Seven Months of Max

2016-07-25T09:00:00.000-07:00

I'm usually not good at posting Maxwell's monthly photos. I'm always late but I wanted to post this collage of how much he's grown. He's a big boy just about 21 lbs at his 6 month appointment yikes! (he was born at 9.6 lbs)

My new life

2016-07-18T08:30:00.000-07:00

I haven't blogged in a long time. I've wanted to however there had been many changes in my life and I felt that always something kept coming up. And it just wasn't happenening.
So first of all, the biggest change in my life is that now I'm a mom. Yes, I have a son! If I have you on facebook you probably know this since all I post now are photos of him. His name is Maxwell and he's 7 months! He's such a sweet baby and let us sleep all through the night since about his second month haha. Now he's learning to crawl, loves music and so far loves eating banana and zucchini.
Eddie and I have been married for almost 12 yrs now and needless to say Maxwell is our little miracle baby.

This photo was taken on his half birthday party.

On mother's day.

Another big change in our life is that our chihuahua Chico is no longer with us. It's been almost a year since he ran away and I miss him everyday.

Having a child is a lot of work but oh so rewarding. Seeing that little face every morning is the best feeling in the world.

I'm working on a few projects but I will post more of that later. I'm still photographing weddings and families...etc. If you to book a session please msg me through the website or at my email ramirez.yolie at Gmail.

Family Session - Chino Hills

Beautiful family session.

Jocelyn and Caleb - Laguna Beach

2014-03-26T10:00:00.000-07:00

I started the year feeling blessed by having so much work. Jocelyn and Caleb were married on the beach in January. At the beginning of the season I was feeling sad that California didn't have a proper winter season. I love the cold weather and even though winter is very short in California I enjoy it as much as I can. However for some reason, we didn't really have one this time :/. Well that feeling went away really fast when I had a few weddings at the beach and every time the weather was just perfect. Just like this one. Beautiful California.

Photographing children

2014-03-24T22:27:00.000-07:00

Photographing children can be a little bit challenging yet very rewarding knowing that you've recorded times that will always be there for you to enjoy. I can see it specially in my nieces and nephews because I have been photographing them since they were born. I posted many sessions of them and usually when I have an new idea I try it on them first. At the same time I feel blessed to see how much they're growing through their photos. I captured them as babies and some of them still are but some of them are growing too fast. And as I've photographed my nieces and nephew many times, I also have many repeated clients. I love seeing how their children are growing and I'm a able to capture that moment for them and their families to cherish for the rest of their lives.

My sister became a mom for the second time to a beautiful baby boy, Julian.

Mathew is going to be 4 yrs old.

And Gracie is turning 2 this year.

I posted many photos of the twins Gabby and Izzy on my blog before.

Cinthia and Gracie

2013-10-29T16:50:00.000-07:00

I was so happy to be able to spend a lot time with my little niece Gracie when she and her mom, my sister in law Cinthia came to visit us this summer from Houston. I had a little session with them in my studio. Although it is a little hard to make her smile, once she starts she's the cutest! I love her and miss her so much.

Our trip to the Redwoods

2013-10-01T14:17:00.004-07:00

Last month my husband Eddie and I decided to drive up to the Redwoods of Northern California.. We packed up, got Chico our chi and left for the long Labor day weekend. As for me, I always try to make my trips photography trips. I take my camera and take as many photos as I can. I took some photos of the trees and San Francisco. Every time we've been there it's cold and overcast... this time wasn't different but I wanted to take a photo of the Golden Gate from a different perspective. We went up this hill right before sunrise. It was very scary because we didn't realize how foggy it would be. We couldn't see a thing so we decided to park and wait for some light. We waited and waited and all we saw was fog. Eventually the Golden Gate became visible at least a for a little bit surprisingly very close to us. These are some photos of our trip. Hope you like them.

My weekend

2013-05-20T15:36:00.001-07:00

I had a nice weekend. Busy Saturday but I got to relax on Sunday. Eddie and I picked some apricots from our tree. I just love seeing all these beautiful fruits. We got so much that I think I will be making apricot jam :)

Our avocado tree with tiny avocados. This will be my diet this summer.

And our apple tree. You can see little apples but still flowering. This tree has been giving us apples pretty much since we bought the house last year.

She's getting married in May and I can't wait. We went to Union Station in L.A. for their engagement session.

2013-02-27T12:26:00.004-08:00

Last weekend Eddie and I, took a little photography trip to Catalina Island. It was just so relaxing sitting on the beach doing nothing but looking at the water and taking pictures. The weather couldn't have been more perfect.

These were shot with my new Sony Nex7

And these with my favorite Nikon

Holly - In Studio

Love this set of photos I took of my niece Holly. It gave a chance to test my studio and the beautiful natural light coming in.

2013-01-31T11:14:00.002-08:00

So this weekend Eddie and I tried brunch at Sevilla and I had to post this photos. Specially of the dessert. They had so much good stuff. It is now my favorite place for brunch also. Such a great meal specially because the next day we started our slow carb diet.

Yep! so one day searching for an easy way to control what we eat. I came across salads in Mason jars. Of course on pinterest. So this week I decided to start making these. So far they're working great. Eddie takes them to work and he seems to be into them. This also makes it easier to follow a diet since they're always ready to eat in the fridge. I just spent one day cooking the chicken and meat and cutting all the veggies. If you want more infor on how to make these just type Mason jars salads on Pinterest and lots of ideas will show.

Josh & Kate - Balboa Beach

Nashblin's Quinceañera - Norco

2013-01-24T17:14:00.000-08:00

Last October Nashblin turned 15 years old. She's my one of best friends' daughter. I remember visiting my friend at the hospital when Nashblin was born, she was so little that I didn't even see her laying on the bed with her. It just seems so bizarre seeing her so grown up now.

What's on my mind...

2013-01-22T13:12:00.002-08:00

Do you Zumba? I know this has nothing to do with photography. I started going to Zumba classes a few months ago and it has quickly became my favorite thing to do.

We started juicing last year and we love it. Not only because the juices I make are delicious (it helps we now have an apple tree and have access to fresh oranges) but it is basically the only way I was able to add fruits and vegetables to my diet.

And these are some of my veggies. Collard greens, jalapeno and squash.

This is where I'm planning to have my vegetables and herbs garden.

This is our avocado tree and right behind is our apple tree.

I'll post more pics of my garden when it's ready ;)

Studio

2013-01-18T15:31:00.000-08:00

As I mentioned on a couple of blogs ago, I have a few projects I'm working on. The main one right now is getting my studio ready. I'm so excited to have clients come to my studio.

This is how my studio looks like right now. I'm still working on my office area.

And these are some photos I took of my niece Alexis.

Maternity - Lake Gregory

2013-01-10T18:00:00.000-08:00

Living in the southern part of Argentina, I remember waking up to a beautiful white landscape outside my window. I love the snow so much and have so many great memories in it. Last Saturday I was so lucky to be able to photograph Natasha and her family in the snow. We were planning this shoot for a while but the weather wasn't cooperation. Finally we had to schedule it because she's due very soon. So we decided to go ahead and have the session at Lake Gregory. Lucky for us there was snow! We were freezing but it was so worth it. Natasha and Robert are having their second baby at the end of this month and I can't wait to photograph the new baby.
