Creatives do it again!! A absolutely beautiful film created by Oakland photographer Eva Kolenko. The film documents how co-founders Alfonso Dominguez & Sarah Filley created the POPUPHOOD, a new urban initiative and small business incubator revitalizing Oakland, block by block. What a great example of how to revitalize cities around the world.

We enjoy revisiting the “old school” way of doing business. There’s something nice about a business owner who genuinely cares about their customers. Take a look at this touching documentary, THE LAST BUTCHER IN LITTLE ITALY. Laura Terruso does a nice job documenting Mr. Albanese’s, (owner of Albanese Meats & Poultry) story of one of the first Italian enclaves in America and its changing landscape.

When creating a business today, don’t forget the most important ingredient to succeeding is connecting with the people! It was true when Mr. Albanese started his business over eighty nine years ago & it’s still true today.
