I have to re address the last post and apologise to the person who offered to donate the digital camera. There was a communication problem that caused the camera not to change hands. Such a shame like two ships passing each other in the night.

It is a hopeful Martin who now waits in Yambol for any offers. Again I must stress I have offered to barter with hard cash ($20) that has been donated and 100,000 EC credits that I have saved up over the last year.

There must be someone out there with a digital camera they don't use. Give me a call.

I've Been Let Down

Well the camera hasn't materialised and I have heard nothing from the donor who was due in Bulgaria on the 21st of this month. "Don't' rely on anyone but yourself", was a piece of Bulgarian advice that was given to me a few years a go here. I must say that rings a truth in the time I have lived here.

My blog is therefore on hold again and I am quite disappointed. My earnings are less than £40 a week working a 40 hour week and I just can't afford three weeks pay to buy the most basic of digital cameras. It remains for me to wait again for another promise of a camera. I just can't believe that my offer of 100,000 EC credits and $20 that has been donated has not been taken up. That's over $120 in old blogging money!

Camera Now Due - Also A Tip For Bloggers

My donor for the camera should be in Bulgaria bow and I await with baited breath for him to contact me so I can start snapping away again. It may seem strange to people why I can't buy a cheap digital camera here, but unless you know Bulgaria and how much money people earn working here you won’t fully realise how hard up people are. I make a little money by writing sponsored articles on my other sites, but this is for supporting the Bulgarian family who have taken me into their home in Yambol.

While I wait for my donated camera to arrive I thought I’d take the opportunity to tell you about am article submission site called Article Alley that you may want to consider using if you write articles with your pictures. It is free to register and once in just a few moments to post your article for into the date-base for other reader on the site to read or even consider republishing with full credit to you the author.

I have been using Article Alley now for a few weeks and it has been of good benefit getting more readers checking out the article and clicking onto the site where it originated from, hence more traffic and of course more chance of getting more work from sponsors who want posts written for them. You can also use other authors’ posts on your own blog if you are stuck for a post or having blogger’s block.

Well this aside I really do hope that the camera turns up and I am on the streets of Yambol again, it feels like a lifetime away since I last did that. Thank you all who read this for being so patient.

Someone at last has been kind enough to donate a digital camera. It is quite an old Konica, only 1.3 mega pixels and no cable, but should at least start me up again with the Yambol Daily Pictures, that is if I can get a cable to download to my laptop. It is due here after the 21st October so only a couple of weeks and I will be up and running again.

I still of course would like to get a better model (at least 4 mega pixel quality) and my offer of 100,000 EC credits and $20 stands. In case I didn’t mention it I would covert eh cost of postage via Paypal.

Some visitors may have noticed that I have not posted for a while. This is because my digital camera has given up on me. The lens it permanently locked up therefore I cannot take any photographs right now. I do not have financial funds for a new one but have offered 100,000 Entrecard credits and 20 dollars that has kindly been donated towards another digital camera. Public Peaches Untouched In Yambol

It is the fruit season and peaches are in abundance in Yambol. You just have to look around in garden an you will see bright pink orange and yellow colours of the peaches in full ripeness. This picture was taken in a public area of Yambol and although many pass the ripe fruits are untouched by the public. They know they belong to someone who has cared for them and give total respect for that.

A Classic Bicycle In Yambol

I just love the bicycles of Yambol and found another one parked up today. A light blue form of transport that has rolled over millions of cobblestones since it was first mounted many years ago. Shame that these modern mountain bikes are taking over the big-wheeled versions here, I doubt whether they will last as long as these classic bicycles.

Another Yambol Street Another Planted Tree

Another Yambol street another tree planted, locals they certainly know about conservations. There are more trees being planted than being cut down here. This one has added protection with supports that surround the sapling. Let’s hope that it survives and provides more shade, more fuel for the winter wood-burners and probably food, depending on what variety it is.

A Brick Wall Built On A Yambol Street - Why?

As I walked along the Yambol side streets I came across a brick wall that had been built that sticks out from a house wall. It sees to have no purpose there at all. Perhaps the Bulgarian owners started something that couldn’t be finished or is to be finished. The wall looks like it has been there for some time and it remains a mystery. I don’t find seeing thing like this strange anymore, but I might have done a few years ago here.

Old Yambol Log Truck Newly Painted

This is a Yambol log truck that I found parked on a side street. It had been recently hand painted and looked like new although it may well be some 20 plus years old. It had been used for learner drivers looking at the blue ‘Y’ sign on the right hand side of the bumper. I just love the character of these trucks, which bump along when they are empty and roll along when topped up with the log winter fuel. The truck looks very happy with the bright new paintwork and smile.

A Lada Boot Full Of Yambol Homegrown Vegetables

A Lada boot full of homegrown vegetables is not a common sight in Yambol. Most carry their daily produce by hand, as the growing areas are close if not next to their homes. This instance however, the vegetables needed to be transported from some factory grounds where they were grown to home some 3 kilometres away to be barbequed and stored in the freezer for winter food. Notice the gas system in the Lada, half the price of petrol costs.

Galia And Her Niece Working In a Yambol Hardware Shop

This is a picture o my Galia and her niece working in a hardware shop. They work form 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM when there and perhaps get four or five customers a day. Times are hard in the retail trade worldwide and Yambol is no exception. Smoking and sitting outside in the sun takes up most of the day activities – That is seen as work in Bulgaria.

A Set Of Yambol Rustic Railings

These Yambol rustic railings were found not too far from where I live. It just typifies many of the components of a Yambol house where things are used day in day out as they work very well, but the fashion and façade doesn’t really matter at all. Everything is patched together ad hoc, but remains functional and that’s what is important. I just love this Bulgarian lack of pride in appearance, which after all is based mainly on materialism and one-upmanship.

Posters In Every Nook And Cranny In Yambol

Find a place and stick a poster on it is the name of the game in Yambol. It must have been a basketball player who stuck the top election poster about the traffic signs. No one does anything about fly posters, I see people going around in daylight in the public eye and no one bats an eyelid. They don’t’ last long though as you can see. They are soon covered up with more up to date posters and eventually fall off being weather beaten.

A Message On A Yambol Apartment Block

I am not too sure what this sign is on the side of a Yambol apartment block heading south. It has a kind of 3D effect and is a bit different another sign that was a traffic warning sign. Much better than a plain rendered wall I think. Whatever it means it is quite dated by the look of it so it may not be an advertisement but another communist time message.

A Yambol Tree With Lovely Coloured Bark

This lovely tree on a Yambol road bordering the Tundzha River just hit me with its colour on the bark. I spent ages just looking at this particular medley of colours and though how many other people actually would notice this? Not many locals, but then does anyone notice things like this on their doorstep?

A New Gas Metering System In Yambol City Centre

I caught sight of this network of gas piping on a newly built shop front on a sidewalk just south of Yambol city centre. It does have the warning signs on, but I did reflect on whether this type of design would be used in the UK, especially the use of glass, which could be broken quite easily. Bad thoughts Martin forget the past and live the future!

Yambol has its fair share of patterned windows and her is another one covering two floor of a town house. It just adds character to a space that would seem quite dead without it and of course create light within the internal staircase it looks into. A couple of broken panes fair enough, bit not enough to warrant repairs, the whole thing still works.

I found another interesting front door entrance to a Yambol town house. This one is in a porch so protected from the elements. I wonder how long those butterflies have been on those cute little windows? Notice the letterbox, you can only get a letter in it!

There are a few wedding fashion shops in Yambol, but this one is just on the fringe of the city centre. Galia always stops as we walk past as I try and drag her past. Wedding bells? No, just wedding dresses - They are fashion and Galia is a Bulgarian women with a major interest.

New Posters Appear On Yambol's Streets

With the elections well and truly in the past now both in Yambol and Nationally with a new government in session, the old political faces of old posters are being superseded with new posters. It won’t be long before all old election campaigning face will be covered over, a bit more interesting that politicians staring at you all day and night.

A Yambol Veterinary Clinic

A small veterinary clinic based just south of the centre of Yambol City. I used to live in a haunted apartment only 50 metres away from here and past it every day on the way to work. The graffiti is creeping in again of the sidewall, increasingly so. Such a shame American influence is hitting hard here on that front.

An Old Wooden Door To A Yambol Town House

It is quite usual to find most gate and door into garden in Yambol City house are made from metal. This one isn’t and has weather pretty well considering the extremes of weather Bulgaria throws at it. Again the sign of a house of merit is display above along with the usual poster of a past away family member, in this case a Baba.

You may think this is a picture of the posh Yambol Diana Hotel, but all you can see is the sign of the hotel. Another massive building has recently being built in from of it and taking the view of the Tundzha River where I am standing from. The prices haven’t drop in the hotel because of this though.

Yambol Walkway Dark With Tree Shade

I just love going into the linden tree lined walkway in the centre of Yambol. It is like going into a dark tunnel of nature with the canopy of leaves that block out all the light. a favourite walk for many people in Yambol as well with the attraction of fashioj shops lined up on each side.
