Can Meditation Be So Easy and Quick as Omharmonics Says?

Stumbled upon this site Omharmonics. They provide expert prepared audio to help you meditate easily and attend the peaceful state of mind as quickly as possible.

I love the following video. Yes, it's a bit of sales pitch promoting their audio program but it discusses on many important aspects on meditation like how meditation can help you improve different aspects of your life or why most people fail to meditate in proper way?

And finally don't forget to download the Free Meditation Audio they are offering. It's really wonderful. I always keep it in my Nokia E7 and I feel very peaceful while listening.

Now a days I am reading, listening and watching lots of things about meditation. Though different people offers different methods but meditation itself is a must do to live your best life.

8 Simple Steps to Avoid or to Get Out of Down Phase

Biggest challenges we face in our personal or professional life is often due to the fact that we drift from the positive feeling frequency and start sinking into negative emotions like sadness/depression/frustration/fear/anger. It's okay and natural to feel down sometimes but it's very important to pick ourselves up asap. Considering ourselves as victim of fate, circumstances and cherishing the sympathy of ourselves and others are nothing but staying within the comfort zone. We should learn to get out of that comfort zone and take responsibility over our thoughts, feelings, words and actions.

Some tips for u ( worked for me well) to avoid or to get out of down phase:

1. Read/listen/watch something inspirational/positive/uplifting daily without miss. Make it your most important habit. Best after waking up and before going to sleep.
2. When u feel down don't shut yourself off from the world, listening sad songs, watching tragedy movies, pushing your head under your pillow.
3. When u feel down, do something u love, something what excites u- listening music/watching movies (+ve one :-)/walking for a while/painting/dancing...anything u love.
4. Find out your "Emotional Switches" -things/activities/people that can uplift your mood quickly & when u start feeling down press these "Emotional Switches" as quickly as possible.
5. Try writing why are you feeling down. Sometimes I feel dumb & stupid after doing this. Because I can't find much real reasons to feel down actually. I laugh and get back on track.
6. Write your Blessing List often. What are the things you have in your life you should be grateful for. Be grateful for small gifts of life many don't have, like - our eyes/hands/a home to stay/food to eat...you can't finish the list I promise.
7. Stop talking/thinking/updating about what isn't working in your life and what you don't want. Shift your full focus to what you want in your life.
8. Make a conscious choice to make "Feeling Good" your 1st priority every moment.

Second, they think launching a website is very costly affair buying domain name, web hosting and paying web designers. Let me show you how wrong they are.

Everyday I am asked which web designer built my website and my blog and how much did I spend on these. When I answer I built both my my website and my blog myself and spent Rs. 3,000 maximum in a year, most people can't believe actually. So let me help you to have your very own website very easily and at an affordable price.

Keep Learning, Never Losing Focus on the Fundamentals:
Whatever I do, I try to do in such a way that every common person can follow. You know what, I built my website mostly using a very simple web page editor Microsoft Frontpage (Very similar to the MS Word you are accustomed with), through which you can design your website without any (or with very little) knowledge of scripting languages (coding languages for designing website). Now if you can have a bit basic knowledge of HTML with it, nothing can stop you from designing a super cool website. These are the fundamental knowledge and be very strong at it.

It's okay to have website/blog xyz.blogspot.com or xyz.wordpress.com, but isn't it better if you have a website or blog with xyz.com/xyz.co.in/xyz.in (very simply put these are called domain names) or something like that? Similarly though you can host your website/blog in services like blogspot/wordpress you can have much control over your website if you have your own webspace/webhosting (imagine a hard disk space accessible online).

Publishing Your Website
After registering your domain name and web hosting account you will get the further instruction from the service provider through Email.
Now few fundamental things about publishing your website-

Design all the web pages offline using HTML/Fronpage and then upload it to your hosting account. For this you'll need a FTP uploader like Filezilla or access ftp account from Windows 7 explorer without FTP client. You will need details like Hostname (generally ftp:xyz.com ), username and password (you will find in the email from your service provider).

First page or homepage of your website must be named as index.htm or index.html.

Don't forget to update your DNS settings. (can't discuss here, ask your service provider or Mr. Know-it-all Google).

Get Improvement Ideas from Other Websites and Experts:
Whenever you will find a superb website, try to learn from it. Add the features of the website you loved to your own website. Feel free to ask the owner of the website for help. In most cases (if they are not celebrity or jerk) they will love to guide you (for free!). Here are some websites from some of my friends, inspiration behind gradual improvement of my website/blog. It's Web 2.0 Era: So Make it Social:
Today websites are not just a portal of information, it's also a place to connect like minded people. So don't forget to add social features like Your Twitter Stream, Social Media Button, Google Friend connect, Facebook Page, Social Toolbar etc. May be I'll write a post about it in near future.

Good Commenting System:
It's absolutely essential to give your website visitors or blog readers chance to express their opinion and the commenting system should be such so that you can easily connect with the visitors and readers. Though there are many commenting system available, I will recommend you the best- Diqus.

Monetizing (With a Word of Caution):
There are many ways of earning from your websites or blogs, starting with Google Adsense. But let me warn you, don't get lured reading about the bloggers/site owners who are earning seven figure income sitting at home. That requires considerable effort and time. Don't waste much time for these if you are not absolutely sure about taking it as your primary career.

11. Google translate:

Communication was never so much easy. I have many friends who don't know english and I don't understand their language as well. So how can we read each other's mails or blog post? Simple! Using this magical tool.

Translate any page in other language to your preferred language.

Inspiration: What I found after communicating to many people around the world, that may be we speak or write in different languages, but language of our heart is same.

13. Lazarus: Form Recovery:

Now this is the ultimate extension to provide you Peace of Mind. If you are patient of high blood pressure and you lose temper everytime you lose all the data filled up in a form due to bad connection, this is a lifesaver (well if you are normal still you'll love it).

Lazarus saves everything you type so if the worst happens you can recover the whole form by simply clicking a menu item. The data can be encrypted and is saved on your machine so you know it's safe.

Personal Experience: I can't tell you how many times it saved my time. It works anywhere- while filling out forms, updating status in twitter/facebook/HootSuite.

14. Mashable:

If you love keeping yourself updated with latest news on Social Media, technology, gadgets, business, marketing and other techy stuffs, you must be a regular reader of Mashable. Now you can check new articles on Mashable without leaving your current page.

Even you can get the notification of new articles.

15. Orkut:

I know most of you tech savvy readers hate Orkut more than anything. But unfortunately most of our not-so-techy friends (childhood friends, school friends) who are still unaware of twitter or facebook, can be contacted on Orkut more often.

The orkut chrome extension allows you to receive orkut updates and scrap notifications. The popup menu allows you to quickly jump to a friends' page, search on orkut, visit your home/scrap/photos pages and share sites on orkut.

16. Power twitter for chrome:

As the name suggests, Power Twitter extension adds some extra power (read functionality) in your twitter website.

Few of my favorite functionalities are-

* It display embedded images from twitpic/flickr and videos from YouTube and other embedded medias too.

* It display the real title of the page shared through shortened url. (So I know where I am going before clicking a link).

Appeal: I know most of you use twitter through third party clients. May be this extension can bring back your love for our good old twitter website.

17. Rapportive:

This works more or less same as Gist. But its simpler and lighter to use.

See which one you prefer.

18. Readability:

I know how much distracted you become while reading an article on the net. Blame the ad, affiliate banner, tops posts links. Most of the time your attention shifts to some other thing.

This extension can help you to have a clutter free reading experience. Clicking the button, converts the page into a comfortable reading view right into the browser.

19. Read It Later:

Now a days we are flooded with information from email / twitter / facebook. Everytime we get a link to a fantastic article, is not always the best time to read the article. Again we don't want to miss the article too. So what we can do is to just click on the "Read It Later" bookmarklet and it will save the page to Read It Later site (you have to sign up for a free account) for your future reading.

One beauty of the service is you can access it from anywhere -browser, mobiles, tablets.

If you use Gravity (best Symbian S60 twitter client), you'll love to know that you can add any url to Read It Later from the application too!

20. Rescue time chrome productivity meter:

No matter how much you love to stay online, I am sure you don't want to waste your time. But you know it's very easy to get distracted online. So what you can do is to track your online activities and get back on track if needed.

RescueTime sits in the background and measures which site is in focus and for how long. It automatically stops measuring if your mouse and keyboard aren’t used for 2 minutes or more. It also allows you to manually stop measuring via a “pause” button. It shows you your total Chrome time, what percent of your browsing is “productive”, and how your browsing productivity

compared to hundreds of thousands of users across the world. You can check out detailed browsing stats to see how much time you spend on individual web sites and apps, which days your most productive on, and more.

Tip: Don't forget to signup for a free account and install the desktop version. It helps you keep track of all other application running on your PC too (only when you are online).

Top 30 Google Chrome Extensions to Live Your Best eLife: Part I

Don't worry I am not joining the already crowded league of tech blogger. As my blog promise to help you live your best life, and as most of us live online life 24x7 now-a-days (that's not very good way of living though ), I couldn't resist myself sharing these awesome tools to enhance your eLife (online life)- to make your eTasks easier, faster and more productive. Oh! I forgot- you will get peace of mind too! Turst me. So here comes the list of Google chrome (if you still not using the fastest & smartest browser, shift to it now!) extensions that changed dramatically my way of living online.

1. Add to Amazon Wishlist:

I love this extension because it keeps track of all the things in the Internet I wish for (Books/DVD/Games/Gadgets and lot more...my wish list is a long one). Not necessarily I buy those things from Amazon.

When you see something you'd like on any website, just click the Add to Wish List button, enter comments in the dialog window that opens, and save by clicking the Add to List button. The item will then appear on your Amazon Wish List.


To view your Amazon.com Wish List or create a new one for use with this extension, go to http://www.amazon.com/wishlist.

Inspiration: This extension can help you to design your dream list. First step in getting what you want is "knowing what you want".

2. Aperture Highlights:

Now this is a super cool extension which quench my thirst for knowing more.

After installing the extension whenever you are reading any webpage and want to know more about something, just highlight the word and click "Learn More" pop up button. Voila! You will be shown every relevant information on the net-links, photos, videos,maps, social networking profiles about the topic. Isn't it great? No need to google it opening a separate tab.

Inspiration: As Robin Sharma says "Only curious survive". In today's world, getting yourself up-to-date with information is very important.

3. Aviary Screen capture:

If you take screenshots (specially if you are a tech blogger or designer) you are using some application for it for sure), keep on installing and uninstalling applications one after another and still not satisfied, your search ends here.

Best advantage is that no need to install any software, it's just a browser extension, so you can use it from anywhere.

If you are taking blogging seriously and using the blogger platform, this extension is a must have.

You must have heard the advice from pro-blogger that to build relationship with other bloggers in your niche, you can write followup post on some other blogger's post. For that this extension can be very useful

Once you add the BlogThis! button to your browser toolbar, blogging will be a snap (or rather, a click). Click the button to open Blogger in a new application window. The new post is pre-populated with a link to the web page you're on, as well as any text you've highlighted on that page. Edit the post to your liking and post it instantly to your blog!

5. Clip to Evernote:

What can I say about this extension? This extension (and its desktop version) is my absolute favorite all rounder application.

Whenever you are surfing through webpages, and need to remember something from the page for further reference, this extension can serve your task best.

Just select the portion of the page you want to remember and click on the extension. You'll get a preview box to select Title, Tag, Notebooks, comments before saving the portion.

Further you can see the notes taken from Evernote website (you need to sign up for a free account) or from the desktop application.

Tip: Don't forget to install the desktop version. It will give you some interesting added functionality like taking screen shots, it can search texts within images stored in evernote! You can use Evernote as your daily Journal, dairy, blog post editor, photo album, book script or anything you want.

6. Digg This Page:

If you digg interesting articles frequently, this extension can save lot of your time. You can submit any article to Digg with a single click.

Inspiration: You must have heard the advice "Give what you want". So if you have written some great posts in your blog and want other people to submit it to digg, why don't you submit some interesting articles from their blog to Digg first?

7. Email this page (by Google):

If you are helpful enough to mail everytime any important/interesting articles you find on the net, this extension can be your assistant.
Select the portion of the page you want to share and click on the 'mail' button, an email will be created with the "Title of the page as the subject" and selected portion (upto certain extent) of the text and link of the page as the body of the mail. So that you can easily share with others through email.
Note: If you are wondering in the age of Facebook and Twitter who shares through Email, well I do. Because I prefer communicating through Email to all those who are very special for me. Information we share in twitter is mostly lost in the information overload, so if you don't want you friend/colleague miss the article, better send it to email id.

8. Gist:

When someone sends me an Email, I prefer to know more about the person, social media presence and love to connect with the person. Wouldn't it be better if you can see a photo and twitter/facebook (and many more info) profile link of person who sends you an Email? This extension provides this function in the Gmail sidebar.

Tip: Don't forget to open a free account on Gist website. It will maintain all you social contacts at one place.
Take advantage of the note function to add any note corresponding to a contact for further reference.

9. Google dictionary:

Double click on any word to view its definition in a small yellowish pop-up window.
You can also view the complete definition of any word or phrase using the address bar dictionary.

10. Google mail checker plus:

As much as I love Gmail, I love this extension too.

You can get notifications of new emails. By clicking on the red mail icon you can preview even view the email without leaving your current page. You can even archive, delete, mark as spam and perform other basic tasks from the drop down box.

When Things Go Wrong Keep Your Thinking Right

As you know from my last post that I am keeping myself away a bit from Social Media, but the topic I am going to share with you today is so powerful and magical, that I can't wait to share it with you all. Like me, you must be encountering many situations when everything goes wrong one after another, and you get stuck in a depressing down feelings. I always wondered about dealing with this uncomfortable situation, and searched for the solution. Atlast I discovered it.

First tell me, what do you do, when things go wrong in your life? Let me make it easy for you giving examples of some situations-

When you score bad in exam
When you have a disagreement with your parents
When you have a fight with your spouse
When your kid misbehaves with you
When you get stuck in traffic jam
When your friend doesn't receive your call
When you have some health problem
When you don't have enough money

If you are like me or most of the people, your immediate thought reaction must have been-

Shit! Now what would I tell my parents? They would be very angry with me? What if I get bad marks again in the next exam and again in the next..? And I became a failure? What if I never get a good job? My life is finished...
Grrr!!! Parents never understand our generation. These old fellas forgot their young age. Why don't they let me live my life in my own way? They aways behave like this. They are never going to change...
Enough is enough! I can't tolerate more of him/her. He/she is never satisfied, no matter how much I love or whatever I do for him/her. I sacrificed my this & that & blah blah blah...I did this and that & blah blah blah for him/her. Still he/she isn't a bit grateful to me? Can I ever be happy with this person?
Oh my God! How could I give birth to this spoiled brats? They don't know any manners.. They are doing whatever they want. They don't care about us.
This bloody traffic! Feeling like punching that red signal. Everytime I am in a rush, I get stuck in this traffic jam...Uhh!!!
Why isn't Sam[name of your friend] receiving my call? Something wrong? Is he upset with me? Is he trying to avoid me? Is he dead? ....
I am so sick. My head is tearing apart. Whole body aching. Can't digest anything. Can't sleep at night. I am going to die...
Oh God! I am broke. How can I manage the whole month? I will starve to death...I am the unfortunate fellow. God gives so much to others and so less to me....

Now let me remind you the most powerful law of the universe "Whatever we think predominantly, manifests in our lives". So can you understand why more and more negative things keep happening in your life? The day I realized this idea, I couldn't sleep whole night. From that day I took a commitment "When things go wrong in my life, I have to keep my thinking right". Like, what could have been the better thought response to above situations?

Well I scored a bit less in this exam, but I am going to be more serious with studies and I am going to score well in the next exam.
Yup! Parents have different opinion than mine. But it's okay, they were grown up through different situations. They love me and they care for me. That's why they are concerned. Very soon we will be developing good mutual understanding.
He/she must be going through some difficult time. He/she loves me so much, always understood me. I shouldn't be upset with her. We have such a great relationship. How can I judge him/her with these few moments of fight? Thank you God for such a loving relationship.
I can understand you kid, what you are going through. I have been through your age. I am going to stand beside you whatever happens.
I am going to get the rest of the road clear. Wow! So many interesting people to see around. So many beautiful car around...let me check them out till the signal gets green.
Sam must be busy for something. He'll call back soon. Thank you God for such a wonderful friend.
Thank you God for keeping me alive. These small health problems are nothing. There are many people around the world, who are suffering much pain than mine. I am perfectly fine. If I need medicine, I'll go to doctor and get well soon.
Ok...I am little bit short of cash. Good sign. All the richest people in the world had been broke at some point of time. Let me design a plan to increase my cashflow...

What do you think? These are not any theoretical advices my friends. I applied this principle in my life and magically my relationship with my parents, spouse, friends improved. I am enjoying better health and much much more income. I am having peace of mind.

5 Reasons Why I Kept Myself Away from Social Media

You must have noticed that I was vanished from the Social Media for a long period. Haven't written any new blog post, not updating social networking sites much either. I know you people missed me and also upset with me for that, but I want to share with you today why I did that. Because I feel may be social media is stealing time for your real life priorities, but you haven't noticed or got addicted to it.

Why I kept myself away from Social Media

1. My Priorities: I am not saying spending time on social media is useless, but it's not among most important priorities for many people including me. I know there are many social media experts out there who'll try to convince you that if you are not active on social media, you are missing something great, but let me tell you the truth- that's far from the truth. To me inspiring people in real life is more important than inspiring online. Spending time with my family and friends is more important than interacting with new people on social networking sites. Reading books is more important than surfing through overwhelming number of internet articles.

2. It's Okay Not to Blog: If you are earning pretty good from your blog or you are rich enough not to worry about earning, you can go for writing blog posts whole day long. I am not against sharing your story occasionally with the world, but be careful whether you are ignoring your real career to give time to blogging. If you think blogging is the easiest and best way to make money, be famous, make a difference - you are wrong. For my business more time I spend talking to people, better for my success and also for success of those people too. So I decided not to blog much.

3. Don't Just Post What You Love, Do What You Love: Disadvantage of being addicted to social media is people write blogs, tweets or update about what they love so much, but they forget to spend time doing what they love. So if you love to sing, dance, write, play or any'thing'; don't just go on writing blogs or updating on those, rather spend more time singing, dancing, writing, playing or doing that'thing'. So I concentrated more on inspiring and helping people to live their best life than updating about it.

4. I Need Time to Think: We all should have some time to think - think about our days, our life. What are our values, what are our dreams, what are we doing for that. How can we do something better. We all need time to talk to ourselves. 'Retrospection' is very important to discover our best self. But when we are signed up to 'n' number of social sites, and updating every little activity like 'eating','sleeping',etc; catching up with thousands of contacts, posting photos and videos; how can we get time to think? Day can't be bigger than 24 hours.

5. Avoid Distraction: Though I love social media very much, I find it very distracting too. When I read some angel blogger's success story I get hooked to improve my blog, improving content,design, SEO, subscribers, facebook fanpage followers, page views, google analytics, google adsense....
When I open twitter in the morning, and find an interesting post on mashable, I went on reading the article, and suddenly notice a compelling trending story, which tells me names of 20 sites through which I can build my online brand and I went on checking those sites...
So on and so forth. But at the end of the day, I feel guilty because being distracted I neglected something which was more important to me.

So is this the farewell post in my blog? Will I delete all of my social networking accounts? Nope! He he! I won't do that. Why? Because I love you people. I met many amazing person while using social media. You really mean a lot to me, how can I abandon you? I will just be more focussing on my offline affairs for coming few years. Hope you can understand and keep loving and supporting me as you always did. Share your view on my decision.

How Twitter FollowFriday Can Make Your Fridays Special

If you are using Twitter and know what FollowFriday is, then you know what I am talking about. You will enjoy the post. But if you don't know what Twitter and/or #FollowFriday is or how this can make your Fridays special then, you can't afford to miss reading the post.
After the success of yesterday's post How Many Superheroes You Have Within Yourself I was thinking what should I write today. Then I thought why don't I write on FollowFriday when today is Friday! But co-incidentally Sumanadi gave me a link to her amazing post on this amazing Friday culture of Twitter. I couldn't stop myself from writing it.

Technically Twitter is another social networking site, through which you can share your everyday experiences through text, images, video updates to a selected group of friends or with the world. It's also the best place to find breaking news (faster than News Channel, and ofcourse than newspaper. Lol!)

Just let me add something here, if you are not on Twitter, you are going to regret one day. (Ya! You can call me Twitter addicted or crazy but it's not just my realisation, give your head a little spin and ask "Why the hell celebrities, sportstars, even big businesses all are using Twitter? They weren't so interested in other social networking sites before! Can you imagine Shahrukh Khan using Orkut?Hohoho:p Never! " )
