Starting December 19th, EVGA will host a all server game event until January 1st! Play on any of our game servers at any time during this period and you are eligible to win. Signup is free and easy for any who wish to participate. Official gaming will begin on December 19th at 4PM Pacific and continue until January 1st, 11:59 PM PST. Anyone who signs up and plays any length of time during this time frame will be eligible to win a prize.

This is not a competition or tournament, just a chance for any gamer to come out, frag and hopefully win some great gaming gear!

Prize offered

NZXT Unveils Phantom 410 Midi-Tower Chassis

NZXT today unveiled its latest chassis named the Phantom 410. The Phantom 410 is based on the original Phantom chassis by NZXT, but is more compact, and also includes a side panel window. The new chassis supports ATX, microATX and mini-ITX motherboards, along with three hidden 5.25" drive bays and six 3.5" drive bays. A removable hard drive cage enables the Phantom 410 chassis to house video cards up to 40cm in length (or up to 30.5cm long video cards with hard drive cage). Cooling is provided by three pre-installed fans, although up to five additional fans can also be installed, including a unique tilting fan on the hard drive cage. The I/O panel features two USB 3.0 ports and standard audio ports, while the top of the chassis has a fan speed controller. Support is included for 240mm or 280mm radiators in the roof of the case. The NZXT Phantom 410 chassis measures 215x520x532mm (WxHxD) and will be available on December 9 for around US$135 (€99.90) from caseking.de. New Mass Effect 3 Video Shows Off Heavy Melee Attacks for Two Classes

Mass Effect 3 may be a few months away from release, but that does not mean there is a lack of information on it. Today, BioWare have launched a new episode of BioWare Pulse that showcases the new heavy melee attacks for two of the classes. The Engineer's melee attack is a high-damage hit that includes fire damage to easily slice through armor. Adepts use their biotic ability to punch enemies and send them flying through the air just like in kung-fu movies. Each class will also be getting some new abilities to help make combat a little easier. Engineers can lay down a sentry turret in the middle of a fight to help take down enemies. Opposing Engineers can do the same, but you can actually hack their turret provided your Shepard is an Engineer as well. Vanguards, one of the favorite classes in the game, get a new ability called "Nova." It is another high risk, high reward ability like the returning Charge, but activating Nova will lower your barrier and then unleash them as a powerful shockwave to damage anything nearby. It looks as cool as it sounds, but it also leaves you vulnerable for a counterattack from anyone not caught in the blast.

The new Krogan shotgun "Grawl" is also shown, and it is one of the most accurate shotguns in the game. It fires a cone of spikes that embeds itself in bad guys while also leaving them with a bleed effect to bring down their health after the initial attack. It looks like it will make for one fun weapon when we can get our hands on Mass Effect 3.

Mass Effect 3 launches on March 6th, 2012, for the PC, PS3, and 360. The video below also details the contents of the N7 Collector's Edition.

The who’s who of European football gathered in Kiev Friday night for the Euro2012 draw.

To no great surprise there will be a host of mouthwatering ties on the menu for next summers tournament in Poland and Ukraine – the last 16 teams finals before the competition expands to 24 teams in France 2016.

Russia, who under the USSR flag won the inaugural edition in 1960 and were semi finalists last time out in Switzerland and Austria, were draw in Group A which has a distinctly eastern feel to it.

Dick Advocaat’s men have been drawn alongside The Czech Republic, co hosts Poland and Greece.

Poland have the honour of kickstarting the event when they take on 2004 champions Greece on June 8 in Warsaw.

Three times champions Germany were placed in Group B and will yet again lock horns with fierce rivals The Netherlands, as well as Portugal and Denmark after being drawn together in what is arguably the toughest group of the tournament.

Coach Joachim Loew said: ‘‘Portugal is filled with stars who play in big clubs like Real and Manchester United. They have Ronaldo and Nani for their spectacular attack and also a very good defence with Pepe just to mention one. This will be a very exciting and interesting group.”

So here’s confirmation of what some are already calling the group of death.

World and European champions Spain will begin their bid to become the first nation to win back to back Euro titles in Group C. They should fancy their chances of progressing to the knockout stages but will take nothing for granted according to coach Vicente Del Bosque who said: “We are going to fight. As good sportsmen we must respect our rivals and let us see if we are able to achieve this wonderful challenge which is to win three major competitions in a row.”

Completing Group C are Spain’s old rivals Italy, Ireland and Croatia.

Fabio Capello’s England were drawn in group D – having missed the last edition four years ago they will look to put that embarrassment and their 2010 world cup fiasco well and truly behind them.

But they will have to negotiate a group that boasts bogey team Sweden, co hosts Ukraine and France.

France coach Laurent Blanc said: “All groups are complicated particularly group B. Do not forget we could have been in that group instead of Denmark. We are never satisfied 100% in a draw. I think tonight it could have been more complicated, more dangerous for France. We are in a more balanced group with England as favourites and three other teams with good chances to go through.”

So here it is – the final group line-up for Euro 2012 which begins on June 8. France and England get group D started three days later.

As always every tournament has its ball – Euro2012 is no different.

Tango12 will have the honour of being booted around Poland and Ukraine by Europe’s finest.

Iranian diplomats expelled from UK arrive home

A group of 25 Iranian diplomats expelled from Britain have arrived home. They were sent back to Tehran following an attack on the British embassy.

“Death to England”, shouted protesters at the airport. Dozens of students turned out to greet their compatriots, but the diplomats were ushered away.

“We’ve come here to welcome the Iranian ambassador from the UK. We are very happy that they’ve returned. We don’t need an Iranian embassy there,” said one of the demonstrators.

The row brings relations between the two countries to a new low, but diplomatic ties have not been cut entirely.

In London the expulsion brought protests against the Tehran regime outside the Iranian embassy.

Behind the dispute lies the ongoing saga over Iran’s nuclear programme. Britain’s move, with the US and Canada, to impose new sanctions prompted

last Tuesday’s attack on the British embassy in Tehran.

Iran apologised, but the UK accuses the authorities of backing the protest. Some observers say the events suggest divisions within Iran’s leadership.

Battle of Stalingrad 23 August 1942 – 2 February 1943

The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle of World War II in which Nazi Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) in southwestern Russia. The battle took place between 23 August 1942 and 2 February 1943.

It is the largest battle on the Eastern Front and was marked by its brutality and disregard for military and civilian casualties. It is among the bloodiest battles in the history of warfare, with the higher estimates of combined casualties amounting to nearly two million. In its defeat, the crippling losses suffered by Germany's military proved to be insurmountable for the war. The battle was a turning point in the war, after which the German forces attained no further strategic victories in the East.

The German offensive to capture Stalingrad commenced in late summer 1942, supported by intensive Luftwaffe bombing which reduced much of the city to rubble. The German offensive eventually became bogged down in house-to-house fighting; and despite controlling over 90% of the city at times, the Wehrmacht was unable to dislodge the last Soviet defenders clinging tenaciously to the west bank of the Volga River.
In November 1942, the Red Army launched Operation Uranus; a two-pronged attack, targeted at the inferior Romanian and Italian forces which were protecting the German 6th Army flanks. The success of these attacks caused the weakly held flanks to collapse and the 6th Army to be cut off and surrounded inside Stalingrad.

As the Russian winter set in, the 6th Army weakened rapidly from cold, starvation and ongoing Soviet attacks. Command ambiguity coupled with Adolf Hitler's resolute belief in the "power of the will" and the value of "standing fast" further compounded the German predicament. Eventually, the failure to break the encirclement by relieving German forces, coupled with the failure of re-supply by air, caused the final collapse. By early February 1943, German resistance in Stalingrad had ceased and the remaining elements of the surrounded 6th Army had either surrendered or had been destroyed.

Of more than 91,000 German prisoners captured in Stalingrad, only about 5,000 ever returned. Already weakened by disease, starvation and lack of medical care during the encirclement, they were sent to labour camps all over the Soviet Union, where most of them died of their wounds, disease (particularly typhus), cold, overwork, mistreatment, and malnutrition. Some were kept in the city to help with rebuilding. In March 1943, 40,000 Germans were buried in a mass grave, victims of a typhus epidemic. A handful of senior officers were taken to Moscow and used for propaganda purposes, and some of them joined the National Committee for a Free Germany. Some, including Paulus, signed anti-Hitler statements which were broadcast to German troops. Paulus lived in the Soviet Union until 1952, then moved to Dresden in East Germany, where he spent the remainder of his days defending his actions at Stalingrad and was quoted as saying that Communism was the best hope for postwar Europe. General Walther von Seydlitz-Kurzbach offered to raise an anti-Hitler army from the Stalingrad survivors, but the Soviets did not accept. It was not until 1955 that the last of the 5-6,000 survivors were repatriated after a plea to the Politburo by Konrad Adenauer.
