            <title>20 per cent of children who self-harm 'will do it again'</title>

Irish medical researchers have found one in five children who deliberately harm themselves do so again despite medical intervention, and 10 per cent of them do so repeatedly. The study stresses parents who express concern about children self-harming are often right and need to be listened to.

Aboriginal leader Tom Calma&nbsp;has told&nbsp;The&nbsp;Age newspaper&nbsp;that governments should consider diverting a proportion of their prison budgets to address the causes of crime in indigenous communities.

Mr Calma, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, said the American idea of &quot;justice reinvestment&quot; could be a solution to the over-representation of indigenous people in Australian jails.
