Google Adwords Quality Score (QS) algorithm is directly influenced by your Click Through Rate (CTR). Thus if you cut down on the number of useless impressions you can have a higher QS and eventually pay less for your Cost Per Click (CPC). Besides that you are obviously also saving on clicks that occur as a result of displaying your ad for those negative keywords.

How to identify Adwords negative keywords

The simplest way is to look at your actual keywords that you get the clicks for within Adwords. In order to do that, go to your campaign’s keywords tab and click “See search terms” – “All”. This way you will see the actual keywords t hat you acquire clicks for.

Furthermore, I would recommend excluding information type of keywords like:

jpeg (and other formats)
video
info
definition
free

Implementing Adwords negative keyword match type will save you money and get your QS higher. Make sure that you are consistently monitoring your campaigns and have your Google Analytics installed to record Adwords traffic.

There are many plugins that setup WordPress to talk to Facebook, however it gets complicated when posting to groups or fan pages. In order to get that done I had to use Facebook app called NetworkedBlogs. Check out my page there and if you are interested setting this up for yourself, go to Syndication part of my page.

I hope this will help you with this setup.

As for everything else, Google rankings is still a game of mainly backlinks and some onsite optimization. So make sure to get good quality links.

Hi everyone,

I just got back to Brisbane from North Queensland and have been lucky to escape the flooded region by air even though I had to leave my car behind. There are a lot of people however who have nowhere to go and are still preparing for the worst with the Fitzroy river rising in Rockhampton and expecting to peak on Wednesday. All the roads are closed and there is really nowhere to go.

People are stuck in a closed region with no supplies and it looks like the flood is going to stay for at least 10 days. With the water still rising it looks like the sewage system is going to leak into the river making it even worse. Not mentioning the clean water supply being cut off also.

Usually after a flood like that all the furniture has to be thrown out, appliances damages, lots of repairs carried out to help people regain comfortable living. You can only imagine what can happen, I have been able to witness all and can tell you that the situation is life threatening. You hear about floods in North Queensland every year, but not like this one.

While using Australian business directories is good way of getting business, it is hard to track exactly where the leads are coming from and it can often be expensive.

Ask yourself, “When you search for a service online, do you go to business directories or type your query directly into Google?”. Most people use Google. This is why it is the biggest source of new clients for businesses.

With any online advertising, its recommended that you can start with something that you can easily measure in terms of your spend and results. This is why I would recommend starting with Google Adwords, which is pay per click type of advertising where you pay only for what you spend.

If setup properly, Google Adwords gets you on the front page of Google within minutes and exposes your business to a wide audience of people who are searching by your nominated keywords.  This makes Google Adwords fastest and easiest way to advertise online.

Adwords can be tough to setup for some, others just don’t have the time for it, this is why I offer my Professional Google Adwords services to you. With any business directory in Australia like TrueLocal, StartLocal, HotFrog or Yellow Pages if is possible to get a much better volume of traffic that they offer, however it requires optimizing your listing according to your keywords. This way your business directory listing will also come up in Google. If you are interested in this, ask me how.

While Yellow Pages are still good for some businesses, for the majority they offer very few leads as presently most people now searching Google directly for the services they are after.  Aren’t you?

I do web design and internet Marketing and recently I created a business website and once I optimized it for Google I got a call from Yellow Pages offering me a listing with them. I thought that the fact that there were 30 searches for my business niche in my area wasn’t worth $300 per month. And the fact that there was no tracking of what was happening made me even more skeptical. I am used to using systems that allow me to track exactly what is happening and to see what I get for every dollar I spend online. You see, the way I currently advertise is via Google Adwords, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media and Facebook Social ads and all the leads go  to my website and I can see what the performance of those leads is through my Google Analytics which tracks all that is happening on my website.

I have nothing personal against Yellow Pages, its just that I think the marketing budget should be measurable. The only thing I really don’t like about them is their overseas call centers calling me at the time when I would like to have dinner.

I suggest starting with Google Adwords and target your local area for the keywords that relate directly to your business. For those who tried Google Adwords know that  it can be very frustrating and takes couple of goes to get it right. If you are stuck, let me know and I will do my best to help you. Just make sure that you have Google Analytics installed to be able to track every click that occurs.

Once you run your Adwords, you can then get the same campaign through Facebook Social ads, which allows you to setup a pay per click campaign as well. Once again, if you get stuck ask someone who knows what they are doing.

Finally once you see, which keywords convert for you, I would suggest to go ahead with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for your top performing keywords. SEO can be a complex process, however getting it done and placing your website on the front page of Google will triple and even quadruple the amount of traffic you are getting through Adwords.

Furthermore, I would recommend using directories like StartLocal, TrueLocal and HotFrog as they have done their homework and optimized their business listings to rank in Google’s results. This way, not only you are listed in their directory but you are also getting leads from Google. Its really surprising that they still have not done that.
