A well put together montage from the makers of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game, going into the characters and snaps of the game levels. IF you haven’t played the game, this is a good look at what its about.

A note – some of the moves in the game, especially the more advanced ones, should be in the next movie. The game shows the moves fantastically and show how Wolverine moves more akin to the comics.

A nice video from Fox starting with Hugh Jackman’s short overview of him playing the Wolverine character, along with snippets from the film.

No matter that the feedback is one x men origins: wolverine, its clear Hugh is excited by the character and X-men, which will hopefully show in future movies.

Middle East “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” Screening yet

Although set for screening on April 30, 2009 in theatres in Jordan, UAE, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, it seems thefeddbakc is just coming through.
It seems the storyline is being quite enjoyed in that part of the world, with differing feedback from the west.
Its interesting to see how people from differing cultures, interpret the stroyline and what they pull from the movie.

Hugh, for his part quite enjoyed exploring the darker side of Logan. The character of Wolverine as pictured in the earlier three movies has always had to deal with faint remnants of a murky past, magnified by his amnesia. X-Men Origins: Wolverine tries to tell the audience about this troubled past of Logan aka Wolverine.

Marvel vs. Capcom For Modern Audiences

10 years since the debut of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, the next entry in the popular fighting franchise will soon find its way to audiences worldwide, following the recent popularity of fighting games.
For the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 released early next year, combines modern and classic characters from both arenas.

Marvel’s Deadpool and Super-Skrull will be in with the Marvel additions.
The interview at Gamasutra with Ryota Niitsuma, producer of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at Capcom Japan, says the new game will be darker, slower of pace in a bid to attract new fighting game users.

The Marvel aspect of the interview was as below -

How much did you have to work with Marvel with the look of each character? Did Marvel have any influence over how the Capcom characters looked as well?

RN: First off, Marvel didn’t give us any direction or suggestions for how Capcom characters should be depicted in the game. As for the Marvel characters, the idea is to make these fighters as fun as possible to play in the game, so along those lines, it’s not like we’re dealing with tons of red tape over character design. There are certain aspects to the Marvel in-house style that they insist on sticking to with their characters, though, so Capcom does get guidance along those lines from them.

X-Men: First Class maybe why no Magneto, Wolverine 2 and Deadpool Film

Over at Slashfilms, there are good comments and feedback on the focus of the X-Men franchise and direction concerning all seeming efforts going into X-men: First class.

X-Men Origins: Magneto talk stopped about the same time that X-Men: First Class was announced.

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner in an interview with Crave online, states -

No. You know, there’s internal discussions but probably not. It kind of got incorporated into this one, a lot of it.”

So, a basic no Magneto film, but he will appear in First class.
The proposed plot was as below -

The original X-Men film began with a prologue that showed the character as a child being led to a concentration camp by Nazis and that is the period in which the Magneto film will take place. This setup will allow a future villain to at least flirt with the designation of protagonist since the character will be seen almost exclusively in his formative years. The storyline will heavily involve Professor X, the wheelchair-using X-Men leader. That character was a soldier in the allied force that liberated the concentration camps. The professor meets Magneto after the war and while they bond over the realization that they are alike in their special powers, their differences soon turn them into enemies.

The other bit of news from the interview, is not the revelation of the storyline, but the close focus on the comic storyline!

“Well, we have another Wolverine that we’re going to do, The Wolverine Saga, with Mariko, The Japanese Story, that miniseries. But that we pretty much follow the comic pretty closely, as closely, really closely.”

Good eh!

Another X-men episode – X-Men Evolution: Season 2, Episode 15

Wanda, mentally unstable, is abducted from a secure facility and becomes the newest Brotherhood of mutants member, much to the disgust of her brother Pietro. The Brotherhood beats the X-Men with addition to their ranks.
This series doesn’t have the ‘darkness’ of the films or comics, but has a great ‘comic’ feel.

Bryan Singer’s indepth Details On XMen: First Class

Although not directing X-Men First Class, Bryan Singer is involved in the production of the film, along with holding a story credit with Matthew Vaughn’s film.

With all the speculation over casting recently, Bryan spoke online about more of the details of the new film -

The story is based in the 1960′s. (possibly due to the cmic series starting in the 60′s??)
The main story centres around Xavier and Lehnsherr (James Macavoy and Michael Fassbender) in their 20′s starting their mutant kind endevours.
Xavier will not start in the wheelchair and has a full head of hair, so we hope to see how he is paralysed. (hmmm, which mutant will be doing that…?)
The story adaption is not based on the comic X-Men First class, but ‘a new beginning for the X-Men.’ (is this another way of saying we are going to do our own thing?)
The technology is inspired by the James Bond tech. of the 60′s and thecostumes “will be far more comic bookish than we’ve seen before.”
Cyclops and Jean Grey will not be in the film (hmm, weren’t they the first Xavier school mutants?), but Alex Summers (Havoc, Cyclop’s brother) is in and played by Lucas Til.
The Hellfire Club will be present in the film with Sebastian Shaw (KevinBacon) and Emma Frost (January Jones) as members. The costumes will besimilar to what they were in the original comics and Bacon may sport aponytail with a ribbon.
The film will have a much more international feel, picking up withXavier attending school at Oxford University. Shooting will take placein England and the US. Because this is the 60s, Russia will berepresented.

According to AICN, the statement from Singer -

The film takes place in the 1960′s …. There is a spirit of a hopeful future that was prevalent in that time. We will see how Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr met—and how they dreamt of a future with Mutant & Human kind. They’re going to be in their late twenties. Xavier—as played by James McAvoy will not be in his wheelchair to begin the film — but we will see how he wound up in a wheelchair…. We’ll see McAvoy and Fassbender’s Magneto formulate what it is they are attempting by creating the X-Men.

Singer spoke mostly about the characters: Emma Frost, Sebastian Shaw, and Havoc.

Emma Frost, formerly known as the White Queen, can read minds and project her thoughts into the minds of others. She also can transform her skin and hair into diamond-hard form.

Sebastian Shaw is a mutant who is able to absorb kinetic energy and rechannel it into superhuman strength, speed and durability. Shaw was born into a poor family but built a financial empire, Shaw Industries. Shaw and Frost are both part of the Hellfire Club.
Also, Kevin Bacon will be playing Seb. Shaw ‘The Black King’ of the secret society known as the Hellfire Club.

Start date of photography would be August 31st.

How much will end up in the film, as always, we wait and see, but it seems the theme will be more comic book based in look. Still, this is giving a good idea of the direction of the film.
