On Thursday, February 16th, YWSE LA enjoyed a movie screening of Bonsai People - an award winning film about Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus and his work confronting poverty in Bangladesh.  In the film, Dr. Yunus shared his ideas and stories about how Grameen Bank and other Grameen businesses were formed to help confront poverty via the social business concept.  At the end of the film, Holly Mosher, who is the Producer and Director of the film held a private Q & A session at Laemmle Theater NoHo.IMG_4683

Kristine asked me to join the board of YWSE-LA in Feb 2011. It's been one year since then and I have been very blessed to meet so many amazing and talented women in YWSE-LA events and those from other YWSE groups across the nation!

We ended last year w/ a brainstorming session about where we want to take the YWSE-LA group. 

We came up with what I believe to be a very strong mission statement for YWSE-LA:

"Making Los Angeles a hub for women social entrepreneurs."

We believe we can achieve this by:

  • having regular / scheduled events
  • creating smaller tribes within the current group
  • increasing our reach

Join YWSE - LA on a Sunday afternoon of creating a visual representation of your dreams and goals for 2012!
Each of us has a personal idea of what kind of life we want to live. Vision boards are a wonderful way to visualize your goals, dreams, and passions and activate the law of attraction into your life. Through creative activities, coaching exercises, ritual and the power of imagination, you will connect to your unique vision and gifts. Engage your sensibilities to help create and manifest the 2012 you want!

About the workshop leader:

Kristine R. Surla has taught Personal Development and Leadership courses in Universities in Asia and Southern California. She holds a Masters Degree from Stanford University and is a Certified Holistic Health Consultant having studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC. As a social entrepreneur, one of her missions is to help inspire women to use business as a force for social good in the world. She brings a wonderful range of experiences and looks forward to connecting your passions and dreams into your daily life.
