In this episode of Xtraordinary Living host Rick Itzkowich interviews Eric Meech.

On September 23, 2007 with history as their compass, Eric Meech, Jeff Jordan, A.J. Villa, Darrell Esparza and Rick Strobel completed a 200 mile, 12-day dory voyage that roughly re-traced the route taken in 1934 by two pioneer lifeguards, Emil Sigler and the late Bill Rumsey.

In this podcast, Eric shares his thoughts about challenging the ways and waves of the ocean. For those of you who regularly set physical goals to achieve this podcast will give you another man’s perspective; for those of you who admire historical adventures, you will get a glimpse of what being a doryman in the 19th century meant.<div class="feedflare">

Episode # 30 of Xtraordinary Living is out. Since I have received several requests from listeners to explain how to get from the mundane here...to the extraordinary there, I recorded this episode to address the topic "Feeling Better, Doesn't Necessarily Mean You're Getting Better."

In this 30th episode, you’ll hear:
-- Why "good" is the enemy of "great."
-- How our society has become obsessed with comfort.
-- Why taking risks both physically and emotionally boost your chances of living an extraordinary life.
-- How an extraordinary life is not a place, but a process of living. It's traveling the journey, not the destination.
-- What successes can be achieved when you push beyond your ordinary limits.
-- and more.<div class="feedflare">

In Episode #29 I interview Azim Khamisa. Azim is the co-founder of TKF or the Tariq Khamisa Foundation. TKF was formed in 1995 after Azim's son, Tariq, a 20-year-old SDSU student, was senselessly shot and killed while delivering pizzas. His assailant was a 14-year-old gang member named Tony Hicks. Believing that there were "victims at both ends of the gun," Azim reached out in forgiveness to Tony's grandfather and guardian, Ples Felix, to begin the process of healing.

In our 29th episode, you'll hear:
-- Why Azim felt compelled to meet both his son's assailant and his grandfather.
-- How their relationship grew in stages, to its current state of brotherhood.
-- How the crisis created positive change, TKF programs have touched over 20 million children to date.
-- How violence is a learned behavior.
-- What does it mean to be in a state of "bardo."
-- How our society can begin to be healed through "RJ" or restorative justice.
-- Gandhi and the Dali Lama's succinct quotes on anger and revenge.
-- How you can plant seeds of hope.<div class="feedflare">

This podcast is all about ordinary people living extraordinary lives. In this episode, host Rick Itzkowich interviews Dr. Edie Eger. The topic of this episode is "Turning Adversity Into Opportunity." In this 23rd episode you will hear:
-- What Dr. Edie’s mother told her as she was separated from her at Auschwitz
-- How contrary to public belief, there are no victims in this world, only willing participants
-- Why temptation serves to teach us about freedom of choice
-- How everyone has the ability to change at any time; we have the power to choose how we will respond at any moment in time
-- What Victor Frankel said to her during a dance together
-- Why there are no punishments in life, just consequences
-- How the words “risk” and “willing” help us “evolve” not just “revolve”
-- Action steps to incorporate if you are in a “stuck” mode
-- And much more!<div class="feedflare">
