Windows 7 GodMode – Master Control Panel shortcut

It may be hyperbolically named, but Windows 7’s God Mode is indeed omnipresent. It conveniently puts hundreds of settings from all around the operating system in one place.

To turn on God Mode, create a new folder on your desktop, or anywhere you’d like, and name it : ” GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} “.

The resulting folder will contain 270 items, representing virtually every configurable option in Windows 7.

SPF – Another step towards preventing email spam

In an another step towards preventing email abusers, i finally got the Sender Policy Framework up and running for my domain.

SPF is a validation system to prevent source address spoofing vulnerability.

Now, when the next time you receive an email from my email id, you can be pretty sure that it is actually ME who has sent that e-mail.

Eclipse SDK 4.0 is the next generation platform for building Eclipse-based tools and rich client desktop applications. This new release makes it easier for developers to develop and assemble applications and tools based on the Eclipse platform.

The 4.0 release is for early adopters that want to test backwards compatibility and migrate their plug-ins and RCP applications.

3 Years In ReadiMinds :)

Yes, I have completed 3 long Years with ReadiMinds yesterday. The best and fun part of working here has always been the friends.

Also, congratulations to Sagar Gadde and Govind Ashrit (ReadiMinds RockStar) who completed 5 and 3 years with ReadiMinds this week.

Enable / Disable Task Manager

There is a registry hack to enable or disable Task Manager.

Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Name: DisableTaskMgr
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1=Enable this key, that is DISABLE TaskManager
Value: 0=Disable this key, that is Don’t Disable, Enable TaskManager.

If you are an Administrator you can consider using Group Policy Editor. For that,

Click Start
Click Run
Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
In the Group Policy settings window
- Select User Configuration
- Select Administrative Templates
- Select System
- Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
- Select Remove Task Manager
- Double-click the Remove Task Manager option

Since the policy is Remove Task Manager, by disabling the policy, you are enabling the Task Manager.

FYI: You can run registry editor with command regedit.
