DOROTHY MARUEL IBAÑEZ is a 23-year old self-employed nurse entrepreneur who graduated from Ateneo de Davao University. Growing up along a brother with down syndrome, Dotty developed an attachment to children with special needs and believes that these children share the same right to acceptance, understanding and quality education with any other Dabawenyo children. "Kung ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan, ang mga batang may kapansan ang inspirasyon ng ating lipunan," Dotty says.

1) SAMAL ISLAND. If you are looking for SUN, SEA and ADVENTURE you should enlist any of the Samal Island beach resort.The island is only 40-45 minutes away from the heart of Davao City. A Deep-blue or Swallow-green water will surely promise fun activities like diving, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, banana or jet riding and island hopping. From the most expensive like Pearl Farm to the most reasonable and comfortable like Paradise Island, you have the chance of saying IT’S REALLY FUN IN DAVAO!

Witness & experience a sizzling summer at Maxima Aqua Fun on May 21,2011. Register on the the funswim event for only 400 pesos. Inclusive of an event t-shirt, packed lunch and resort entrance.

You can also get the hot chance of witnessing the whole day event which will showcase a fun swimming in the morning, bikini pageant in the afternoon, & party all night with the Tribu K'Mindanawan Firedancers.

Maxima Aqua Fun management is conducting this event for the first time aiming to promote awareness on the protection of the marine ecosystem through education & eco-tourism. This also wants to foster camaraderie, sportsmanship, healthy competitiveness, & self-discipline among its participants.

The activity has two parts - a the fun swim in the morning, and bikini open in the afternoon. This event is a mix of adventure, fun, and entertainment all in one day

Six years ago before finally staying in Davao, I have asked myself about the five most rewarding things I should experience in Davao. Now I'm listing them to help you enjoy your travel in this wonderful city. If you are that adventurous, try to create your own list. I'm sure it's an experience worth remembering.

1.Getting Exotic - Trying the King of Philippine Fruits : Durian

Your travel in Davao is never complete without smelling your shoes- the smell of durian. It smells like hell but tastes like heaven. Durian is just one of the many fruits that are abundant in the city. Mangosteen, Lanzones, Marang and Pomelo are just so irresistible like any other fruits in the City. Pick some fresh durian now and pair it with a can of cola. Make sure to limit your serving :-)

2. Experiencing the Perfect Beaches of Samal

A place like no other. Samal is another place you should see whenever you visit Davao. It showcases it's promising pink sand beaches, blue-green seawater and most of all affordable fun and adventure.
