Railway Ball - A Night to Remember

On 25th November 2011 it was with great pleasure that two representatives from Young Railway Professionals attended the Railway Ball in aid of Railway Children.

YRP joins the European Young Engineers

On Thursday 7th September, the Young Railway Professionals became a member organisation of EYE - European Young Engineers. EYE is a European network of young engineering professionals and students sharing knowledge, fostering mobility and developing personal and professional skills.

YRP survey results - February 2011

Thank you to everyone who took part in our Young Railway Professionals survey. We had 67 responses during the two weeks the survey was open and it has given us some useful feedback on how we can improve our events, website and newsletter in the future.

National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering gets go-ahead

Confirmation of Government funding towards the establishment of the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering (NSARE) was announced last week (16 November) by Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills, as part of the Government\'s new Skills Strategy.

YRPs featured in Transit magazine

The Young Railway Professionals have been featured in the September 2010 edition of New Transit magazine. You can now download a PDF copy of the article. In addition, New Transit magazine are offering YRP subscribers a 25% discount on their subscriptions, as well as a free sample issue to those who are interested.

Event review: IRO - London Underground Operations & Comms

IRO South East Good Practise workshops have been established following feedback from our members that they would like the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills. This event on London Underground Operations and Communications took place on 21st June 2010.

IRO Pilots Mentoring Scheme in the South East

The Institution of Railway Operators (IRO) is piloting its new Mentoring Scheme in the South East Area. Launched on May 17, 2010 the scheme forms part of the Institution’s Continuing Professional Development (CDP) programme.

The National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering

NSARE, the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering is being established with the aim to bring together the development of Railway Engineering skills under one umbrella and to co-ordinate and develop the training capability and capacity of public and private training sectors.
