Staying On Course

Most of us like to imagine change -- change that would make you a better person or even a better athlete. Whatever it is, you are most motivated when you set goals to make this change. The hard part is ignoring the things that may cause you to veer off from these goals and achieving the change you desire. The key is to stay focused on what matters.

There are a few things in my life that throw me off course at times. However, when I realize I'm spending too much time focusing on a particular situation I ask myself if solving the issue will benefit me in any way from a financial standpoint and if the answer is "no" which it usually is, I just send my focus elsewhere. This may be hard depending on your situation, it could be a lost one in the family, a breakup, problems in school, whatever. But remember, if you took the time and effort to thoughtfully set realistic goals for yourself, it is very unlikely that you will change your mind about wanting to achieve the end result, so by stressing over what isn't relevant your slowing down or possibly stopping this outcome. What happens more often than not is that you forget about your goals and no longer make them a priority because of whats been throwing you off course. The best way to stay on track is to constantly remind yourself that you have goals. Write your goals down and keep them in plain sight, you can also tell everyone they know about their goals. This will not only help you remember your goals but it also creates a support system. The more often you are reminded of your goals, the more likely you will put in the effort to stick with them.

Idea #5: Things To Consider Before Starting Your Journey

Examine your driving forces and motivations. Take a long and hard look at those and ask yourself if they alone are sufficient.
Prestige and recognition are enough for some, but don't rely on those alone. Public thoughts are fickle and alter with the weather. Pick a reason why that will remain solid. If you aren't sure that your "why" is strong enough then find another.
If you can't find a truly compelling reason you are probably focusing on the wrong things. Abandon your original plan and find something that truly does fascinate and hold your attention.
Work on things that you'll look back on with fond memories and a sense of accomplishment.
Intentionally force yourself into a corner, set hard and fast deadlines and stick to them. It will keep you on the path to success.

But be sure you will know when you've arrived. And then most importantly define the driving force behind why you are doing this. Is it your passion?

It must be incredibly powerful and meaningful to you, you'll encounter resistance on your journey and a strong reason why will buoy you up along the way.

Simply setting a goal to lose 20 pounds is not enough. How will your life be different when you've gotten there? How will you feel? What will you be able to do that you can't do now? What will you have learned on your journey?

What I've realized in my life is that this is what I want to do. I'm the middle child of a family that works 20 hours a day, waking up at 1:00am to work until 6:00am then leaving for another city to work from 7:00am to 9:00pm, finally arriving home around 11:00pm. They literally have no time to live or relax. Ever since I started working online, I've realized this is what I want to do for the rest of my life, teaching people about how powerful the internet is and how I can help them earn a stable income through it, freeing up time for them to shop, or spend time with their family and enjoy the luxuries in life without any financial worries.

I'm not here to sell you anything this time, because I know in the last few posts I sort of lost my way. This is a more personal post and it is also my first post written while being on the road. I don't really sleep, so I usually use this time to rest, but now that I got myself a Dell Notebook I'm able to blog more often. I'm actually on my way to Toronto, but earlier today I was at the gym. A few of my older friends rented out a basketball court for us to play. We had a great time, it felt great to get away from the work world and not have to worry about all the problems that surround us everyday financially. I'm going somewhere with this don't worry.

About an hour into playing, I looked around at all the older guys and realized that they have all achieved the lifestyle I work for everyday. Maybe they didnt get there the way I've planned but I still applaud their drive and work ethic. Its events like these that I don't think I should be taking part in. When I sat and thought about it, its only relaxing for them, they've already made it. Their lives are financially stress free, which means they have earned their relaxing time so, they're allowed to "get away" because they can afford to "get away."
However, I need to be at home studying my craft, networking and doing what I love so that one day I can be the one renting out the gym and not having to worry about anything financially, rather than the one playing in the gym for free and still financially stressed out.

Now this isn't an exact quote, but Google defines the word relaxed as being at rest; temporarily free from physical and mental stress. This simply means their lives are not stress free, and as usual Google's correct but they are financially stress free which means the problems that surround them are real problems, the problems I look forward to having. I couldn't tell you what they are because I haven't reached that point in my life yet to know but I'm sure they're much bigger, but when your financially fulfilled I'm almost 100 % sure that they can be taken care of. So if and when I get there I promise I will let you know.
