Deep Twitter Integration Will Use in iOS 5 (Rumor)

TechCrunch has reported that Apple was looking to integrate Twitter in their next generation operating system iOS 5. It is quite interesting to see if Apple will bring twitter integration on iOS 5 or not.

With twitter integration on iOS 5, the iPhone user will able to share their photos directly to Twitter from their device possibly using the twimg.com as per the Siegler. Furthermore Grubber from Daring Fireball put some more twist on this rumors. He pointed the statement:

“So close to the bigger story, but yet so far. Imagine what else the system could provide if your Twitter account was a system-level service.”

Now the whole thing is just nothing more than the rumors but would be great to Apple's fan if it becomes available on iOS 5.

Deep Twitter integration with iOS is something that makes sense, so much sense in fact that it’s surprising we’re only just hearing rumors about it now.

Modern Warfare 3 gameplay cinematic released

FIinally, Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist at Inifinity Ward, tweeted that tonight we would see a world-premiere of the gameplay coming in Modern Warfare 3. As per himaround 9pm ET/6pm PT we’d see the trailer on TV during the NBA Western Conference Finals. A full hour early, he posted the video to YouTube, and it doesn’t disappoint.

If you’ve been following the leaks and information releases around Modern Warfare 3, none of the gameplay will surprised you. What may surprise you though is how good everything looks. Everything in the cinematic is actual game footage, not pre-rendered or dressed-up cinematic sequences. The full trailer builds on the teasers already posted to the Call of Duty YouTube channel, but now we get to see how the battles in some of the world’s major cities will play out.

The video is a world tour of some of the places around the globe where players will get to experience the game, from street battles on the streets of Paris to swimming through flooded New York City subways. Near the end of the video, we’re treated to a little tidbit of story, and at first the initial “WW3,” which turns and becomes “MW3,” implying this global conflict may be bigger than we initially anticipated. Modern Warfare 3 lands on store shelves November 8th.

ShakeCall Allows You To Receive And End Calls With A Shake (Android)

ShakCall, an android apps allows you to make receive and end calls with shake. It is free and very handy application for you as you you don't need to touch screen to receive and end calls.

The app begins to monitor feedback from your phone’s accelerometer and proximity sensor in the event of a incoming/outgoing call and receives/ends a call whenever the monitored values match or exceed those defined by the user, subsequently causing the phone to vibrate (as per default settings). Launch the app from your app drawer to alter the required Shaking Intensity and Proximity Sensor Value, toggle vibration on call receive/end, toggle the toast suggestion that appears whenever a call is connected and test if the settings suit you via the Sensor Virtual Call Test option.

The Disconnect Call Fix option, when enabled, ensures that calls do not disconnect while you’re holding the phone to your ear.

As of this writing, receiving calls via the proximity sensor (holding the phone to your ear or placing your hand over the ear piece) only works when the Shaking to receive call option is enabled. Hopefully, future updates will allow the user to use one or both of the options at a time.

We've known Samsung's Infuse 4G was coming to AT&T since the day we got our grubby mitts on one at CES, and now it's finally here.
Samsung's svelte superphone with the dazzling 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display is launching May 15th on AT&T for $200 on a two-year contract. Keep it locked right here, as more pics and a hands-on with Sammy's hot new handset are on the way.

Behind that sizable screen real estate, the Infuse 4G packs HSDPA Cat 14 and HSUPA Cat 6 radios, a 2GB microSD card, 1.2 GHz processor, and Android 2.2. Sammy also gave it an 8-megapixel camera in the back that does 720p video and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter -- all in a handset that's 9.24mm thick in the bulge at the bottom and 8.9mm thin most everywhere else. Samsung Infuse 4G hands-on (updated)

We've seen it powered down and had it dangled in front of us and now, four months after its launch, we've finally had a chance to play with a real, working Samsung Infuse 4G. This 4.5-inch superphone -- the biggest Sammy has made to date -- feels surprisingly light in the hands, despite its width. That's largely thanks to its crazy-thin 8.99mm profile, along with a subtly textured backside. The Super AMOLED Plus display -- the same kind found on the smaller Droid Charge -- which promises to be brighter than Super AMOLED as well as easier to view in direct sunlight, is simply stunning. We were seriously impressed by the punchy colors and deep blacks, although that outdoor test will have to wait for another day.

Blessedly, Samsung lets those vibrant colors speak for themselves -- it loaded the phone with Android 2.2 and abstained from saddling it with its TouchWiz UI made its TouchWiz UI less intrusive out of the box. The handset packs a single -- not dual -- core 1.2GHz processor, but you won't notice or care how many cores it has unless you're a benchmark junkie -- the phone launches applications briskly, while the touchscreen is responsive and always precise. We noticed nary a delay as we swiped among the seven home screens and three application pages. Speaking of speed, this is AT&T's first device to promise max speeds of 21 Mbps. Samsung held its press event in a New York City restaurant with poor reception, alas, and we have a feeling the crawling rates we observed off-camera don't do this phone justice. We're walking out of here with one of these bad boys, and we're stoked to fully put it through its paces over the next few days.

Install CyanogenMod 7 Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 On LG Optimus 2X

CyanogenMod 7 ROM for Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 is now available for LG Optimus 2X. This release is a nightly build and is recommended for testers and those who want to play around with Gingerbread on their device. You need a rooted LG Optimus 2X to install the ROM.

STEPS

1. Root LG Optimus 2X and install ROM Manager from Android market. No need to go for the paid version, free one will do.

Use this QR code to install ROM Manager.

We have a step by step guide on how to install CyanogenMod ROMs using ROM Manager, but for your convenience we are repeating the steps for LG Optimus 2X here.

2. After installation, open ROM Manager and tap ‘Flash ClockworkMod Recovery’.

For installing CyanogenMod ROMs, you need to first download and install ClockworkMod Recovery.

3. From the list of devices, select ‘LG Optimus 2X’.

4. Let ROM Manager download and install the recovery file, which could take quite a while depending on your network speed.

5. After ClockworkMod Recovery installation is done, go ahead and reboot your phone.

6. Once again launch ROM Manager and tap ‘Download ROM’.

7. From the list, select CyanogenMod 7 and check the option ‘Google Apps’ if you like.

8. Once the download is complete, you will be asked if you like to ‘Backup Existing ROM’ and also ‘Wipe Data and Cache’ before proceeding with the installation. Tap ‘Yes’.

9. Let the process of flashing CyanogenMod 7 onto your device complete.

That’s it. Your LG Optimus 2X will now reboot and it will be on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread based CyanogenMod 7.

Install Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread On Nexus One Manually

After Google (Samsung) Nexus S, it’s time for the Google Nexus One to get the Gingerbread feast. Google has started rolling out the official Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update for the Nexus One. It should hit your device in couple of days.

For the impatient, there is always a work-around. Here is how you can manually download and install the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update on your Nexus One.

MANUAL UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download Android 2.3.4 update for Nexus One (GRJ22-from-GRI40.zip) to your computer.

2. Rename it to update.zip. Make sure it’s not ‘update.zip.zip’!

2. Connect your Nexus One to computer via USB cable.

3. Copy the update.zip to phone’s internal SD Card at root level. Don’t unzip the contents.

4. Disconnect USB connection and power off the phone.

5. Reboot the phone into ‘Recovery mode’. To do it, press and hold “Volume Down” key and “Power” button simultaneously for few seconds and release it.

6. In the Recovery mode, use volume button to navigate through “Recovery” and press “Power” button to select it.

7. You will see the “!” symbol. Then hold the “Power” button and then press the “Volume Up” button.

8. In the recovery options, choose ““apply update from /sdcard” option.

9. Select the update.zip file on your sdcard and then press the “Power” button to flash it.

10. Wait for the Android 2.3.4 upgrade process to complete.

After a automatic reboot, you have successfully upgraded the Nexus One to Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

Every time the US waves the bloody shirt of Osama, it has a purpose. Obama has been drastically weakened in recent months, and the US has been hurt by murdering Gadaffi’s family members. So…tah-dah…the body of Osama bin Laden for our edification and distration. It may even be true. Certainly the CIA will assure us that its DNA test proves it.

1) Congratulations to the United States government on spending only ten years and a few trillion dollars to kill one old man.

3) Ah, now the Libyan war is beginning to make a lot more sense from a political standpoint. The government needed a new bogeyman to chase.

The root is simple to get. You need to only figure out a way to transfer the app to your Tab’s memory as the app is not released to Android market.

ROOTING INSTRUCTIONS

Alright people, we’re not sure if you’re waiting for this one or not, but Microsoft’s much hyped KIN, aka the “pink phone” will be available for pre-order on Verizon’s website starting tomorrow and will hit the Verizon store shelves on May 13th.

Now if you’re wondering if we’re excited about the KIN phones? To be quite honest, not that much. The phone isn’t that special, we’ve seen other phones around us do the same thing but the fact that the KIN One and Two are dedicated completely to social networking, it does send chills down the spine to some. Will it be an iPhone killer? Some people might say maybe, but we think it’s a straight forward NO. The KIN’s software is a cross between Windows Phone 7 and the Zune HD’s software, which turns out to be something really unique.

The phones are aimed at the youth, hence the funky and unique form factors. The data charges on Verizon for the KIN are $30 a month, that’s not that bad if you’re really going to shake the hell out of Facebook with the KIN, but it’s expensive if you’re just going to keep the phone in your pocket. KIN One will sell for $49.99 and the Kin Two for $99.99 after a $100 mail in rebate, that’s quite fair if you do receive your $100 rebate on time. In case if you’re feeling too lazy to order it online, you can get your hands on both these devices on Verizon stores May 13th onwards.

Nokia transfers Symbian development and 3,000 employees to Accenture, will downsize workforce by further 4,000

Nokia's already done quite a bit to cut ties with last year's big push for Symbian and Qt development, though this is perhaps the biggest step yet.
The Finnish company has announced it's transferring responsibility for Symbian development to consulting and outsourcing firm Accenture, which sounds odd given the latter outfit's inexperience in delivering mobile OS updates, but the good news is that the 3,000 devs Nokia had working on Symbian will continue their jobs under the new employer. That basically means that Nokia will live up to its unhappy promise that there'll be "substantial reductions in employment" within its own ranks, while still keeping the men and women responsible for updating Symbian employed. Unfortunately, there will still be a further 4,000 job cuts in the company's global workforce, primarily in Finland, Denmark and the UK, which will "occur in phases" between the beginning and end of next year. Nokia's agreement with Accenture also involves continued collaboration on delivering mobility software and services on the Windows Phone platform. Jailbreakers everywhere rejoice! If you have an iPad and have always wanted those apps on your phone, today is your day. Also, get that iPhone 4 unlocked, with our how-to guide posted with the new Ultrasnow update. The Ultrasnow version 1.2.2 supports the carrier unlock for iOS 4.3.2 on iPhone 4, allowing you the freedom to use any GSM carrier.

Now, you want to run your iPad apps on that new unlocked iPhone 4. Let’s go over the steps below:

1. Go download the iTelePad2Pod app here.
2. Install the App to your applications folder in MacOSX and run it.
3. Your iPad must be jailbroken to get this working.
4. Enable SSH on your device if it is not already.
5. Follow the rest of the directions via the app.

Don’t expect much from this however. Not all apps will work with this trick, and most apps were not formatted for landscape on the iPhone. Also, in some of the apps, you will be missing some screen because the resolution is higher on the iPad, so the sides may be cut off on the phone. In any case, give this a shot on your favorite apps and see how well it works for you.

iMac rumor mill suggests new models could be coming next week

This one is obviously still very much in rumor territory, but a couple of separate reports have cropped up today that suggest Apple could be set to debut some updated iMacs as soon as next week.

That includes a report from 9 to 5 Mac that iMac orders are being delayed until May 2nd, despite the fact that they're still listed as shipping within 24 hours on Apple's website, and a separate confirmation from a trusted source of the site, who says that Apple will stop shipping iMacs to retailers this week in advance of next week's supposed release. That's further backed up by a report from Mac Rumors, which cites another source who says that Apple will be changing the promotional materials in its retail stores for a launch on Tuesday, May 3rd. Details are comparatively light on the rumored new iMacs themselves, but the safe money seems to be on Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt ports.

Sony S1 and S2 dual-screen

Sony's hosting a press event in Tokyo today where it just made the first announcement: a pair of Android 3.0 tablets -- yes, the very two Honeycomb slabs we told you about first, back in February.

The first is the 9.4-inch S1 media tablet (aka, Qriocity focused) with a curved top much like a folded magazine and both front- and rear-facing cameras. The S1 features a Tegra 2 SoC and customized "Quick and Smooth" touch panel UI with "Swift" web browser. It can also be used as a remote control for Sony gear thanks to integrated infrared. The second is the dual-screen S2 clamshell with its pair of 5.5-inch 1,024 x 480 pixel displays, Tegra 2 SoC, and cameras. While it sounds bulky, Kunimasa Suzuki just pulled the hinged tablet from his jacket pocket on stage. Sony takes advantage of the two screens with a custom book-style UI layout for its e-reader app, email (keyboard on one display with email on the other), and more. This is a good sign that nary a precious moment of time is being wasted; after all, we've got a full six weeks before the heavily-rumored June 8 launch, and there's an abundance of opportunities for the two companies to get the word out like crazy between now and then. Nintendo Wii 2 “Stream” Pictures and Info Leaked!

Leaks for the Nintendo Wii “Stream” (codenamed Project Cafe) have been released in the form of images from NeoGAF. These images give a tentative look at the upcoming successor to the Wii, along with details about the kind of controllers available upon its release.

Much like the Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo plans to implement small screens on the HD and Touch Sense controllers. These 1080p touch screens would display the portion of the split-screen designated for that player, causing the TV to display alternate camera angles, if any at all.

Roughly the size of an XBox 360, the “Stream” hearkens back to the appearance of the SNES, instead of modeling itself after its more recent predecessor. Despite it’s old school appearance, specs for the “Stream” are pretty impressive, bypassing both the XBox 360 and PS3 in terms of power and graphic capabilities.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 confirmed, faster-charging integrated battery detailed

The ultraslim Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is most definitely real, coming soon, and just so happens to be packing some fancy new battery technology as well. This intel comes straight from Lenovo's own servers, where a highly informative PDF (intended for reseller partners, but accessible to all) dishes the dirt on the upcoming laptop.

The X1's "slice" battery won't be user-replaceable, but what you lose in flexibility will be made up for in sheer performance gains, as Lenovo is touting it'll last three times as long as a normal battery and will recharge 2.5 times faster than previous ThinkPad cells. That's thanks to some fanciness named RapidCharge that will revitalize the X1 to 80 percent within 30 minutes. The presentation slides show the X1 right alongside Lenovo's latest Edge models, the E420s and E220s, as part of "a new generation of ThinkPads," and given that both of those are now shipping, the ultraslim, but still unannounced, X1 can't be far behind. Finally, just for some added intrigue, we've also spotted mention of an "X Slate" within the document -- any ideas as to what that might look like?

White iPhone 4 available at Vodafone UK

Yes, above is an actual picture of a white iPhone 4 box. There is word all over that these white phones are shipping to Vodafone UK and are starting to be stocked by retailers. These phones have been very elusive in the past, but guessing that the iPad2 comes in white as well, Apple probably has their hands on the materials to make these again.

When this phone was rung up in the UK and sold to a customer, Vodafone then sent out a notice halting all sales of these phones until next week. It is being reported that the release date for this phone will be Wednesday, April 27th. AT&T or Verizon have no updates at this time regarding their stock of the white iPhone 4. The model number is a bit different from the black one, guessing that the number represents the color.

It’s not surprising that Apple is releasing these phones now, given the fact that the white was always popular for their iPhone line. It is unknown of the quantity that each carrier will get or retailers will receive, but word is that it will be a limited quantity at first and will grow over the following weeks.
