Forever Beauty

It has been such an exciting start to the year!

But to tell you about it I have to start with November last year. Siri and I spontaneously went to a home party one day after work. This is where I was first introduced to Forever Living Products. That night was about the bestselling Aloe Vera products, and we also got to know a little about the business. I was already interested after that night, but it was when I saw that they had makeup products that I became really interested. I had been looking for a makeup store or distributor to cooperate with because I am doing makeup for photo shoots, and now I found an opportunity to become a distributor myself! But off course I had to try the makeup first, and I was so positively surprised! The quality is so good, the products are aloe vera based, cruelty free, kosher and halal. They are just amazing! To really test these products I brought the entire Flawless by Sonya makeup range to the studio and did an awesome pin up shoot! Leo came along too, he's so photogenic.

So in December last year I registered and joined the Forever family. It helped a lot that month because I saved so much on the Christmas gifts! But it was in January I decided to become a Forever Living Business Owner, and I am loving it! It is giving me the opportunity to work with my passion, makeup, and to develop within spa and skin care (I am a spa - and skin care therapist). It also gives me the opportunity to choose where I want to work, when I want to work and who I want to work with, not only in Norway, but in 160 countries world wide! With some hard work and patience Forever will also give me financial freedom, time to do all the things I have ever dreamed of doing and time to be with my loved ones, not to mention all the friends I am making and going to make through this business!

I am truly thankful for have been given this opportunity, and I will share my adventure with you guys here on my blog! But don't worry, this is still going to be a beauty blog. Winter, I love you even when I hate you

It is December already. Christmas is in under a month and it is safe to say that winter is here. But I shouldn't say that, shouldn't have said it weeks ago when we had our first snow fall. Winter is here. It is dark when we go to work and dark when we come home from work. It triggers something that makes me want to retreat to a soft, warm place for the next four months. A place with lots of sunlight, chocolate and colorful makeup.

I hate the cold. There is not enough fabrics in this house to keep me warm during Norwegian winters. I should just stay inside at all times, but we all know that's not happening. Winter is actually very beautiful, when the snow have covered the ground as a white blanket and the world looks so calm and quiet (and I am inside under an actual blanket sipping on a hot beverage). Then winter is fabulous! But right now I have a cold and am dreading the fact that in the morning I'll have to get up early for yet an other encounter with our coldest, darkest season.

Sneak Peak on a Photoshoot: Leo

Photographer Tore Hansen had been asking me to do a photoshoot with him for over a year and this weekend we finally agreed on a time. We decided to do a simple portrait shoot so I brought my little family along. We had a lot of fun and Leo did so good! It feels great to have some studio photos of him while he is still a puppy. I'll show you some more of the photos when I get them!

Right now I'm watching the MTV EMA while Leo is sleeping on my legs. What did you think of Nicki Minaj performance and her as a host? I kinda love her.

My Halloween Style Change Looks

Halloween is over and I am actually very pleased with my Halloween series this year even though I did not use my sfx kit. It was so much fun just playing with makeup again and creating different looks and styles that everyone can do! It is so hard for me to pick a favourite among these looks because they are so different from each other. However, I am very pleased with how I pulled off the goth look so that one is on the top for me. I also loved the hipster look because it turned out so cute and happy, putting it together and shooting it made me smile! My Halloween look 2014: Skeleton

For the Halloween party this year I did a skeleton makeup. I actually shaved my sidecut with a razor so that I could make up that too! I am very pleased with how this turned out! I used L.A. Colors Jumbo Stick in White, Yves Rocher Creamy Kohl, Gina Tricot Liquid Eyeliner, Too Faced Naked Eye Palette and MakeupMekka Powders Palette for this look.

My outfit was very simple, I just put on a suit and shirt from H&M.

This look has gotten a lot of attention lately and has been seen in many pin-boards and posts with halloween inspiration and re-dos. It is a crazy, well-done look so she totally deserves this!

Halloween Style Change #5: Bohemian

My fifth style change look is the bohemian one! I actually love this style. It is so romantic, sweet and free. If I was to wear it on halloween I would exaggerate by maybe using a carpet as a cardigan unless you have a dress or tunic in this style. This style is such a comfortable one when it comes to pieces of clothing. The tops and dresses are loose and jeans or skirts are flowy and comfy. You can have lots of prints and patterns or just plain colored pieces. Boots work perfectly fine with this look, or flat sandals. If you want to wear heels, you can wear some high heeled sandals or patterned pumps. But the most exciting part about this style is the accessoiries! The tassel bags and boots, the hair bands, necklaces, armbands and rings. It takes some time to get used to, but it is so much fun!

When it comes to makeup you want to keep it simple, but glowy. You want to feel carefree, beautiful and natural. This is a great makeup for first impressions actually, because it is not too much. You look radiant, fresh and glowing without looking too made up. Even though I rarely dress in this style, this makeup was my go to makeup for a few monnths last year.

To get the perfectly radiant, glowing base I used a lot of moisturizing products before adding makeup. At first I used Beauté Pacifique Serum Paradoxe, Vitamin A Eye Cream and Enriched Moisturizing Creme. Then I applied TBS Moisturizing primer and Moisture Foundation 08. I used elf Studio Concealer and All Over Color Stick Toasted (I think) for a bit of contouring underneat the foundation. I set the foundation with TBS Natures Minerals Foundation 00, which has light reflecting particals, before contouring with elf Warm Bronzer and adding some TBS Brush on Bronze to get that extra glow.

For the eyes and brows I used my Nudetude palette and TBS Super Volume Mascara.
Lips are made kissable with elf Lip Definer and Shaper and TBS Colourglide Shine 03.

When it comes to accessories here I can not tell you where it is all from because I do not remember. The head piece with pearls however is from Gina Tricot and the earrings (and probably more) are from Accessorize. They have so many cute pieces for looks like this!

Jeans are Levis, cardigan is Saints&Mortals and they are both bought at Carlings. The singlet is from BikBok. I do not know where the boots are from because I inherited them, but I might be able to find out if you want to know!

I am very pleased with this style actually!

Halloween Style Change #4: Preppy

Style number four in my Halloween style change series is preppy! This is a very easy style to do. Anyone has pieces in their closets that will fit the preppy style when put together in the right way. I used pinterest for inspiration on this one. You can also just think about the movie Mean Girls. Those girls are so preppy. I love that movie.

The makeup is very simple with mild contouring, blush and nude pink lips. It is so simple that I really don't see the point in writing down the products! It is actually the same as the one in my last post, I just added TBS Cheek Color 03 and Babor Camouflage Cream.

Shirt is from Wetseal, sweater is from Forever21 and jeans are Levis bought at Carlings.
The necklace (choker actually, but on my it's just a necklace) is from Gina Tricot. Shoes are from Bianco. I would rather wear some tan boots with this look if I was to wear it on Halloween. At least that is how it should be according to pinterest!

Halloween Style Change #3: Scene/Punk

I wanted to do a pastel scene style look as one of my halloween style changes, but I realized that I actually need to cut and color my hair for that. And I actually would do it, but I have promised my hair away to a hairdresser friend in November. Maybe I can try again after that! I still gave the look a shot though. It turned out a bit punk I think because I found more sidecut pictures when I googled punk than scene. What do you think?

Halloween Style Change #2: Swag

The second look for my Halloween style change series is swag! I wasn't really sure what to call it, but I think swag is pretty accurate. The thing with this style is that you need actual swag to pull it off! I took so many picture of this look to try too get the right attitude. It was fun though and I am pleased with the photos!

The makeup for face and eyes are the same as for my goth look in my last post. I made this look after the goth look so I just added some eyecolors from the same Glominerals magazine and changed the lips. For these bubblegum, fuschia lips I used Barry M Lip Paint in Shocking Pink with a TBS lip gloss on top.

I bought the sunglasses and top from the gorgeous Stephanie of thestrawberrybrunette.com. The ripped jeans are old and I was actually planning to throw them out. I think I bought them at BikBok.

The shoes are from Target. I just had to have these when we were in Hawaii. The necklace is from Gina Tricot. I have no idea where the earrings are from, I just found them amoung lots of jewelery that I don't use and though they were perfect for this look.

I tried a second outfit with this makeup. The second top is from Carlings and shoes are from wholesale-dress.net. Everyone has the chance to make this look work with what you already have in your closet! The challenge is to find your swag and attitude to wear it.

Halloween Style Change #1: Goth

Sometimes we see someone and think to ourselves: "Wow, she looks so good. I love her style! But it is so far from mine that I could never pull it off!" Can you relate? I think most of us can. I also think most of us never try that other style on because we get stuck in our own way of styling. Halloween is a day that we can be whatever and whoever we want. It is the perfect occasion to try out a new style!

I am going to try to make looks with styles that I am not used to this year. I've called this look series Halloween Style Change. You are more than welcome to suggest looks! I am trying to make them with clothes and accessories I already own. Without buying anything new you can still make an awesome costume for the Halloween party!

The first look I've chose to do in this series is goth. There is something so mysterious about the goth subculture. It might just be the dark makeup and black clothing, but they have always fascinated me.

Todays makeup look is a Geisha makeup. For this look I had to go out and find a lighter foundation than the ones I had. I ended up buying a CC cream from Gosh because it was the lightest one I could find. I don't really have that much to say about this makeup. It is a makeup look that is easy to do and everybody will know what you are dressed up as when you wear it. You can buy a costume for it, that would be the coolest, but as you can see it works perfectly fine with a dress and a cardigan.

I put my hair up in a bun and was supposed to use chopsticks in it, but the makeup brushes were closer. If I was to wear this to a party I would use chopsticks. I googled geishas a lot when doing this look and figured out that you can just fill you hair with accessoiries. I didn't have that much, hair is not something I am good at, but I think it would look better with something dangling and some more color.

The outfit is pretty simple and it shows how easy you can do this look. It would not work if it wasn't for the cardigan though. That is the first piece I though of when I decided to do this look. The cardigan is from Gina Tricot (not Bikbok like I wrote in some other post, sorry).
The super cute dress is from kjoledamen.no and it is the same dress as I used for my halloween look last year here. Shoes are from Nelly (affiliate). I love these shoes! My feet looks so long in them.

"A cat can be trusted to purr when she is pleased" - Kitty Halloween Look

After doing a leopard look for Halloween I felt like doing a sexier version so today I made a cat look! You can easily turn this into a leopard look by adding spots or check out my leopard makeup post here. This cat look is very easy to do! You can just do your makeup as usual, draw on the cat features and make/buy some ears and you're ready for the carneval (or Halloween party)!

Twilight inspired vampire look

Vampires used to be these corpse white, ugly creatures in capes and with fangs, but not anymore! Vampires have become something hip and sexy. They can hide their fangs, walk around in the shadows during the day and they sparkle in the sun. Everybody loves sparkly things, right? A lot of people choose to dress up as vampires for Halloween so today I did a vampire makeup look inspired by Twilight and Bella. I enjoyed doing this look because it is so simple and sexy. Apparently vampires nowadays just have this flawless, fair complexion, perfect bonestructure and great hair. I am very pleased with this look, but if I was to wear it on Halloween I would add fangs and lenses.

Leopard Makeup Tutorial

Halloween is coming up so fast now and I am so excited! I already know what I am going to dress up as for our halloween party, but I am going to do a few looks anyway. Hopefully I can give you some inspiration for the holiday! You might remember my leopard carneval look from last year, if not you can find it here. That is the first look I have (re)done this year just to show you how easy, and versatile, this look can be done! I would actually go as far as to call this look a 3 step makeup look that i all about contouring and having fun. I'll try to show you.

1. Base.
Every makeup look needs a good base! As always start with a clean, moist canvas. Apply your primer, I used MakeupMekka Mattifying Pore Perfecting Face Primer, on face and neck. If you are wearing a deep cleavage you should do makeup here too so prime it! At least I would. Next up is concealer and foundation. You can apply this as you normally would. I applied products that are lighter than the ones I normally use because it is easier to add the color of the darker areas after than to lighten the areas that are originally white on a leopard. I used Babor Camouflage Cream as usual under my eyes and underneat the eyebrows, but on this picture I also applied some around my mouth and on the nose. This is not really necessary since we are going to contour later, but it can help to build the effects up a bit. I then applied TBS All-in-One BB Cream in the lightest color (00) to my face and neck, and set it with e.l.f Studio High Definition Powder. If you are using cream products to contour then do not set with powder until your look is done.

2. Contour and highlight
For some this is the hardest part about this look. I recommend that you have a picture of either a leopard or a leopard makeup in front of you when you do this. If you haven't done it before I would go for a picture of a leopard makeup, I used this one last year because you can really see the contouring. There are so many different pictures of that out there so just look through them until you find one that you like and feel like rocking. For this step I have a contour and highlight palette of matte powders that I bought at the MakeupMekka store in Oslo. I could not find it on their site, but it is pretty similar to this one. If you were to go all out in this look you could cover your eyebrows, make silicone or latex pieces to the nose or even ad some hairy details. You could also make this look very simple (and sexy) and just do a nice makeup but draw in the nose, some spots and whiskers like here and here. That brings us to the last and final step:

3. Draw!
This is the fun part! And since I was only playing around with this look thinking no one is going to see it, even though I knew I was putting it on the blog, I went so over board! For this step you need three different colours; Black, brown (I used gold) and white. I used my L.A. Colors Jumbo Pencils and a black eyeliner (should be water - and smudge proof) to draw this on. Here is really where you can make or break the look. I feel that I overdid this one, but still think it looks pretty cool! I did a reversed cat eye and lots of spots here. For the spots I have just made black circles or half circles and triangles with my black eyeliner and then used the gold jumbo pencil to inside the lines. Again, find the picture you have chosen to follow and just experiment and have fun. This is a look that people are going to recognize almost however you choose to do it.

This look is also a look that you can wear in very different ways when it comes to costumes/outfits. All you need is something in white, brown or/and black, or in a leopard print. So you can be anything from plain or cute to fierce and sexy. When I wore it last year I had on my fabulous leopard body and black stockings. This body is sleeveless and if you are going sleeveless with this look I recommend drawing spots on your arms.

For a more simple look you can wear a cute leopard top with some black, skinny jeans or a skirt. If cute is what you are going for then maybe you could put your hair up in pigtails, and remember to smile with your teeth!

For a sexier version of this look let your hair down, give it some volume and maybe buy some sexy leopard ears (and a tail). Put on the little black dress and some killer heels and you're good to go! For this version I'd wear a little less makeup than here, maybe like this, and my leopard heels.

October, please be perfect

I'm having a hard time catching up to the fact that it is October already! But I can really see the effects of fall in my now so colorful garden, on the naked, shivering tree tops and feel it in the cold wind. Time goes by so fast when you are busy and constantly having to do something. I haven't gotten my clothes or makeup in order yet because my walk in closet/makeup room was the last one to get painted. When that was finally done I realized I need a lot more hangers. And drawers. So most of my clothes are still in boxes or plastic bags, but I still wanted to show you what kind of outfits I've been wearing the past week. When it comes to makeup I've only put on some mascara and blush two times this week. I've also kept it pretty simple outfit wise with my nudie jeans, boots and plain, black sweaters and tops. I'm taking a lot of walks with Leo so scarfs of all fabrics and colors are a daily accessory. It is getting pretty cold in Norway very fast now. I really wish it wouldn't.

It is now a week since we brought home our little baby Jack Russell Terrier. Right now he is fast asleep in his cage while mommy and daddy are watching The Dark Knight. He is just the most adorable little puppy! I have had the entire week off to stay home with our new family member. The days have consist of cuddling, play, more cuddling and more play. Friends and family (and their dogs) have also come by to say hello to little Leo all week. I have also had to unpack a few boxes from time to time while he was sleeping, he takes lots of naps. We're almost done moving, can't wait to get all of the boxes out!

Leo is so cuddly, and I love it! My phone is packed with photos like the two middle ones here, I could probably fill an entire wall with them if I had them printed. These photos are some of my latest instagram post,

New Agra (Indian restaurant in Skien)

Last week (before the Chippendales show) Siri (instagram: siriohagen) and I checked out this Indian restaurant in Skien called New Agra. I can not handle spicy food at all so I've been skeptical about going there to eat, but Siri convinced me. I'm glad she did! So I am writing this post to everyone in Skien who have been curious about this restaurant, but not gone there because they are afraid the food will be too spicy. The staff will ask you what grade of spicyness you want when you order so I told her I wanted my meal very mild. Mixed with rice I had no problem eating the dish!

You get very big portions at this restaurant so I will guarantee that you will be full, without spending a fortune. That's one of the reasons we ate there actually. There is not much money left for dining out after buying houses and furniture like we both just have, and it was 25 days since our last salary. Still I had enough to even buy some beers at the show!

If you visit Skien and are looking for a place to eat I would definitly recommend New Agra. The food is very tasty, and the dishes have such vibrant colors! Siris chicken dish was a bright orange color and my king prawn one was radiant red. I am a sucker for beautiful food like this.

The light that day was so beautiful. The pictures in this post is not edited and we actually only took four pictures when we where there. They all turned out so good!

I am back, in a new house and with our very own little puppy! But I have not had internet or time to blog for over a week. So I'll have to start telling you about something that happened over one week ago. Two days before we moved, three days before we brought home our Leo.

Thursday the 25th of September the guys of Chippendales came to our small town Skien. Because I promised Siri (instagram: siriohaugen) we'd go as a late celebration of her birthday I bought us both tickets to the show. None of us had been to a Chippendales show before, but we did see the movie Magic Mike together so we were pretty excited about it. We had actually planned to buy tickets months ago, but there has been so much going on for both of us and time has passed so fast. I bought the tickets only three days before the show so we got seats all the way in the back, but the mood in the Hall of The Mountain King that night was just amazing. It was packed with women (and two gay guys) of all ages, overdressed for the occasion and most of them, including myself, intoxicated in various grades. Needless to say, the sound level went of the scale with these muscular Americans every thrust. The audience kept cheering the guys out of every single piece of clothing one by one, again and again. I'm not going to say much more about the show other than that I really enjoyed it, and recommend it!

After the show, and Siri had her picture taken with the Chippendales, we sat at the bar to enjoy one last beer before heading home. I am a slow drinker so a lot of people left as we were sitting there talking about the show. Then suddenly the Chippendales guys came out looking for an afterparty. We walked with Joey (instagram: officialjoeypena) to the sportsbar they'd planned to go too and met up with all the other guys there. I have never seen that bar so full on a weekday! With the Chippendales came a lot of women hoping to have a moment with one of them, and our football team, Odds Ballklubb, had won a huge game that day so people celebrated that too. The Chippendales where such a blast to party with though. Norwegian guys don't really dance unless they are grinding on some girl or really drunk, but these guys do this for a living and made a real party on that dance floor.

We got to talk to a lot of the guys, they are all so outgoing and easy to talk to! I envy them for being able to travel the world entertaining people where ever they go. Did you know I used to act? I actually had acting lessons and was in many different theater productions when I was in school. Guess world touring with a theater or something like that has always been a dream of mine. I'd love to have more time with these guys and get to know all of their stories from touring, but they left early the next day. At least we got an awesome night out together!

Yesterday Raven and I went to a work party with his colleagues. These parties are always so much fun because the people are so damn lovable! I went for a burgundy outfit, I just keep coming back to that color at this time of year every year.
