Gangnam Style, Why is it so hot #3 (Special Report)

So Gangnam Style, one of the first YouTube video which manage to reach the peak of a 1 billion views and as of this time of writing Gangnam Style has: 1,140,421,375 views.

So why? why is it so HOT? What about this makes it worth sharing with the people worldwide? The answer is actually very simple if you have read my previous post on viral content. Luck

If you ask me why is this so hot?Simple, I have a very simplified answer and a very complex answer, to save writing a full page post, I'm going to write a very simple one.

La Macarena, the 'music' video that everyone is literally talking about during the 1970's but what makes it so hot?

The dance.

I mean isn't it? Of course the dance itself is not the only thing as to why this is so popular. Right now in terms of pop music the type of pop music that is currently rising up the charts are K-pop or Korean Pop Songs.
Right now everyone including North Americans are crazy about K-pop okay maybe not all but there is a growing majority of people that actually enjoys it.

The only reason why La Macarena is not as hot as Gangnam Style is simply because internet in the past is not as accessible as it is now. If it has, I'm pretty sure it is comparable to Gangnam Style in terms of hits and views.

So there you have it! The reasons why Gangnam Style is SO popular is simple because of the 3 fulfilled criteria.

- It is a Hot 'niche' (K-Pop)
- The number to targeted audience is very broad, not to mention the amount the dedicated audience who is willing to share like mad to make it popular.
- There are people whom like it and decided to share and also found enough of dedicated audience to like and continue sharing on and very soon it began spreading like wildfire and the final results?

Good job, people, you have make Gangnam style the half-a-month overnight success because of your hard work and I congratulate you for accomplishing the impossible feat, or at least not how YouTube predicted it.

Now if only my blog can be shared like that, sigh, 'continues on my wistful dream'.

Viral Content, something that makes people want to talk about it. Making something Viral is not easy to achieve. It requires work and LUCK at the same time. Gangnam Style is an example of luck which is something I will be talking about in the next post.

If you haven't read my first post which is ages ago, I recommend you to read it which is Viral Content (Case Study) then come back to this post.

Making a content viral requires hardwork and luck at the same time. Why do I say that? Have a look at the points below.

Factors leading to a viral Content:

Hard Work

Creating Apps on Facebook, this is not an easy thing to do but I heard some software can automate that task for you
Apps can range from quizzes to games.
Promoting your content by getting backlinks
Commenting on other uses blog.
Finding a HOT NICHE ***

Luck

Finding a hot niche is one thing, getting targeted traffic for your niche is another thing altogether. Without targeted audience to use your apps and promote your brand, then what's the point of creating an app for Facebook in the first place?
Spam Apps, unfortunately for all you viral marketers, our users are smart now, depending the audience which you are targeting, when it comes to Facebook app, they can recognize whether it is useless or unproductive and they have a CHOICE not to let your app update their status for them.
It dies. Yes, sad to say, many have tried viral marketing but failed because it died halfway before it is even considered viral. Will elaborate more on it later.

See, despite hard work, without Lady Luck beside you, you are going to fail as simple as that. Despite that being the case, I don't want to disappoint you by saying Viral Marketing is impossible. IT IS possible, to a certain extend.

Creating Interactive programs for your users to use CAN GREATLY INCREASE viral potential. Especially via Facebook. However, you should NOT ignore other platforms which will allow you to market your products. We have Digg, Reddit, and many many more which is available at your disposable, it just a matter of whether you want to do it or not as simple as that.

There are TONS of article directories you can make use of, submit articles to them! This will greatly increase your exposure to many more people!

Utilize Marketing Software, please marketers, if you want to make real money, please use a software to automate task for you to greatly reduce your workload, by having good keywords and great exposure, you are like an attractive store in a shopping center with things that people want to buy with no competition (Hot Niche).

Some highly recommended software include:

- Market Samurai (Keyword Researcher)

- Sick Submitter

- Traffic Travis

- Keyword Scouter

Create useful 'gifts' for your users to download. This goes out to all bloggers and marketers. Create something useful that our users will want in exchange for sharing it on Facebook or making them subscribe to you. This will also increase the viral potential of your blog or the items you are marketing.

Making use of PLR's

PLR, private label rights, yes, make use of it. Won't elaborate more on this as this is going to be more than a thousand words post if I elaborate this but this will be available in the next few posts.

Of Course, the question that many people will be asking, I implemented all these methods, WHY IS IT NOT WORKING?

Simple, let me give you a quick representation here of what most bloggers who attempt to make themselves known or marketers do:

(Let's call him John) John found a product which he wants to sell on making commissions eBook! He said "This looks interesting! I want to try selling it. But how should I go about it? Hmm.." (Thinks for a while), "Yes! I will use Facebook and Twitter!"

Then John uses an app that allows users to access his free gift in return for sharing or subscribing to his blog via Facebook and Twitter, shared to majority of the article directories and more. He begins to see a slight increase in his website views and subscribers and beginning to think, "Yes this is working!".

A few days later, his website views suddenly receives a sharp decline of views. John mysteriously wonders to himself, "Why?"

There is a lot of reasons why and if one of the factors is not working in his favor (the luck factor), his attempt at viral marketing will fail as soon as it started to see some bit of success.

WHY?

Viral is a very simple terminology when someone likes what they see (Or hate), they share to the other person and the other person MUST genuinely like what they see before they are committed enough to do you a favor of sharing and this continues on and on and on till it reaches a viral stage. IF one person doesn't like what they see and decide to stop sharing, it will die, slowly.

It is that simple, having targeted audience is simply NOT GOOD enough, you need to have dedicated audiences as well! This isn't easy to find and that's where many marketers or bloggers fail at.

Project Glass, Another Sci-Fi gizmo by Google?

Project Glass, the latest project by Google which is considered by most to be an 'Advancement In Technology'

As usual, I'm XxRazex and today I decided to post something slightly different from my usual posts about blogging and all and instead talk about Project Glass or Google Glasses.

Project Glass as what people considered to be one of the best inventions of 2012. Yes best invention of 2012. However, the reason why I wrote this at 2013 is simply because the product itself will be shipped to public in 2013 so there is no point writing so early.

Anyway back to topic, Project Glass is something like what your smartphone can do. It can use location services to track your location, use Wi-Fi to access the internet (Don't see how that's possible however in this video they showed that the person is sharing a post to Google Plus so I'll assume it has Wi-Fi), and have many features of what Siri is capable of. Simple put, Voice Command.

This brings me back to my earlier statement of this being the an advancement in technology. However, what exactly is an advancement in technology? A form of technology where it gives people better convenience, or is an advancement in technology a form of technology where it helps people better their lives?

Sure, convenience can be considered as a way of bettering our lives. But does this really help us? I mean think about it, Location services is a feature available in almost every single smartphone, Wi-Fi or internet in almost every single smartphone. Siri, only available on iOS devices.

Seriously Google, what features does the Google Glass have that differs from your average smartphone with the exception on voice command which is not available on Android.

However, before you start ranting and flaming me in the comments that Google Glasses is a step towards our futuristic technology world. Yes, I agree with that because right now I can more or less imagine that we'll be driving in remote cars and skateboarding in hoverboards in the year 2100 with our glasses on that tells us what time to go home. All these aren't really 'advances in technology' but more like bettering the lives of the people and at the same time gives the people who own it bragging rights.

If you want my opinion on what is considered 'advances in technology', is fulfilling the needs of our society. If you can develop something like a cure for aids or cancer now that's what I call an advance in technology.

Anyway, if you ask me, I'll just dismiss this $1500 gizmo as one of another Google's products that wants to make it look futuristic but is nothing more compared to what a smartphone can do.

Computer Pranks to play #1

I have some nice collection of computer pranks for you, some are completely harmless (unless they don't know how to revert back) to some that can crash your computer and literally kill your computer (as in kill).

Here are some of the 3 pranks: (Please do not attempt this on your computer)

1. Creating 1000's of folders completely automated

1. First off copy and paste this on your notepad.

2. Then save it as a .bat file.

In case you do not know how to save

- Under save as type choose all files

- Name your file whatever with a .bat at the end

That's all save it and try running on your friends computer.

If you want to mask it, simply create a shortcut, change the name of the icon and the icon image.

2. 'Blue Screen of Death'

This prank is really classic, simply download the blue screen of death image and put it as your wallpaper.

3. Mouse inversion (Is it left or right? Arrgh..)

1. Press start and click on Control Panel

2. Click on Hardware and Sounds

3. Go to mouse and click on buttons and you should be able to see this:

4. Follow as instructed, tick that checkbox to switch the primary functions between the two buttons.

5. Click on apply and click ok and close the control panel and wait as your friend rages at you for messing up his or her computer.

Remove your Software from PC and extend your trial period?

Hello and today I will be sharing with you on how to remove software from PC.
Now I know most of you uses the uninstaller from the control panel that uninstalls the software.

Well, in a way it works fine and okay. However, what about the traces of files left behind?
With that I mean some remaining TEMP files, and most important of all your registry.

Cleaning up your registry together with your files can be quite a bother. In fact it is impossible, although it won't take a rocket scientist to figure out where the registry files are, to a regular user of a software like you and me?

No thank you.

So therefore I would like to introduce a very useful software called Revo Uninstaller.
Revo uninstaller allows you to remove ALL traces of a particular software you uninstalled and it is very useful. Especially when you want to EXTEND your trial period.

Yes, ever wondered why even after you have uninstalled your trial software and reinstalling them thinking that the time period will reset back to maybe 30 days when it didn't?

That's because when you uninstall the trial program, it doesn't remove the registry file that states the time left for your trial version and therefore despite how many times you install and uninstall, it will just say your time is up.

This software allows the FULL uninstallation of the software and allow you to use the trial software infinitely. This won't work for all but will work for majority of the software.

8 Google Facts to surprise you!

Today I will take some break from talking about the normal stuff to surprise you with some interesting facts about Google.

Number 1: Google estimates that an ad on it's homepage would cost $10 million. (WTFF??)
unfortunately this ad space is not for sale.

Number 2: The name Google is actually a misspelling of the word googol, which is a mathematical term meaning a 1 followed by a 100 zeros.

Number 3: Google doesn't use lawnmowers to cut it's grass. In 2009, they rented 200 goats to chow down on their grass in their HQ. (I bet that day must be Earth Day.)

Number 4: Google's homepage is available in over 80 languages, they even have an alien language called star trek 's klingon in case of any alien invasion. (Probably not in another 100 years I guess... )

Number 5: Google has it's own dinosaur called Stan. The T-Rex skeleton now lives at their California HQ. (Not bad.)

Number 6: Yahoo! Turned down the chance to buy Google for $1 million during 1997. Today Google is worth $200 billion while Yahoo! just $20 Billion.

Number 7: Google's first tweet is I’m "01100110 01100101 01100101 01101100 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101100 01110101 01100011 01101011 01111001 00001010" basically it means 'I'm feeling lucky'. Well, not so lucky for Google since Google in estimate lost $110 million for the button since it skips all the ads where Google makes their money from and take the users to the top their search results.

Number 8: Google has more than 1 million server - which is 2% of the world's server. and Google receives 1 billion search request every single day.

Interesting isn't it? This is how much you can do with money.

Hello, this time we are going to talk about how to increase your earnings in adf.ly. Forget bots or scripts. This is for real. Anyway, first you will need a link in which people can click on. You can do a YouTube video offering people downloads for a software or something else. This method is a sure way to increase your earnings, however with a chance that you will drive your visitors away from your content. So its your choice whether you want to use it or not, but experiment! Maybe it will work out for you.

You might want to use this method if you want slightly higher earnings without forcing you to resort to surveys.

Hi and welcome to my next post, this post is going to be a very simple one. Just a guide on how to repeat YouTube videos on Autopilot meaning you don't have to listen to songs on YouTube and having to press the repeat button all the time just to re-listen to it.

First, you will need a YouTube link, for example the link below:

Remove the 'http://www.' part and at the end of YouTube replace it with a repeat.
This is how it would look like

Now all you have to do is press enter and it will redirect you to this webpage called www.listenonrepeat.com and you can listen to your music non-stop.

How to Remove Blogger's Navigation bar

Why do you want to remove a navigation bar? This is a question I want to ask you. I mean it is okay to 'remove' it. But I would like to understand why. Anyway, you can comment your reasons later. Let's see why you should or should not remove it.

Why should you remove it?

It looks more like a website than just one blog. Useful for those who has custom domains, the very reason you will want a custom domain is mainly because you are writing about your profession, or perhaps you are doing a topical blog.

How to remove it?

It is very simple to remove it. Follow this steps below:

1. Login to your blogger dashboard.

2. Click "Layout"

3. Click "Edit HTML"

Then add in this code bold below, and add it in the the portion exactly to the position where the red box is:

#navbar-iframe {display: none !important;}

Once you are done with that, preview it first to see if the nav bar is gone, at the same time this is to check to ensure that you didn't accidentally mess up the HTML code.

What happens when I want to restore it?

Very simple, just remove that piece of code and the nav bar should be back. It is just that easy to remove and get it back.

Having a unique blog can drive up visitors attention!

In this post it is all going to be about capturing people's attention! Sound simple? Not really of the case, if you would like to capture people's attention and let them stay with you, you have to be unique and today we will be talking about making your blog unique (yea just that I promise :D).

In order to make your blog unique, you can't just use the sort of template Blogger provides, those are more for personal bloggers! In fact some personal bloggers use customized template to express their feelings. Similarly, if you are doing a topical blog, you might want to choose a customized template that suits your blog's theme so when people visit your blog, they will be able to know what topic you will be talking about from one look of the template (Unless you choose template that belong to the classification of clean and elegant, otherwise your blog should have some nice colors to present to your audience.) From today onward, you can start to expect me posting some very nice and beautiful template that are... from WordPress. But don't worry, there are a lot of nice templates out there for you to choose from.

There is also something called audience retention, this means how long your audience stay on your blog. Please also know that your audience hate to wait. You practically have about 20 seconds to capture your audience attention, shown by a survey. This also includes the time it takes to load the site.

Another thing to add to your blog's uniqueness is none other than your header image, that is really what separates you from a brand to another. You can easily customize your header image using Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, Fireworks, or Paint.net if you don't have either of these tools. Paint.net is free for download over here: Click Here

Just add some image if you would like and your blog's name together and it will look very good. Like my Twitter and Facebook profile page I have a profile picture that is designed in Adobe Fireworks. Some cool font and effects can really make your image stand out (Although I won't say mine is a very well done one...)

So in conclusion, having a good customized blog with your own blog name as your blog header, people can easily identify your blog! Not to mention the use of favicon. Favicon are icons that you find beside your blog's header title like the example below:

That is called a favicon, a small little icon that will represent your blog. You can generate your own favicon over here: Click Here

Of course you must have your own image use first in order to convert into a small little icon. But remember, when making the image, it is recommended that you try to make it small as if you do big image size design, the favicon picture might be a little blurry when you resize it.

Disable startup programs on Windows 7

Do you think that there is just too many startup programs when you turn on your computer? Wish that they won't run and make them run later when you actually NEED them? Well, wish granted, it is very easy to disable some startup programs.

1. Go to the start menu and search for "msconfig"

2. Then this window should popout

3. Now go to the startup tab and start to uncheck the boxes of programs that you don't want to startup and click apply, then ok.

4.After that it will prompt you to restart, you can choose not to restart as they are startup programs , so once you startup your computer again, these startup programs will not start until you manually start them.

Please beware that you know what you are doing when you are disabling services, some of these services are important to run a device or a program. If you disable them, you cannot start them by starting the program, you must manually re-enable the service through computer management. Won't touch on this now since it is not our main priority. Will go on to that the next time.

Blogger Trick: Embedding PDF files, Powerpoint slides and more into blogger

Have you always wanted to add in your own PDF or powerpoint document and embed it into blogger? Well now you can with Scribd!
Look below for an example of a embedded document of Microsoft word (This is used for my recent school research on Vatican City) :

This is how you add your documents regardless whether they are word, pdf or powerpoint and even more. They would all work.

Next, upload one of your document, it can be any of them.
Once you are done, you should see this page, click on the document name and you should see this:

"Hmm, lemme check my Facebook", I turned on my computer and check my profile page, "WTF? I lost one friend!!??", "But I have over 500 friends, how am I suppose to know who deleted me? Not like I can remember them all!!!".

Ever had such frustration? Where you have no idea who deleted you as friend but you have no idea at ALL as to who deleted you.

Remove Facebook Timeline + New Chat feature. (Alternative Way)

Hello once again! This time I will present to you an alternative way of removing your Facebook timeline and the new chat.

This is a quick looong Social Reviver settings:

1. Remove Facebook timeline. This will allow you to view your profile page without the timeline however, your friends will view your profile in timeline mode.You can also choose if you want to see the Timeline or the old profile for pages and profiles individually.

2. Old Facebook Chat function: This will mean you can only see your online friends, however with this extension will have extra features including limiting your availability to certain people.

3.There is also another experimental feature that allows you to hide the 'seen' message that when you read it, they will not know about it. However as stated this is an experimental feature and may not work as intended.

4. Stick the blue bar on top: So when you scroll down, the blue bar stick on the top. But this is useless now that Facebook has already implemented this feature already.

Hello readers I hope you are feeling great and all because if you aren't, you might want to try this out on one of your friends (perhaps to relieve stress?)...

I heard that there is also an iPhone app for this, so why not give it a try and search for it on iTunes?

This awesome website not only allows you to mask your caller id, but also allows you to mask your voice that makes it impossible for you friends to figure out who is calling them. Although be warned that ISD rates applies for the use of this script (ISD is an international rate, depending on your location charges may differ. The WHOIS record for the location where the number is given from is private).

First step: Select the country you are in. If you can't find your country in the list, too bad...
Second Step: Enter the caller id you would want to display. Do not modify the first two digits.
Third Step: Change your voice. Choose whichever pitch you want.
Lastly: Click on 'Get me a code'

Once you are done, they should present you with a number to dial from:

Your all in one instruction image.

Call the number and input the code when prompted. Then it should redirect you to your friend's number and scare the living daylights out of him, hehe.

YouTube's new experimental design

Hello readers! This time I will be sharing YouTube's latest redesigns. Although it is still in experimental mode (I suppose that is alpha) it is still pretty cool to get a new refreshing design on YouTube.

The design itself is not bad since I only got to see the homepage. Not exactly an entire homepage revamp but there are still some minor changes which we can observe. Look at the photo below. Click to enlarge it.

For example, look at the left panel. It has been switched to a 'only subscriber' panel. The trending videos or popular video tabs are gone.

You will also notice that instead of the original black layout, it is a white background. The center panel is slightly wider. Presumably the left panel width has been shortened to allow more space for an excerpt and larger thumbnails to catch your attention.

Same goes for the right panel, it has been lengthened on the width so the thumbnails will appear bigger than the original one.

Since it is only an experimental design, we cannot expect that this design will come out officially on YouTube. Google might even scrap it, for all you know and reintroduce a new interface.

For Google Chrome: Open up the javascript console using ctrl+shift+j and paste the script below and click enter.

For Firefox: Ctrl+shift+k in order to open the javascript console

Scan for malicious content on a website before you visit them!

Nowadays loads of internet scams and viruses have taken on birth these days which is very sad. People in the old days can search for what they need or want without an antivirus program whatsoever. However, it is very different nowadays, websites and viruses are getting easier and cheaper to make and anyone with knowledge on coding can easily do this and what's worse they did it anonymously. So they can always create another site where they can distribute malicious code clean and free.

Now I would like to introduce to you a new website that allows you to scan for malicious content before you even enter the site. Highly recommended for those without any antivirus software.

Google Front Page 'Hack'

Hello readers! How have you been lately? This time I will share with you one of Google's 'hack'. No we are not going to hack Google's database whatsoever. Their security is impossible to penetrate through. Rather, as the picture above implies, this little hack allows you to change the original 'Google' to to whatever you like. Like mine I have changed it to the name of my blog.

Pretty cool huh? You can try this in your school; if you dare :D

Here's how you do it:

1. First off you will need to install Mozilla Firefox. (If you already have installed it, skip to step 2)
If you want to download the latest Firefox beta version, click here

2. Install Greasemonkey addon as well as My Own Google Text (Greasemonkey addon) on your firefox browser.

3. After you have done, head to google.com (only google.com will work) double click on the Google text and a prompt box will pop up.

4. Input your text and colour then click change.

5. The changes should be made and the Google's homepage will display whatever text you added.
