In most email programs it is allowed to create a signature that can be attached to every email you send.

Often I see some disclaimer like:
This communication is for use by the intended recipient(s) and contains information that may be privileged, confidential or copyrighted under applicable law. If you are not the intended recipient(s), you are hereby formally notified that any use, copying or distribution of this e-mail, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited.
Of course a disclaimer is necessary. Only, my questions are:

Does anybody read it?

Is it supportive to your exposure?

Does it interact with your customers?

Is it good for cross-selling?

I guess you won’t be surprised about the answers. These are No, No, No and No.

It is quite simple to use the email signature as a free marketing tool. It is viral too.
Just include, a price off, a link to a specific site, a special offer, a RSS feed, or any catchy tagline.

Don’t write long essays because people won’t read all that text

Conclusion:

The email signature is the forgotten marketing tool.

Today I’ve found an interesting article about some basic tips about Google Adwords:

For your Internet Marketing Strategy to be successful, you need a Sponsored Search Marketing strategy. One such tried and tested strategy is the Google AdWords scheme.

As a form of Search Engine Marketing, Google AdWords has other methods beat. This is due to the incredible versatility you’ll have by having access to more websites than any other search engine - your ad here? More accurately, your ad anywhere you want it to be. You bid on the placement you want on Google’s sites, including on it’s search engine result pages.

Here, we’re going to go into the depths of the Google AdWords structure so that you can plan your search engine marketing campaign better as a part of your Internet Marketing Strategy.

A typical account on Google AdWords follows this structure:

Campaign> AdGroup> Keywords and Ad Copy

Just one level below the main level of your Google AdWords account, you’ll find the campaign level, where you’ll have control over settings like language, geographically based targeting and the timing for when you’d like your ads to appear. This can be set by the quarter hour. The campaign level and theme of your AdGroup (e.g. - your campaign itself) should match, or be related at the least.

Campaign> AdGroup> Keywords & Ad Copy

A level down is the AdGroup level. This section of your Google AdWords account is where you can organize your keywords. This can be done with amazing granularity; you can use up to 10,000 different categories to organize your keywords by AdCopy relating to them. You’ll want to ensure that your AdGroup is named in accordance with the keywords within that group.

Campaign> AdGroup> Keywords & Ad Copy

The keywords in the Google AdWords will come directly after the Ad Group. These are the words you would want the search engine to target. You can use three different techniques in order to make your keywords list:

Broad Match Keywords -

Here, the search engine targets the words that were entered by you, any words that might be found to be in any combination with them or even between them.

Phrase Match Keywords-

Here, the words can be found beside each other but the keywords find a way to put themselves on to either end of the sentence.

Exact Match Keywords-

This is the exact similar word your AdCopy is looking for! Thus, AdCopies and keywords should be relevantly correlated.

Campaign> AdGroup> Keywords & Ad Copy

The AdCopy forms a part of the AdGroup, and it is here that a powerful sense of connection is needed with the keyword themes in the set. There is space enough for 4 messages in the AdCopy area. These are: Title of the Ad, First Description Line, Second Description Line and the URL for Display.

The ultimate requisite for your AdCopy is for it to draw attention to itself. Ad Title is needed to create a preliminary interest whereas it is the job of the AdCopy to make the body of your ad eye-catching and appealing. You’re going to have to think out of the box. Think different to what others in the marketplace are doing. You’ll have to find a way to do this even if it means capitalizing all the words, grabbing viewer attention with the first word and drawing them into the actual message which you want to convey.

Your AdCopy will be a bit different depending on whether you have a product or a service which you’re selling. Service providers should think locally and take full advantage of the geographical targeting capabilities of Google AdWords.

Summary:

AdWords accounts have all of the essential elements to work perfectly as a method of target marketing. Even before bidding, you know exactly who your ads are going to reach; an advantage held by very few in the fields of marketing and advertising. There is yet more to learn of course. Even after half a decade in the business, we here learn new aspects of AdWords almost daily. The world on online advertising is constantly growing and changing and you must stay on top of things. Google Analytics is a good way to do just that.

It is unbelievable I got another two tips to improve your Google Adwords ads.

I would love to go to 20. Please help me and send us another great tip to improve Google Adwords ads. We will put it on our site with your name and URL. Also we will give you our E-book “How to profit from Google Adwords”.

My tips for today are:

Number 15: Ask a Question in your headline
It is an old marketing trick to draw attention. Not only in ads but also in speeches, presentations, E-books, etc. For example; when I am introducing myself I usually start with “Who is Henk Jan Dulon Barre?” instead of “My name is Henk Jan Dulon Barre”.
Make sure your questions are compatible with your products or services.

There are always people who don’t believe in these kinds of questions. Are you one of them? I suggest you’ll do a test and look for the impact on your CTR. Testing is quite easy in Google Adwords. I am glad to hear your results.

Number 16: Create the correct emotion
People should feel the proper emotion, when they are reading your ad. The impact of your ads will improve enormously when you choose those words which are emotional congruent with your products.

Sometimes it is hard to find the right emotion or the right words. In these cases you can find inspiration in the guide of E-words with emotion.

Summary
Now you got 16 tips to increase your CTR. When you want more practical information about Google Adwords, you can download our free E-book “How to profit from Google Adwords”.

A couple of days Google launched it’s new feature, demographic targeting. With this new feature it’s possible to target specific age groups and gender.

What is demographic targeting?
It’s a feature that helps you target your ads to users of a particular age group (such as ages 18-24), by gender, or to combinations of those groups. You can use demographic bidding whether you are using contextual or placement targeting and with both CPC and CPM bidding. You can refine your reach based on users’ gender and age on certain sites in the Google content network such as MySpace and Friendster, whose users provide that information about themselves. AdWords receives the data in anonymous and aggregate form from participating partner sites, which means that users can’t be personally identified.

Conclusion
In my humble opinion this is an interesting feature. I do however have some questions about the size (reach) of this feature since not every website is sharing their users info…

Last week I gave you 12 tips to improve your Google Adwords ads. Today I will give you two more. These will be tips number 13 and 14 to improve your Google Adwords ads.

I do hope someone else has another great tip to improve Google Adwords ads. Please send it to us. We will put it on our site with your name and URL.

My Google Adwords tips for today are:

Tip number 13: Strategic use of Capital letters

What is the best option?

To capitalize your display URL?

To capitalize first letter of words in the headline?

To capitalize the most important words?

To capitalize nothing at all?

To capitalize the first letter of every word?

It is different in every situation. This means you have to test. I usually start out capitalizing the display URL, and then try out any combinations I can think of.

Tip number 14: KISS (Keep it simple st…)
You don’t have much space in a Google Adwords ad or any other PPC ad. So, watch out for useless words This means you don’t need sophisticated sentences. Keep your sentences simple and concise. Your reader will understand it quicker what you are really offering.

Question?
Now you got 14 tips to increase your Google Adwords ads. When you are a Google Adwords user and you start experimenting these tips. Please let us know your results? Perhaps we can give you some extra tips.

My tips for today are:

Number 11: Visual creativity
There are a lot of possibilities to differentiate from the competition. Normally you will attract more visitors. You can create all kind of figures e.g. a “pyramid”, a “heart”, an “arrow”, or a “reverse arrow”, etc.

I will show you my artistic qualities, because it is Good Friday.

   G

FREE E-BOOK GOOGLE ADWORDS A

                                        W

   S

Number 12: No prices
It is not wise to write your selling-price in your Google Adwords ad. Unless of course you are absolutely sure that you have the cheapest offer. It is better to emphasize on discounts (see tip 5) or other benefits (see tip 4).

Question?
Now you got 12 tips to increase your CTR. When you are a Google Adwords user and you start experimenting these tips. Please let us know your results? Perhaps we can give you some extra tips.

Lots of people advertise on Google Adwords. There are several ways to improve your advertising results. One of them is to professionalize your ads.

Today I will give you the 10 most important tips how to improve your Google Adwords ads.

When you have another great tip to improve Google Adwords ads, please sent it to us. We will put it on our site with your name and URL.

What does a better ad mean?

A better ad means a higher CTR.

A higher CTR will be rewarded by Google Adwords with lower bid prices or higher rankings

Lower bid prices means a higher ROI (Return on Investment)

Higher rankings means more clicks and an even higher CTR

Conclusion
It is very important to improve your Google Adwords ads. You can continuously improve your Google Adwords ads with testing, split-testing, multiple ads over multiple test iterations, etc.
I am sure the performance of your Google Adwords ads will improve over time.

Now I will give you the 10 most important Google Adwords tips how to write better ads.

Keep your audience in mind. What is your target market looking for when they search for your keyword? Try to read their minds when you are writing the ad. Your target market should recognize them in your ad.

Double check your spelling and grammar. A stupid mistake is not professional and will hurt your credibility. A mistake will have consequences for your tests results.

It is better to steal good ideas than to invent lousy ideas. Look to your competitors and copy the items that are performing. Take some of the top ads which are shown for your keyword and mix them to create something completely new.

Emphasize “what’s in it for me”. People are not interested in features. They are interested what they can do with those features or why they would benefit from it. A successful Google Adwords ad describes benefits only.

Use specific numbers. This is a common marketing trick that has been used for more than a century. Specific numbers create curiosity. Normally, a discount of 16,80% will have a better performance (higher CTR) than a discount of 20%. A sales increase of 183% will attract more people than a sales increase of almost 200%.

Call-to-action. Always try asking your audience to do something. That’s the principle behind the call-to-action. Of course you have limited space in Google Adwords. This means that including something like “Click here to receive this benefit” is sufficient.

Make your landing page relevant. This tip will not affect your CTR but will have effects on your conversion. It is very important that you make your ad relevant to the landing page. Give them what you promised in your ad and you will experience higher conversions. When you don’t do this, your visitors get confused and simply click away.

Test multiple versions of your display URL. It is wise to do several experiments. After you have analyzed the results you can choose for the most profitable URL. You can make experiments with capitalization (i.e. “DomainName.com” vs. “domainname.com” or even DoMaInNaMe.com); you can also make experiments with “www”, sub domains, and pages. Normally, but not always, your CTR will increase when you include your keywords in the URL.

Ads for small groups of keywords. It is wise to write your ads specifically for small groups of keywords. I know these extra ads will cost you extra time but it will have a positive effect on your CTR.

Keywords in your ad. Try to use the keywords in your ad. Sometimes you can include the keyword in all four lines of the PPC ad for maximum bolding.

These are the 10 most important tips to improve your PPC ads. I hope your initial Google Adwords ads will give your business a boost. Of course I know there are more tips and tricks to improve your advertising results. When you have a good one please sent it to Yargon, we will put it on our site.
