Yankees complete sweep against the Rangers

The New York Yankees won against the Rangers for the 4th time in a row (i think) against the Rangers as they complete the sweep.The Yankees had Brian Gordon getting the nod for his first start after being signed right after yesterdays game.He went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs in the game as did CJ Wilson but through 8 innings.Hector Noesi who was the other candidate to start the game for the injured Colon who has been pitching like an ace lately pitched a scoreless 1 2/3 of an inning.David Robertson also pitched a scoreless 8th while Mo pitched a scoreless 9th and 10th.Cory Wade was the winning pitcher in his second day with the Yankees while allowing no runs or hits to allow Brett Gardener to hit Grandyman in for an RBI single.The offense was just enough to win the game.Robinson Cano was the offensive star ln the game as he scored twice by RBI hits by Russell Martin and Jorge Posada and moved Grandyman up to second as he got hit by a pitch and ultimately allowed Gardy to hit him in.

Final Notes: The Yankees have been the team that they have been craved to bas everybody else in MLB.The best offense and the best bullpen.Along with that great pitching.Over the the last 3 games the Yankee starters have allowed runs no more than 4 runs and the bullpen has yet to allow a run to come in when they come to relief. The offense in the last two 3 days have scored a total of 27 runs while the pitching staff allowed 8 runs over 27 innings.

Big Tex and Grandyman having a …….. Race!

Curtis Granderson and Mark Teixeria are not just in the homerun in which they and Jose Bautista have 21 Homers.But they are in a race for having the most runs scrored d RBI’s.As of now Big Tex has more more RBI’s but Grandyman has more runs scores thanks to Big Tex for hitting him in.In a way everytime Big Tex is up there to bat Grandyman ia helping. Him out by getting the RBI in for Tex while he Tex helps him with Runs Scored.

Yankees mash Ranger in Game 2

The New York Yankees offense is clicking on all cylinders and the pitching was comparable to our ace CC.Ivan Nova went 5.2 innings and allowed 4 runs in the first two innings.He then settled after that to allow the Yankees to fight back.He left the game with a score of 6-4 with the Yankees winning.Personally I think Ivan can become one of the greatest pitchers to play for the Yankees because of 1 pitch.The Breaking ball I saw tonight was his best pitch.if Ivan could work around that and discover a pitch (other than the fastball) that could fool a batter than we got a pretty good #2 or #3 pitcher.The only thing I really saw was that Nova gave up some runs in the first inning,which he is usually really good at not allowing the offense to do any damage in.other than that he was pretty decent compared to CC Monster.The offense which was not led by Curtis Granderson but by fellow Homer hitting Mark Texieira.Big Tex had 4 RBI’s that came off two homeruns which came from both sides and it was the 11th time in his career that he has done that.Similar to Boston Red Sox’s Adrian Gonzalez,Tex has had his share of RBI’s as in the last 24 games as he as 28 RBI’s and ll homeruns in that stretch.Big Tex was also great on the field as he doubled off Josh Hamiltion on a line drive that was hit straight towards him.He mainly doubled off Joshy becasue of his footwork.Don’t forget to tweet him for doing a great job today @teixeriamark25.Nick Swisher who was batting leadoff went 1-3 and got walked twice.The one hit that he got was a hard hit ball that Texas Rangers Gold Glove 3B Adrian Beltre couldn’t block and lost his glove as Swisher motored towards second base. Curtis Granderson had two runs scored and had a bad time in Center Field as he didn’t get a hit but was walked once and hit by a pitch.In the second inning two balls went over him and made the Rangers two runs in the inning and he was later hit a sinker to him in which he almost fail. Ramiro Pena started his first game for the season as he took over 3B as A-Rod was DHing.Ramiro Pena hit his 1st homerun and a single as he scored two runs on the night.The birthday boy Eddy or “Eduardo Nunez” had a great game as hit his 2nd homer of the season,had 1 RBI,1 Run Scored and 1 walk.Definsively he made one error when he tried to snoop the ball but it just got right past him. Other than that he made a pretty good play at second while he was in front of the bag.Robinson Cano had a single in the first and then a three-run homer in the 8th.

The Yankees also played small ball while playing long ball.In the first inning Rodriguez and Cano did a double steal and then Ed Nunezand Francisco Cervilli did it in the 7th.On a side note the Yankee Infield had 5 Homers.A-Rod who has been red hot in the last couple of games made history today.When Andrew Jones hit him in he became 17th all times in runs scored at 1,799 RS.A-Rod is also batting .343 and has 23 RBI’s in the last 43 games.

Pitching Notes: The bullpen did not let a run get by as Luis Ayala,Corey Wade who was signed today and Jeff Marquez.

Why things are coming around for the Yankees

As of late many injuries haven been happening such as Bartolo Colon,Joba Chamberlin and Derek Jeter. As players get injured and have to leave other players have to pick up the slack because back-up players really don’t have that much of an effect on the offense.Nick Swisher has been out of a slump for a while now but with each and every single day,Swisher is looking like 2009 form.Against the Rangers yesterday he went 2 -3 while getting a homerun and a double.Brett Gardener was being the player that I’ve always thought he would be. He was hitting clutch,stealing,scoring and rounding the bases at the blink of the eye.Eduardo Nunez who really doesn’t have any problems hitting but had a really nice RBI single against the Rangers.Alex Rodriguez has started to swing a hot bat as of late after playing through a slump and his BA has significantly grown.Other players such as Grandyman and Robbie have been about 1% better than what they usally are but when they play like that it’s tough to get better.

Yankee get a Double Win!

The New York Yankees destroyed the Texas Rangers by a score of 12-4.The Yankees also got a little help from The Tampa Bay Rays as James Shield threw a two hit shutout for third of the year.With the loss Tampa broke Boston’s 10 Game Winning streak in which they swept us and the Toronto Blue Jays.The loss also allowed us to recover from the game we lost to Cleveland by a score of 1-0.

Final Notes: Carl Crawford came back to his old stomping grounds arguably being the best Rays player to ever play and struck out with the bases loaded and later struck out by his old teammate James Shield.

Yankees destroy the Rangers in Game 1 part of a 3-Game Series

The New York Yankees defeated right hander Alexi Ogando for the second time this season although when we defeated him last time he didn’t get the loss and allowed him to be 7-0 when he entered todays game.Final Game:Yankees 12-Rangers 4.

CC took his 8th win while pitching 7 innings and allowing 4 runs in the 4th and 5th innings.
Curtis Granderson also hit his 20th homerun, had 4 RBI’s and with 2 Runs Scored as went 2 for 4
Brett Gardener kicked ass today as he went 3 for 4,with 4 RBI 3 Runs Scored.
Nick Swisher went 2 for 3 as he hit a homerun and a double and scored 2 runs himself.
Alex Rodriguez went 2 for 4 and recored 2 RBI’s on a double that scored Grandyman and Gardy.
Robinson Cano also went 1 for 4 with a Solo Shot that gave the Yankees there last and 12th run.

Final Notes : Derek Jeter was placed on the DL for 15 days with strained right calf.
