DOTA 2 Is on its way!

2011-08-18T02:40:00.000-07:00

Hello everyone. I don't know if you have heard of a game called Defense of the Ancients"DotA" it was and still is a popular arena player vs player style game. Where you can choose one of many different heroes and battle it all out against each other on the battlefield. These battlefields are 2 different maps, a 5v5 one and a 3v3 one. But eventually the game started to loose popularity.

This being a a very good opportunity for other similar games to evolve. Not very long after came along other "DotA" style games such as Heroes Of Newerth (HoN), League of Legends (LoL) and even a bit distantly similar one Bloodline Champions, and perhaps many other ones that i don't know of.

So here comes some good news for those who don't know yet! DotA 2 is on its way and it's scheduled to come out this fall, with the beta already announced! The beta is going to be on steam and you can learn more about DotA 2 on the official website which is streaming live videos of players battling it all out in a live championship. And this is the website if you want to watch it : http://dota2.com/tournaments/international/

Here is the official Dota 2 trailer. Enjoy! :

Diablo 3 - The real money auction house.

2011-08-16T09:00:00.000-07:00

Hello guys, i was reading up some info about Diablo 3 and i came across the real money auction house and along with it came loads of people views and opinions mostly either, "It's going to ruin the game" or "This is awesome". So that's when i thought i have to write to you guys about it. Well of course i bet most of you already know that this is happening, but I'l provide my info and opinion along side it .

As i was reading through some articles I came across one thing that was very interesting. I know there are some people out there whining and complaining how this auction house is going to ruin the game, just because some people are going to spend money to get the items, even though they couldn't be asked to get them by going and killing a boss or a mob. I agree with that statement but not entirely, as already there are different things that you can buy with real money in games. World of Warcraft for a example, you can get the different mounts by paying money or buying the account transfer to a different realm, I don't see people complaining that much about it. Here is what francis thinks about the real money auction house.

What i approve is just exactly what the blizzard executive producer Rob Pardo said. "We think it's really going to add a lot of depth to the game". Because if you think about it, it really will. Lets say your playing a game and you think your doing really good and you are actually kind of good. What can you do with your skill and the game to earn some money and benefit from being good? Well for starters you can go on youtube and hope to become a youtube star, sensation or something and benefit from that, but lets face it the chances of that are not too great. Or maybe you could think of something else but that wouldn't be as reassuring. So what blizzard is doing, is they are giving you the player the opportunity to benefit and make some money from your skill, from playing the game. So now here's what was really interesting that i found out. well it is that no one has to use the real money auction house if they don't want as there is going to be a separate auction house that operates only in-game gold. It won't cost any real money to list your items there, but as well as anything else. In-game gold can be bought with real money to. But this goes to show that you can still play the game and buy stuff that you want with the in-game gold if you choose to. So that been said i don't really think why people should get so frustrated about it.

All i can say. Well i am looking forward to this new style auction house as i think that in the future all of us are going to think of this as a norm, and perhaps in the near future it may lead into something more. Something we might be able to make a living out of. Oh and Francis take a chill pill its not the end of the world :)

Well thank you for reading this. Feel free to comment.
