Vedanta group's four demerged businesses have made their stock market debut on the bourses, after a special pre-open session today, marking the final leg of the conglomerate's mega demerger. Besides Vedanta Ltd, which is already listed, the shares of four newly created entities -- Vedanta Aluminium Metal (VAML), Vedanta Oil & Gas (VOGL), Vedanta Power and Vedanta Iron & Steel (VISL), got listed on NSE and BSE.

Vedanta shareholders had received one equity share in each of the four demerged cos for every one share held in the Anil Agarwal-led group.

Investors should note that the newly-listed stocks will initially be placed in the trade-to-trade (T2T) segment. The segment requires compulsory delivery for all trades or transactions during the initial period. This will be applicable for the first 10 trading sessions.

The demerger of the metals-to-mining conglomerate was approved by the National Company Law Tribunal in December last year. Under the 1:1 approved demerger scheme, shareholders will receive one share of each demerged company for every one share held in Vedanta Ltd.

According to domestic brokerage Nuvama Institional Equities, Vedanta and Vedanta Aluminium will likely remain large-caps, while more domestic flows are expected for Vedanta Ltd and Vedanta Alumnium. Emkay Global had described the exercise as a "pure-play transition", saying individual businesses could attract dedicated investor interest and potentially command higher valuations.

Box Office: Ram Charan's Peddi Races Towards Rs 200 Crore In India

Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor's Peddi refuses to slow down after six days. As the film nears a week at the box office, it is steadily marching towards Rs 200 crore in India. Worldwide, the film crossed the Rs 250 crore mark on Monday.

Breaking down the numbers

On Day 6, Peddi collected a net of Rs 9.65 crore from 7,554 shows, as per Sacnilk.

This brings total India gross collections to Rs 213.23 crore and total India net collections to Rs 179.35 crore so far.

Overseas, the film collected Rs 1.00 crore on Day 6, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 48.00 crore. This pushes the worldwide gross to Rs 261.23 crore.

On its first Tuesday since release, Peddi registered its first single-digit daily numbers.

Significance of Peddi in Telugu cinema

The film has emerged as one of the biggest openers in Telugu cinema history and is the 11th Telugu film to achieve the coveted Rs 100 crore worldwide opening-day milestone.

“The achievement highlights Ram Charan's box-office pull and marks one of the biggest openings of his career. The result is particularly significant for the actor as it comes after the disappointing theatrical performance of Game Changer, reaffirming his status as one of Telugu cinema's biggest stars,” reported trade tracker Sacnilk.

Directed by S. S. Rajamouli and headlined by Ram Charan and Jr NTR, RRR made a whopping Rs 223 crore worldwide on day one.

Peddi backlash

Apart from minting money, Peddi came under severe scrutiny over Janhvi Kapoor's hyper‑sexualised portrayal in the film. Celebrities from different walks of life shared their thoughts during the debate. Director Buchi Babu Sana issued an apology and said he would make necessary changes following the backlash.

An excerpt from his note read: “Every woman deserves to be respected, valued and represented with dignity. We remain committed to telling stories that celebrate strong characters and uphold those values. Thank you to everyone who shared their views honestly and sincerely.”

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Boman Irani, Divyenndu and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles, alongside Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor.

Loan Recovery Harassment: Five Steps To Take And Legal Rights Every Borrower Should Know

Missing a loan repayment is stressful, but things get way worse when you deal with annoying calls and intimidation from collectors. While lenders have the right to get their money back, some rules protect borrowers from harassment and unfair treatment.

The RBI sets guidelines for banks, NBFCs and collection agencies about how they can contact borrowers. If you know your rights, you won't feel helpless during these tough times.

Here's what collectors can and can't do:

No Harassment or Intimidation

First off, no more stress from nasty calls or messages. Collection agents aren't allowed to harass you, threaten violence or act like authorities such as the police or legal reps. Visiting homes without proper authorisation, intimidating borrowers on social media or public humiliation are all prohibited.

Privacy Must Be Respected

Agents are not allowed to talk to family members, bosses or neighbours about your loan. It's none of their business to publicly shame you or expose details of your debt to others.

Contact Hours Are Restricted

Recovery agents can't call at any hour. RBI guidelines require reasonable contact hours only between 8 am and 7 pm. Excessive calls, anonymous calls, repeated harassment or contacting borrowers outside permitted hours may be a violation.

Steps to take if harassment continues

1. Document Everything

Record all phone calls from recovery agents. Save text messages, emails and WhatsApp chats. Also note down the dates, times and names of the callers.

2. Verify Agent Credentials

Ask the recovery agent for ID and their bank's authorisation letter. Real recovery agents will show these documents.

3. File a Formal Complaint

If issues persist, send a detailed complaint to the bank. Make sure to explain the harassment and include your recorded proof.

4. Escalate to the RBI Ombudsman

Wait 30 days for the bank to resolve the issue. Should the bank fail to reply or dismiss your issue, file a complaint on the Reserve Bank of India website.

5. Seek Legal Remedy

If threats turn physical, call the cops and file a complaint for criminal intimidation. You can also approach a consumer court for mental agony and defamation.

Default isn't the only outcome of financial hardship. Borrowers can work with lenders to restructure loans, extend repayment periods, reduce EMIs or settle dues. Check if your loan includes insurance cover for job loss, illness or emergencies. The earlier you reach out, the more solutions you'll have.

What Is The Series About?

The three-part documentary explores the child-molestation case that led to criminal charges against Michael Jackson in 2003 and the high-profile trial that followed.

Through interviews with people directly involved in the proceedings, the series attempts to piece together what happened inside a courtroom that was largely hidden from public view. Those featured include jurors, witnesses, accusers, defenders and journalists who closely followed the case.

Jackson was ultimately acquitted on all counts in 2005, but the trial remains one of the most discussed legal battles involving a global celebrity.

The trailer highlights the divided opinions surrounding the case. While one participant describes Jackson as "the most famous man in the world being accused of the most heinous crime in the world", another claims he escaped conviction because of his fame. Why Are The Makers Revisiting The Case?

Speaking to Netflix's Tudum, filmmakers said, "It has been 20 years since the trial of Michael Jackson, in which he was found not guilty. Yet, to this day, controversy still rages."

The creators also pointed out that cameras were not allowed inside the courtroom, meaning much of the public's understanding came from media reports and commentary rather than direct access to the proceedings.

Actor Gaurav Gera has received praise for his role as Mohammad Aalam, also known as Aalam Bhai, in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. In the film, he plays an Indian intelligence operative working undercover in Karachi, posing as a juice seller in the Lyari area to conceal his identity.

In an interview with Jist, Gera spoke about his journey into acting, his early struggles, and how he found his path despite having no film background.

What Gaurav Gera Said

Reflecting on his upbringing, he said, "Mere yahan koi filmon mein nahi tha. Nobody from my family was in films." (No one in my family was connected to films.)

He shared that his interest in performing arts began during his school years, where he participated in annual functions and fancy dress competitions. Talking about his academic life and creative inclination, he said, "Art and craft mein mere A-plus aate the, but studies mein main 72%, 80%, 82% wala student tha. Mujhe lagta tha jis cheez mein main achha hoon, usko encourage hi nahi kar rahe. Meri sketching achhi thi. Maine College of Arts mein apply kiya tha, but hua nahi. Phir fashion mein gaya aur Pearl Academy of Fashion join ki."

(I used to get A-plus in art and craft, but in studies I was an average scorer. I felt that what I was good at wasn't being encouraged. I was good at sketching and had applied to the College of Arts, but didn't get in. I then joined Pearl Academy of Fashion.)

However, he soon realised it was not his calling. "Mujhe laga ye woh nahi hai jo main karna chahta hoon. Maine papa se bol diya, 'Paise bacha lo, bada mehenga course hai. Main nahi karunga.' Papa ne kaha, 'Finish it. Aadhe saal job kar lena, phir jo mann mein aaye karna.' Exactly aadha saal job kiya aur phir theatre join kar liya."

(I realised this wasn't what I wanted to do. I told my father to save the money as it was an expensive course. He asked me to finish it, work for six months, and then do what I wanted. I did that and then joined theatre.)

Speaking about his family's support, Gera added, "Mere papa IIT-BHU se engineer hain, bhai software engineer hai, but mujh par kuch thopa nahi gaya. Iske liye main thankful hoon."

(My father is an engineer from IIT-BHU, and my brother is a software engineer, but nothing was forced on me. I am grateful for that.)

The actor also opened up about his financial struggles after moving to Mumbai. "Mere account mein Rs 84 the. Main HDFC Bank ke saamne se guzarta tha aur bank ko dekh kar kehta tha, 'Mera khayal rakhna.' Main aate-jaate bank ko mattha tek ke jaata tha."

(I had just Rs 84 in my account. I would pass by a bank and jokingly ask it to take care of me.)

He recalled how his father supported him despite limited means. "Papa salaried person the. Unke letters abhi bhi mere paas hain jahan likha hota tha, 'Rs 2,000 bhej raha hoon, isse zyada nahi hai.'"

(My father was a salaried employee. I still have his letters where he would write that he was sending Rs 2,000, and that was all he could afford.)

Looking back, he said he did not feel burdened despite hardships. "Us waqt lagta tha takleef nahi hai. Paise nahi hain auto ke, toh paidal aa jayenge. Main thoda khuddar type tha. Main dene wala banna chahta tha, lene wala nahi."

(At that time, I didn't feel the struggle. If I didn't have money for an auto, I would walk. I wanted to be someone who gives, not takes.)

He also recalled writing a letter to his family during that phase. "Letter mein likha tha ki abhi paise ke front par kuch materialise nahi hua hai, but please have faith in me. Future is bright. I need to learn more."

(I wrote that nothing had materialised financially yet, but asked them to have faith in me as the future was bright.)

Reflecting on it now, he added, "Mujhe us letter ki tone bahut achhi lagti hai. Na usmein ghamand tha, na yeh tha ki mujhe sab aata hai. Agar aaj mujhe waisa bachcha mile, toh main usko support hi karunga."

(I like the tone of that letter-it had no arrogance, only honesty. If I meet someone like that today, I would support them.)

Despite gaining renewed popularity with Dhurandhar and its sequel, Gera emphasised that success has not changed his approach. He admitted that there was a brief phase when he took praise too seriously. "Kuch saalon pehle mujhe lagne laga tha ki log mujhe 'legend' bol rahe hain aur shayad maine usko thoda seriously le liya tha. Phir mujhe laga, 'No, I have to break it. I have to kill it.'"

(A few years ago, I started believing it when people called me a 'legend', but then I realised I had to break that mindset.)

He added that such thinking can lead to ego. "Greatness wali feeling ahankaar laati hai. Main us zone ka nahi hona chahta tha. Isliye main apne aap ko check mein rakhta hoon."

(The feeling of greatness can bring arrogance. I did not want to be in that space, so I keep myself in check.)

On whether the success of Dhurandhar has affected him, he said, "Ab nahi aata. Shayad 10 saal pehle aa jaata. Ab lagta hai ye bas ek kaam hai jo maine kiya aur logon ne pasand kiya. It's one of the jobs that I did."

(It doesn't affect me now. Maybe it would have 10 years ago. Now it feels like just another job that people liked.)

Gera concluded by saying that the industry itself teaches humility. "Aaj aap rocking ho, kal nahi ho. Maine itne ups and downs dekhe hain ki ab farq nahi padta."

(Today you are successful; tomorrow you may not be. I have seen enough ups and downs that it no longer affects me.)

Virat Kohli and the entire Royal Challengers Bengaluru camp breathed a sigh of relief after making it to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final on Tuesday. RCB secured a comprehensive 92-run victory against the Gujarat Titans, qualifying for the summit clash for the second season in a row. Right after the 10th Gujarat Titans wicket fell, Kohli rushed to the VIP section of the stadium to hug his wife, Anushka Sharma. Kohli also greeted Ananya Birla, who is part of the Aditya Birla Group, which recently bought RCB as part of a consortium.

In multiple videos that have surfaced on social media, Kohli could be seen crossing the boundary rope to head straight to Anushka. The two hugged each other and celebrated the qualification for the final. Afterwards, Kohli seemed to have had a little chat with Ananya Birla, whose company, interestingly, also sponsors the Gujarat Titans.

RCB's IPL 2026 final qualification comes a year after the franchise finally ended its long wait for the title. RCB are back in the final, this time with a stronger, calmer, and more confident approach. They topped the league stage before crushing the Gujarat Titans, despite losing their final game of the previous stage to the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Meta recently laid off nearly 8,000 employees, cutting roughly 10 per cent of its workforce. Following the announcement, a former employee from San Francisco went viral for celebrating her termination. Instead of feeling devastated, she shared that the job loss made her feel "happy and free". In an Instagram post, Asha Raval, who worked as a product designer at Meta since 2022, as per her LinkedIn profile, said she was among those impacted by the latest round of layoffs. Raval shared a screenshot of the layoff notice she received, adding that she was let go despite 'exceeding expectations' in all of her performance reviews in the last four years.

"Today, I became one of the 8,000 people laid off at Meta. And honestly? I feel free," Raval captioned the video. "After four years of exceeding expectations at Meta, I can confidently say this: No amount of stock grants, performance reviews, or corporate prestige can fix the feeling of your soul slowly dying inside a life that no longer fits you."

Raval, who has an impressive 1.2 lakh followers on Instagram, said she has always been an artist before her Silicon Valley gig and that she will return to her art, fashion and storytelling.

"Before tech, before corporate titles, before Silicon Valley, I was always an artist first. A maximalist fashionista. An entrepreneur. A creator. I was never meant to spend my life making slides and sitting in meetings while my real dreams sat on the sidelines," said Raval.

"So now? I'm going all in. More fashion. More art. More storytelling. More entrepreneurship. More Asha Mode."

Meta Layoffs

After Meta told the employees to work from home, they began receiving termination notices as early as 4 am. The cuts are expected to hit engineering and product divisions particularly hard. At the same time, Meta plans to move around 7,000 employees into AI-focused teams, reduce layers of management, and shut thousands of open positions as it reorganises around AI-driven operations and products.

Meta's workforce overhaul comes as the company ramps up investments in AI infrastructure, AI agents and automation tools as part of a wider transformation remaking roles across the tech industry. The layoffs also arrive amid a broader wave of job cuts across major technology firms, including LinkedIn, which reportedly cut around 600 roles the same day.
