Teacher Tool Box

2017-08-27T08:28:00.000-07:00

My little man has a male teacher this year and teacher gifts can be a bit more challenging. I came up with this tool box idea! His teacher loved it! I bought the tool box off of Amazon for $5 and collected back to school goodies over the summer! I spent around $15 all together.

Sight Word Target Practice

2015-04-01T17:34:00.002-07:00

Sight Word Target Practice

The school year is quickly coming to a close. Here is a fun and simple way to continue working on Pre-K and Kindergarten Sight words over the summer.

Directions: Cut out and laminate sight word targets. There are three pages total. Tape them to a flat surface or place them on the floor. Have your child use a Nerf gun (water gun, bean bag, etc…) to hit targets. From a designated starting spot have your child aim for one of the sight words. When they hit a sight word make sure they say that word aloud or repeat it after you if they are just learning. Most important have fun!

Leprechaun Trap

2015-03-14T09:34:00.003-07:00

Every year my little man makes a leprechaun trap in hopes of gold. This year he used a Halloween cauldron as his pot, green paper, green CraZsand and a few gold coins from the dollar store. We cut the green paper to fit the size of the cauldron with a slit in the middle. Then we placed a cup of sand in the cauldron and covered it up in hopes that the leprechaun will become stuck in the sand.

Here is the final product. Hopefully we catch a leprechaun this year we are in need of some gold.

Have a great St. Patrick's Day

Happy Helper

2014-07-02T13:20:00.002-07:00

At the preschool I work at the students take turns being the teacher's Happy Helper for the day. On their special helper day the students get to sit in the front of class with the teacher and help with daily activities. In the past the students sat in a regular boring school chair but I thought we could do better. So for my summer project I decided to find some old children's chairs and fix them up. I think they turned out cute, I hope all the kids love them.

Teacher Appreciation Time

2014-05-05T16:26:00.002-07:00

I love this time of year! Time to appreciate all the hard work and time teachers give our kids! This year my son's school had a theme, Teacher's are Superhero! We drew a comic book strip for his teacher and then added an apple iTunes gift card.

I was also in charge of creating a door decoration.

I'm no Creeper!

2014-01-09T15:52:00.000-08:00

I love Valentines day. I love it so much that I already have my son's valentines ready for his class.
His big thing this year is Minecraft so of course Minecraft Valentines were a must. He even helped design the cards himself!!! I purchased the green bags at Walmart. They were 99 cents for three bags. Then I cut out the creeper face with vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo and stuck it to the bag. Next, we filled the bag with goodies.

Click on the links below for free downloads. There are three valentines to each page. Just print onto card stock, cut them out and have your child sign their name to the card. I hope they enjoy them. Have a great Valentines Day!

Reindeer Grub

2013-12-22T14:58:00.001-08:00

Making a snack for Santa's reindeer is one of our favorite family traditions. This year I decided to take our tradition to my son's school. Usually we just throw the ingredients together from the packages but since I was including his class I wanted to make it look extra cute.

I first found these adorable reindeer food printables at www.partyondesigns.com

I love vintage look. Then I added to the cuteness by making the frame and box.

The kids in my son's class had a great time. Incase you can't read the ingredents

for the reindeer food it says:

3 scoops magic flying powder ( I used powdered sugar)

1 handful oats ( Oatmeal)

1 scoops glitter (any color)

1 1/2 scoops of raisins.

Thankfulness

2013-11-03T12:00:00.000-08:00

There is always something to be thankful for so I made this thankful tree for my son. Everyday until Thanksgiving we will be adding something to the tree that he is thankful for. So far it's friends, prayer and Vegas. Why Vegas? I'm not sure, crazy kid.

TMNT Birthday Party

2013-09-15T12:31:00.001-07:00

My son had a turtley awesome birthday party this year. The theme he picked was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I loved the TMNT while I was growing up so this party was as much fun for me. His Aunt and I cut out and painted this sewer entrance out of cardboard for our front door. The sign on it says TMNT NOW HIRING.

Here are the gift boxes for the kids to take home, invitation pizza boxes I sent out and party cups! Each cup had the ninja guests names on them.

I also made ninja masks from felt and two games for the kids to practice their ninja skills.

A party is never complete without one of my sisters amazing cakes!

The table was full of turtle treats. Kraang brains made from molding chocolate and the sewer rats are jello.

For lunch we had the TMNT favorite food.

PIZZA!!!

After lunch we made toxic ooze. We wanted to see if we

could turn someone into a real Ninja Turtle.

Then it was time to practice our ninja skills with the ninja

star toss and toxic ooze barrel toss.

After cake and presents we had to get ready for our ninja class.

Our special guest from Malcolm Martial Arts taught us about each turtle weapon and gave us a demonstration. After that the turtles in training all got a mini session in each weapon.

It was awesome!

My Summer Project

2013-06-09T11:42:00.002-07:00

I've always wanted a school locker for my son's bedroom. About two weeks ago I found this beauty at a consignment store in town. It's a little beat up and needs a new paint job but the latch still works and it sits evenly on the ground. I will keep posting pictures as I work on it. I am super excited.
