“Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.”

Julien de Smedt

My Philosophy

Nature always give human all they need and act as a medium of life cylce.

Its momentous cannot be ignored when an architect design a building.

For me, architecture is about how to befriend with the nature.

During my first year architecture life, i was taught by lecturer how to befriending

with a tree. On that time, many question marks were appearing on my mind.

How can human being befriending with a tree?

Tree, itself is a place of biodiversity of life. There are many organism living on

any parts of the tree : trunk, branches, roots and leaves. Tree is a place where

life is found and provide shade to cool down the earth surface.

Tree is our good friend.

The idea of personal studio is to create a workplace for architecture student

responding to the mother nature. Architecture students were living in the stress

and tension situation when they facing design problems. I think Green play a

big role in part our life to release stress and tension. Sometimes, it might be source

of learning point for us to gain inspiration.

The personal studio is located in between hill slode and the sea, wind is the major

benefit and i try to make use of it by providing lot of openings. The overall building

is shape following the contour and is blended without cutting off the trees.

Addenda Week10 - 18th-22th February 2010

2010-01-24T00:21:00.002+08:00

Former Addenda Week 2010 is know as Architecture Week. The scope of architecture week is linear to the architecture student only. In this 2010 architecture studio 300, we are making the big different and changes toward the archiweek. We as community decided to organise the architecture week not only for the architecture students but then try to involve all others major of falculty housing, building and planning. There are total of 7 majors in this field :Architecture, Quantity Survey, Building Survey, Town & Urban Planning, Building Technolgy, Project Management and Interior Design.

The "addenda" means a reference for previous architecture weeks, perception in form of relationship not just in the eye of Architecture students but also in terms of other students in faculty. The theme for addenda is "me atque tu" or also known as "me and you" and to create an implicit and explicit relationship in term of a very main criteria in each major.

Proposed "The Green Pulse" of USM Eco-Hub Development, University Science Malaysia, Penang

2010-01-19T02:25:00.010+08:00

‘The Green Pulse' of USM Eco-Hub
“100 species a day or 30,000 species of animals or plants a year have been disappeared.”– National Geography.

If this continues, those in next generation will see them only at the museum or will hear them in tale.

USM Eco Hub site is in the quite, green lung and enrich with species of flora & fauna. The future development of Eco Hub will be marked as the reference for the campus & state government in the sense of sustainability, green development and transferring knowledge of ‘Green Earth Awareness’ to the public and it’s coincide with the USM apex University’s moto.

The proposed Eco-Hub is to be built will be pave the foundation for the developing the ecosystem education to change our mind set toward nature and the life, to life centered from human-centered, to sustainable from growth-oriented and to invisible from visible.

To that end, the Eco-Hub Design was worked out based on THREE principles of design philosophy.

“Low Impact” – aimed at minimizing the development for ecosystem conservation.
“High Contact” – aimed at various contact with the earth and the surrounding buildings & trees.
“Co-Breathing” – aimed at breathing together between the Nature and the Human.

Through the principles, we will achieving the “The Green Pulse”, a string beat of the life, which allows the nature breathing that serves the source of campus environment and the human breath that reminds the value of the USM campus & our future.
