Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and the Zac Brown Band have joined co-host Brad Paisley as the newest additions to the list of performers at the 46th annual CMA Awards show. Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson and Little Big Town were previously announced to perform at the Nov. 1 event at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

In addition to performing, the Zac Brown Band is nominated in two categories: Vocal Group of the Year and Musical Event of the Year.

“The 46th Annual CMA Awards” will be hosted for the fifth time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Thursday, Nov. 1 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Country group Zac Brown Band nets its second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as “Uncaged” starts with a larger-than-expected 234,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It earns the act its best sales week yet, trumping the 153,000 that “You Get What You Give” sold in its debut frame in 2010.

Some industry sources had thought the album was going to launch with perhaps 220,000, but the album did better that forecasted over the weekend. The number was aided by two significant TV performance on CBS’ “The Late Show With David Letterman” (July 11) and NBC’s “Today” (July 13).

Also amplifying “Uncaged’s” number was Amazon MP3, which sale priced the set for the entire week at $3.99. While SoundScan does not break out how many copies are at a specific retailer, some sources suggest that Amazon may have contributed around 25,000 to 30,000 of “Uncaged’s” debut frame.

“Uncaged” tallies the second biggest sales week this year for a country album. Only Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” moved more in a week, when it arrived at No. 1 with 267,000 on the chart dated May 19. Further, in 2011, only one album sold more than 200,000 in a single week: Lady Antebellum’s “Own the Night,” which bowed with 347,000 on Oct. 1.

The performance will begin at 6:55 p.m. CT with a medley of “America The Beautiful” and “Chicken Fried” that will be shown on MLB Network before coverage switches to ESPN at 7 p.m. CT. Zac Brown Band will also play its new single “The Wind” off the upcoming album “Uncaged” on ESPN prior to the start of the Derby.

The 2012 State Farm Home Run Derby will be captained by defending champion Robinson Cano and Matt Kemp, representing the American League and National League, respectively. Cano and Kemp will each choose three other participants for their leagues, and a charity which each slugger will represent.

State Farm and Major League Baseball will donate $150,000 to the winning captain’s charity, $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of America and $25,000 to the losing captain’s charity.

The AL won last season’s Derby by a final count of 76-19.

The song, “The Wind,” “is a barn-burnin’, bluegrass tune off this record,” says Zac of the tune, which he and the band co-wrote with Wyatt Durrette and Levi Lowrey. “It’s probably the most country song we’ve ever done.”

Said violinist Jimmy De Martini of the diverse mix of songs, “it remains true to the Zac Brown Band sound, which has become a style in itself.”

‘Uncaged’ marks the introduction of Zac Brown Band’s newest member, percussionist Daniel de los Reyes, known for touring, recording and performing with artists such as Stevie Nicks, Sting, Peter Frampton and Earth, Wind & Fire. “We sat and played djembe one night until our hands bled,” Zac said of meeting Daniel. “I love his spirit.”

The album was recorded at various studios across the South including Atlanta, Asheville, Nashville and Key West and follows 2008′s ‘The Foundation’ and 2010′s ‘You Get What You Give’. Both albums have gone platinum and remain on the Billboard 200, in addition to producing an unprecedented nine consecutive #1 radio singles.

“This is first record that we’ve made from start to finish in one thought,” said multi-instrumentalist Clay Cook. “The previous albums have been a collection of songs… this is an album.”
