Spa. A wonderful way of treating the body and spirit, of charging your batteries the most pleasant way. Ladies, it’s time for you to feel like queens, forget the everyday routine and experience something new. Be it a family holiday or a “girls’ one”, the following spa centres are a must.

Vichy, France

Is a spa and resort town from “Massif Central”, France, also named Vichy regime, since the Nazi occupation from 1940 to 1944. The town’s urban ring is the second largest in the area, region named Auvergne.

Napoleon III put it on the map, by believing in the remarkable power of the of the springs. During his years of kingship became famous as the Queen of Spas. The imperial atmosphere survived all those years and still does in the area. As gorgeous parts of it, we can mention the opera house, over 500 hectares of parks and gardens making travelers feel like they had reached Heaven and, of course, the casino. Going there you will also enjoy the oceanic climate incorporated with some features of the mountain one, so breathing the air sounds like a great sensation to try.

The first sight to catch the eyes of visitors is the permanent stream of people carrying wicker containers to the Hall des Sources.
The extreme elegant building is home to what Vichy pilgrims consider as being the fount of life.
What makes the spa unique is the great menu of different waters from twelve springs, surrounded by palm trees, pillars and flowers.

Neydharting, Austria

A wonderful and also curious way to spend a holiday is wallowing in a muddy bog, miles away from any types of cities or other forms of civilization. This spectacular spa is renowned for its baths and treatments. The secret? Moor, an oozing mud found only in this particular place, are of moorland set amid lakes and beautiful green hills. This awesome place was a spa centre since the Romans had discovered it, but unfortunately, in the medieval times people did not take care of this place.

Today only exists in an almost forgotten corner of the valley, although the landscape is tremendous and deserves all the attention of the potential visitors, who will not feel sorry for spending their holidays in the middle of nowhere, away from all the noise and hurry. This is that kind of pleasurable experience you are ready to repeat over and over.

The emphasis of the spa is on simplicity, partially because of the conditions. The accommodation is cheap and functional, very close to the treatment centre. After half an hour you are taken so tenderly out of the bath and left to rest an hour in a stated of euphoria, swaddled in cotton sheets.

A good tip: you should trust it, as the German and Australian establishments seem to have faith in Moor’s treating powers, as long as they DO send pacients to this miraculous place, and it’s good for everybody.

Neydharting is also a good destination for those who enjoy sophisticated pursuits, having this way a great possibility of taking long and helpful walks.

Vulcano, Sicily

If you desperately want to escape from the stressful crowded life in the city, another proper destination for you to relax is the southern-most of the Aeolian islands in the north coast of Sicily. Most tourists come from Lipari and are day-trippers, incomprehensible thing, taking in consideration the fact that this place is truly miraculous and its natural resources have remained untapped until now by tourism.

An awful stench greets you, coming from the sulfides in the volcano. Still, you shall get over that, because it’s these concentrated sulfur products that constitute an excellent natural treatment. Also, doing this sort of activity is always even better when you get to see this sort of landscape.

Another advantage is that the pool is open for everyone, without any cure centre or facilities, things are natural and rustic, having this effect of making people understand that nature still is(or, at least, should be) an important part of our lives. The sensation is similar to sitting in a large natural Jacuzzi, although the experience might turn unpleasant if scalding water bubbling catches out through the rock.

All in all, once you have found a perfect spot with relaxing bath temperature water, you can analyze the active volcano with steam issuing from the fissures in its sides.

Its interior is majestic: Plafonele paintings of Fresco with lampadare crystal, covered with ornaments in gold and huge mirrors. The most beautiful part is the Grand Gallery, where numerous balls are taken. In the Mirrors’ Room Mozart, at the age of six years, gave his first regal concert in 1762, in front of princess Maria Theresa and the royal family. Emperor Franz Joseph (1848-1916) inaugurated in 1882 the Palmarium (sera of palm trees), the largest in Europe, where one can admire today the most beautiful specimens in the plant collection, which has become historical.

This is where you can also visit the largest and the oldest Zoo in Europe and the parks and gardens are magnificent. Glorietta is a triumphal arch located on the edge of the hill and offers a splendid view over the city and surroundings.

Another palace, which in French is known as Chateau de Versailles, it’s worth visting. When the castle was built, Versailles was a regional village, today a suburb of Paris. Since1682 Court of Versailles was the central power in France, during that regime. Years after, the facade becomes rectilinear garden terrace, by replacing the center of the Mirrors, age-specific style of Louis XIII.

This cheerful facade has as opposing side thepart from the park, an imposing facade, fully stoned.Mansart gives up these specific baroque features, saying a classic style, with a uniform rate, where horizontality and symmetry dominate, will rigurosly impose itself .He tames the ensemble severity, drawing 2 online casinogroin rows in the center, enlivening this way the top of the railings with some trophies and sculptures for the turnout. The interior decoration reflects the regal magnificence.

” Art of Versailles ”, based on the extent, clarity, harmony and order, becomes the French classicism. Versailles is not only a huge palace, but also an expression of thinking politice. This should not be regarded as a spectacular enactment where all compete at the monarch’s glory: architecture, painting, gardens, sculptures, ornamentation. In the park lies a vast forest, land for amenity and shooting. This great East- West axis crosses the King’s room, located in the center of the immense facades measuring no more, no less than 600 m long, oriented NS.Kin’s life may be compared with the sun, which renews every morning to bring joy and benefits people in France and worldwide.

Gugong or Forbidden City. Cultural and administrative center of the former Chinese empire still fascinates the tourists. The Chinese remain impressed, that “the city of the city” was the center of the world. Gugong has a square surface of 72 hectares and is almost totally surrounded by a ditch with water, which has a protective role. The city is also surrounded by a large wall, and there it reaches a height of 10.4 meters.

While hid it again, now more than seven million visitors annually iron its borders. Many sections are already closed to allow the development of the renovation works.

Babylon, the old area called Mesopotamia, originally known as Sumer, and later as Sumer and Akkad, lies between the rivers Eufrat and Tiger, south of Baghdad today. Babiloniana civilization, between 18 BC sec and 6 BC, it was like the Sumerian one that preceded it,with urban characteristics, although based on agriculture.

Leisure total available population is constantly increasing. Or, as the length of time used for passive recreation remains almost constant, there is a continuous increase
You can walk along the wild beaches, you can take advantage of the opportunities to go on private trips on the sea, you can also benefit by romantic dinners, and you can get accomodation on a private villa situated on the island’s hills.

The fifth largest, Peter Island has the shape of letter L and covers an area of 729ha. It was first colonized by German slave traders. After the abolition of slavery the island has turn back to normal. Half of it, with a port for boats and docks, is dedicated to club iachting and the other half is deserted, unfortunately.
The island offers excellent diving, five beaches, trails and roads for cycling. It is also so little populated that you will only find iguanas or descendant cats brought hundreds of years ago by sailors. One of the most visited places on the island is Deadmans Bay beach, a golf course surrounded by exotic plants. Another intimate and beautiful location is White Bay beach, which offers excellent diving sites of the surface.
At the risk of trotting out a hackneyed phrase, the British Virgin Islands are truly an “island paradise”. If you close your eyes and imagine a Caribbean sailing vacation … odds are you are envisioning our beaches!

The accommodation is usually in small bungalows covered with reeds.

And concerning history, it used to be “The land of spices” as its indigenous used to call it.

Freedom means a lot in our lives, especially because we are accustomed to it. It was given to (most of) us the day we were born, in a form or another. You don’t necessarily have to be that kind of person who smiles when seeing a sunset or an old couple walking hand in hand to understand that freedom is truly priceless. And you know what?! It might even happen to love it just because you feel powerful having it, not that you’d really use those rights you have. An example? A friend of mine always wanted to go to Netherlands because it’s the place where absolutely everything is legal; as long as it doesn’t involve a chainsaw. You’d probably expect her to have done many “naughty” things when she got there. Guess what?! She didn’t. She just felt more comfortable knowing that she could do that or that even if she didn’t need/want to.

One of those countries so well known for their legal drugs is Netherlands, mentioned above. You might be asking now: yes, but why Netherlands? Because, as I was saying, there are other legal things so experience or just see, gaining this way life experience and also enlarging your horizons. You can also try to cross the barrier of your life-style and just enjoy the sight. Even if some do criticize this country for its indulgences, others seem more interested in finding out as much as possible about things such as euthanasia or prostitution. And, of course, some take it as a wonderland for its gorgeous landscapes. The tulip has become a loved symbol of this litigious country, showing purity and serenity.

Besides getting high(in a perfect legal way) you can also visit famous cities like Rotterdam(the second biggest port in the world). Another important thing to visit would be the Peace Palace in The Hague, home of many judicial national and international institutions, including the International Court of Justice. A the target of many law students all over the world, this place is the house of the rights. If you make the choice to visit Utrecht too, then you’ll have the opportunity to see a couple of imposing museums such as the National Museum which is impressive for its collection of musical instruments or the Central Museum, famous for the items thought to date from the Middle Ages.
Even if drugs might not be legal in some places, you can still consume, if you know where to ask for it. A propper place is, of course, Jamaica. Police don’t really give a shit about people smoking weed in public places. Be it Kingston, Mandeville, Negril or Ocho, you WILL have a great time.

Besides, you can also go shopping, Kingston being internationally known for its range of shops, markets and services. As there are lots of clubs, bars and pubs, you certainly find a way of an entertaining programme. It’s here where you can find The Rotunda, a modern entertainment complex built on four levels, which sounds perfect for a visitor trying to spend his time in a pleasant way.

Another place to go is Argentina, where supposedly consuming cannabis is legal, although you may not buy or sell, grow it or smoke in public places. If you possess more than 5 grams and the Police stop, it won’t be your best day ever. The truth is that legislation doesn`t stop some people from smoking in parks, parking lots or other public places, but they are supposed to have assumed their responsibility for their facts.

Besides getting high, you may also visit lots of interesting things. The so called “land of six continents”, one of the biggest countries in the world, Argentina may offer you the great pleasure of admiring Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires, or the Iguazu Falls, the taller and wider than Niagara Falls. Nature is the perfect place for those people living in the big cities. It helps you chill out and see things in a total different way.

If three places aren`t enough for you, there’s no problem, as long as Ecuador exists. In this country you are allowed to carry two marijuana cigarettes, although growing and selling are prohibited.

Another good reason for you to go to Ecuador are the comfortable prices. You can make a short trip to Galapagos Islands, which belong to that country. It could also be an interesting way of improving your Spanish. You can also visit MAAC, an Anthropological and Contemporary Art Museum, which was inaugurated in 2004. It holds impressive archeological and art items.

Decide on a realistic budget because when boots are concerned, you get what you pay for. Try purchasing the best boots you can afford because these will be used for some time and quality must be a prime criteria.

Think of the type of hiking you will be doing. There is a big difference between a one-day hike with a light backpack and hiking for a few days carrying some 50 pounds. A tip is that the heavier a boot is, the more it is suited for heavy-duty use. Also, remember that the materials used in boots differ. The heavy boots have leather and plastic, providing extra support and can whitstand heavy loads.

Types of boots:
• trail shoes
• trail hikers
• mountaneering

Try on the boots with the socks you intend to wear when hiking. Trust what your body tells you regarding how comfortable they are. No matter how well-known the manufacturer may be, the boot may not be for you. If something’s wrong when trying on a pair of boots, change them. You can also try bringing a friend along to have another point of view.

Walk around the store, be patient and don’t jump on the best looking boot there. When you find boots to your liking, try them on and make a couple of steps or even better, if the store has a ramp (most of them do), go on it and even jump around. Make sure the boot fits your foot and is above all else comfortable to wear. Make sure the heel area is free of movement and it is a good ideea to check the space between your toes and the end of the boot.

When you have narrowed the boots to a handfull, take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of each boot and look at the prices. After buying the boots, make sure to break them before hiking. Never go hiking with a new pair of boots without doing so. This will cause blisters. To break a pair of boots, wear them a couple of days. Wear the same type of socks used for hiking. During this time, the material will take note of your foot and will stretch accordingly. If the boots feel uncomfortable, you can always take them back and get another pair. Hopefully, that won’t be the case.

When hiking, in case a blister or hot spot appears, place some padding over the area or an adhesive bandage.

A pair of good, durable boots will last you for some time. But you must remember to take care of them. Clean and waterproof the boots, especially leather from time to time. Pay special attention to seams as with time can become porous.

What to do ? Read on to have an idea of what can be done in such a case.

First of all, when lost in the mountains you must know that hypothermia is your number one enemy. We human’s don’t like cold weather very much and as such, we don’t have many natural means of defense against cold (like fur for example).

Staying calm against loneliness and the unknown will greatly increase your chances. Your reaction to fear composes the majority of mountain survival, the rest being your hear and knowing how to use it.

Always let someone know of your route and destination before heading out. Try studying the area a little as to have an idea of your bearings. Don’t be afrraid to ask the locals for advice.

If you do get lost and told someone where you are going, don’t panic. Rescue teams will be sent to look for you. Usually, searches will be done during the day when adults are missing, but in the case of children, the search will go on into the night.

Try making a shelter. See what kind of environment you have around you before trying to construct something. And don’t think about heavy labour, you don’t need to sweat and get cold in the process. In snow covered areas, a good option is to dig a cave in the deep snow that can offer protection from the elements. Or you can try digging a trench – an easier job than a cave. Use a big stick or anything else that can help you dig the trench, get in and cover it with leaves or branches. Try to stay away from the valleys, they can be the coldest spot on the mountain because of the falling cold air.

During the day is the best time to signal for help. Go to the highest possible point so that it would be easier for rescuers to see you and vice-versa.

Do not wander far if you get lost. The search teams will try to retrace your steps and if you get too far from the trails they might get to you later than sooner. There have been many examples of searchers finding empty vehicles because the driver has wandered off. Don’t do the same thing.

If you happen to get frostbite, do not try to rewarm the area until you get out of harm’s way. You can still walk on frostbitten feet, but when they get warm you will feel the pain and walking will be difficult.

Before going out, dress properly, layering your clothes. The first layer should consist of long underwear, the second should be something to trap and create warm air, such as a down parka and the third layer should be some kind of breathable jacket.

Make sure you have a map, compass, first aid kit, a heat source, food and a signalling device. Of course, these are not the only things you should carry, but they can be a starting point.

Many exotic locations around the world would need you to go through some desert, big or small, and for the explorer in you, there’s no bigger pleasure. But for the un-explorer in you, here are some tips while traveling through such an area.

First of all, you have to know your limits, and start easy. When planning the trip, especially if the area is not too populated, inform someone of your destination and route. Thus, if something happens, people will know where to come and look for you. Also, It’s very important that you check if you phone is working, and refill your battery.

What you should do, is search for a very reliable guide. He can get you out of a lot of problems and you can also learn from him, but once again, make sure he’s reliable. Also, there’s a big chance he’ll want to ask you a whole lot of money, so bargain with him. It shouldn’t be very expensive and you’ll also get the chance to work your social skills and there’s a good chance the guide will actually be insulted if you don’t bargain.

If traveling by car, make sure it is in good condition and check that you have the following:

•	cell phone
•	a spare tire
•	tools (which you should know how to use)
•	reserve gas and oil
•	water (lots)
•	a good battery
•	hoses
•	spare fan belts

While driving, keep an eye on the sky because flash floods can happen when thunderheads are in sight, even though it doesn’t have to rain at your location. If a dust storm happens, get off the road and turn on your emergency flashes, while backing into the wind. When going through washes and sandy areas, it is better to get off and test the footing so that the car won’t get stuck. These things happen in inhabited parts and even some urban areas.

If you will go by foot (these are useful when you go by car too), check that you have the following:

•	lots and lots of fruits, tea (especially green or black, which when drank hot, is very good for you), and generally speaking light foods
•	cell phone
•	water, about one gallon per day / 1 person
•	a map showing the nearest populated areas
•	sunscreen, hat, warm clothes and blankets
•	a pocket knife, compass, first aid kit, compass
•	waterproof matches, lighter or flint
•	a signaling device, like a whistle, aluminum foil or a mirror

Periodically look back and take a mental picture of what it looks like. This will help you get back.
Don’t stray off established paths and, if possible, leave some markings on the trail.

Now, let’s talk about what to do if something happens ( you get lost and / or the vehicle breaks down)

In the event the vehicle breaks down and you can’t fix it, stay near it and wait for rescue. Don’t attempt to leave on foot unless you are positive of the route to help. But better think about it: you have supplies, not to mention that a person is harder to be seen from a distance than a car.

If you are on foot and get lost, don’t panic, especially if people know where you are. Try to retrace your steps. Use high elevation to look around and get a sense of your bearings. Rest frequently to avoid heat prostration. Make sure you sit at least twelve inches above the ground in the summer by using a stool or branch. The ground temperature is hotter than the air temperature.

When walking, do it slowly and rest frequently. Breathe through your nose, try staying in the shade and wear clothes. It will help ration sweat. If you see someone, use some aluminum foil or mirror to signal for help.

I really can’t stress the issue that you shouldn’t go unprepared enough. Start in very easy areas, ask the locals, and don’t do anything stupid, no matter how romantic or easy it would seem. If you want to be a man, think first.

Saint Vitus’s Cathedral was built up round Saint Vaclav’s tumb, the patron of Bohemia. He was a Christian noble, beloved by people. The cathedral was edified where all his dregs were assembled and burried by his brother.
Spiritual symbol of the Czech Republic, the chapel is magnificently decorated and its architecture gives the monument a unique aspect. The gems that decorate it, the pictural scenes that date since the XIVth century confer it nobleness and the light that bites into, blurred by the Bohemia stained glass enhances its charm. Other really special elements of the building are Crown Room, Queens’ and Kings’ Crypt, Final Judgement’s Mosaic on the south front of the cathedral, plentifully decorated, dating since 1370, considered to be the oldest external monumental mosaic from the Northern Alpes.
Witness of the fascinating history of the city where the reformer Jan Hus was burnt at the stake, where the legend of Golem was born, the fantastic creature of Yehuda Levai’s Rabbi, or мебелиFranz Kafka’s creations, Saint Vitus’s Cathedral keeps vigil silently, surrounded by a misterious atmosphere, the old and illustrious capital of Boemia’s kingdom.

мебелиNotre Dame Cathedral – one of the most important cathedrals of the world. Even though the Romanic style is evoked, it is here where, for the first time, were applied architectural solutions belonging to the Gothic style. Possessing imposant proportions, 130 m length, 35 m height, the front nave is embellished with paintings and statues.
Notre – Dame is considered to be the darkest cathedral of the big Gothic ones, the light which is filtered through the colored rosettes confering mystical feelings in the severe penumbra.

Siena Cathedral is a gorgeous mixture of Gothic and Romanic styles designed by Nicola Pisano, dating from 1220. Known as being one of the biggest cathedrals from Italy, it could have become even the biggest Christian cathedral if a severe plague of the XIV-th century had not had obstructed the continuation of the already begun plans. The Siena Dome was risen between 1215 and 1263, its architecture belonging, partially, to the gothic master Nicola Pisano. His son, Jovanni, designed the plans for the inferior part of the facade, begun in 1285.
The exterior is made out of multi-coloured marble, while the interior is black and white. Most of the sculptures, placed on its facade, are copies of the originals (which are kept inside for better preservation).

Virgin Mary, Cracow – impressing and well-kept, dating from 1220. It is easy to recognise because of the two towers of different patterns and sizes. It is also known for its shire sculpted in wood during the XVth century, by the German Veit Stoss.
And if you don’t believe in rent a car bulgariamiracles, you’ll have to pay attention to this one: during the earthquake from 1442, many of the constructions collapsed, but not its big tower, which didn’t even move.

Saint Etienne Cathedral - Religious edifice from Sens, France. One of the earliest Gothic catherdals in France, its construction had begun in 1140 and belongs almost completely to the XIIth century.
The bells from the belfry in the tower were very famous during the Middle Ages. The two bells that “survived” until today, La Savinienne and La Potentienne, weigh 15, 3 and 13, 8 tons.
From all the marvels existing in the interior of the cathedral, one of the most important is the tomb of the Louis Dauphin of France king.
The bas-reliefs in the cathedral describe scenes of Antoine Duprat’s life, the chancellor of France between 1525 and 1535. The mausoleum where these bas-reliefs come from was destroyed during the French Revolution.
The chatedral’s treasury, one of the richest in antiquities of the entire France, keeps a piece of the original cross presented by Charlemange, next to the vestments of Thoman Becket. All these are now kept in this museum, one that truly deserves to be seen in a lifetime.

Westminster Chatedral – is one of the most visited churches from the United Kingdom. This is the daily place to come for many English. There are special ceremonies and gatherings of the worshippers, who often fill it up completely. The interior is decorated with a succession of artistic elements which are connected to the dedication day.
Its Byzantine architecture makes it an unique presence in the urbanised London, the atmosphere of deep prayers from inside making the Queen Elisabeth of England to visit it in 1995. Many other personalities have been there to pray or, perhaps, just to visit it as a cultural sanctuary. One of those people is Tony Blair. As he is Christian, he often comes here to collect his thoughts with his wife, Cherie Blair, a well-known Catholic.

Saint Andrew’s, Singapore – In 1834 began the building of the first Anglican dwelling cult. Today, the actual cathedral of Singapore, dedicated to Saint Andrew, a veritable architectonical jewel is NOT the original one. The first one was built in 1834 and, destroyed by lightning, its reconstruction imposing itself as a necesity. At that time, the natives thought it was a sign feom God. They suggested cutting thirty heads to make the evil spirits calm down, but, of course, the English refused to listen to that piece of advice. The new structure, in a Gothic English Renaissantist style, was finished in 1861.
Placed on a pretty crowded commercial area, Saint Andrew’s Cathedral watches white and serene the urban agitation around it, from the middle of a green area, which makes you think of England’s marvelous nature, while its tower keeps its eyes on the trees all around the park, as a veritable Christian sentinel in this distant Asian city.

The future has been dissected, discussed and often anticipated in various Sci-Fi works released along the years, by such authors like Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick or Robert Heinlein. However, the limits of normal travel have remained the same for decades, although machinery and tech have improved adjacent factors like comfort or speed. The skies are still the limit for must of us, unless you’re astronauts of course. So, what innovation technology will bring in the future, so that mankind can exceed the primordial limits and push things a little bit further? With this in mind, we’ve analyzed a few awesome concepts from various comics and graphic sketches.

Journey towards the stars. Artist: Nicolas Bouvier.

Talented game designer, Nicolas Bouvier, has now become famous for his well crafted sci-fi sketches, most of which depicting space scenery and marvelous ship concepts. Check out more of Nicolas’ concepts here.

Exploring the depths of the seven seas. Artist: Jeffrey Turley.

The ocean deeps are still an enigma for a lot of scientists, with thousands, maybe millions, of potential undiscovered new species of marine life. This aquatic vehicle could be used for archeology, research, exploration and, why not, travel. Jeffrey Turley, the artist, works down at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and according to him he turns up with work like this on a regular basis, just to keep his art fresh. Artist: David Levy.

Seemingly like a scene from well animated anime flick, David Levy’s design impresses through unconventionality and imagination. The concept of space pirate ships have long been applied, but this is just awesome!
Designed by the very young, 23-year old artist, Ben Mauro, this intriguing concept tries to paint a scene on how future foreign world exploration will look like.
This weird, clover shaped spacecraft has been designed by artist Joel Carlo Aymat as a simple space carrier for people, wanting to go from point A to point B at lightspeed. “It’d be like the Toyota FT-HS of space travel!” said Aymat, about his contraption. Artist: Jake Parker.

A big fan of pre-WWII aircraft design, artist Jake Parker designed this pretty cool sketch of a very powerful byplane, docking on a floating island. That’s Peter Pan material for ya. More of Parker’s work.

This frightening concept depicts the war machine of the future. Inspired by Hollywood flicks Terminator and Aliens, Swedish designer Theodor Waern sketched a really well inspired death bringer. Dubbed the “Ferro,” Waern’s war machine is equipped with weapons and can carry up to eight passengers and a pilot.

Back March I made a list of 10 of the most beautiful bridges in the world. Now, I’ve decided I should return to my long lasting passion for bridges and present to you the 5 longest bridges in the world. Enjoy, and don’t forget to share your thoughts.
