The Tulsi or the holy basil is an herb typical to the Indian religion and culture. This has assumed great religious significance over thousands of years.

3. Children’s Ailments: widespread pediatric problems like cough cold, fever, diarrhea and vomiting respond constructively to the juice of basil leaves. If pustules of chicken pox delay their appearance, basil leaves taken with saffron will hasten them.

4. Stress: Basil leaves are regard as an ‘adaptogen’ or anti-stress agent. Recent studies have shown that the leaves afford important protection against stress.

3.   Tulsi leaf when eaten in the morning purifies blood.
4.   It can be used as tooth fine particles by drying its leaves and mixed with water.
5.   It helps in protecting the entire respiratory tract.

Home Remedy for Common Cold

1. The most effective remedy for ordinary cold would be to have lime juice. Take a glass of lukewarm water and dilute the lime juice in it. Add a tsp of honey to enhance its efficacy.

2. The antiseptic properties of garlic make it one of the most effective ingredients for cold. Consumption of garlic soup would be the best way to cure ordinary cold.

3. Another effective method of using garlic would be to combine some garlic oil with onion juice. Dilute this with water and consume it for several times a day.

4. Ginger also works constructively in treating widespread cold. Cut small pieces of ginger and put it in water. Boil this blend. Once it simmers, strain the liquid and add half a tsp of sugar to it. Drink this hot.

5. Hot water bath also proves effectual as it relieves of all the nasal and chest congestion. Taking steam also would heal the congested nasal tissues.

6. An excellent home remedy would be to have a glass of warm milk. Add 2 milligrams of roasted asafetida and drink this milk quite slowly two times in a day.

7. Mix 200 grams of coriander seeds and jaggery in it. Make a paste of it and then add water in it. Boil this mixture and inhale the vapors of this blend. Four times a day would cure common cold.

8. Make a powdered combination of black pepper and mix this in curd. Add jaggery or sugar candy to it. Take this two times a day to get cured of ordinary cold.
