Windows8 Internet Explorer New Features

Microsoft rocks after releasing new Windows8 with their own apps. Windows 8 release Preview has many applications in built and those are great. Here is a some screenshots of Internet Explorer which is in built. You can find it from Start menu.

New Features

1. In this screenshot you can see that address bar is given below. Some more buttons are there also like Reload, Pin it, settings and forward and Back too. When you press Enter and page loads than given bar disappears and you can enjoy totally full web page without title bar or footer bar.

2. This below screenshots tells about tabs system. In this Microsoft has make tabs system superb. Though it's made for tablet PC's so that switch between tabs like shown in below image. Black bar appears when you right click on page anywhere. It goes off again when you select tab of your choice and allows you to surf full screen web surfing.

3. When you are surfing and want to copy something to web page and press Ctrl+V it warns you that Do you want to allow IE to use your clip board. You think that what is this for? but it is useful in security issues. When bots or some scripts try to copy something it may not able do this. By this you or your data will be stay secure ( In some Cases).

4. Back button position and look also changed from below menu bar (In old IE's) to in the middle of left side of window (See below Image).

It's a tutorial about how you can move your uncompleted torrent job into another computer. Or you may need to format system and reinstall it but don't want to lost some downloaded data. Then here is a trick for you. Note that this trick is for Vuze users, future articles will be for bittorrent or uTorrent users.

Pre-conditions: Azureus (Vuze) will resume BitTorrent partials however they started, as long as:

the downloaded data ("partials") are present on your hard disk drive (HDD) and
you have the original .torrent file.

Process:

Make sure you have the exact .torrent file of what you were downloading.
Make sure you know the exact location of the partials on your HDD.
Open the .torrent in Azureus (Vuze) via (this is very important) File ->> Open ->> .Torrent File (No Default Save)
When asked where to save the file, point it to your partials. (See below image.)
If the file has already been completely downloaded, you can change the "Add mode" to "Seeding", so that Azureus knows that you think that the file should be complete.
Wait. It will take a few minutes to check the data.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Azureus (Vuze) will tell you if a file with the same name already exists and will ask for your permission to check the file content's correctness. If the data in the already existing file is wrong, then it will get overwritten. So, if you try to use a different .torrent file, it is possible that you would erase the partial data you had downloaded.

Break Windows Xp / 7 Administrator Password Using Bootable USB Drive

Did you lose your windows password? Are you looking for solution for this? This tutorial will teach you how to reset or break windows7 Administrator password.

Follow the steps to Recover or Break Windows7 Administrator Password

1. Download chntpw tool

To Create Recovery USB Disk you need to download chntpw tool. Get it from here. http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/usb110511.zip

2. Create your USB Windows Password Recovery Disk Bootable.

To create USB extract above downloaded file in your USB root directory
Don't forget to backup your USB data elsewhere before extracting and using it.
Now run Command Prompt (cmd.exe) as administrator.
Locate your USB disk drive.
Now run command exact like here. J:\syslinux.exe -ma J: (here J: is drive letter of my USB drive, replace it as your drive letter).

3. Boot USB into Locked Computer.

Now your USB is ready to use. Plugin into locked computer and restart.
At boot screen immediately press boot menu key. (For me it's F9) OR another way is to set USB as first boot in BIOS Settings.

4. Reset/Break Win7 Administrator Password.

After booting from USB you see that chntpw tool is started. At the first screen it shows you Copy right information, Driver info. and many things. Don't press any key,just leave it.
On successfully booting it automatically detects your Hard drive partitions and prints a list of your partiotions.
Now find partition in which you have installed win7. For ease it also prints BOOT beside of that partition. (Use it if you are confused :) )
Press a number key which is associated with your bootable win partition and press ENTER.
After few seconds, next screen asks you for enter registry path, but don't do anything just press enter.
In the next menu select 1 for Password Reset [ SAM System Security].
Next screen will shows you three options, First will "Edit User Data and Passwords.", to select this press 1 and then Enter.
In this Menu again there will be 3-4 options, but you have to select 1st. It will "Clear (Blank) Password."
Now if successful then it says "Password Cleared".
Then press ! and ENTER to quit.
At next it asks to write SAM, press y and enter.
Now again hit q to quit.
Reboot your Computer. Whoa !!! Password removed.

I have tried it on my Windows7 and it's working, but not tried on XP. If you have XP on your machine then try it and post result in comments. ( I am sure it will work.)

Enable Telnet in Windows7

Very few people are uses telnet client. When i want to use then i tried to open telnet in windows7 by typing 'telnet' in run but i got the error. It doesn't mean that it's not in windows7.

I searched and got that it was not installed by default in windows7 and windows vista. So to enable just follow simple steps to enable it.

1. Goto Control Panel.
2. Click on Programs and Features.

3. In the left pane Click on Turn Windows features on or off.

4. It will pop up new window. Here scroll down and select Telnet Client and Telnet Server press OK.

Browse others PC without their Permission on LAN

Generally when we sit on computer network where two or more PCs are connected in LAN, like in office,college. We try to see others files and steal their data with the use of LAN. But often we fails. Even i also tries to steal others data. So i can guess that what's running on your mind. That's why i'm presenting here a hack with this you can browse their harddisk without permission on LAN.

To do this simply follow steps.
(Tested in Windows7)

1. Goto My Computer in the left pane click on Networks. You can see the names of PCs which are connected in LAN. (see image).
2. Click on any computer which you want to browse.

3. Here "SharedFolder" in image is only one shared folder on that computer. You can see that there is no other folder shared.

4.Now in address bar type "\\<that PC'sname>\d$\" ( here <that PC's name> = Pc's name you've clicked above. Without quotes. ). Here 'd$' stands for D drive, for C drive type C$, similarly E$,F$,... You can open all drives as above. Others don't need to share.

Remove File Assicoation with any Extension

File Association is the utility in windows that keep records that which file extension is ssociated with which program.

You can check file association in Windows7 by going Control Panel > Default Programs and click on 'Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program'.

In windows7 you can check and change file association but can not remove it from control panel, but here is another way to remove it by going in command prompt.

1. Open Command Prompt (Run > cmd )

2. type 'assoc .rar' (without quotes) this will shows associated program.

3. type 'assoc .rar=' which removes association. To associate again go through and associate.

Note : In WindowsXP you can do it simply without cmd. Open Control Panel, select folder option. In a new window click on 'File Types' tab.

Enable/Disable UAC in Windows7 using Command Prompt

Disabling the UAC can be done by a variety of methods, but the most simple is to use Command Line. This can be done as below figure.

After running disable UAC you will get notification like below image, it assures that your UAC is disabled.

How to Hide File Behind Images - Steganography

Now you can hide your private files behind images and stay secure from your friends or childrens. This is just a tweak using Command Prompt in Windows7, Vista or XP. Just follow the steps and see images.

1. First Create New Folder. In this folder copy one image (.JPG prefered) behind which you want to hide files.
2. Now compress remaining files which you want to hide into .RAR format. Now your folder looks like below.

3. Goto Run > Cmd. Type below command.

copy /b main.jpg + new.rar main2.jpg

(main.jpg = your image)

(new.rar = your compressed files)

4. In New folder you will see new file main2.jpg. Now open this file in winrar by right clicking and selecting open with > winrar. (Compare the size of main.jpg and main2.jpg, you will understand.)

See main2.rar remains as it is. When hiding behind image.

How to Extend laptop's Wireless Antenna Range

I’ve been using a wireless Ethernet card in my laptop. But now the change from wired networking to wireless was an amazing shift. Now I could wander around my office or my home and connect to the Web. However, in many situations, I found that the range of the built-in antenna in the PC card was limited, and I desired additional range.

In this tweak I will show you two different and inexpensive ways to increase your laptops wireless LAN card antennas range. In this method we use old coffee can to make our new antenna. With this method we can send and receive data in one direction upto 16 times more powerful than built in antenna in your wireless card. And in another method we will use satellite dish TV antenna. It is highly directional and can send and receive data upto 10 kilometers to another disk in ideal conditions. Here below is Hack 1 - Increase wireless using coffee can.

In this hack you can use 802.11 network card of any brand. You will need 'pigtail' connector to connect wireless card on one hand and 'N' connector on another hand.

You will Need:

A metal can : 3 - 3.5 inches diameter and 4 inches long (Metal soup can works well)
4-40 type screw and nuts : Quantity 4
12 Gauge copper wire : 4 inches
N style RF connector
A pigtail connector that has the proprietary Lucent connector on one end and an N connector on the other
Low loss coaxial cable : 30 - 60 feet

Drill holes as above

Soldering Iron

Process:

1. Take any can that has 3-3.5 inches diameter and equal to or longer than 4 inches and make sure that it's dry and clean and it's open end is free from ragged metal edges.

2. Now drill a hole from approx. 2.5 inches from closed end of the can for N connector.

3. Now take an N connector and add a short piece of 12 gauge wire such that wire sticks up 1.25 inches from can walls.Now mount the N connector in the can where you have drilled a hole.

4. Now open your wireless card and remove cap and connect that pigtail or don't want this pigtail step than open your card and solder a wire to the antenna inside.

5. Now connect soldered wire which is connected to antenna and 12 gauge wire which is connected with N connector. Now you have your wireless card connected with metal can. This metal can works as powerful antenna.

Location of N connector

Now start your laptop and aim open end of the can towards wireless access point or wireless enabled computer. Now note down signal strength and then remove antenna now again measure signal strength. You may see difference because when we attach antenna signal is polarizes in one direction.

WARNING:

Never look into the open end of your antenna when it is operating. Your antenna focuses the signal to levels that could be harmful.

How to Create Your Own Portable App for USB Drives

There are many sites available on the internet which provides portable apps. But what to do when you can not find a particular app that you want portable version. So here with this easy trick you can create your own portable app for USB Drives.

Here in my example i'm going to create portable app of Dropbox a cloud service desktop application. You can try your own file but for first time this is recommended before you try on other application.

Download Universal Extractor and WinRAR

For this you need two software one is Universal Extractor and another one is WinRAR. Install both this programs.

Extract any file using Universal Extractor
Open Uni.Extractor and select a .EXE file you want to create portable. And press OK.

Find your Programs main EXE
Here you have to find a main EXE file in extracted which runs program. Probably it's name will be same as your programs name. Here in my example it's Dropbox.exe and which is in \$INSTDIR\Dropbox.exe

Create SFX archive
Select all files in that folder and Right Click on it then select Winrar > Add to archive...

When new dialogue box appears Check 'Create SFX Archive' option and in compression method select 'Best'.

Then click on 'Advanced' tab and Click on 'SFX Option'. When new pop-up appears under 'Run After Extraction' box enter your main exe's name. For me it's Dropbox.exe.

Now switch to Mode Tab and check 'Unpack to temporary Folder'. And in Silent mode you can choose anything it affects when you are extracting your portable app. 'Display all' displays all progress, if you choose 'hide all' it works in silent mode none box will appear in screen, it will work in background. I've choosen Display all option.

In the last click on Update tab and under 'over write mode' select 'Overwrite all files'. Then hit OK twice.

You have done, you can see that one exe file will be there. It's your portable app, just copy it to your USB Drive and go any where. Enjoy your own Portable app.
