Adebukola Adeyemi is a young woman who has been through a lot in her life.

An indigene of Lagos State (from the Oluwa Family). She's a graduate of Mathematics from the UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS and a National Diploma holder in Estate Managment from YABA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY.

She has been diagnosed with Acute Kidney/Renal failure and Urgently requires a kidney transplant procedure. Presently she undergoes dialyses twice every week at LAGOS UNIVERISTY TEACHING HOSPITAL (LUTH) just to survive and the need for the transplant has been regarded as top priority for her chance to survive.

The Irony of life is while she struggled to see herself through schools having lost her father at a tender age of 15, she was a strong, focused person who rarely visited the hospital for any illness.

Earlier this year she lost her mother and thus became an orphan. This diagnosis is coming just a few months after securing her 1st job since her National Youth Service which she completed in 2010 in the Federal Capital Territory.

We call on well meaning Nigerians, NGOs, religious institutions to please come to her aid and help this young African woman with so much dreams to fulfill and a lot more to impact on the society.

34 year old Nigerian model and On Air personlity, Yinka Olonode commits suicide in Portland, USA

I just heard about the death of Yinka Olonode, an erstwhile popular On Air Personality for Rhythm FM who also appeared on an MTN advert some years ago.

According to reports, he apparently committed suicide by jumping from the 15th floor of the Nines hotel at 525 S.W downtown Portland rooftop restaurant on Monday, 29th April evening.
If you can't remember him, just think back on one of the first adverts MTN made. It was set in a university campus scene where a guy was too shy to ask a girl out and his friend eventually hooked him up with the girl. The girl eventually said 'I thought you'll never ask'

One of the guys, the one with the coloured hair in that advert was Yinka Olonode. He attended Unilag and he was quite a popular student.

He recorded a song No woman no cry on YouTube before he left Nigeria in 2003 and he was quite good. He didn't pursue a music career though.

He was a model and a very good On Air personality in Nigeria.

I don't know whether or not he was married but I know he had a daughter named, Feyisola Elizabeth.

Nobody knows his motive for the suicide yet.

May his soul rest in peace and may God look after his young child.

I so remember this guy for his song, jump jump from the 90.

He was pronounced dead yesterday and his death is still being investigated as a drug overdose.

Could my dirty past be haunting me? Please help before I go crazy

Please, I seriously need advice on this issue. It's been haunting me and tearing my conscience apart since I got married 5 years ago.

After my university education, I did everything possible to ensure I got posted to Abuja and to National Assembly to be precise. I was a very pretty girl with all the right curves in the right places and I didn't want to waste that.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do at the National Assembly I wanted to make money, lots of money and I knew that the quickest and easiest way was to date Senators. So, as a young, sexy and extremely beautiful 23 year old graduate, I set out on my journey.

At first, it was easy, I got to date senators and they spoilt me with a lot of money but before long, many more girls, even university girls were entering into the business and things began to dwindle. I spoke with one of my (co aristo) friends on how she still manages to have so many senators, white men and very rich politicians dating and spoiling her with so much money.

She introduced me to a very expensive native doctor in the suburbs of Abuja who gave me a tiny string of beads to tie around my waist after some incantations. At first I didn't believe in it's power and reluctantly paid the N250k that I was charge but on my next outing, I was surprised at how much Baba's jazz seemed to have worked.

In 2 years, I had acquired a piece of land in Abuja and developed it. I stayed in a nice rented apartment in Asokoro and drove a Prado Jeep. I had travelled to as many countries as I wanted. Whenever I was in Lagos, I was chauffeured by one of my 'uncles' drivers. In other words, I was a big Abuja girl by all standards and was living very large. Meanwhile, I never spent a kobo from my salary.

I had abortions so many times that it became normal for me. I told myself that if it's still in the first trimester, it was just blood clots and nothing to feel bad about. Inshort, I killed my conscience.

When I was 28, I met this really nice guy who incidentally was also from my home-town. We dated for a while and he proposed. I happily accepted. One week before my traditional wedding, my mother, who knew how I made so much money without discouraging me, died mysteriously.

Before my wedding, I handed over all my aristos to my younger sister who was already 24 at the time and whom I'd introduced to the lucrative business, she had also gone to visit Baba.

Now, it's been 5 years since I got married and I've never been pregnant. Instead, those aristos I dated keep visiting me in my dreams and having sex with me. Sometime, I see the Baba pursuing me and at other times, I see babies laughing at me with money in their mouths.

We've visited different hospital several time but the doctors keep saying we're both ok and we should just be patient. We've done so many tests and tried IVF both in Nigeria and in the US but they've never successful.

I'm so worried, sometimes, I think I'm going crazy. I feel this has to do with my past which I've never disclosed to my husband who is a good Christian. Sometimes, I wish he'll marry another woman or at least get another woman pregnant. I really don't know what to do, I feel I'm being unfair to him. I really love my husband and will hate to hurt him.

Do I disclose my dirty past to him and face his anger and disappointment or do I keep praying for the fruit of womb. Will it ever happen to me? I very much desire to have a child of my own.

Please don't judge me, I'm not proud of my past and I know what I did was wrong. I already judge myself. All I want is genuine advice before I go crazy.

Following recent reports that three men from the United Arab Emirates were deported from Saudi Arabia because of their good looks, one of the trio has been identified.

The men, attending the Jenadrivah Heritage and Culture Festival in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, were "forcibly" removed from the event by the religious police because their sex appeal was deemed too dangerous by organisers.

US gossip website Jezebel has identified one of the three handsome men that police "feared female visitors could fall for" as Omar Borkan Al Gala.

Al Gala, who claims to be a photographer, actor, and poet from Dubai, has a Facebook page, with more than one hundred thousand likes. He has also posted messages seemingly confirming that he was involved in the incident.

Recently, I noticed I'd blown up but I didn't realize how bad it was until my colleague who seemed to have found a new hobby with this big professional camera decided to catch me in action.

When I saw the pictures, I was alarmed and saved it as 'Fat me'. The pictures made me realize how badly I needed to go on a strict diet and do everything possible to get rid of the extra weight. So, I started a strict vegetable salad diet.

Truth is, it wasn't interesting at all at first. My new diet meant eating salad without any dressings or sweets. If felt like I was eating grass. I hated it the first 2 days and was so hungry that I had to eat something else but after about 3 days of trying, it became quite normal for me. I could eat the grass without complaining and VIOLA! I'm actually seeing the results.

In a nutshell, if you want to lose weight fast, eat only salad without dressing for about 2 weeks. It may feel like eating grass but you'll be sure to see wonders!

Mine is a very strange issue that many people may not be able to associate with.

From an early age of 5, I knew my mother detested me with a passion. She didn’t care for me like my other siblings and always treated me like trash. I used to fear her as a child and hide from her as much as I could whenever she was home. I’ll try to make myself as small as possible and always sat at the corners of the room.

When I was about 7, I noticed my sur-name was different from my siblings’ and I can’t remember at what age it finally dawned on me but from a very tender age, I understood that I was born out of wedlock. My Mom had me before she met and married her husband. Even she called me a bastard and ensured she treated me like one.

Growing up, I yearned for my mother’s love and touch, I desired to be cradled like she did her other children but I never got that special treatment. I was beaten very often and punishment was my daily life. In a nutshell, I suffered in the hands of my own mother. The only time I can remember being ill, my mom said she wished I died. I tell you, that statement alone cured me of my illness.

After secondary school, and no money to further my education, I got a small teaching job in a private primary school in my village, gathered some money and moved to Lagos. Of course, it wasn’t easy but fast-forward to 14 years later when I was 32, a proud OND holder and still a receptionist in a British school in Lagos.

Everything took a turn for the better when one day, I was in my tiny reception, doing my thing and in walked this man. After attending to him, he asked my name and followed it with some other personal questions. At this time, I’d noticed the wedding band on his finger and wasn’t interested but I was surprised when he said he wasn't asking for himself but his cousin who was based in the UK.

Long and short, he linked Ese and I and we started talking over the phone and skyping.

After about a year, Ese invited me over to the UK. At first, I felt it will spell ‘Cheap and desperate’ if I just got up and traveled to meet a man I’d never seen and be totally at his mercy but on a second thought, I asked myself what I had to lose. I was living a shitty life back here in Nigeria and really didn’t have a family, so I took the bull by the horns and decided to go.

3 months later and with my heart in my mouth, I left for the UK, traveling by air for the first time in my whole 33 years of life. I was scared and excited at the same time. I didn’t know what to expect and I tried not to care too much. I was most conscious of my looks because even though I’d sent him raw pictures of myself, I was scared he might not like me in person. I wasn’t a fine girl and I knew it.

When I arrived, he was at the airport waiting for me, he was quite tall, 6.2 to be precise and he looked genuinely happy to see me. I was still very jumpy and scared but later felt more relaxed.

Ese told me from beginning that he wanted to marry me. He said he’s suffered so much in the hands of whites and women from other countries and he just wanted to settle down with a nice responsible Nigerian woman. He didn’t even care about looks!

I stayed with him for 2 weeks and it was the best time of my life. Ese spoilt me and practically worshiped the very floor I stepped on. He wasn’t particularly rich and he told me everything about his simple life. He moved to the UK when he was only 9 and was now 37.

Before I left the UK, Ese asked me to marry him officially with a ring. I felt stupid but I knew it was the right thing to do and in tears of joy and pain, I said yes.

Today, my life feels perfect. I'm married to Ese and we have one lovely son who looks strikingly like his father. I’ve gone back to school to study fashion. I’ve worked on myself and I'm now a more polished and confident person. Still not beautiful but glamorous. I am now a personal shopper for some big names in the UK. Every day, I still wonder if it’s all true, if this is actually happening to me. It feels too good to be true.

My only problem now is I have this terrible feeling of emptiness in my heart. I often think about my Mom.

Last year, I contacted an old friend in Nigeria and begged him to pay a visit to my mom and let her know I was fine and doing well. When he told me the way my mom treated him, my heart fell. He said she was very alien to him and called him 419, said the person he’s talking about can never be as successful as he’s saying, said I’m probably an old whore somewhere or in some kind of trouble. She said, I am not and can’t be married but as soon as he was able to convince her that his story is real, she started dancing and announcing to the villagers that her dear daughter was coming to take her to the London.

Even though this left a bitter taste in my mouth, I’m still thinking of traveling home to see her. She lives in abject poverty and I really want to assist her. After suffering motherhood, I believe there must be a reason why my mother hated me so much.

I am so confused, what if she rejects me again? What if she accepts me just because of what she thinks she stands to gain from me? Should I try to forget her and move on with my life or should I face her and close this chapter forever? Will seeing her cure me of this hurt in my heart?

I really love my son and I can't imagine any woman hating her mother after going through the rigors of childbirth.

Luis Suarez banned for 10 matches by FA for biting Ivanovic

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has received a 10-game ban from the English FA for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a game on Sunday April 21st.

The FA released a statement today saying:

"A three-person independent regulatory commission today upheld the FA's claim that a suspension of three matches was clearly insufficient and the player will serve a further seven first-team matches in addition to the standard three.The suspension begins with immediate effect."

Suarez has until Friday April 26th to appeal the suspension.

19 year old Nigerian Girl in the UK takes overdose because she doesn't want to be deported back to Nigeria

A 19 year old girl, May Brown who claimed to have witnessed her father's death in Nigeria fled to the UK to seek asylum. She married a British man believing that she'll be granted British citizenship but British immigration denied her citizenship with the believe that her marriage is sham, as in paper marriage.

The girl, in what seems to be a desperate move, overdose a few days to getting deported to Nigeria and is now battling for her life in a hospital.

Meanwhile, she left a suicide note before she attempted to take her life.

'I am deeply sorry that I had to go this way, without even saying goodbye.

'The UK immigration has finally driven me insane. They've pushed me too far this time and I can't take the pain any more.

'I don't want a life or a future you won't be part of. I love you so much, more than life itself and can't endure the agony of not being with you.

'Please forgive me for ending it this way. It's better to die with my dignity than be subjected to torture and undignified death back in Nigeria.'

Before she took the overdose, May had said she feared her abusers would kill her if she returned to Nigeria because she witnessed her father's death.

Her husband, Mr. Brown and her mother-in-law totally believe it's a genuine case and she's so bitter that she attempted to take her life. They're blaming the UK Border Agency for the treatment of his wife.

Anyways, I don't know whether or not she's genuine but seriously, what's so bad about coming back to Nigeria and I beg, after looking at that picture above, does the girl look like someone that's being hunted in Nigeria? Maybe she should start be telling her father's name.

185 killed, 2000 houses destroyed in gun duel between soldiers, Boko Haram

No fewer than 185 persons including women and children were killed and over 2000 houses destroyed in a gun duel between the Joint Military Task Force, JTF, and suspected members of Boko Haram sect in Baga, Kukawa local government area of Borno State

The Commander of the Nigerian forces, Brigadier General Austin Edokpaye, confirmed the incident while conducting the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima round the affected area.

Edokpaye said the suspected terrorists attacked his men with firepower including RPGs which usually has a conflagration effect.

According to him, it was the conflagration that consumed the town insisting that the resultant deaths should be blamed on the Boko Haram sect who used civilians as human shield while attacking his men.

I just hate these terrible stories.

According to PMNews, A housewife, Mrs Esther Peter has allegedly murdered her husband, Kenneth Peter Anayo, and set the remains on fire.

The incident happened at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday at their home at NEPA Phase I Road, off Bada Abawonlo Street, Ijagemo in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
Some of their neighbours said the late Kenneth, a notorious Indian hemp seller and smoker in the area and his wife were always fighting during which they used dangerous weapons.

They alleged that the couple had a quarrel last Saturday when Kenneth alleged that his wife, a mother of one, aborted a four-month old pregnancy.

It was gathered that during the fight over the alleged abortion, Esther stabbed Kenneth with a broken bottle on his leg. While he was bleeding profusely, he was rushed to a nearby clinic where he was treated and discharged later that day.

However, neighbours said they noticed the couple’s room was on fire at about 2.30 a.m. on Tuesday, yet the door was padlocked. And when the door was forced opened, the charred body of Kenneth was seen inside the fire. But Esther, a mother with her son was not around.

A search party was organised by landlords at NEPA Phase I Road , Ilemeji before Esther was seen at about half a kilometre away from the scene of the incident.

According to an eyewitness, Alhaji Hamzat Tajudeen, Esther was arrested around Ashipa area with her belongings in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag, ready to escape with her son who is about two years old.

People nearly mobbed Esther when they saw the burnt remains of Kenneth which was lying in a way that suggested that he had died before the house was set on fire.

The deceased laid on his back with no sign that he struggled before the fire killed him.

Dear YB readers, I really need your help on this. I'm practically becoming a shadow of myself and I don't know what to do. I feel trapped in my Aunt's house.

I am a 27 year old Economics graduate from Delta State University, Abraka. I finished service in 2010 and worked for a while in a secondary school in Enugu where I served but in 2011, I decided to relocate to Lagos to look for a better job.
Since both my parents are in Delta State, I was very happy when my newly married aunt offered to house me. I thought everything will be fine as she's my mother's youngest sister with only a few years between us while my mom is the first child of 7 children.

At first everything was perfect, just the way I thought it would be. I started job hunting and eventually I got a small job while my aunt had her first child.

Since the child came, she treats me worse than a maid. She ordered me to move into the maid's quarters as she doesn't know when she'll be ready to set up my room for her daughter. She said that's the original plan and she can't let me destroy her dreams for her baby.

She used to have a maid, unfortunately, the maid couldn't handle the treatment being meted on her, so she left. Now, I have practically become the maid at home.

She expects me to clean the house, wash the baby's clothes, bath the baby, make the family breakfast and lunch, sterilize the baby's feeding utensils and whatever chores there could be in the house before rushing out at 6am. We stay on the mainland while I work in VI, so I always have to go early to catch a bus to Obalende.

No matter what time I return in the evening, be rest assured that there'll be no dinner until I prepare it. In short, she gets angry if I come in late. She also expects me to serve the food and and knock at her door to inform her that the table is set.

All these things are driving me crazy as I don't even have a life of my own anymore. I dare not say I'm going out on a Saturday or Sunday. She always has one thing or the other for me to do. It's either I have to go to the market to shop, wash their clothes or accompany her to one of her friends' babies' parties to babysit the child. Truth is I'm so so tired. I wake up at 4am and sleep at 11pm just to meet up with her expectations. I always feel sleep deprived these days.

The newest one now is that she has become physically abusive. The last time she asked how the last vegetable soup I made got finished so quickly, she slapped me across the face even before I could answer. She has always been verbally very abusive and I'd always taken it with the mind that it can't cut deeper than the flesh. Now, it's getting to me really bad. I'm afraid I'll react one day and she'll throw me out on the streets.

I really can't talk to my mother about this because there's absolutely nothing she can do except to feel really hurt and maybe cause a strife between them.

I can't move out because my salary is only N60k and I'm trying to save up for a masters' degree program. I also send 7k to my parents every month and can barely survive on the rest, so getting my own apartment does not even come up in the picture.

I've been searching for a better job but yet to find anything good enough.

What I face at home is beginning to affect my productivity at work and I'm afraid that I could even lose my job if this continues.

Cake baker quits govt job by baking a cake and writing resignation letter in Icing

Oh sweet sweet resignation. This is the sweetest resignation letter I've ever heard about, even his resignation letter is an advert. This is how you know people with talent. I bet he'll have more customer than he can handle.

Chris Holmes, 31, who worked at Stansted Airport, tweeted a picture of the note to resign from his job and pursue his dream to run a bakery business.

'I handed in the cake in person to the duty manager. I think he was pleasantly surprised. It was a passion cake - a carrot cake made with coconut, pecans, sultanas and orange buttercream. The lettering was a bit tricky because there were so many words and was quite fiddly. I thought it was a good natured resignation and hopefully left a nice taste in their mouths.

At last, she was coming back to where she belonged.

Through busy streets, past some of the landmarks of her time in office, Baroness Thatcher was returned to Parliament yesterday, scene of some of her greatest triumphs.

After so long out of the public eye, the former prime minister was allowed to take centre stage again on this, the first leg of her final journey.

There were no military bands, no massed crowds lining the streets, and none of the pomp and ceremony that will accompany her funeral today.

Baroness Thatcher's coffin has been carried out of Parliament, as Britain's greatest peacetime prime minister started her final journey to St Paul's.

Supporters of Baroness Thatcher were lining the streets of London in their hundreds this morning, with some camping out overnight to get the best views of her funeral procession.

Crowds gathered outside St Paul's Cathedral in the light drizzle amid a sea of Union flags to discuss the former prime minister's legacy and await the arrival of her coffin.

Many of those gathered on the pavements were dressed in sombre colours for the occasion while some erected stools and chairs at the foot of the monument and warmed their hands on steaming cups of coffee.

As a mark of respect all Union flags and the national flags of the UK were lowered to half-mast at buildings she will pass.

Meanwhile dignitaries queued as the doors to St Paul's opened this morning as they waited to be seated for the funeral.
