YVP Updates

We haven't been around the photo world much recently. We had our little girl back in October and spent a while adjusting to her. She continues to be a terrible sleeper so we are walking zombies at home, but we have had a nice break regrouping and figuring out our future plans. We're happy to let you know that we are back, and more motivated than ever.

First off, go check out our website. Like, right now. Or right after you read this post. It has been given a major face lift, including new pages, updated galleries - the works. We are very pleased with it and hope that you enjoy it, too. If you find something that's not working right, please let us know so we can fix it.

If you check our pricing page you'll notice that things have changed a little bit. We are now offering 2 types of packages - a Standard and a Premium package. There are subtle differences but we feel it was a necessary change. You'll also notice that it's a standard price, no matter what the shoot (excluding weddings). So whether it's engagements, child, senior or family portraits, the price is the same for you.

Another thing you'll notice is that each shoot now includes a print credit. We have included a link to our Print Pricing page so you get an idea of what you can get with your credit (and you can get more, obviously). So after you get your images back you can decide on which ones you would like printed and what sizes, etc. and we'll get the order placed.

The Standard package includes a CD/DVD with images that are resized and formatted for online viewing, perfect for blogs, Facebook, and emailing to friends and family. This is what a lot of people do with their pictures and we feel that this package is a great way to accomplish it. Because the images are resized, they won't be great for making large prints by yourself. That is why we have included a $40 print credit with the package, or you can take advantage of the Premium package instead.

The Premium package includes a CD with high-resolution images, great for making prints for your home or office. This package also comes with a $40 print credit. Any additional prints are up to you. We, of course, would love for you to make further prints using us because of the quality we offer through our printing lab, but you are more than welcome to make prints anywhere you would like.

You'll also notice that the pricing has changed overall for our services. We didn't do this to make ourselves more lucrative or anything like that. The reason we changed the price is to accommodate the costs that come along with a photography business. Not only do we have our equipment that we use (and insure), but there are also storage costs for the photos, travel expenses, website maintenance, and many other aspects that go into a photography business. To make it simple and easy, we are offering the same price for every portrait shoot instead of having various pricing models. We feel that this adds to the overall quality of what we have to offer and we hope this makes things easier for everyone.

We have really put some work into our business and are looking forward to this year. We hope that we can be a part of your lives and help capture some great memories along the way. Be sure to check back often because we will be having some super deals and even a contest! You will not want to miss out on what we're offering.
