It’s that time again…Valentine’s Day. The holiday that single-handedly alienates, disappoints, and destroys human morale every February. But at least it’s a good excuse to eat candy. Instead of over indulging in high calorie boxes of cheap chocolates though (yes, I know, that little map makes them practically irresistible) why not stock up on pretty gummy hearts? You can sneak them into the movie theater and throw them at the annoying teenagers making out three rows in front of you. It’s been quiet here for a few weeks. I’ve been contemplating what I want to do with Yummery and trying to figure out how I can keep up with the posting schedule I want to have in conjunction with my personal and professional obligations. In layman’s terms…it’s awfully hard to keep up with three blogs now that I actually have to do honest to goodness work at my real world job.

To that end, my blogging BFF Hänni and I would very much like to recruit a few additional active contributors to Yummery. My goal is to have new content on this site every weekday (even if it’s just one new item). Contributors will be expected to submit at least two short product write-ups each week. If you cannot commit to this timetable please do not apply.

I received this handy Bon Appétit Daily Calendar as a Christmas gift from my Aunt Beth. It’s really the perfect addition to my desk at work. I definitely find myself looking forward to seeing what yummy dish will appear when I tear off the old day to reveal the current recipe. Today I was greeted with Roasted-Garlic Beef Stew made with beef tenderloin and a host of my favorite winter vegetables including the often maligned rutabaga and parsnip. Needless to say I’ll definitely be keeping this page to try at a later date. I feel like shouting, “It’s alive!” After months of searching for purple versions of Le Creuset products, which I documented on my blog, and finally giving in and purchasing several pieces on eBay, at last the Le Creuset pieces formerly known as “lilac mist” and “aubergine” have been rebranded and released in the states as “lilac” and “cassis.” Why? I have no idea. Perhaps these are more “American” sounding colors? But either way I’m ecstatic. Currently these pieces are exclusive to Sur La Table. Personally I feel that a big dutch oven purchase is in my immediate future.
