Thank you Ash for this reminder, it reminds me so much of the verse in Romans that says, "we have ALL sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.".

Thank you for this article. I am also at a point in life right now where I am experiencing what you have experienced in my relationship, and I can testify that it is only by His Grace and Mercy that we are able to not commit bigger mistakes and sin. I am reminded of Psalms 37:24,

"though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand."

God bless you. :)

Yes, Laura!! It has been so wonderful the way we've connected and the way our journeys have sometimes reflected each other. I am privileged to know you, as well!!

You are so right - it is a journey toward humility and authenticity and it can be *quite* painful at first, but leads to so much rest and freedom!!

And He's brought me around full circle, only on a much higher level - to understand that His guidance is only for our very best!

*hugs* back, Laura! Thank you for sharing your heart.

Absolutely, Robin!! I will pray for you and thank you for doing the same for me. No matter what our situation looks like, the struggle is the same when we can't turn to ourselves and our circumstances for comfort, and need to learn to turn to God alone! So easy to say to someone else and so hard to do!! But be encouraged, He is holding you, your dreams, and each passing day and wants to fulfill you NOW.

Love, Jessica

Barbara and Janna, thank you so much for your perspectives on this!! They are really eye-opening and SO true. Pride IS the problem. It's amazing that even something we think is good (our own righteousness) is something that "limits" God in our lives because of PRIDE. Looking at it this way, I am THANKFUL for what I went through, and that God has brought me to the end of myself. At the end of me, HE BEGINS. That's the only thing that will ever last, and get me anywhere worth getting.

Janna, I can totally identify with you. While our situations have differences, at the heart they are exactly the same. We fall. Pride is what goes before the fall. And hopefully then, after we've really fallen, we are then ready for Him to truly come in and lift us up. *HUGS*

Yes! It's amazing how "empty and afraid" you discover yourself to be once you can't rely on any of those things anymore. It's why God wants to fill us up with HIM.

I felt the great desire to share this here at YLCF particularly because I wondered how many other girls might share these struggles, and I wish it was something I could have read back then! I'm so glad this struck a chord with you and I'm sending prayers your way.

Rachelle, thank YOU for sharing!! I have found so very, very often that God knows exactly what we need and when we need it. I have been touched, encouraged and renewed countless times by others opening up their hearts, and I am so glad if you have experienced this through me opening mine.

From what you briefly said about "perfect families," it sounds like some of our experiences may have been similar. The hardest part about some things is feeling like we're alone in our experiences, but the truth is, we are NEVER alone.

God bless YOU, sister in Christ!! His spirit will continue to love and minister to you.

Love this. Thanks for the reminder, Jessica. Awesome quote. Made me dig out my C.S.Lewis (something I've been scared to do since losing brain cells in pregnancy LOL). Good stuff. We DO have something to celebrate.

What a great quote! I really like his description - "this quieter love enables them to keep the promise." It brings to my mind the peace and calm my husband provides me and how I feel when I'm with him (most of the times!).

Thanks for sharing this.

Great poem, but I can't help thinking that if girls are praying for such husbands, there must be boys going through some serious storms and trials to shape such men, but as the title says it is what GOD Wants.

Great website!

God Bless,
James.
