This was years ago, but I think there was a Star Trek porn parody that was touted as being particularly nerdy and actually written quite well. Which actually kinda doesn't surprise me.

I wonder if there are any porn parodies of Shaw Brothers flicks in general. Kid With the Golden Dick kinda writes itself.

I guess my update schedule is more TuWednesday when it's the busy season. Colors are coming, I just wanted to get the inks up first. And I might go back and do last week's. It's getting busy around these parts!

Gonna be a busy week which you can probably tell from the lateness of this update. Hopefully, I can get around to toning, but if I don't, please know that it's mostly because I've got lots of projects in the queue that are piling up. And half of them I'm getting paid for! Which is better than usual.

Everyone has a friend like this whose powers of persuasion are just irresistible. And if you don't have that friend, chances are YOU are that friend! You kinda need these people in your life to kick you in the ass now and then and break you out of your comfort zone.

I'm not terribly social on purpose despite me getting up on stage on the regular and going to conventions and all that. Introverted extrovert? Is that a thing? So plugging in to listen to some dope tracks while grinding away in the office is sort of my default mode. But it's also fucking weird to get DMs from someone who's within arm's reach.

I mean, most of the time I'm working all alone here by myself. But on the rare occasions when I get into the office, I maybe plug in too soon. Ah well. And now I'm thinking about how cool it would be to have a cartooning coworking spot somewhere so I'd have fellow cartoonists to commiserate with! Yo, anyone in MD have a spot, hit me up!

That's a whole mess of kit for an internship. Or pretty much any work day.

There are size charts on the product pages. These are different than my original design that I put out for the kickstarter. Besides a new illustration, they are 100% cotton which honestly feels a lot better than the polyester fleece of the original. It wasn't an option back then, but it is now! The trade off is that shipping times are gonna be longer.

So I got some plans for 2019. Resolutions? I dunno, shit I wanna get done.

• Draw Write Now -- Me, Brandon Chalmers, and Phil Chan are gonna make something out of this aspirational brand in 2019 so get ready! We're gonna just fuckin' figure it out along the way and do it!
• Draw Jam -- I wanna get 1000 subs on my drawing channel so I can be a youtube partner and flail about trying to make that shitty adsense money. I know, I'm late to the party. I'm always late to the damn party. bleh.
• Kitsune Hoodies and merch in general -- I have samples in hand! I'm gonna try to figure out getting some good looking photos for them, but I'll be putting them up soon. And more merch in general. I'm gonna try prints this year. Last time I did them sucked, but that was decades ago (I'm fucking old). We'll see if there's a market!
• Nomlings -- These dumps are getting refreshed and are coming back. Toys and merch and maybe an animation or two depending on how things go. We'll see.

Short list, but big dreams. I'm so grateful to everyone who's come back to check out YP after being gone for so long. I would really love to make this iteration work. A bunch of these projects will help me keep afloat if they all work out like I want. And I've also got a Patreon which I never talk about which I plan on talking about more in 2019. I post full resolution version of the comic and any other art that I produce throughout the year as well as previews of things so if that sort of stuff interests you, check it out.

But honestly, reading the comic and sharing with your friends is the best thing in the world to me. And I thank you all for coming back. Alright, back to the grind. More shit to come in 2019!!!

For the past week, I've been drawing Disney Princesses as a Super Sentai Team, Regal Sentai Princess Rangers. I got the idea after watching Ralph Breaks the Internet and seeing how well the princesses worked together. I really want Disney to do something with that group because they are so fun together. So, of course, I had grand ideas of a tokusatsu team with regal design and giant robots. Haven't gotten to the robot bits yet, but I'm almost done with the Princess lineup. Soooooo if you want to follow along, I've been posting my designs over on instagram, twitter, and my patreon (where patrons get full sized images for download and print).

Hey everyone! Let's welcome Shin into the madness! They are not intended to be a Deadpool like forth wall breaker, I just couldn't resist. Maybe they hear the upstairs neighbor getting into some shit, who knows.

Bo is an intentional real world spelling of Bow. I know I fuck up on spelling quite a bit, but for once I did it on purpose!

With the holidays coming around and family visiting, I still fully intend to keep updating on Tuesdays. Something will be up. And it should be a comic in some form. But if it ends up being a sketch or a fanart or something quick, just know that us cartoonists have families around holiday time, too. Though, if I'm being honest, sometimes cartooning is a great excuse to hide away from everyone for a little bit.

Lots of guest stars in today's comic because dammit, I'm trying to get people to come back and read YP after my long ass hiatus!

And ads should be working now as well which isn't so much a big deal for you, but it would be nice to be able to pay for hosting once in a while.

Other notes, I'm planning on merching the hell out of stuff in 2019. I have an online shop right now, but I'm in the process of revamping stuff. I did take it down for a bit, but then I thought I'd do a soft launch of Draw Write Now, a project I'm working on with some friends. More on that as we develop it. Kitsune hoodies are returning. Nomlings are returning in merch form. Toys are coming. Whole mess of stuff. Books?

Even when I was updating on the regular, YP books never sold like gangbusters. I never sold out at any show I ever did. And even though books sales would get an initial bump when they first came out, they never really did that well. I will still be doing books and collections, just not of YP. And anyway, the new format really doesn't lend itself to physical print. But I will be doing more shorts like 47 Bronin and collections of Tokutember. So there will be print things. I suppose if there really is a big clamor for YP in print, I would consider it. The color season has never seen print. But for right now, I'm planning on keeping YP updated for free online as long as I can manage.

Thing one, I know entirely too much KISStory. I got really in to KISS in college which weirdly coincided with their reunion tour. And the Psycho Circus tour. And I've probably said too much.

Thing two, I'M IN THE FRIGGIN' WASHINGTON POST MAGAZINE!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever dare think that some day I would be in my town's paper of record and holy fuck shit, THERE I ARE! Digital version went up yesterday and the print edition comes out this Sunday. I absolutely love the photos of all of us in our Super Art Fight regalia. Makes us look so pro! Can't wait to see a physical copy!

I've never hired interns myself, but I've been part of the interviewing process weirdly enough. And I have a handful of cartooning friends who have interns. I should probably look into that...

Couple of links for ya today.

First up, I did a comic for The Nib which is a daily comics publication that features political, bio, essay, and journalistic comics. I've always kinda wanted to do political type comics, but I could never quite encapsulate an idea to a single panel. Fortunately, The Nib takes long form submissions. So I wrote a piece about my conservative aunts and my consternation at their political choices. Just in time to fuck up my Thanksgiving!

I've played League of Legends exactly once, but I follow a few of their artists on their social medias so of course I saw the K/DA "Pop/Stars" music video when it dropped. Holy shit, what a fucking banger! And now I'm sadly disappointed that LoL is not a Kpop sim game. Because fucking shit, I wanna play as a masked rapper with spray cans! If they sell that neon mask, I'ma get that shit and just wear it all day.

It's pretty cynical and fatalistic to not start something just because it might fail. I mean, the entire ethos of starting your own business is to just fuckin' do it. Why shouldn't this extend to relationships?
