I found a wild black raspberry bush starting on the sunnier side of our property and I have been slowly stalking it since I found it in the fall.

Swing Time!

One of the many perks to also having a smaller dog like our Havanese is their never-ending lap sized love! YES Ernie McDoodle still thinks he's lap size, but 98lbs on your lap just isn't AS cozy as it could be. I frequently try to encourage Ernie to cuddle NEXT to me instead of directly ON me... but I digress.

With their PAWfect compact size, our Havanese and I have developed a bit of a hilarious routine that I am absolutely obsessed with....

It's Swing O' Clock!

Every day the Havanese watch me put Thatcher down for his nap, get Hazel ready to play outside, and when I go to grab the baby monitor, ALL tails are wagging. It is time to head outside.

And once another yard clean up from potty breaks is finished and the doggy zoomies have been released.... There is only one thing left to do

Swing time!

I don't even have to call them over! They just wait like this as soon as they see me walk towards our big bench swing

Today was Kipper's turn to swing with me first

Lulu says she does NOT remember going first yesterday

10/10 would like to go next

I would put them both on my lap at the same time, but Kipper REALLY likes to lounge during his turn

Little Deer Daycare

My neighbor and I have been so excited that a Mama deer had her little baby right between our houses! We have a nice set of shady trees and fluffy grass and she had them right there where we can see it from our windows!

Now every morning I have messages on my phone from my neighbor letting me know if our little fawn is out and about.

It's little deer daycare!

Mama drops baby off early in the morning, when my neighbor is awake, in a nice shady spot

Then as the morning progresses and my family gets up we get to say hello to the baby deer and see its beautiful brown hair with the whitest spots glitter in the sunshine.

And just like clockwork, Mama deer comes back and picks up her baby and they go into our woods!

Water "Dogs"

If you remember in previous blogs, Hazel LOVES to play pretend and one of her biggest imaginative play 'topics' if you will, is "Mommy I am a Puppy Dog!". Being surrounded by Tail-Wagging Devotion Hazel is in fact a GREAT puppy dog. Hazel barks at cars driving up the driveway (sorry deliveries!) the Mailman (sorry really nice guy!), our neighbors (you guys are the best) and also has PAWfected the ARF of whining like a puppy when she needs something, is upset by something, is in trouble for something.... you get the picture. I would honestly think she would have stopped the whining puppy sounds by now as I TRAIN puppies for a living and thats basically white noise to me HAHAHA! But Alas, Hazel the puppy dog is going STRONG in our household...

When I was out watering our newly planted marigolds, Maverick the silly senior that he is, decided he wanted to play in the water spray from the hose and play catch the water with his mouth. When Hazel saw this the thoughts in her brain could be seen on her face and endless giggles and woofing ensued as "HAZEL PUPPY IS HOT TOO MAMA! ARF ARF ARF!" And she stepped into the water spray as well.

Happy Puppy Picture Monday!!!

With solid food getting added into their diets, Nellie's puppies are REALLY growing now! With cute growing paws I needed some helping hands to take pictures. Thankfully when I asked Hazel if she could assist me with puppy pictures, not only did she give an enthusiastic "YES MAMA!!", but she also had some creative ideas of her own. She insisted we put the polka dot quilt in the pictures so she could "show the puppies all my favorite colors"

I Love it a Waffle Lot

Did I KNOW I would be in my early thirties obsessed with making waffles like its my part time job? No, no I did not. But I am here, and making waffles instead of sleeping because the pure joy on my children's faces when I tell them the waffle of the day is. Just priceless. And honestly, I really love waffles too. I did not know this about myself, but I apparently find them significantly superior to pancakes. THERE. I went ahead and said it out loud!

It just so happens that Thatcher received a waffle maker with interchangeable plates for his first birthday - YES he really loves waffles that much! And as his Mother and only parent, it is MY JOB to make him waffles with his waffle maker as he clearly cannot do so himself. And I just happened to purchase extra character plates to make said waffles because it turns out I LOVE IT A WAFFLE LOT! And I caaaaan't stop making waffles!

One magical plate ready for dinner and breakfasts!

I even got all fancy and made a lemon lavender syrup for dippings

Then a midnight Mama practice....

10/10 chocolate craving satisfied. I ended up adding white chocolate chips into the waffle maker as it cooked and they caramelized to perfection *Chefs Kiss*

Little Green Thumb

Grandpa had extra marigolds and called Hazel to ask if she had room at her house to plant some flowers- to which Hazel gave a very enthusiastic "OH YES Grandpa I DO!!" She has been talking non-stop about Grandpa's flowers since he said she could have them and TODAY was the day!!!

Thatcher is officially ONE WHOLE YEAR OLD. I do not know how that is possible, but we had the best time celebrating ONE Silly Goose this past weekend.

Phoebe's Havanese puppies are HEREEEE! Teeny Tiny puppy paws are back!!! Phoebe and babies are doing wonderful! I am so so proud of how much care and affection Phoebe shows her puppies. She is the sweetest Mama!!!

Masters Degree

This week we celebrated the most momentous occasion ... Bri's Master's Degree! We are SO proud of her! Bri works full time doing amazing work at The Ohio State University Hospital AND is the very best mom to her 2 adorable sweet boys AND is the very best wife AND the very best daughter-in-law AND very best sister-in-law AND while doing all of this still found time to get her Masters Degree in Healthcare Innovation. That is so much hard work and dedication to every aspect of her life. Bri will continue to work tirelessly to improve the health care system and we could not be more proud of this huge accomplishment!
