Staying Healthy and Happy Here and There

2012-03-27T06:30:00.002-07:00

I found a place in Daegu that makes western styled burgers. Yum!

Seems like some western military personnel didn't want to behave themselves.

That place that does western styled burgers did a good job with this pasta dish too.

Western styled breakfast too!

Blood pressure reading for December, 2011. GREAT!

I found some ingredients good for a baked fruit cake (made by a fruitcake).

Ooo! I found an all you can eat pasta and steak place in Daegu. Pricey! Delicious!

Birthday wishes from students and co-workers. (Pass the tissue please.)

My Second Visit to Yoido

2012-03-27T05:59:00.003-07:00

The Reverend David Cho was the founding pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church. From what I've read he is fluent in English and Japanese. Korean is his mother tongue. His sermon was a pastoral message suitable for his church.

You can always tell when you're near an art school or museum or both.

Spending time well

To the left, you can get an idea of my idea of enjoying a kick-ass good time. The coffee was execellent, and so was the waffle. Lara's book was okay, but not great.

North Korean Styled Mandu

2012-03-26T18:54:00.001-07:00

I was visiting with a friend in Seoul who told me that the large size is what sets the North Korean styled Mandu apart from all others. We enjoyed this meal in an Insadong restaurant where I saw workers busy making the mandu from scratch. Delicious!

A visit to EunHaeSa temple sight near Yeongcheon

2012-03-26T18:42:00.002-07:00

One of my students (Hi Lucy!) drew this picture of me.

I've no doubt that she will be amazing throughout her life.

Her family invited me to spend a day with them.

For privacy reasons, I did not post pictures of them here.

These pictures will always remind me of them and the wonderful time we enjoyed together.

Before (above) and after (below) cooking. There is octopus, duck, and veggies in there.

What's it called. The pronunciation would be something like "Ollie Bull Goegy."

There are many temple grounds all about Palgongsan Mountain (near Daegu).
These photos are of one of them.

Korean Food

A viewer of my Youtube channel is from Yeongcheon where some of his family still lives. He contacted me, and we met. Later, he introduced me to an uncle who is the father of one my students. Together, we enjoyed this meal as we got more acquainted.
