Jaksa Street Fiesta 2013

Jaksa street is one of famous street among bagpacker while they come to Jakarta

Jaksa Street Festival held one every year by the local young in the area

Festival show Jakarta art and culture, like Ondel-ondel, Tanjidor and Betawi (Jakarta native) martial art, there also city tour around the area using Bemo

This festival also serve the traditional kuliner of Jakarta, Kerak telor, toge goreng and also there is Beer called Bir Pletok, it use ginger instead of alcohol :)

This month me and my son Gibran went to Museum Geologi at Bandung with one purpose to do some sketch

Many big bones there, T-Rex, ancient elephant, ancient rhino and many other ancient animals :)

My son enjoy his sketch while many people staring at him

After done sketch we ask for museum stamp on our sketch

Nyiur at Anyer

Little city outside jakarta that near to Sunda Strait
Many Hotel and resort in this area, because people come here for holiday

Coral reef dominated the beach in Anyer so donot expect to much about white sand :)

Long weekend, need to get away from crowded of Jakarta for awhile

My friend suggest this hotel, new, nice view, infinity pool, price reachable...

So I booked the room for 3 day 2 night and enjoy family time there

View from infront of the hotel lobby, you can see the hotel built on the original contour, so you still can walk to outside from 4th floor and also the tree is still places trough the resto building

Misty mountain, yup its still in the morning, chill and nice air felt from my room's balcony

In this place you can found building material, tile, wood block, door, window, closet, roof tile ...many more

Petak Sembilan

Week end kali ini saya mencoba menghampiri wilayah petak sembilan di kawasan kota
Dan object yang menarik adalah Wihara yang ada di sekitar Petak 9.
Sebenarnya di wilayah ini kita bisa juga menemukan pasar, rumah dan bangunan tua, serta kesibukan masyarakat sekitar.
Pertama tiba sebenarnya saya berniat mensketsa pasar, karena terlihat mengasikkan, pasarnya terletak di sebuah jalan kecil, namun karena terlalu crowded saya memutuskan berpindah lokasi dan akhirnya membuka lapak di depan Wihara

Aroma asap hio telah tercium dari pintu masuk Wihara, terlihat orang membakar hio dan bersembahyang di Cing Te Yen Temple

Menurut seorang kakek yang ngobrol saat saya men-sket sebuah patung Singa penjaga, hanya bangunan Wihara yang tua saja yang memiliki patung singa penjaga, sepasang patung singa jantan dan betina di letakkan di gerbang masuk ke Wihara

Di area ini ada 3 buah bangunan utama, yang kurang saya suka adalah banyak sekali para pemburu sedekah yang berkumpul di halaman wihara, mereka menunggu para dermawan yang ingin memberikan sedekah bisa berupa uang atau makanan

Saya belum sempat masuk kedalam wihara hanya menggambar dari luar saja mungkin lain waktu, saya akan kembali lagi

Manila Sketravel

Perjalanan ke Manila - Philiphina kali ini adalah yang kedua kalinya bagi saya
Hampir sama dengan perjalanan-perjalanan dinas lainnya dari kantor tempat saya bekerja
Namun ada perbedaan pada perjalanan kali ini, saya merasa lebih antusias karena kali ini saya telah mempunyai hobi baru "sketching" dan ini merupakan perjalanan pertama saya keluar indonesia semenjak terkena demam sketch (yang obatnya adalah mengorat-oret pena di selembar kertas)
Dalam perjalanan kali ini saya mendapatkan waktu weekend..sempurna
Senin hingga jumat ngantor seperti biasa dan sabtu minggu nyeket seperti biasa :)
Saya tidak akan menceritakan bagaimana pekerjaan saya dari senin hingga jumat pfffhhh...
tapi saya akan sharing kenikmatan sketching saya selama di Manila

Kesempatan pertama untuk sket tentu saja saat berangkat dari Soekarna Hatta menuju Ninoy Aquino International Airport

Saya transit sesaat di Changi Airport, saat menunggu saya menyempatkan diri untuk men-sket sebentar

Hotel Picasso tempat saya menginap terletak beberapa blok dari gedung tempat saya bekerja, hanya berjalan kurang lebih sepuluh menit dari hotel - kantor
Kamar hotel lumayan bagus, namun view dari balkon kamar adalah gedung hotel lainnya :)

Waktu kerja di Manila dimulai jam 9.00 - 18.00, karena saya telah terbiasa dengan jem sibuknya jakarta, saya bisa menyempatkan diri untuk sekedar ngopi-ngopi dan menghisap sebatang roko(karena sarapan sudah dapat dari hotel) di sebuah food court dengan view persimpangan Makati Avenue

Setelah menunggu akhirnya tiba saat weekend, saya dan 2 orang teman menyewa mobil untuk berkeliling, hari sabtu kami habiskan ke beberapa tempat yang disarankan teman-teman, Jose Rizal Park, Intromuros, dan yang terjauh Tagaytay
Kesempatan kali ini saya hanya bisa men-sketch beberapa lokasi saja, karena saya tak ingin teman saya menunggu saat saya melakukan hobi saya tersebut.

Sebuah gereja di atas bukit, "People Park in the Sky" Tagaytay (kalau di Indonesia mungkin mirip-mirip puncak)

Hari minggunya saya menjelajah sendiri dengan menggunakan taksi dan kaki :), kali ini saya lebih bebas melampiaskan napsu saya untuk men-sket

Intramuros adalah tujuan utama saya, wilayah ini seperti "Kota Tua"nya Manila banyak bangunan tua, benteng cathedral dan patung-patung

"Monumen of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and Andres Urdaneta" salah satu monumen di intramuros

"Port Santiago" sebuah benteng di kawasan Intramuros

Dari benteng ini kita bisa melihat sungai Pasig dengan latar belakang kota Manila

Dan untuk kedua kalinya sketsa Cathedral

Dan sketch hari itu di akhiri dengan Jeepney salah satu angkot dan icon manila

Kembali ke Jakarta, masih menyempatkan diri men-sket Bandara Ninoy Aquino

Sampai ketemu di sketravel berikutnya

Face the Night

I still have difficulty to sketch at night, with limited light, and all color seem to be black

But this time I'm trying to face my fear of night sketching

I'm done sketching around Suropati Park, Jakarta on Dec last year

starting about 18.00 and finished at 20.00

My first sketch goes to this "Gereja Ayam" church, its almost christmas so the church was full of little bulb that give the light to all the wall

I admitted that's hard to do sketching in the place that have the low ligh, its dark (of course)

After finish with the church I continue to the Pangeran Dipenogoro statue infront of the Suropati park

My last sketch that night is the fountain at middle of the park

While other seem to have their mate that night at the park, and I'm the only one with sketchbook and drawing pen on my hand, sometime i wonder what people thing about when they see one man drawing at night in the middle of the park that other usually use for dating :)

Its been a while since my last posting, actually not about no time for this but my laziness to write something here

I've done some sketching last year related to my beloved city jakarta that give me such a great traffic every day on my way to office :)

This building is a part of Jakarta Old Town heritage site, was built in 1710 as the Batavia City Hall
today this building is become Jakarta History Museum

I do a lot of old building sketch this month, starting from Braga and Asia Afirika streets at Bandung to Jakarta Old Town

Jl. Braga is one of the main street in Bandung since Netherland Indis time

Now this street become on of the famous street in Bandung for tourist visit

Jiwasraya Building, built on 1859 by Netherland assurance company, Nederlanche Indische Levens Verzekiring En Lijfren Maatcaappij (NILLNY), and become first live assurance company in Indonesia

At the beginning it was a house with Indis architectures style built in 1879, then rebuilt at 1920 by an architech Edward Cuypers Hulswit and become "Warenhuis de Vries" or Supermarket de Vries

Pepeng "Jari Jari" Soebardi

"Jaree...Jareee..." mendengar suara itu mungkin kita akan langsung teringat telekuis jari-jari sebuah program acara interaktif melalui telepon selama tiga menit dengan pembawa acaranya Ferrasta Soebardi atau lebih dikenal Pepeng

Pepeng juga merupakan salah satu personil dari grup "Sersan Prambors" dan sempat membintangi beberapa film layar lebar
Saat ini Pepeng tengah bergelut melawan multiple sclerosis yang di deritanya
Walaupun ia kini hanya dapat berbaring namun Pepeng tetap aktif menulis melalui laptopnya
Salah satu rencana Pepeng adalah memecahkan rekor MURI dengan 500 Moeka Kartoennya dan penyusunan buku "5oo cara menikmati wajah Pepeng"
Semangat terus Bung Pepeng, semoga selalu dalam lindungan Allah SWT.
