You are stranded on a mysterious island with four temples: the Temple of Addition, the Temple of Subtraction, the Temple of Multiplication, and the Temple of Division. Each temple has a lever that you can pull. When you pull a lever, the number displayed on the temple's door changes according to the following rules:

Temple of Addition: The number increases by the number shown on the door of the next temple in clockwise order.

Temple of Subtraction: The number decreases by the number shown on the door of the next temple in clockwise order.

Temple of Multiplication: The number is multiplied by the number shown on the door of the next temple in clockwise order.

Temple of Division: The number is divided by the number shown on the door of the next temple in clockwise order (rounded down to the nearest whole number).

The doors of the temples currently show the following numbers:

Temple of Addition: 3

Temple of Subtraction: 7

Temple of Multiplication: 5

Temple of Division: 4

Your goal is to get all four temples to show the same number. You can pull any lever as many times as you want in any order.

Can you find a way to solve the puzzle?

Solution:

Here's one way to solve the puzzle:

Pull the lever in the Temple of Division twice. This will change the number on its door to 4 / 2 = 2.

Pull the lever in the Temple of Subtraction. This will change the number on its door to 7 - 2 = 5.

Pull the lever in the Temple of Multiplication. This will change the number on its door to 5 * 5 = 25.

Pull the lever in the Temple of Addition three times. This will change the number on its door to 3 + 25 + 25 + 25 = 78.

Pull the lever in the Temple of Subtraction twice. This will change the number on its door to 78 - 5 = 73.

Pull the lever in the Temple of Multiplication. This will change the number on its door to 73 * 4 = 292.

Pull the lever in the Temple of Addition twice. This will change the number on its door to 292 + 292 = 584.

Pull the lever in the Temple of Division. This will change the number on its door to 584 / 2 = 292.

Now, all four temples show the same number: 292!

In 1852 while colouring the map of England Francis Guthrie noticed that only 4 colours were required to colour map so that no adjacent countries have same colour. He then asked this problem from his brother who was student at university of college ,London .Even his brother didn't know the answer so he presented this problem to his mathematics teacher De Morgan ;still no answer .....
thus resulted in the most debated question of the 19th century.

But 4 colour is enough to colour any map.???

It took 150 yrs to solve this problem.
In 1976,this problem is solved by Hacken & Appel using a computer.
