I've been receiving challenges from a number of people and we're in the process of working out schedules. With a little luck I'll post the first new episode next week. But, for now, I'd like to post an email conversation I had with Dylan Todd. If anyone wants to debate me on WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER then throw down the gauntlet or slap me across the face with the glove or slap me across the face with the gauntlet a la ROBIN HOOD MEN IN TIGHTS, another fantastic movie.

Dylan: Wet Hot American Summer.

Dylan: This is a terrible movie that apparently everybody on Tumblr thinks is the funniest ish ever. Please tell me you hate it/plan on savaging it.

Jason: You are wrong. It happens.

Dylan: Oh man.

Dylan: That movie is The Doors of comedies.

Jason: My wife wants to join in on a potential WHAS battle. The whole world does.

Dylan: It is the Radiohead of comedies. It's okay, but sooooo overrated.

Jason: But overrated still means it's watchable. See, I literally think DRIVE is completely unwatchable. I think people who "like it" just don't want to seem dumb. Big diff.

Dylan: You have a point. It's not horrible. I just think everybody in that film has done better stuff elsewhere.

Dylan: Therefore

Dylan: I AM WRONG.

Jason: But there's also the backstory to weigh and the careers it helped launch. And it was big for the alt-comedy movement.

Jason: If we did this over Skype it would be an episode. Maybe I'll post it as a conversation.

Dylan Todd says: I’d be willing to defend Jared Hess’ humongous flop, Gentlemen Broncos. Also, I think Mad Men is a laughably dumb show.

Jason Rodriguez replies: I couldn’t get into Mad Men, but I can’t say that I dislike it, yet. But I will go a round over Gentlemen Broncos…adding it to my Netflix queue now.

I've already been challenged to a debate on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Drive, Inception, Mountain Dew, and X-Men: First Class by people who are wrong.

You’re All Wrong: Episode 0

And here it is, the inaugural episode of “You’re All Wrong,” my first venture into podcasting. This is just Episode 0, announcing my intention to make a lot of people angry. I will be doing future episodes but first I need guests. And this is a call for guests.

I got the idea for this podcast after my little guest stint on Television Zombies, where I was asked to come on the show and defend Alcatraz. I did my job but, in doing so, realized that I like a lot of things that a lot of people seem to dislike and dislike a lot of things that a lot of people seem to like. “You’re All Wrong” will be a short podcast where I debate the merits of something with someone who believes I’m crazy and that the masses are 100% correct. So what are possible candidates for the somethings? If the show keeps going I’ll drop new lists every so often, but here’s the first list:

Things I like that a lot of people seem to dislike: Speed Racer the movie, Terra Nova, TGI Fridays, Red Lobster, Event Horizon, Lionel Richie, New Kids on the Block, 808s and Heartbreaks, A Night at the Roxbury, Drake, Radio Shack, Armond White, and American Horror Story.

Things that I dislike that a lot of people seem to like: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, piracy, all British Television shows except for Monty Python, True Blood, Drive, X-Men: First Class, 2-Pac, The Doors, Christopher Hitchens, Twilight, 100 Bullets, Louie, Sage Francis, Inception, Bridesmaids, Funny People, Lady Gaga, the Yankees, and Mountain Dew.

Also! If there’s something you love (or hate) that a lot of people hate (or love), let me know and maybe we can do a show on that. I’m speaking specifically to my friend Chris, who loves Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Strikes Again despite the fact that he is completely wrong. I really hope he accepts this public throwing-down of the gauntlet. It is time he commits his opinion to the permanent record.

If anything I just mentioned just made your blood boil then you can be my guest on a show!

And who can be a guest? Anyone!…provided you meet the following criteria:

1) You have an argument for or against the topic being discussed. Your reason for liking or disliking something can’t just be, “Because,”

2) You have Skype,

3) You can spare 10-20 minutes to talk about the subject,

4) You can talk,

5) And bonus points for being a debate champion, owning a decent microphone, or being involved in some way with the thing being discussed!
