Okla.), Jon Kyl (R., Ariz.) and John Cornyn (R., Texas) said they were concerned the money was going to fund the CEO's nearly $1 million compensation package, $4.3 million in travel expenses and more than half a million in lobbying fees, instead of going to serve the 5 million children that attend 4,000 local clubs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Senators sent a letter to the charity Thursday seeking detailed information about its activities, how it awards funds to local chapters, and compensation, travel, and lobbying expenses.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"It appears that such funds are not reaching the intended beneficiaries, in this case, the youth of this country," the letter said, citing the charity's 2008 tax forms.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Boys &amp;amp; Girls Clubs of America didn't immediately respond to phone calls and emails seeking comment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The investigation could block a bill currently moving through the Senate to award up to $425 million to the umbrella organization over five years and threaten the national charity's reputation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In 2008, the Boys &amp;amp; Girls Clubs of America posted more than a $13 million loss, leading to closures for dozens of local chapters in Washington, Florida and Georgia, among others.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The umbrella organization went to Congress to seek money to stop the closings of local chapters, the charity's Board of Governors said in a statement.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In January the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee voted to give the organization an additional $85 million a year from 2011 to 2014, raising flags for Grassley, a ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, who conducts oversight over nonprofits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That's because in 1996, Congress authorized $20 million per year as so-called seed money to establish 1,000 new Boys &amp;amp; Girls clubs from 1997 to 2001. Don’t be misled, though, by her baby-doll looks, her puckered lips or even her moniker, which in Chinese means ‘A little bit of heaven’.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This isn’t some Pretty Young Thing advertising her charms on a dating site: Xiao Tian, 19, is the ‘general’ of China’s newest army of female hackers, the Cn Girl Security Team.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;China’s community of hackers, who have waged ‘cyberwar’ on and broken into websites of governments across the world (including India), is still largely a “boy’s club” overrun by the gush of testosterone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But increasingly, young girls - like Xiao Tian and her band of “hacker babes” — are breaking into this male-dominated domain with an eye on the “rock star” status that hackers enjoy in China, and the “career opportunities” opening up for established hackers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Xiao Tian says she started up her group when she felt the need for a space for young girls like herself, who felt excluded from the male hackers’ world because their skills weren’t considered “good enough”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today, the group has over 2,200 members; although that number accounts for only a small proportion of China’s overall hacker population — estimated at about 4,00,000 — Xiao Tian’s group is probably the largest organisation of female Chinese hackers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“In China, being a hacker is sort of like being a rock star,” Scott Henderson, a retired US army military intelligence analyst and author of The Dark Visitor: Inside the World of Chinese Hackers, told DNA.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“They give out souvenir T-shirts, caps and sunglasses, and they’re even close to landing movie deals!” A few years ago, a survey of middle-school children’s career aspirations revealed that a third of them wanted to take to hacking. “Naturally, girls too want to be a big part of this sub-culture, although it’s tough for them to be taken seriously,” he adds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Perhaps the best-known female Chinese hacking team was a group called the Six Golden Flowers, whose members have since broken up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Some of the girls in that group were taken pretty seriously,” notes Henderson. Last year, security media sources in China named one of the ‘Six Golden Flowers’ as probably the most active and influential Chinese hacker.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another female Chinese hacker from the same group, known online as the Dark Angel, has established a “commercial hacker trainer website”, offering individual classes for a fee and even a year-long structured course in hacking, says Henderson. One of China’s top female hackers, in his estimation, is Wang Juan, 27, who goes by the online name of Wollf and is celebrated as “the mother of Chinese Trojans”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the unique aspects of Chinese hackers, according to Henderson, is their sense of nationalism and collectivism, which is in stark contrast to the Western stereotype of the loner working from a basement. But in recent times, he adds, that the nationalist cyber-army has disintegrated into a band of “capitalist criminals”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A lot of hacking these days is about money - “sometimes legally, by taking ads on their websites, selling hacking programs and classes and magazines, but at other times illegally, by stealing virtual property and virtual currency used in online games, and selling it for real-world money.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Security experts have characterised China’s hacking community as a “proxy army” that is manipulated by the Communist Party to carry out cyber-espionage on its behalf, but Henderson isn’t entirely convinced of that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Beijing sure knows who these people are, but I don’t think it’s right to say these hackers are puppets of Beijing,” he says. It’s one thing, he notes, that hackers would gladly give any information they gather from their enterprise to the government: they would consider it their “patriotic duty” to do that. But it’s more likely, he says, that hackers would happily sell any information they gather to another government. “Sometimes money trumps nationalism,” he points out.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, can Beijing control China’s hackers to do its bidding? “Yes and no,” says Henderson.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“At times Beijing has had a difficult time maintaining control... However, if tomorrow, there’s a conflict that China is involved in, hackers would self-mobilise. The following paragraphs outline the negative impact and positive impact on breast cancer of several common lifestyle related issues.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://blogger-pesta.blogspot.com/2009/12/lifestyle-determine-personality.html"&gt;lifestyle&lt;/a&gt; Post-menopausal Obesity Increases Risk: Despite the evidence on the protective effect of pre-menopausal obesity on pre-menopausal breast cancer, the evidence that obesity increases the risk of post-menopausal breast cancer is very clear and not debatable. Some have suggested that tumors are harder to find by physical exam and mammography in obese women. This theory has largely been disproved in studies looking at mammography sensitivity and specificity, as well as studies looking at breast exam diagnosis in obese patients. If the correlation between obesity and cancer mortality is entirely causal, some scientists even estimate that an overweight condition and/or obesity now may account for one in seven of cancer deaths in men and one in five in women in the US.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;High Fat Diet and Breast Cancer: Although breast cancer publications and the media have promulgated the idea that a low fat diet reduces cancer risk, most clinical trials have not successfully demonstrated this direct beneficial effect. There have been several methodological explanations for this failure. However, the reverse observation that a high fat diet increases breast cancer risk remains solid. For example, a large study funded by the National Institute of Health looked at 188,736 postmenopausal women and fat intake, based on both "food frequency questionnaires" and "24-hour dietary recall questionnaires". With the food frequency questionnaires, researchers found that women who got 40% of their calories from fat had about a 15% increased risk of developing breast cancer compared with women who got 20% of their calories from fat. With the "24-hour dietary recall questionaire", they found a 32% increased risk of breast cancer among women with a high level of fat in their diet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Alcohol: Based on scientific evidence, exposure to alcohol is associated with increased breast cancer risk in a dose-dependent fashion. Even less than one drink/day on a daily basis can be associated with up to a 30% increase in breast cancer mortality among postmenopausal women compared to non-drinkers. The risk may increase by 7% for each drink per day. Studies have shown that stopping alcohol use may reverse this risk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Exercise: Exercise has been consistently linked with reduced breast cancer risk. A regimen of approximately 30 minutes per day of moderate-intensity exercise should be adequate, and perhaps even one to two hours per week is enough to be helpful. It appears that longer duration and greater intensity of activity may bring even more health benefits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Supplements: Americans spend billions of dollars on vitamins and mineral supplements. Recent large studies, however, have demonstrated that these pills and capsules do not decrease the risk of many types of cancer. One explanation is that as long as one is not deficient of any particular vitamin or mineral, ingestion of super-normal levels of supplements does not help. Many women have low levels of vitamin D, and some data have shown that increasing its level (whether in a pill or by sun exposure) can protect somewhat against future breast cancer. In our opinion, botanical dietary supplements derived from green tea extracts represent a potentially widely available method for reducing the risk of breast cancer. This simultaneously spectacular and risible concoction looks likely to trigger a worldwide B.O. tsunami for Sony.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hooking their doomsday scenario on an interpretation of a Mayan calendar that points to an earthly catastrophe in &lt;a href="http://blogger-pesta.blogspot.com/2009/11/film-2012-download-trailer-in-youtube.html" target="_blank"&gt;Film 2012&lt;/a&gt; -- specifically on 12-21-12 (what movie will pin its release to that date?) -- Emmerich and writing-producing partner Harald Kloser begin by dumping Los Angeles into the sea and follow with the destruction of Las Vegas, Yellowstone National Park, Washington, D.C., the Vatican, India, Tibet and a giant cruise ship.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyone who stops to think about it between grabs of popcorn might pick up the hint that Emmerich is taking particularly gleeful aim at the United States (which other director has destroyed the White House in his films not once but now twice?) and Catholicism (he goes out of his way to detail the collapse of St. Peter's and Rio's Christ the Redeemer statue), while no other religion gets taken to task. But then, that would be taking this eye-popping display of movie pyrotechnics far too seriously. Or not.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Coming up with halfway decent characters with which to populate disaster films has always proved an almost insurmountable problem, but Kloser and Emmerich have brought a measure of wit to the enterprise. Pic's Everyman is Jackson Curtis (John Cusack), a rumpled author whose most recent unsuccessful novel happens to have been called "Farewell Atlantis,'' and who never paid enough attention to sexy ex-wife Kate (Amanda Peet) and their two young kids (Liam James and Morgan Lily). He's now forced to look on as Kate shacks up with Gordon (Tom McCarthy) while he scrapes by as a limo driver for L.A.-based Russian billionaire Yuri Karpov (the very engaging Zlatko Buric).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As SoCal hopes for the best amid an alarming upswing in tremors and cracked streets, government scientist Adrian Helmsley (Chiwetel Ejiofor) alerts U.S. President Thomas Wilson (Danny Glover, almost too predictably grave) that increased solar fires (happily, for a change, not man-made global warming) are about to turn the Earth inside out in a way not experienced since the day the dinosaurs died.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While Wilson's chief of staff, Carl Anheuser (Oliver Platt), readies the evacuation of the elite and the president deliberates about how to preside over the planet's final chapter, Curtis leads his kids on a series of escapes and near-misses worthy of Indiana Jones -- in a limo, RV, private plane (flown by nonpilot Gordon), giant Russian cargo jet and, ultimately, the biggest vehicle ever built. The action is preposterous by any standard, but that's designed as part of the fun; eye-popping indeed are the sights of the streets of Santa Monica rippling like so many ocean waves, molten meteors spewing out of Yellowstone, the sea claiming a ship the size of a football field and a six-engine jet crash landing on a Himalayan glacier.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Unfortunately, it's not easy scripting the final act of a movie about the end of the world when you don't really want the final image to be a charred rock. Let it be said that "2012'' plummets from reasonably distracting spectacle to sheerest silliness when, in the pointlessly protracted final reels, it tries to maintain interest in the (confusingly staged) jeopardy of a handful of characters when much of the world's population has already been wiped out or is about to be. Never has Rick's observation in "Casablanca'' been more true, that the problems of a few little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On any level other than as sheer visual sensation, "2012'' is a joke, for the simple reason that it has no point of view; the film offers no philosophical, metaphysical, intellectual and certainly no religious perspective on the cataclysm, just the physical frenzy of it all. But to ask this would be taking the picture far too seriously. Or not.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In Cusack and Ejiofor, "2012'' has two actors who convey above-the-norm intelligence for characters in this sort of fare, although even they can't keep up the pretense as the film degenerates. Most casting choices are agreeably offbeat down through the ranks, with Woody Harrelson supercharging his scenes as a wackjob radio sage who issues on-the-air reports from the front lines of destruction.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Except for some patchy work when St. Peter's crumbles, the visual effects are pretty sensational, delivering the cutting-edge CGI goods auds want and expect. It is a powerful thing when a person who has long desired to change their body, finally becomes so fed up, that in their their mind there is no alternative but to begin taking the steps to create change. In short, a person has to want to change, and to truly create radical physical change takes total commitment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Commitment is a dirty word to many in our culture today, but with respect to creating physical change total commitment is necessary. What is total commitment; it is being willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goal, no matter what.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Re-creating your body necessitates a 24/7 commitment. Your food intake must be strictly regulated every meal and snack, every day. You cannot miss workouts just because you are not feeling one hundred percent that day. You cannot miss workouts because you had a bad day or your boss or your spouse is angry with you. Success necessitates that a person overcomes all adversity and sticks to the workout program and eating plan no matter what, without any excuses.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Goal orientedness is having, at the very least, a mental picture of how you want the outcome of your training to be. I strongly advise each and every client of mine to obtain a picture which represents how they want to look. I require that it be a person of similar physical structure who has optimized their physical condition. Constantly meditating on that image keeps a goal visually present and helps immeasurably in fueling the desire to go on to total success&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Intensity, if you want to get results from your training, you must train with sufficient intensity. What does this mean? It means pitty-pat workouts will not do the job. I, as a personal trainer have seen people who are wasting time in the gym with low intensity workouts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They go through workouts which do not create results for months, even years, but results will never come unless they put in the sweat and elbow grease it takes to reshape a body. Proper intensity is training as hard as you are capable during the entire length of the workout. Workouts without deep muscle burn will not create change.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In my opinion, if you feel no need to grunt and groan at all in your workouts, you are training without sufficient intensity. Sweating is good thing, it is the body's response to vigorous exercise. No sweat in this trainer's book equals insufficient intensity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Persistence and perseverance. Do you want to succeed? Dogged determination to create results must be practiced for a successful training program. What is persistence? It is doing what needs to be done to create physical change each and every scheduled training day without exception.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Intense weight training sessions done as scheduled without calling off and never missing your cardio sessions, this will create change Perseverance is gutting it out, sticking to the program even when your mind tells you that you are wasting your time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There will be times when you think that you are not changing quickly enough and it is at these times that you will be tempted to throw in the towel and quit. Its a simple practice that you can begin to develop into a daily habit. Take a small part of your attention and assign this part the task of watching everything that flutters through your mind.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Imagine this part as a video camera that records everything, to be stored and analyzed almost immediately after it occurs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stop reading for a few brief moments, and try this RIGHT NOW! As you begin to develop this ability, you can notice thoughts, stories, narratives, emotions, reactions, and many other processes going on in your mind.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By watching and then analyzing yourself at all times, in all situations, you can discover what kinds of thoughts are going through your mind, which will quickly bring realizations and epiphanies about your own beliefs, motivations, actions, and reactions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The only way a fish can understand water is by getting onto the shore, and looking back down into the water. You are the fish and the water represents your thoughts. In order to understand, analyze, and ultimately steer your mind, you first need to watch yourself from the outside, as a passive observer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At first, this may seem to be strange, or daunting as the self now how has to pay attention to the self, but it quickly becomes second nature. I want to make it very clear that the watcher or observer must not participate or be in any way involved in what is going on in the mind.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This means that it should not make comments or judgments on what is seen, but simply observe passively and report, similar to a surveillance camera.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Be patient and do not become discouraged if you forget or become distracted, this is completely natural. The answer is that we must unswervingly focus on the end goal we established when we began on the program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's say a client comes to me who weighs two-hundred and fifty pounds and he desires to take his &lt;em style="font-style: normal;"&gt;weight down&lt;/em&gt; to two hundred pounds. The client, in order to remain motivated, must constantly, reaffirm the commitment he originally made to drop his weight to two hundred pounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I firmly believe in using &lt;em style="font-style: normal;"&gt;weight loss&lt;/em&gt; related mantras in order to stay motivated. The question is what is a mantra? A mantra is a constantly repeated saying which will affirm the client's goals until the mantra becomes a part of the client's belief system. Is this brainwashing?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maybe, but for thousands of years this has been a method which has been used in religion and in education to form belief systems and ingrain powerful and useful truths. In their spare time, I instruct my clients to constantly repeat the success mantra until it becomes such a part of them that nothing could stop them from achieving their weight loss goal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another power technique involves obtaining a picture of a body which is representative of what the client's end goal is regarding appearance. Every day that picture should be looked at, and I instruct the client to spend one half hour creating a mental picture of themselves with this goal body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This technique is called visualization and if practiced with regularity will never fail to aid in the quest to remain motivated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In order achieve success in their fitness program it is necessary for the client to dedicate themselves in totality in achieving their goals. Success only comes when a person dedicates themselves unreservedly in the pursuit of their goal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No negative self talk can be tolerated; examples of this would be "I have never been able to go more than two weeks on a weight loss diet," or "I will always be fat," statements such as these are the exact opposite of the success mantra described previously in this article.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Success mantras, if diligently practiced, will drown out negative self talk.
