The computer, which uses quantum phenomena such as superposition and entanglement to perform computation, is called Quantum computing. The computers we are using today, smartphones, cameras, laptops, even the government that uses super computers. They all are a classical computer. We are taking advantage of every day classical computers. By the way, we do all our important work easily. But there are many problems, which today's system will never be able to solve. There is not necessary computational power in the world to do some complex operations.So we need such computers, which can do such tasks fast. Quantum computing are very fast. And can do such tasks easily.

How do your Classical computer work

First, know how classical computers work. Well, computers have many parts, but the processor is the part that calculates all of the computer. The smallest part in the processor is the transistor. Such trillions of transistors are inside a processor. The computer understands only two numbers, "0" and "1" which is called binary number. Meaning "1" is understood if the transistor is on, and "0" if off. Any software that you use, or play a game, the computer processes it in binary numbers only. The smallest data that a computer can process is called a bit. The bit can be "0", or it can be "1".

How quantum computers work

Quantum computers work on the principle of Quantum mechanics. It works in Qubits instead of "bits". So question arises that "What is a Qubits?". Qubits are also called quantum bits. Common computers work in bits. The bit can either be 0, or it can be 1 at the same time. But Qubit works on state. It can be in both 0 and 1 state at the same time. Because of this the quantum computer is able to do a lot of calculations simultaneously. And this makes it faster. Till these Qubits are not observed, they are in all possible states simultaneously. Which is called spinning state. Instead of measuring the spinning state from 1 and 0, three states named "up", "down", and "both" are measured. Quantum-mechanical phenomena such as superposition and entanglement are used to create the state of these Qubit.
There are many ways in which qubit can be created. One method of which is to create and maintain a quantum state using superconductivity. To work for extended periods of time with superconducting qubits, they have to be kept at very cold temperatures. Any heat in the system can cause an error. Hence Quantum computers are run in vacuum at absolute zero temperature.

What is quantum supremacy

This is a term given in 2012 by Professor Jhon Preskill of theoretical physics. We have a lot of information about quantum computing in theory, but we are still far away to create and use it in reality. We still cannot use it commercially. When we create such a quantum computer that, leaving today's computers behind, then we can say that we have achieved quantum supremacy.

Something similar has been done by google company a while back. By 2018, Google has made a 72 Qubit processor named Quantum Processor Bristlecone. Google says that they have made such a processor. Which can do the complex calculation in 200 seconds, which would have taken 10,000 years for classical computers. This proves that we can use quantum technology. IBM, Intel, Microsoft companies and many startups like D-wave are also engaged in making quantum computers. This technology is still in its early phase, and will take a lot of time to come into the market.

Possibilities

Due to performing many calculations at the same time, it can be used in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. Today's security system is a big threat from quantum computers. Because it can break encryption easily. In 1994, Peter Shor created a quantum algorithm to factor integers, which can decrypt today's secure communication. Similarly, strong encryption can also be created.

Well in this Blog, I will use plain language to tell you exactly what an Arduino is. You'll learn What is Arduino programming language, and most importantly by the end of this lesson you'll know if Arduino is right for your project.

what is Arduino -

I think the best way to explain what an Arduino, is to start with for what you can use it for. Arduino is a tool for controlling electronics. So think about a pencil, a pencil is a tool to help you to write stuff. You need to write something down and you could grab a pencil. Same idea with Arduino. When you need to control some electronic stuff, you used an Arduino.

What do it mean by electronic stuff -

There are two general types of electronics stuff.

First is inputs that gather information
second is outputs that do things

So for inputs, you can kind of think of all the types of sensors out there. Like temperature sensors, light sensors, touch sensors, flex sensors, humidity sensors, infrared sensors, distance sensors, all these types of sensors out there. So, you can think of those sensors as input devices, and those types of sensors can be read by an Arduino board. Now outputs could be things like DC motors, stepper motors, servo motors, solenoids, LCD displays, LED indicator lights, speakers, and electrical stuff that have some type of action in the world. Arduino Board is used to read inputs given by the user in the form of coding and control outputs. So that's kind of what Arduino can do.

How does Arduino work -

So when we talk about Arduino we're really kind of talking about three things. We have the physical component of Arduino which is called Arduino boards. Now there's a bunch of different types of Arduino boards. There is many number of different Arduino boards but the Arduino board which is so popular that Arduino board is called Arduino UNO. All Arduino boards share one thing which is common, and that they all have a microcontroller on them.

What is a Microcontroller -

"A microcontroller is basically a small computer". So when you are going to learn how to use Arduino, you're basically learning how to use a microcontroller and the microcontrolleris what enables you to read those different inputs, and control those different outputs. So when someone says Arduino board, they're talking about something physical, it looks like this, it's a printed circuit board, and it's got some electrical components on it. But the Arduino is more than just hardware, it's also software and that thing is called the Arduino IDE.

What is Arduino IDE -

"Arduino IDE stands for integrated development environment". It is a software application that you download on your computer and then you use it to program the boards. Now it's a completely free software and it's easy to use. It looks a lot like a text editor. The Arduino IDE(integrated development environment) is where you can write your code that its gets loaded onto the Arduino board itself.

What is Arduino programming language -

The main part of this Arduino is the Arduino code. The code that you write inside the Arduino IDE, is what ultimately gets loaded onto the microcontroller that's on these Arduino boards and the code that you write in Arduino is called a Arduino sketch
Now the Arduino code itself is basically C and C++ programming language, but with some Arduino-specific functions and structure. So if you program an Arduino, you're basically gonna be programming in C, C++ programming languages.

What is Arduino?

There is three things:-

There's the physical hardware that uses a microcontroller
The Arduino IDE is known as the Arduino development environment
There's the Arduino code itself and that's called a sketch and it gets loaded onto the Arduino board

So those are the three components that basically make up what quote or unquote Arduino is and kind of roughly what it does.

Is Arduino is right for your project?

Well I have a couple different rules of thumb, here's the first one. Most Arduino projects go something like this. You have an input and output, and you also have some logic in between the two. So for example:- maybe you have a temperature sensor and if the reading of the temperature sensor is above a certain threshold, you wanna turn on some cooling fan and that would be your output. So you have some input, you apply some logic to that input, and then you have an output. Now it doesn't have to be so narrow of an input. You know we could have something like if the temperature is in this range, and the time is this and the sun isn't shining, then you know maybe you wanna turn on a light switch on the radio, and move that lever back to its original position. So if you're project kind of follows this basic idea that you have inputs and outputs and you need to control them then yes, Arduino is probably gonna be a good fit.

What Is A Blockchain

Like the name indicates, a Blockchain is a chain of blocks that contains information. It went by mostly unused until it was adapted by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009 to create the digital cryptocurrency Bitcoin. A blockchain is a distributed ledger that is completely open to anyone. They have an interesting property: once some data has been recorded inside a blockchain, it becomes very difficult to change it.

How The Blockchain Works?

Well, let’s take a closer look at a block. Each block contains :-

Data
The Hash of the block
The Hash of the previous block

01 | DATA

The data that is stored inside a block depends on the type of blockchain. The Bitcoin blockchain for example stores the details about a transaction in here, such as the sender, receiver and amount of coins.

02 | THE HASH OF THE BLOCK

A block also has a hash. You can compare a hash to a fingerprint. It identifies a block and all of its contents and it's always unique, just as a fingerprint. Once a block is created, it’s hash is being calculated. Changing something inside the block will cause the hash to change. So in other words: hashes are very useful when you want to detect changes to blocks. If the fingerprint of a block changes, it no longer is the same block.

03 | THE HASH OF THE PREVIOUS BLOCK

The third element inside each block is the hash of the previous block. This effectively creates a chain of blocks and it’s this technique that makes a blockchain so secure.

Let's take an example. Here we have a chain of 3 blocks. As you can see in photo👇👇, each block has a hash and the hash of the previous block. So block number 3 points to block number 2 and number 2 points to number 1. Now the first block is a bit special, it cannot point to previous blocks because it's the first one. We call this the Genesis Block. Now let's say that you tamper with the second block. This causes the hash of the block to change as well. In turn that will make block 3 and all following blocks invalid because they no longer store a valid hash of the previous block. So changing a single block will make all following blocks invalid.

WHAT PROBLEMS THEY DO SOLVED

Using hashes is not enough to prevent tampering. Computers these days are very fast and can calculate hundreds of thousands of hashes per second. You could effectively tamper with a block and recalculate all the hashes of other blocks to make your blockchain valid again. So to mitigate this, blockchains have something called proof-of-work.

PROOF- OF- WORK

It's a mechanism that slows down the creation of new blocks. In Bitcoins case: it takes about 10 minutes to calculate the required proof-of-work and add a new block to the chain. This mechanism makes it very hard to tamper with the blocks, because if you tamper with 1 block, you'll need to recalculate the proof-of-work for all the following blocks. So the security of a blockchain comes from its creative use of hashing and the proof-of-work mechanism. Blockchain can secure themselves in more than one way that's by being distributed.

PEER- TO- PEER NETWORK

Instead of using a central entity to manage the chain, blockchains use a peer-to-peer network and anyone is allowed to join. When someone joins this network, he gets the full copy of the blockchain. The node can use this to verify that everything is still in order.

HOW CAN THEY BE USED

Now let's see what happens when someone creates a new block. That new block is send to everyone on the network. Each node then verifies the block to make sure that it hasn't been tampered with. If everything checks out, each node adds this block to their own blockchain. All the nodes in this network create consensus. They agree about what blocks are valid and which aren't. Blocks that are tampered with will be rejected by other nodes in the network. So to successfully tamper with a blockchain you'll need to tamper with all blocks on the chain, redo the proof-of-work for each block and take control of more than 50% of the peer-to-peer network. Only then will your tampered block become accepted by everyone else. This is almost impossible to do! Blockchains are also constantly evolving. One of the more recent developments is the creation of smart contracts. These contracts are simple programs that are stored on the blockchain and can be used to automatically exchange coins based on certain conditions.

Now you must have come across the terms artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning and numerous questions would have popped into your head, what exactly are they, how they are different from each other and what purpose do they serve. So this session would help you to understand the difference between these three terms (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning), so I'll start off by asking you a very simple question, so tell me what is it that makes humans intelligent, well we as humans can think learn and make decisions and that is what what makes us intelligent. Now imagine if machines can show human-like intelligence, a machine which can think and make decisions like humans, that is truly amazing isn't it?

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is basically that field of computer science which emphasizes on the creation of intelligent machines which can work and react like humans. So now that we know what artificial intelligence is. Let's see where do machine learning and deep learning fit in. So you can consider artificial intelligence to be the broader umbrella and machine learning and deep learning to be a subset of it or you can also say that machine learning and deep learning are a means to achieve artificial intelligence.

Machine Learning

Now let's see what Machine Learning is? So machine learning is basically the subset of artificial intelligence where we teach a machine how to make decisions with the help of input data so we'll understand machine learning with this little example. So what do you see over here in a picture, what is this exactly? well it's a bird and what about others, this again is a bird and this below the bird? well this too is a bird. Now how do you all of these are birds? Well as a kid you might have come across a picture of a bird and you would have been told by your kindergarten teacher or your parents that this is a bird and your brain learned that anything which looks like that is a bird and that is how our brain functions. But what about a machine now if I take in this image of the bird and feed it to a machine will it be able to identify it as a bird? So this is where machine learning comes in so what I'll do is I'll take all of these images of the birds and keep on feeding them to the machine until it learns all the features associated with it and once it learns all the features associated with it I'll give it new data to determine how well it has learnt or in other words first I'll feed in training data to the machine so that it can extract or learn all the features associated with the training data and once the learning is done. I'll give it new data or the test data to determine how well the learning is done and this is the underlying concept of machine learning.

Deep Learning

Now let's head on to Deep Learning, so deep learning is the subset of machine learning where we develop intelligent algorithms which mimic human brain. So now the question which arises over here is how do we mimic human brain? Well to answer that let me ask another question. So what is the brain composed of? Well a brain is primarily composed of neurons. Isn't it and these neurons send and receive electrochemical signals so we have a neuron over here and the electrochemical signals are received through the dendrite, the processing of these signals is done in the cell body and the output of these input signals is sent to other neurons to the axon and if our task is to mimic human brain all we have to do is create artificial neurons and these artificial neurons work the same way as biological neurons. So to implement deep learning we'll have to create artificial neural networks and these artificial neural networks comprise of an input layer, a hidden layer and an output layer so all of the inputs are received through the input layer and the processing is done in the hidden layer and the final output is received through the output layer.

Conclusion

To sum it up artificial intelligence is the broader umbrella, machine learning is the sub set of artificial intelligence and deep learning is the sub set of machine learning. Machine learning and deep learning are basically methods to achieve artificial intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence or A.I has the potential to revolutionize our world. The way we do things and how we live and you can say that it's already started to do that A.I will be one of those big tools that propels us into a new future like computers and the internet did decades ago recently. We have seen many examples of neural nets in particular from speeding up video games production and making graphics more realistic to solving age-old physics problems like the three- body orbit problem, so that's all well and interesting but we have recognize that today in the field of A.I we have building off the shoulders of gaints.
So the question must be asked "Who Is Those Original Giants", "How Did Artificial Intelligence
Come To Be", "Who Were The People That First Dreamed Their Computers Could Think For Themselves", "Who Are The Pioneers Of A.I".

The Origin Of Artificial Intelligence

As soon as the computers came into existence, scientists began fascinating about how they could revolutionize our world. Even in 1960s they theorized that one day computers would be able to think for themselves. There are many pioneers that laid the foundation of A.I even as far back as 'Aristotle'

introducing associationism in 300BC and this would start our attempt to understand the human brain; but in this blog, but in this blog we have going to focus more on the more recent notable contributions.

Frank Rosenblatt - The First Pioneer

The so called fathers of A.I is Frank Rosenblatt. The first attempt and the beginning of A.I all starts with Psychologist " Frank Rosenball " in 1957 in the time he developed, what was called " Perception ". A Perception was a digital neutral network that was designed to mimic a few brains neurons.
Frank's first task for the networks was to classify images into two categories. He scanned in the images of men and woman and he hypothesized that over time the network would learn the difference between men and woman or at least see the patterns that made men look like men and women like women. Just a year later the media caught onto the idea and the hype was strong.

In 1958 The New York Times reported that the perceptron was to be quote the embryo of an electronic computer that will able to walk, talk, see, write reproduce itself and be conscious of its existence. Unfortunately for Frank Rosenblatt despite the higher his neural network system didn't work very well at all this was because he only used a single layer of artificial neurons making it extremely limited in what it could do and even worse. There wasn't much that could be done about it at that time. Computers of that day could only handle this simple setup. These problems were never solved and by 1969, the computer science community had abandoned the idea.

Problems with Frank Rosenblatt Single Layer

Geoffrey Hinton and his team quickly realized that the problem with Frank Rosenblatt single layer approch was that more layer were needed in the network to allow for much greater capabilities and the computers of that day were not powerful enough to handle it. This multi-layer approach solved the problem that Frank Rosenblatt had. Today we call this multi-layer approach " A Deep Neural Network ".

Geoffrey Hinton - The Father Of Artificial Intelligence

Everyone may have given up on the idea but decades later a computer scientist by the name of " Geoffrey Hinton " thought that everyone else was just plan wrong. He theorized that the human brain evidently made for an incredibly powerful system to him, this was as much proof as he needed. Artificial neutral networks and the human brain evidently made for an incredibly powerful system to him, this was as much proof as he needed. Artificial neural network had to work somehow maybe they just needed, some tweaking. Geoffrey Hinton saw the genius in the idea that everyone else missed.

Nodes and Weight

Just for clarification " NODES is a artificial neurons " and " WEIGHT represents the strength of the connection between neurons (Nodes) ". Weight can be changed to do learning and what a neurons does is take the activites on the connections times. The weight adds them all up and then decides whether to send an output and if it gets a big enough sum, it sends an output and if the sum is negative, it does not send anything and all you have to do is just wire up a gazillion of those just figure out how to change the weight and it'll do anything. It's just a question of how you change the weight.

Yann Lecun - The Pioneer

In 90s a man by the name of Yann Lecun would build a program which recognized handwritten digits. This program would go used widely buy Yann Lecun would also go on to be an A.I. Pioneer in his own right. Lecun would study under Geoffrey hinton and would lead the research that made " Hinton's theory of Backpropagation "
Backpropagation is simple terms is the process of computers learning from their mistakes and hence becoming better at given task much the same way humans learned from trial and error.

Artificial Intelligence has rapidly grown of less than two decades from the fringes of science to the centerpiece of the world. Without the work of the pioneers who refuse to give up our future may be very different perhaps we do not fully understand the potential of A.I. but nonetheless it should be obvious that their work has created a significant point in human history much like the invention of fire, the wheel, electricity, computers and the internet.
