Angry Birds integrated into Facebook

Angry Birds has been launched on Facebook a day earlier than previously announced.

“This launch is just the beginning for Angry Birds on Facebook,” said Petri Järvilehto, SVP of Game Publishing at Rovio. “We have great new features and gameplay lined up for the fans in the upcoming weeks. Angry Birds on Facebook will offer a unique experience for our fans, and we’re really excited to finally be on the platform.”

This game comes with a new feature of "Power-ups". There are four different types of power-ups to add thrill into the game.

"There are four different types of power-ups and they can be accessed via the lightning bolt button at the top of the screen," the company said. "You can use two power-ups per level. All power-ups have a different effect but ultimately make you more competitive against your friends by making your birds stronger or more accurate or even by shaking the earth itself!"

Moreover, Adobe Systems' Flash Player 11 with support for 3D graphics has been used for Angry Birds on Facebook.

Different new flights and "Go Pack" package by JetBlue Airways

JetBlue Airways has doubled the flights between Tampa International Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airport along with the announcement of new service from Washington's Reagan to Tampa.

"By seizing the opportunity to invest in the rare slot pairs made available in our hometown of New York City and in our nation's capital, JetBlue is comfortably poised for organic growth," said JetBlue's Vice President of Network Planning and Partnerships, Scott Laurence. There is an announcement of Jet Service from Boston to Nantucket from May 17 to September 4.

JetBlue has announced "Go Pack" packages for flight between Long Beach Airport (LGB) and San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK) or Sacramento (SMF) International Airports.

"Whether customers are traveling between Long Beach and Northern California for work or leisure, Go Pack offers greater convenience and value for their travel needs," said Director of Revenue Management Roger Johnson. Google -Motorola deal has been cleared by U.S. and European regulators

U.S. Department of Justice has cleared the investigations on Google's acquisition of Motorola in $12.5 billion. Moreover, European Commission has given approval to the deal.

Joaquín Almunia, Commission Vice President in charge of competition policy, said,

"We have approved the acquisition of Motorola Mobility by Google because, upon careful examination, this transaction does not itself raise competition issues. Of course, the Commission will continue to keep a close eye on the behaviour of all market players in the sector, particularly the increasingly strategic use of patents".

The deal will "enhance competition and offer consumers faster innovation, greater choice and wonderful user experiences," Don Harrison, Google's deputy general counsel, wrote in a blog post.

Now Google has to get approval from China, Taiwan and Israel in order to get full control of Motorola Mobility.

Large Hadron Collider is entering world of higher energy level

Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in CERN's European Physics Laboratory will get increased levels of energy to do work. Its beam energy will be increased by 0.5 TeV this year and becomes 4 TeV (trillion electron-volt). After the completion of these experiments, LHC will work on 7 TeV after 20 months of gap.

Researchers and Experts have made this decision in order to get information for new particles. Research director of CERN, Sergio Bertolucci, said that we will reach a point where we will say that we have discovered the reality of Higgs boson i.e. God particle.

By the time the LHC goes into its first long stop at the end of this year, we will either know that a Higgs particle exists or have ruled out the existence of a Standard Model Higgs. Either would be a major advance in our exploration of nature, bringing us closer to understanding how the fundamental particles acquire their mass, and marking the beginning of a new chapter in particle physics.

Google has announced $50,000 scholarship for the winner of "Google Science Fair". This fair has been introduced by Google in co-ordination with CERN, Lego, National Geographic and Scientific American to get some new research ideas.

Prizes of the competition have a different range from work experiences in top class science centers such as CERN in Switzerland and National Geographic experiences.

Vodafone and C&W would finalize a deal by March 20

Vodafone has announced to make a bid for Cable & Wireless Worldwide (CWW), which is the telecom and broadband networking company providing services to corporate customers.

"Vodafone regularly reviews opportunities in the sector and confirms that it is in the very early stages of evaluating the merits of a potential offer for CWW," the company said in a statement. "There is no certainty that an offer will be made nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made. Any offer, if made, will be in cash but Vodafone reserves the right to change the specie of consideration."

Vodafone would offer 700 million pounds to the Cable & Wireless (C&W). However, the company's firm intentions will be announced by March 12.

A new YouTube updated app has been released by Google that may be downloaded freely from Android Market on Google TV 2.0 boxes.

Radiation may not help to prolong life of lung cancer patients

Researchers have found that the radiation therapy after surgery of lung cancer may not help in prolonging the life of patients of lung cancer.

Researchers have worked on more than 1300 older cancer patients of lung in which 710 patients received radiation therapy. They have found that the radiation is less likely to increase the life of patients.

According to researchers, the physicians must not always use radiation to stop recurrence of lung cancer.

Greece has passed austerity deal affecting oil prices

Greece austerity deal approval has come with a surge in oil prices in Asia. That surge is above $99 on Monday.

Greece has passed that deal in order to get security of bailout and protection from bankruptcy as Greece has to meet 14.5 billion euros of debt repayments before March 20.

Brent crude increased by 85 cents and went to $117.60/barrel in on the ICE Futures Exchange in London. Benchmark crude also went up by 58 cents and went at $99.25/barrel at midmorning Singapore time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

“The problem is that gasoline prices have recently jumped and this appears to have more than offset the positive developments,” Capital Economics said in a report.

“To be bullish from here, one would need to believe a supply disruption is coming,” Morgan Stanley said in a report. “With fundamentals weakening, we believe that any further upside is unlikely without a supply shock.”

Apple has sued Samsung in federal court in California about four different patent violations in which Apple has reported that Searching through voice command and unlocking the phone through sliding the image are included.

Apple has reported these violations for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (smartphone) that is the first phone using Google's latest version of Android i.e. Ice Cream Sandwich. The company has said that these features are expected by the people in Apple's products.

"Google cannot deny its undivided responsibility for any infringement findings. A preliminary injunction would not prohibit the sale of a Galaxy nexus just because it's called Galaxy Nexus or looks like one: it's all about which patents it infringes on," said independent patent expert Florian Meuller.

"I am absolutely certain that...for the preliminary injunction motion the Galaxy Nexus was singled out because it's so new, and important."

"We continue to assert our intellectual property rights and defend against Apple's claims to ensure our continued innovation and growth in the mobile communications business," Samsung said in a statement.

Researchers have pictured with the help of Jay GaBany's 0.5 m telescope at Black Bird Observatory and Saturn Lodge 0.7m telescope on the grounds of the Polaris Observatory Association first image of the two dwarf galaxies in which one dwarf galaxy, NGC 4449, is thought to engulf the other even smaller dwarf galaxy.

Alzheimer's disease and Anticancer drug

Researchers from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio have published their findings in the journal Science.

Researchers have found that the destructive protein plaques caused by beta-amyloid in the brain of mice model have successfully been removed after using the drug, bexarotene, which is used for the treatment of skin cancer.

Researchers thought to increase the amount of ApoE. They used bexarotene, which is used for the treatment of skin cancer, on mice with similar conditions as that of Alzheimer’s disease. They found that the levels of beta-amyloid in the brain were “rapidly lowered” within six hours after using one dose and a 25% reduction was sustained for 70 hours. They further found that in older mice the number of plaques reduced by 50% after seven days of treatment.

Researchers have found that after treatment the brain functioning improved such as nest building, remembering electrical shocks and maze performance.

However, according to researchers, this study needs further investigation.

Plastic surgery's demand has increased in U.S.

13.8 million people have underwent plastic surgeries in the year of 2011. This amount is 5% from the year 2010.

This increase in the number of plastic surgeries have been reported by American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced on Friday, February 10, that the German automaker, BMW, has to pay $3 million in fine as the company has not told about the safety defects earlier than expected and in its full form.

“It’s critical to the safety of the driving public that defects and recalls are reported in short order,” said NHTSA Administrator David Strickland. “NHTSA expects all manufacturers to address automotive safety issues quickly and in a forthright manner.”

NHTSA said, "As part of today's settlement, BMW of North America, LLC and its parent company Bayerische Motoren Werke AG agreed to make internal changes to its recall decision-making process to ensure timely reporting to consumers and the federal government in the future."

Researchers have published online in the American Journal of Transplantation blacks have 59% less rates of kidney transplantation in the southeastern center.

Researchers worked on 2291 patients at Emory transplant center as well as those from the United States Renal Data System and the United Network for Organ Sharing, from 2005 to 2007 followed through May 2010, and found “racial disparities” in access to transplant evaluation, referral, wait-listing and eventual transplant. “Of 2291 patients, 64.9% were black, the mean age was 49.4 years and 33.6% lived in poor neighborhoods.” Among them 57.3% were male and 16.1% were without any health insurance coverage.

Researchers have found that black patients constitute about 56% of the waiting list but only 44% of those got eventual transplantation. They have found the biggest inequalities in the time between diagnosis and referral, i.e. 283 days for blacks and 84 days for whites, and time spent on the waiting list, i.e. 727 days for blacks versus 374 days for whites. However, according to researchers at the national level blacks get equivalent rate of transplantation as whites.

Mitsubishi is introducing the world's fastest elevator in the tallest tower of China i.e. Shanghai Tower, which is designed by U.S. architectural firm Gensler.

Rare brain disorder in Marin County

Two new cases of rare brain disorder have been reported in Marin County. One of the patients in that cases has been died.

According to Marin County Health Department that death was not the result of mad cow disease. Moreover, they have reported that the chances of getting infection are very rare and so there is no public threat.

"We have no evidence that suggests a causal linkage between the suspect cases nor is there any evidence to suggest a risk in food supply," the state public health department said in a statement.

Mad cow disease is also known as bovine spongiform encephalitis and is one of the rare disorders or diseases.

Researchers have published in The New England Journal of Medicine that memory of the epileptic patients improved after slight electrical shock.

Researchers focused on the entorhinal cortex - part of the brain helpful in the formation and storage of memories - and hippocampus that is the brain's chief memory center.

"When we stimulated the hippocampus itself, there was not an effect. It was really stimulation in the gateway to the hippocampus - the entorhinal cortex - where we got the beneficial effect in terms of memory," Dr. Itzhak Fried, professor of neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, who worked on the study, said.

According to researchers, this can be of help for the patients of Alzheimer's disease.
