The way I dress up for work and the weekends is almost night and day. I work in a pretty conservative environment, so my usual attire are slacks or pants and maybe occasionally wear a skirt. Although we don't really have a dress code, I try not to roll to work in sweats ever. Ever since this new position, I've realized that taking the time to dress up for the day can help with how you feel for the rest of the day. Wearing slumpy clothing makes me feel... well... slumpy.

Lookbook: Leopard Sweater + Ombre Highlights

As I mentioned previously on my last post, I recently got my ombre highlights redone. Since my hair has grown and I've gotten several haircuts, my first ombre highlights were almost gone. I decided that this time I wanted to go lighter than what I had previously.

Ok, they're really not as brassy looking in person as they are on these pictures. It's more of an ashy cool blonde tone. I decided to start the highlights higher than my previous one, and I've been really enjoying how my hair looks like whether it's curled, wavy, or straight. It just gives my hair a little more dimension and oomph. I really love how it turned out, and so do random strangers that I come across with.

In case you're thinking of getting the ombre highlights done, I highly recommend Lydia from Beauty Box in Echo Park. It was my first time going to her to get my highlights done. The stylist (and acquiantance) who previously did my ombre moved to a different state, so I had to find someone new. Finding a new colorist is definitely nerve-wrecking since it's your hair that's on the line. Lydia was highly recommended by a fellow blogger, so I decided to schedule an appointment with her. She was very warm, and will talk you through the process before getting started. The process took about two hours, but I enjoyed chatting with her while she worked on my hair. So if you're looking for a hair stylist, definitely check her out!

It's finally Friday!!! My friend and I are going to have a dineLA night tonight. Super excited! It'll be the second restaurant I'll be checking out. I went to Cafe Bizou last night and their tiramisu was soooo delicious. It was definitely a good end to an awesome meal. A highly recommended place!

I usually only go to one restaurant for every restaurant week, but I think this time around I'll be trying out at least four new different restaurants. Sometimes I wish I can take the chefs home so they can just cook something for me when I want to and just eat. I love good food.

Oh, and if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you probably already know that I recently re-did my ombre highlights. I'll show it on the next outfit post on how it turned out. It's a lot blonder now, but for whatever reason day two looked really brassy that I almost hated it. But it's a lot better now that the color has settled I guess.

Lookbook: Chambray and Pleated Skirt

This look might look somewhat familiar, since I did post a look that looks similar to this. But I decided to take out the pleated skirt again.

I actually wore this outfit last week as my first day outfit in my new position. I just had forgotten to post it. It probably wasn't a good idea wearing this since I had to rearrange my stuff in my new office with boxes and such.

I really do like these Mary Jane pumps. They almost have a similar style to the Steve Madden and ShoeMint version except this one has a contrasting patent heels. They're a little bit more appropriate for a work setting since the heels are not too high, but it does give me enough height.

Lookbook: Waffle Knit Sweater and Waxy Pants

Hi. I hope you guys haven't forgotten about me!

I haven't been posting my outfit here just because I was trying to figure out the picture taking ordeal on the weekdays. I finally decided to make use of my balcony and tripod. The answer has always been outside.

I have been posting some outfit pictures on Instagram (Follow me if you're on it: yummiebitez) as a temporary fix to my outfit-less (?) post on my blog. But it's a bit difficult to see the detail in the outfit when the image is so small. So I've taken it as my new resolution to take pictures of at least three outfits in a week. Now that I figured out how to do that, I can actually share what I wear to work. This also motivates me to dress-up on a regular basis.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but most of my lookbook posts are my weekend outfits. You see, I didn't really have any motivations before to dress up because my work area at my old position was tucked in a corner, and I usually spend most of my nine hours sitting there. We were a small group, and my old position didn't require too many live interactions since every thing was done through e-mail or over the phone. I have this mentality of not wanting to "waste a perfectly good outfit" if no one will see me... at all. So Monday to Thursdays, I usually just wear my ill-fitted slacks and throw on a top and a jacket (if it's cold) and I'm out the door.

But I was recently transferred to a different department in the company which actually requires me to meet with upper management, peers, and our customers. So long gone are the days of lazy dressing. I actually have to look presentable now and I'm all for it.

It's been a little chilly here lately. I guess LA got the winter memo a little late. So I have to bundle up a little to keep warm. I really love pairing a slouchy sweater with skinny pants, and pairing it with heels to dress it up. Lookbook: Christmas Outfit (Lace and Leather)

A way overdue post. But as I had mentioned on my previous post, here's a more detailed post of what I actually wore for Christmas.

I just spent Christmas at my parents' house with some of the family that I have here, family friends, and Lionel of course. Most of my family are in the Philippines, so it's actually pretty mellow around this time of the year for us. I do miss spending Christmas in the Philippines with everyone and just like every year, I wish I actually had a chance to go back again. But because of work, it didn't happen. However, as long as I'm spending it with my parents, brother, and Lionel then I'm happy.

This was actually the outfit that I wore for mass on Christmas day. I saw this dress when I went to TJ Maxx randomly hanging somewhere in the store about a month ago. I knew then that I'll be wearing this for Christmas the moment I saw it. The length of the dress and the cut was just appropriate. It's so feminine and a bit demure. I decided to toughen up the outfit a bit by pairing it with my faux leather jacket and some accessories. And since we've been so blessed with a 70 something weather around, I didn't freeze my bum off wearing this dress after adding some black tights with it.

And by the way, I've been really loving the accessories that Holly (HollyAnnAeree) has given me for Christmas. I love, love, love them. I've been wearing them pretty much everyday since I got them. The earrings are probably my favorite since they pretty much go with everything.

So since my photographer/boyfriend was unavailable today to take my weekend outfit pictures, I had to rely on my iPhone and a dressing room mirror instead. Blogger problems.

Despite that, I actually spent a very productive Sunday today doing chores and finishing up Christmas shopping. I'm almost done!!! I just need to pick a few more things and then it'll be time for me to start wrapping up the presents.

But on to my latest accessory... I recently picked up this Rebecca Minkoff MAB Mini Purse, and I'm in love! I actually first saw this purse when a good friend of mine (aka my "twin") came over. I really like how the bag has a handle and a strap that you can sling across your body. The bag is pretty roomy and it can even carry my dSLR in it. I also love the hardware on the bottom of the bag.

I picked this tawny color since I've been on a lookout for a brown bag that will be pretty versatile and will go with many of my outfits. The size of the bag is also perfect for my height (I'm 5'1) as I'm not drowning in it. Although the satchel strap is non-adjustable, the drop of the bag isn't too long (if want to only wear it on my shoulder). The handle of the bag is also big enough for me sling it on my shoulders if I want to. I can easily carry it on my forearm, as a cross-body bag, and as a shoulder bag.

I've been receiving plenty of inquiries about my Armani Exchange watch. I actually tried to look up the same model, but I can no longer find anywhere. I got the watch over the summer, so I'm guessing it might be from a previous season. But in case you are determined to find it, the item or model number for the watch is AX 3077.

You might have seen this outfit if you've seen my most recent JewelMint review video. I think the reason why I love this outfit so much out of the three is because of this ugly sweater.

I bought this sweater while I was in New York for a only $2! Yes, $2 for this ugly, chunky sweater that I love. I got it from one of those street vendors in the Upper East Side in front of Shake Shack (which is by the way my #1 favorite burger in the world right now). They had piles and piles of sweaters in different colors and this one definitely stood out to me the most.

Now that I think about it, I kinda wish that I bought more than one just because this sweater is so snuggly especially right now that LA is actually having colder temperatures in December (been spoiled with 80 degree weather for the past two years around this time).

Instagram is currently down for maintainance and I feel like the world stopped (ok, too much).

I recently received this JewelMint (referral) Vanguard Necklace piece which was first seen in their November showroom in the mail (amongst other things), and I was excited to have it since I don't own anything like this yet.

I'll have a full review on this piece on a different post, but for now, I just want to share how I decided to wear this piece today... as a bracelet! I had to wrap it around my teeny wrist like three times and the fit is perfect. I love how edgy it looks next to my leather watch.

Last Saturday wasn't exactly the best time to go outdoor shopping because of the fact that it was gloomy and there was a chance of shower. So for preemptive measures, I bundled up and prepared for rain.

I kept my outfit monochromatic, and added some color with my accessories.

I was never a beanie person up until recently when we went to New York. Now, I think beanies make a great accessory to a fall outfit. It can hide a bad hair day and complete a look at the same time. I donned for a beanie that day since we were expecting some sprinkling mid-day and it adds a nice pop of color especially to a gloomy weather.

The bright beaded bracelets were one of my great finds at Santee Alley. I love the red and the turquoise color against the gold bracelets. It adds a nice blend of colors to my arm party and makes it a little bit more interesting.

If you're wondering about the nail color, the nail polishes I used were Sally Hansen's InstaDri Rose A Go-Go and O.P.I's Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection. The colors remind me of donut icing with sprinkles on top... Or ice cream with sprinkles on top... or cotton candy with the sugar still glistening. Yea, you get the point. It reminds me of food.

Lookbook: Polka Dot Skirt and Chambray Shirt

Over the weekend, I spent half a day at Santee Alley in Downtown LA with my friend Heart. Even though Santee Alley is only a few minutes away from where I live, I've only gone a handful of times.

During our shopping trip, I found a few accessories that were really inexpensive. I was partly surprise that they were only a few bucks. I mainly bought some bracelets since I have been stacking them lately. I also found these brown suede Mary Jane shoes that is reminiscent to the Miu Miu's. I have been looking for something similar and I found them without even thinking I'll find them.

I don't know how my mom does it, but I tried to see if I can haggle for these shoes. The lady at store only gave me ten percent off on both of the shoes I bought. I guess it's better than not getting anything at all.

I just fell in love on the structure of the shoes. It had the perfect platform and height, not to mention the heels are thick for extra support. Although, I found the shoes to be a little stiff. I tried to put some insoles in it and made it a little better. I was actually being ambitious by wearing it the first time at the Grove to see Robin Thicke perform for the tree lighting (which we ended up not seeing anyway). I was standing for a few hours. The shoes weren't as comfortable as my Litas, but they weren't painful either. I'm really hoping that after a few more wear that they will be more comfortable.

About the outfit, I've been tempted to wear this chambray men's shirt every single day. Extra small men shirt fits perfectly on me. I love the sleeves are three-quarters long and I can always fold and scrunch them. My boyfriend actually found this for me while he was in the men's section at Topshop during our recent trip to New York. I've worn this top for day two of the Beautylish event with more masculine feel to it. So this outfit is actually the opposite of that.

For this outfit, I decided to moderately mix prints. I ended up really liking pairing up the dark blue polka dot skirt with the chambray shirt and accessorizing it with a leopard scarf. I used a cognac skinny belt to break the blue apart.

My lovely friend, Heart, gifted me with this black furry number. She actually got this for me during the summer, so I've been anxiously waiting for fall so I could finally wear it. I love the extra texture that it adds to a plain outfit.

By the way, I have been obsessing over this bag. I was gifted this bag after doing the shoot with Armani Exchange and Teen Vogue. I love the structure of this bag and its feel. I love how it has both handles and strap options. However, I took out the A|X dogtag that it came with since it was a tad blingy, and I thought it looks better without out it anyway. I thought that this bag couldn't have came at a perfect time when I had to travel to New York. The bag was so spacious that it carried everything that I needed to do my touristy stuff. It also makes a perfect work bag. Can you just tell I'm in love with it?

Sephora Friends and Family 2011 Sale Haul

I tried to keep my haul a little moderate this time. I stuck with picking out the necessities and some good buys for this round.

I finally decided to pick up the most coveted Urban Decay Naked Palette. I was really glad that these weren't an exception to the 20% off discount and that it came back in stock. I've always wanted one, but they're usually sold out in store or online. I do have other neutral eyeshadows, but I bought it because I like the idea of having a variety of neutral eyeshadows in one package.

I also picked up two blushes: one powder and one cream. I picked up the TARINA TARANTINO Dollskin Cheek blush in Parasol and the Make Up Forever HD Blush 5 Nip Slip. I tend to gravitate to pinky blushes hence the selection in colors. I just fell in love with the girly packaging of the TARINA TARANTINO and I love the convenience of the cream blush by having it in a bottle pump.

I picked up these NARS nail polishes because they were on sale. Regular priced NARS nail polishes are usually $17, but since Sephora had their weekly special on these, they were only $8 each. I didn't hesitate on buying both Bad Influence (taupe) and Pokerface (lavender) since they were both great colors especially this fall season.

As far as my samples go, I picked up two perfume samples: DKNY Delicious and Someday by Justin Bieber. I also redeemed 100 points to get the Bumble and Bumble thickening hairspray. I've always been curious with the Biebz perfume line, so why not get a sample?

Lookbook: Color Blocking Purple and Green (at the Beautylish Beauty Social Event)

I have received a few inquiries about this emerald blouse that I wore during the Beautylish Beauty Social. So here's the nitty gritty on it.

So if you missed my previous post, I attended the Beautylish's first Beauty Social event. For day one, I decided to do some color blocking for my outfit.

Few weekends ago, I briefly visited New York for a mini vacation and stumbled upon this emerald button down blouse that I found at a boutique called Necessary Clothing. I was drawn to its color and thought that this blouse is perfect for this fall. The purple 7/8 pants were purchased in New York at Topshop.

It wasn't until I decided to actually wear the blouse when I noticed that there buttons going down on the backside of the blouse. I thought that it was a nice detail to the blouse and it gives you an option to unbutton it during the warmer days. The color is just so striking and it's definitely a color that I didn't have in my closet.

I hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend! The bf and I pretty much skipped any Halloween festivities and kept it low-key by having dinner with some friends and watching Paranormal Activity 3. I'm not sure how I got talked into watching it because I'm petrified of kids in scary movies. And watching that movie only validated it and made it worse. But, since we missed out on going to Horror Nights at Universal, it was our Halloween party. I am pretty bummed that I didn't dress up this year. I've been dressing up every year for Halloween, but this was the first time in awhile. Hopefully next year, we'll be able to come up with a clever costume.

Photoblog: Beautylish's The Beauty Social Event

Day 1:

This past weekend, October 22 and 23, Beautylish hosted their first Beauty Social in Loews Hotel in Santa Monica. Another great event put together by the Beautylish team. I'm so glad to have been part of it.

It was only a few months ago this year when Beautylish had their Spring Trend event here in Los Angeles. And a year ago was their very first event LA event where I met so many amazing people that I have become good friends with. If it weren't for Beautylish, I probably wouldn't have met such an amazing group of people who loves makeup and fashion as I do and who I can relate to when it comes to blogging or Youtube.

So think of the Beauty Social as a smaller scale of IMATS, but a little less hectic and with a really good goodie bag. There were a few companies who attended the event and had setup booths, such as Urban Decay, CoverFx, Temptu, Wella, CND, just to name a few. They also had a panel of speakers who shared their thoughts on various topics. My favorite panel moment was during "So You Want to Be a Guru" when Wendy (Wendy's Lookbook) had shared a heartfelt story based on her experience being a blogger/guru and had everyone wiping their tears.

I was also so ecstatic to meet some of my lovely subscribers. Thank you for supporting my blog and channel. If it weren't for you guys, I would just be writing for myself. And because of you, I'm able to share what I truly love. All the sleepless nights editing videos and pictures or drafting up blog posts make it all worth it for me. I can never say this enough, but thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I was majorly gushing when I finally met Chriselle (ChriselleFactor) and Christine (Temptalia). I love Chriselle's fashion and style videos on Youtube and Christine is the editor of Temptalia, which probably has all the reviews for any product you can think of. It's nice to meet the people you look-up to in person.

I can't believe that a week ago from today, I was roaming the streets of New York. The whole thing ended before it even hit me that I was physically in one of the greatest cities in the world.

The weather during the first day we were there was pretty gloomy with some light sprinkling through out the day. I decided to pick-up a beanie since a little sprinkle on my head usually winds me up sick the next day. I was never a fan of beanies before since I always felt that it makes my head bigger. But this beanie ended up being one of my favorite purchase during our vacation. It kept my head warm and kept my hair dry (haha).

So I'm finally back from my vacation in New York which means back to normalcy. It always takes some time to get back on your groove after a much needed vacation.

Hello from New York!

I'm currently on vacation right now, but I just have to quickly share this to everyone!

A few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to style three different outfits for three different looks along with two other girls from two different cities. It was just a great way for all three of us to showcase our personal style. It was a really great experience and I love every moment of it! Lookbook: Fur and Chains + Review: GAP 1969 Ponte Five-Pocket Leggings

Last Sunday, the bf and I went to Little Tokyo to satisfy our Shabu Shabu cravings. I was glad that the weather was cool enough for me to wear this faux-fur vest again.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, this faux fur vest is a definite staple item for me this Fall. It's just another fun way to add texture and layers to your outfit. And it's also incredibly soft. I find myself petting this vest once in awhile. But can we talk about these pants right now?

Overall Thoughts: When the whole "jeggings" idea first came out, I wasn't sure how I felt about them. I mean I love jeans and leggings, but as a separate entity. But then what is this? Leggings with with pockets and zipper in them? How can they still be leggings? Aren't they technically pants? But that didn't really matter anymore once I slipped these on.

They are by far my most comfortable snug pants ever! I can seriously sleep in them. The material is thick, but lightweight and breathable. I can easily do the splits in these if I knew how. I really love how it hugs my body and doesn't flatten my tush (a skinny like me needs all the help I can get in that department). It's just really comfortable like you're wearing clouds on your bottom is the best way I can describe it. The fabric is just super soft.

I'm normally a size 0 or 00, depending on the brand (for reference, I'm 5'1 with a 24" waist). I bought these pants in size 00, and they fit like a glove. The length is a little long, but not super long that I'll need to get it hemmed. And, I haven't experienced any scrunching in the crotch area (heh). The pants will shrink a teeny bit after washing it, but not to the point where you can't fit in them anymore. They stretch back out again after you've worn them.

I also really love it's olive color because a perfect color for fall!

I think this is the first outfit that I decided to play with the textures. I have the furry, chunky, suede, and cotton elements going on in this picture. This is why I love the cooler weather! You have more options when it comes to layering pieces.

As for my necklace, I bought this at H&M two years ago when I went to Boston. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it then, but I bought it anyway. Thank goodness I finally found a way to wear it. It's a really long chain necklace and I just looped it around my neck twice to make it a shorter piece. So digging it.

By the way, thank you to everyone who appreciates my style post. It really warms my heart to hear it from you guys. I'm glad that I can share my "dress rehersals" and inspire some of you with my post. This whole documenting my outfits has also help me figure out my own personal style and to be inspired by other as well. Thank you for reading my blog :).

Lookbook: Inspired by the Boys + Review: Aldo Lapilio Loafers

I have been on a lookout for loafers. For some reason, I really like their look despite it having that masculine look and feel to it. It's kinda like my whole obsession with oxford shoes.

I recently finally found a great pair of loafers by accident. It's funny how when you're not looking for it, that's when you find it (pretty much applies on anything in life). I just dropped by Aldo one day to peek, and there they were, patent loafers... on sale, and they had my size.

Overall Thoughts: Oddly enough, I was drawn to these patent loafers. I try to stay away from patent leather sometimes since they can be pretty uncomfortable since they don't tend to stretch out unlike leather shoes. But once I slipped them on my feet, they were definitely the most comfortable flats I've worn to date. The lining inside the shoes has some cushioning which makes the shoes really comfortable. The fit is not too snug but it does have some wiggle room, but not enough that the shoes will fly out of my feet.

I was a little worried that I might end up with blisters on my heel since the inside has patent lining inside. But since the shoes weren't so snug and there was some wiggle room, the shoes didn't give me any blisters nor did it chaf. The soles are also very flexible which really helps with comfort when you're walking.

I really love how the whole look of these loafers. The light-colored thread stitching on the toe cap of loafers gives a nice contrast to the black patent leather as well as the brown rubber soles. They just look so simple yet so classic.

Ever since I got these shoes, I have been wearing them to work pretty often. Sometimes, I just want to be comfortable and not wear heels. I've also worn them walking around Old Town Pasadena. And I knew then that these would become my go to shoes.

These loafers also come in a cream color. I opted for the black ones (even though I really like the cream ones too) since I can pair the black ones more with what I have in my closet.

P.S. Check your local Aldo stores for the black patent loafers. They're priced a little cheaper in stores compared to the website ($39.98 vs $44.98).

This outfit was actually inspired by the shoes. I wanted to incorporate my new shoes to my outfit and thought that it'll make a good pairing with my H&M pants. Since my pants were a tad long, I just folded them for a cuffed look.

And how excited was I to finally be able to wear this faux fur vest that I bought a few weeks ago. Up until the last two weekends, it was just way too hot for me to wear this furry piece. They actually make a great layering piece and has kept me pretty warm at night. You might be wondering what am I doing with a size 6 vest. It was actually the smallest size left that I found when I bought it. I didn't really mind either since it sits perfectly on my body. The back part of the vest was a little cropped, so I figured that if I had gotten a size 2 or 4 that it might be too short for me. I like it to be a little past my waist and not so cropped. I didn't feel like I was swimming in them, so a size 6 seemed fine to me. This is definitely a staple piece for me this Fall.

I really like this faux-fur vest so much that I decided to wear it again the next day. But that's another outfit post.
