Review: Fauxnad image plates

Today I'm reviewing two imageplates from KKCenterHK.

I chose B55 and B109 for the review. Here they are, still with the plastic on them which makes them look a little scratched.

I thought I'd bring you in the Valentine's sphere with some hearts. I feel like these imageplates are a little less deep than the konad ones. At least that's what I think that's the reason why the heart above looks a little scratched.

The stamping plates cost $4,74 and come without the scraper and stamp, these cost $4,22 so I don't know if they work as well as the Konad ones.

I'm actually quite pleased with the quality of these image plates. I think that these imageplates are fine when you're looking for a pattern that is not on the Konad plates but otherwise the real ones are good ofcourse because you're paying the around the same amount of money.

My top 10 of 2011 polishes

I'm so glad to be back, I felt like I HAD to blog on the last day of the year. I just checked and I've only posted 3 times in December, shame on me. I've been so so so busy and ofcourse when you really want to you can make some free time. I've had this scenario for the last month: applying a perfect manicure - "oh it's dark I'll photograph tomorrow" - next day: dark again.. So I really need a proper photo studio. badly.

I went through all my posts of 2011 and picked my favourite polishes. I defenitely haven't posted all polishes that I bought this year, so I checked my helmer to find some other lovelies too. I really could not make a list from 1 to 10 so the polishes you see are not listed like that.

1. Kiko 270. I'll start of with one of the best. Oh how I loved this one when I saw it in the bottle. I instantly wanted to try it on a billion base colours and it looks so good in a nail polish ring too. I got so many comments on this manicure. I bought this one when I was in Berlin in May. I didn't know they had a Kiko store in Berlin so I went crazy when I saw the reflection of the word KIKO in another shop window. My friend said; "More polish?" Yep haha.

2. Catrice New York from the Big City Life LE. It's one of those colours that suits me perfectly; a greyed out blue "dove" creme. A one coater.

3. Milani Gold Glitz. This one was released in end 2010 if I remember correctly, but I got it in 2011 so I want it here. We all know this one, a lovely gold glitter one/two coater. I remember wearing this one on my birthday and with Christmas. It's festive but not too eye-catching.

4. Essence Blue Addicted. The best Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe dupe I've seen for less than €2,00. I don't have to explain this one right?

5. Catrice Berlin. From the Big City Life LE too. It's not that special but I've been looking for the perfect greyed out dusty pink this whole year and I now own a hundred that are all "meh" but this one is the one :) Thanks Catrice. I've only wore it once, bad me.

6. Studio M - Purple Medaillon. Purple. Holographic. Glitter.

7. Essence Cool & the Gang. This is a dupe of Revlon Royal. Thank you Essence for being the first to sell dupes in the Netherlands of awesome polishes in the rest of the world.

8. Essence Where is the Party? More dupes! OPI Not Like The Movies?

9. Diamond Cosmetics The Naughty Intern. I love classy dark reds and this is my favourite one. DC sent it to me to review but I still have no clue how they found out my address :)

10. Essence A Hint of Mint. From the Blossoms etc... LE. I adoooore the periwinkle colour in this collection but I couldn't find it anywhere when I was in Berlin. So anyone? :) I love wearing this with an all black outfit and a leather jacket.

I noticed that I have a lot of glitter, hexagon and festive polishes in my top 10 while I mostly wear more simple colours, I guess these were the ones that really stood out in my blog/helmer.

Hi! My god I'm so busy so life gets in the way of blogging. I have the whole Essence Vampire Love polish collection to show you, I'm reviewing some fauxnad plates, Demak'Up products and Lush Lemony Flutter and I'm working on a how-to. I want to apologize for my sucky iPhone quality pictures :)

Nail polish battle field.

Glow Festival in Eindhoven (The Netherlands). All of the center of Eindhoven is decorated with lighting concepts made by national and international design artists. Eindhoven city was full of people for the last couple of weeks. There are some awesome pictures on their website.

Their was a beautiful lighting show on a church. It went from this to baroque patterns and more.

Wednesday I went to a concert of Tyler Ward and Boyce Avenue in Amsterdam with some friends. Tyler Ward is a singer/songwriter and got broke through via Youtube. So did Boyce Avenue. Boyce Avenue was the main act and Tyler was touring with them, but most of the visitors came to see Tyler, so did we :P

Catrice Big City Life LE - Berlin

This is Berlin, another lover from the Catrice Big City Life LE. Like most of this LE the colours are really Autumn like and greyed out. The garden was full of beautiful red and yellow leaves so I had to picture it here.

Oh yes I did.. A broken nail, so chipped polish. It's hard to photograph when it's dark outside so I had to wait until the next day but it was too late to still have a good manicure. I couldn't spare it from you. It's an old rose colour and I adore it. This is two coats, one coat is opaque too but the polish is a little more red then.

My favourites #3: Cuticle Oil

I'm not yet finished with the My Favourites series. #3 is about my favourite cuticle oil; Sally Girl Cuticle Oil. I once got it as a little extra in a swap from a lovely lady but I don't remember who swapped it with me, but thanks! It's a little bottle with just 5.3 ml / .18 fl.oz but the oil is very thin so you don't need much.

The oil smells a little orange/lemony which is logical because of the orange essence, but it's defenitely not an overwhelming smell.

What I do:
After removing my nail polish to apply another polish I always have a little ritual to apply this oil. Not only to my cuticles but also to my nails. Since nails are made out of the same material as hair - and we all know that oil is good for our hair don't we? - I think that the oil could have a good effect on my nails too. The brush makes it easy to apply the cuticle oil. I always wait for about 5 minutes after applying and then rub the oil into my nails and cuticles. Then I remove it with water and start with my manicure. My nails and cuticles always look way healthier after doing this little treatment and I've been doing it now for about a month and my nails seem stronger and they don't break as easily as they used to. So this defenitely works for me but I don't know if this is the reason for my healtier feeling nails. I also use Lush Lemony Flutter which could make a big difference, but I'll feature that one later! I defenitely give this cuticle oil a big plus!

Catrice Big City Life LE - New York

First of all: Happy Halloween! I didn't really have the time to make a Halloween manicure but I think you're glad to see something different between all the pumpkins, spiders and bloody nails. Here we don't really celebrate Halloween as crazy as the Americans do, although I think I'd like it. The doorbell did just ring and when I opened the door there were two cute little boys saying "Je snoep of je leven of een oude onderbroek geven!" which means trick or treat or give your old underpants. My first thought was to run upstairs to get an old undie somewhere but I couldn't do that to them so I obediently gave them some candy and wished them a good night.

This is New York from the Catrice Big City Life limited edition. The bottle itself deserved a picture if you ask me.

This colour was described as a dove-grey and I don't really know how to describe it. It's a blue-ish grey and it looks grey when there's not much daylight.

This is actually a colour that I didn't own yet or don't have dupes of which is quite a rare thing considering the size of my stash. It really suits me! I liked the other colours too and they were pretty rare too, except for the yellow one with the microglitter. I just don't like yellow.

My favourites #2: Basecoat

Yes, this is my all-time favourite base coat. The Essence nail art protecting base coat is a base that dries really fast and dries a little matte which I like. I've tried about a billion basecoats, from expensive to cheap. I liked some and I hated some, most of them did what they had to do, but I've never found a basecoat that really prevented staining. I've read a lot of reviews on "holy grail basecoats" and I ordered Nail Tek which seems to be awesome but never found its way to my home because of a fake Ebay seller. My nails went from looking healthy and natural to yellow, green and even blue from all the staining. But now I've found this honey, which does prevent staining!

I've been trying this one for about 2 months. The bottle looks weird and I don't know what happened to it but it used to look like the bottle on the right. Maybe it touched some nail polish remover? It seems like the glue has dried and turned a little brownish. I also heard a lot about the Essence sealing top coat that should be awesome so I'm dying to use that one too.

The bottle is white which I don't like cause I'm not able to see how much I've used already. So I scraped a bit off with some scissors, like Nihrida did too. Thanks for the tip! I've been using this base coat for about 4 months now and I've only used this since the polish is very thin.

Fall in love & a pink pinky

October - Breast cancer awareness month - is almost ending and I can't end this month without doing a pink pinky. I was messing around with Photoshop when I reminded myself of the need of a pink pinky, so I photoshopped my pinky pink. Does my pink pinky look real? How many times can you say pink and pinky in the same sentance? Pink pink pinky pink

The bows you see reflected on my nails are reflections of my camera lens. You can even see my had in it if you look closely. That's what a good topcoat does! Thanks Diamont. I almost forgot, but this is H&M Fall in love, a lovely fall colour. I'm all for playing with words today :P Anyways, I love off colours as I've already mentioned for a billion times. It's not a bright red, but not a cherry either and it looks a little brown in some lights too. Let's call it an "old red."
