Computer Information System department at UDM. That in itself is a very challenging, yet rewarding job and I would not give it up for anything. Well of of Thursday of last week I have begun teaching boot camp classes at UDM on Thursdays from 6 to 6:45PM. These classes will be held every Thursday at this time until 2 weeks before Spring Break at the Titan Fit Zone in the basement of the Student Center.

I did this yesterday afternoon and still feeling my chest as I am typing this tonight. I actually decided to make it an easy day and do shoulders this morning, let's just say after this shoulder workout with just a suspension trainer and resistance bands was still a bear. I'm actually looking forward to doing legs today. At that point I decided I might as well go out with a bang the best way possible with resistance bands. Ironically I actually hit my chest just as hard as I do with free weights and machines. I honestly felt my chest for 2 days straight and after doing reps of 225 on barbell incline followed by 5 supersets of 5 reps with 185lbs on incline bench and bent-over rows the previous week, that says a lot.

I used primarily Bodylastic Bands unless otherwise stated.

Rotator Cuff internal/external rotation - use yellow bands / stay light

Resisted Push-Ups for 4 minutes - Lifeline Power PushUp
Chin-Ups for 4 minutes

SuperSet 3 times for 16 reps
Single Armed Decline Chest Press
Single Arm Lat Pulls

Decline Chest Press for 4 minutes
Lat Pull-Downs for 4 minutes

TRX Rip Trainer Lunge to Press
1. Perform 8 reps each leg
2. Alternate the hand positions and repeat
3. Repeat step 1
4. Repeat step 2

TRX Rip Trainer Squat to Row 3 sets of 16 reps

Double Point Incline Press for 4 minutes
Lat Extensions - using the ankle strap for 4 minutes
--Focused on scapular depression

One-Armed Chest Flies 3 sets of 16 reps
Reverse Flies 3 sets of 16 reps

Chest Expander Push/Pull Superset 3 sets of 16 reps - Lifeline Chest Expander

Battling Rope until failure which only took 5 minutes after everything mentioned above.

Ironically I have pretty much thrown Flat Barbell out of the window for the last few months and actually gained mass and definition in my chest from doing incline barbell, dumbbell exercises, resistance bands, machines, and finally suspension trainer exercises. I guess this proves that flat bench is not the one all, end all way to build your chest. Scooby also agrees lol: http://scoobysworkshop.com/2011/07/25/secret-to-massive-pecs-scooby-sets-bench-press-record/

However, it is still very intense and some people may not be able to finish it and I can guarantee that every who tries this will be sore afterwards or in the next morning. Once again this is an advance and intense leg workout and I do not advise beginners to go full force doing this.

Here's the workout:

10 single-legged pistol squats on each leg

3 sets of 16 Jump Squats

Squats with resistance bands
16 regular tempo
16 4-2-1 tempo
16 1-2-4 tempo
16 pulsating

16 resistance band Pile Squats/Dead Lifts 3 sets

Single-legged resistance band leg extensions 3 sets of 16 each leg

3 sets of cross-over (transverse plane) lunges for 8 reps each side using a suspension trainer for support
3 sets of side (frontal plane) lunges for 8 reps each side

3 minutes Lunges on each leg - resistance bands
3 minutes Lunges on each leg - suspension trainer

10 Plyo Lunges on each leg 3 sets - suspension trainer

16 Jump Squats side to side 8 on each side for 3 sets

16 Burpees

Calf Raises with resistance bands
-20 reps fast
Jumping Jacks 30 secs
-20 reps slow
Jumping Jacks 30 secs
-20 reps regular
Jumping Jacks 30 secs

3 minutes of Leg Curls on resistance bands
3 minutes of Leg Curls on suspension trainer

10 minutes of treadmill

Stretch

I actually checked out some web sites and to no surprise the ACE exam has a higher failure rate, but this may be more of people under estimating the exam material and not putting forth an effort instead of just the material alone.

Next question people may ask is, if I'm an IT Specialist why did I take the exam?

I see it as way to put a lot of negativity that I have experienced in the past behind me:

In all honesty I was not popular at all from Kindergarten to High School and teased for being fat from first to most of my eighth grade year when I finally dropped the extra weight.

Even in eighth grade after I lost the extra bulk I still got throw back about being a “former fatty”

Needless to say, for those of you who have read my Linux and technology based posts on here, I was also picked on for being a nerd for most of my life.

In addition to what I've stated already I've also had the hardest time getting a steady girlfriend

It is something I have since left alone, because in all honesty it's something that most people have ZERO control over if you are not in the right place at the right time, with the right person

Fortunately a few months ago after I finally decided to not worry about it and ignore everything that certain friends and family members have said, it looks like that may change.

This is also why I'm real quick to snap on people who cross the line between joking around and being all out disrespectful

Honestly at this point I think I have come a long way:

Seriously how big do I have to get?

At this point, I know some professional and semi-professional body builders are going to make comments about me being built like the Situation from Jersey Shore instead of Ronnie Coleman or at least Arnold in his prime.

In all honesty only about 5 percent of people who go to the gym are actually trying to do that and ironically I only see about 2 out of 5 of the guys in this group actually compete in bodybuilding or power lifting.

While I'm on the subject. I fortunately have yet to meet someone who has gotten big by using steroids like some of the professionals out there. However if I ever do I will send them to this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcQsapPz2fo

There will also be some people out there who will rant and rage about me not doing the exact same workouts that they do, because their workouts are so perfect.

However, if you see a legitimate error in form of exercises done in any future videos, please feel free to comment, and explain what was done wrong so that it can be corrected.

On that same note to trolls who may come here in the future instead of sending flaming messages use your time productively to write your own fitness blogs and produce your own videos if you feel that strongly about your arguments.

OK enough ranting and back to why I am doing this.

Like Information Technology many people actually asked me for my advice and I want to be able to give them competent advice or at the very least know where to lead them

There is a lot more to training individuals than most people realize, especially if someone has certain disabilities and ailments. I want to help improve the quality of life that individuals have not make it worse.

Many people are unaware of even where to start in terms of living a healthy lifestyles and I want to at least lead them on the right path.

I am also conscious of the fact that everyone is different and have their own unique sets of strengths and weaknesses, as well as, personal needs.

There are also people who are in the same position that I was in years ago and exercise was a great way to boost confidence and alleviate stress that is placed on many of us.

Sadly there are situations where even some adults have to deal with other adults who feel as if they need to put down everyone around them to make themselves look better. It's even worse when people have to deal with this at their jobs in what is suppose to be a professional environment.

There are also situations where people may have negativity in their own households and need some type of outlet to help them maintain their own level of sanity and health.

4. I also know that there is still a lot for me to learn which is why I plan on doing a few Group Fitness classes first, and take a physical class or in the near future that pertains to hands on education for personal training.

I received the NETA Group Trainer Certification a few months ago and plan on taking their Boot Camp class in the morning so that I will be ready to teach a course once the opportunity arrives.

Finally I had to get my certification before a buddy of mine named Dennis, aka “Killer”, got his.

Once again this:

felt almost 1.5 times harder than this:

,but still well worth the time and effort spent on it.

Simple I worked out at home and here's how I did it.

Power Cleans:
Warmed up from 125 lbs and moved up to 205 lbs, 10 pounds more than what I got in the gym last week.

Deadlifts:
Here is where I first ran into problem. I am limited to 325 lbs with my limited weights at home, which is stretch from my current 1 rep Max of 495lbs. This left me with no other choice, but to go for reps and volume.

Warmed up with 225 for 10 and then got mad at myself when I felled at 5 reps doing a raw set, took a 10 second brake and could only get 3 more reps. (There was no point in me grabbing my straps so I left them alone)

To make up for the light weight I went straight into a drop set.

5 more reps of 325
5 reps of 275
8 reps of 225
10 reps of 175
15 reps of 125

I then tried to stretch my hamstrings with balance ball leg curls and weighted Yoga style leg curls. This was OK, but a real leg curl machine in the gym is way more effective.

The Stiff-legged dead-lifts afterward were a bit a weak thanks to number of reps from the drop set.

2 reps of 275
5 reps of 225
5 reps of 225

Bent-Over Rows

Stanadard Bar Bent-Over rows 3 sets of 10

Alternating Dumb Bell Rows off the floor

2 sets of 10 with 55 lbs

Single armed dumb bell rows using a chair for leverage, like a bench

First set 85lbs for 10, then 105 for 10, next 100 for 5, and finally 85lbs for 10

Reverse Rows:

First set for 10 using 35 lb dumb bells
Second 55lbs for 10 reps
Third 55lbs for 5 reps
Forth set back to 10 reps with 35

Lateral Back Rows with the Go Fit Gym in a bag cables:

With the highest resistance 10 reps of dual-armed followed by 10 reps on each arm by grabbing both handles with one hand. Did this for 4 sets.

Pull-Ups: Using the Gold's Gym Circuit Training System:

3 sets of 10 with a 20 lb weight vest.

Cadio:

Spent approx. 12 minutes with the WiiFit.

This is the same as another witch hunt that happened back in the early 90's with rap music and certain political figures at the time. Guess what I listened to Wu-Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg when I was 12/13 while playing Wolfenstein 3D on my first PC. Guess what I did not go on a killing spree, my grades did not decline, the gates of hell did not open, and I did not de-evolve into a non-human creature. Then again my parents actually did their job. Something to think about when the 10:00 news comes on. Should we foot the bill for new regulations, because parents are too lazy and sorry to actually raise and watch their kids? May also explain why some schools also have problems, considering it's not much a teacher can do when parents act ignorant. Likewise teachers spend all of their energy explaining to the parent why the child needs to learn, which is time and energy that could actually be used to teach the child. I know this somewhat bias and one-sided and I can see someone coming down on me later on. However, why is a senator who has been making violent movies since the 80's being a little girly cry baby for special interest groups over something that has not affected over 95% of the population for the last 30 plus years, with the exception of a few instances like the Columbine shooting and what happen at Virginia Tech a few years ago. Then again video games where not the problem, the problem then was and is still bad parenting. Likewise the same could be said about cyber-bullies, who IMHO are angels compared to real bullies who physically harm, sometimes enough to send a child to ER. Likewise the victim gets tired of being beaten, especially when schools ignore the problem so that they can have good PR. This of course can lead to escalation of violent behavior between bullies and the bullied until somebody gets shot. Then again what do I know this is no where near as bad as some kid playing Mortal Kombat or Call of Duty underage now is it.

The down side will of course be the damage done to the gym lol.

OK get your buckets ready, because if a super intense workout including super sets of dead lifts, pull ups, and burpies back to back did not make you throw up this will:

10. Ke$ha - "Bla Bla"
9. Master P - "Dem Jeans"
8. Beyonce - "Irreplacable"
7. Hurricane Chris - "Halle Berry"
6. Dorrough - "Hood Chick"
5. SoulJa Boy - "Kiss me Through the Phone"
4. Bone Crusher "Grippin the Grain"
3.Plies - "Dat B"
2.Cali Swag - "Teach Me How to Dougie"
1.504 Boyz Feat. Krazy - "Look At me Now"

Number 8 is a slap in the face to every real man out like most of her stuff. It's like Oprah now in music form. Number one is an absolute insult to 2Pac's legacy.

Dishonerable Mention:

Usher - "OMG"
Man-Skirts in a video are you flipping kidding me.

Cash Money Millionaires - "Project Chick"
Using Atari blips and bloops for instrumentals, SMH. However this has been out doen by both the Ke$ha and Plies songs mentioned earlier. The garbage lyrics have even been topped by none other than Dorrough.

Ja Rule - "Always on Time"
Do I even need to get started.

Its even funnier how people who blame Obama for the current Oil Crisis are now crying about BP getting all of our money when we buy gas, since nearly all gas companies really are owned and/or controlled by OPEC. Funny how these same people were probably more than happy to buy their stock and then got greedy and placed their entire life savings into the stock market and blamed Obama for a market crash that took place months before he was even elected. Yes, because gambling all of your life savings in something like the stock market is super smart. Funny how they were quiet as church mice during the Bush years when people were already loosing their homes and the economy went in a depression. Yes I said it a depression, not a recession I'm actually not afraid to speak the truth about what is happening to the majority of the country and not just those with soft government jobs or working at places owned by their mommies and daddies. I also find it hilarious that people who worship Reaganomics like a religion decided that houses would go up in value like and never go down, and the more you bought, the more money you got. Back then it seemed like a good idea, I mean with oil wells running dry a new market had to be created. However, the idea of something going up in value for no reason, selling said items, and then buying more to be sold, until you become rich sounds like something else that took place in the 1980s and 1990s: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comic_book_collecting

OK now back to the oil crisis, I may be wrong but weren't there a lot of conservatives that have been pushing for more drilling for years including in Alaska, because they believed the environmental issues didn't exist and were made up. Yes they are correct the BP incident is all a Liberal Fantasy that no one should believe, plus conservative leaders would never place their financial gains over the safety of the voting public or the environment.

Yep deregulation and greed are such a wonderful things:

I know Obama has made some serious mistakes in his tenure, most notably the health care and bail-outs. The later, which Bush approved of before leaving office. However, why is he the only person being questioned about this, why not other politicians or the company owners/stakeholders? While I'm on the subject I wonder if anyone would have questioned Bush for firing a General who he thought was disrespectful. The same people who are so against Obama are super quite about deregulation during not only the Reagan years, but also the Bush/Cheney years as well. I would seriously like to know when and if government officials and regulators who were bribed will ever face the proper consequences. Yes I said bribe, because lobby is not buy a euphemism for bribing or giving out a bribe.

Looks like even rock stars agree that the Oil Companies and individuals they bribe are full of it:

Yes I decided to use a rock video instead of hip-hop, because perfectly depicts what is happening in this world today. Plus its by my rock favorite band, out of a very small pool (I'm very picky) :)

Let's see Apple's products seem to be missing something, like real keys.

This is why some apps need physical keys"
http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/05/25/snes-hd-emulator-for-ipad-looks-sick-even-the-iphone-controller/

I have Double Dragon on my Droid Eris and the touch screen for a D-Pad and A/B buttons makes it almost none playable. I can only imagine how horrible SF4 really was for real players and non-iEverything fan boys that have played Street Fighter with REAL controllers. Only way it could be worse is playing the atrocious ports of SF 1 and 2 on MS-DOS. Don't even get me started ;(

Don't worry Apple isn't the only company using sub-par control schemes and desktop interfaces.

'In Angry Video Game Nerd Voice' Oh yeah what was Toshiba thinking? Why don't they just make a slide out keyboard with the touch screen as an option. I mean seriously imagine typing a full report and full program on this:
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2010/06/courier-lives-kinda-with-new-toshiba-dual-screen-portable.ars

Geez its funny how Nintendo learned their lessons from the VirtualBoy and now have something that people want in 3D and FULL COLOR since B&W is dead. Ihe same respect gaming with no buttons at all died with the Atari, before this gamer/professor was even born. Yeah using techniques that were outdated before some college professors were even born is so cutting edge.

On the subject of dead technology Steve Jobs is dead wrong about Flash being dead. There are way too many Flash Games that require a computer Mouse/Keyboard set up for a full experience. On top of that too many business are using Flash for not only advertisement and videos, but also business applications. That's right soem programmers still build business applications. Now back to problems with touch screen only gaming, a prime example would be playing Doom or Quake on a touch screen vs. WASD (or analog stick) and mouse (or track ball). I mean seriously there are some games that DO NOT work or can be done practically on small screen screen. In his world everything will be done on the iPhone including watching the Super Bowl. In the words of every real man in the US, "Force me to watch sports games on a tiny 6 inch screen and throw my 60-inch in the trash, you will have some problems". P.S. since I just mentioned American Football during World Cup season allow me to share this clip:

I think he's afraid of Flash and Flash-like applications on devices other than the PC, including those for Samsung TVs.

http://www.samsung.com/us/samsungapps/

Now back to my rant on mobile phone as a main gaming platform. They can't even replace the portable consoles let alone home consoles. The old DS and PSP already made the iPhone games look like garbage, so the 3DS blow them way out of the water. The main purpose of these games on phones is to put as many things into one device as possible, and satisfy (really hate this term)casual gamers who want to play something for 5 to 15 minutes spurts while waiting to get something done. All Adobe needs to do is add USB controller/joystick support and make the platform accessible to TVs and other devices that support apps.

Speaking of the 3DS Nintendo needs to give us a good app store that includes user made content, both free and commercial or else they may loose some customers to the GPH Caanoo. Not only will it have an awesome app store including original and ports of PC and console games, but it will be 100% hackable out of the box. :) the 100% hackable part has already got my attention, but I'll probably buy 2 3DS units one to play and one to hack without worry about firmware. Thanks Hak5 for for our show or else I would not have known about this:

Oh yeah one more thing while I'm on the subject of Nintendo and E3, it pretty much was their virtual middle finger to all of the spoiled brats who constantly whined about the Wii not being HD or having everything but the kitchen sink. Here's a lesson kids when you run a business you need to think about the majority of your customers and possible customers. This means cutting features to keep the price tag low due to the recession that Nintendo and other smart companies saw a mile a way between 2004 and 2006. They knew people were loosing jobs or taking salary cuts left and right, so they simplified the machines as much as possible, while fitting the desires of most consumers. If it makes the emo HD fanboys who still live in their parents basement at the age of 30 better, their next home console should include HD and should come out within a year after the 3DS, especially since Nintendo brings out a new console every 5 years since the NES in 1986.

People keep asking me why am I single, and I try to explain to them I am not jumping at everything that breathes. Not too mention I don't exactly have dozens of women following me to begin with. Wish it was true, but its not and I would still like to know how the rumor got started. To make it worse people keep hounding me about it and talk to me like I'm stupid, because I find it difficult or they find lame excuses for women who are literally on other stuff. The stupid and weak remarks are killed off my the fact I can normally out bench/lift them and perform calculations and tasks on multiple operating systems, while they are still trying to figure out how to run Linux or even what it is. Those of you who are my friends on Facebook saw my Anti-Valentine Profile pic, this is why. I thought it was the only way to tell people to mind their own business and stay out of mine. Not to mention the blind dates cause more harm than good 90% of the time. Its even worse when the person who tries to hook you up, really doesn't know the person in the first place. Then of course people ask me what I'm looking for and that I may be too picky or dishonest with myself and others about. Funny I have found plenty of women that fir that description, but I won't get too deep into that.

Anyway this leads into the meat of what I have to talk about, which identifies what I'm looking for in woman. Someone who is on my level spiritually and mentally. Someone who will accept me for who I am and not try to change me. This means not looking at every last fault I have and throwing it in my face. Someone who does not constantly look at my bank account and/or try to spend every last cent. Someone I can have a real conversation with about serious stuff and remain respectful even if we disagree. Oh yeah number 1, be respectful

Another thing guys who are reading this we should definitely avoid animal killers:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2009/07/15/2009-07-15_cheyenne_cherry_taunts_animal_activists_after_getting_plea_deal_killing_kitten_i.html

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2010/01/21/2010-01-21_shameless_cat_killer_cheyenne_cherry_who_raosted_a_kitty_as_a_joke_gets_two_year.html

Crazy part is, the way this girl acted during her trial is exactly how crazy women act on a date once their cover is blown.

Last, but not least there is no perfect formula, equation, or pattern to finding the right person so keep off my case about it. It's even been proven scientifically and mathematically:

http://digg.com/people/Tutor_has_calculated_probability_of_ever_finding_true_love

I know this was non-technical and probably useless to most of you, buy I had to get it off my chest.

I recently found an interesting study, and a lot of truth to it if you stop and think about.

http://arstechnica.com/science/news/2010/01/us-may-have-a-long-term-increase-in-psychological-illness.ars

More people are stuff they don't need and can't afford due to social pressure. The cost of said goods goes up and become harder for people to buy them. People who can't detach themselves form objects become irratable and start lashing out. People have turned Wallstreet into Greek Town and are now mad they put their entire life savings in stock. I know that last comment made people mad, but its the truth and just like a casino you should use common sense and leave while you are a head.
No matter how you sugar coat it its still gambling. OK I got way off track.
Last but not least it has turned the search for finding a significant other in Western society into pure hell, but that's a whole other thread. There's a lot there I have yet to mention how more people are homeless with out jobs. It's also funny that on the Arstechnica site many people in the comments section don't even care, because that would require self reflection and compassion.

That actually leads to yet another article I saw a few weeks ago. It bascially talks about how messed we really are. Any time domestic terrorists (I know they are technically street gangs, but many fit the definition of terrorists and are resposible for just as much, if not more, death and destruction as Al-Qaeda) have higher moral values than the corporations who are the "real" leader of this country you know we are in trouble.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB126213528444809699.html?mod=wsj_share_digg

Don't worry I won't kill your brain cells by including government spending plans, or even from companies who make up the big ............. As you can tell I am also in a goofy snarky mood and of course the post will match.

That and trolling if this was a certain site that will remain nameless. I mean think about it people constantly buy stuff just to brag about it and to make themselves look important. One only needs to look up into the CLOUDS for a prime example. Pun intended. I mean seriously, anyone with common sense knows the second your network connection dies you are sunk. Not to mention do you really want an outside entity to have control of all of your information and applications. I mean seriously making an OS that relies solely on the cloud will turn any PC into a worthless and over priced piece of plastic. Which is why the Chrome OS IMHO is the new VirtualBoy.

Another example would eb all of the hate people are giving Nintendo for not including HD and multicore CPUs and features that 90% of the user base will never use or care about. Here's a news flash most people, that is over 70% of people can't tell the difference between SD and HD or don't care. The only people I hear praise HD are those who are knee deep in debt trying to brag, including people who spent their kids' college funds to buy 100inch TVs. Then these non-fathers booted them out and said the TV was more important and that they need a job for food and anoterh if they want education. Nice way to to preserve family values and prevent Idiocracy. On a side note if they are such a bad company making bad decisions why are they making so much money in a recession, maybe because they saw this sand storm miles away and forewent many features to provide an affordable, yet marketable platform. Yes I know it will die off next year, but also remember that they can afford to announce a new console at E3 2010 and release it in 2011 when the PS3 will be the dominate platform. I know people are now boo-hooing about only have 2 new games a month worth buying. However who has the time or money for more unless you are still living with your parents and not working.

OK enough of my ranting check out this link to see what Professor Renee Richardson Gosline has to say about our need to own luxury items:

http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2009/real-fake.html
