Trey Lorenz (born Lloyd Lorenz Smith, January 19, 1969) is an American singer and songwriter. He was born in Florence, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Wilson High School.

Lorenz began his career supporting singer Mariah Carey on her first promotional tour in 1990, and the following year he provided background vocals on her album Emotions. Lorenz again served as Carey’s backing singer on her 1992 appearance on the television show MTV Unplugged, where he and Carey sang a cover of the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” – the two reprised this duet at Michael Jackson’s memorial performance on July 7, 2009.

It was evident today that Jennifer Hudson is pregnant, although she has yet to confirm but the pictures obviously show that she is expecting. A friend did confirm that the singer is expecting a baby with boyfriend David Otunga after the Chicago papers reported the baby shower last month. She’s believed to be about eight months pregnant now.

Hudson, who broke up with her pre-fame boyfriend in 2007, has been dating Otunga. David Otunga is a lawyer-turned-WWE wrestler (and former reality show contestant) since last year.

The duet with Trey Lorenz began Tuesday after Jackson’s golden casket was placed in front of the Staples Center stage while a church choir sang.The public event followed a private service for family and friends in a cemetery hall in the Hollywood Hills.
Jackson’s flower-draped casket was brought to Staples Center in a motorcade under law enforcement escort.

Michael Jackson’s memorial service at the Staples center will be covered worldwide in the media today. Fans and media from around the world have flown in to LAX to cover the memorial. So if you are not lucky enough to have a ticket, we recommend you stay far away from this area. “This is the kind of event on TV that just about everyone will tune in for, at least for a part of it, in order to be a part of it,” one producer already positioned at Staples told THR. He said his company’s preparations were similar to those made for a big soccer match or big awards show.

Organizers of the Jackson memorial funeral service told broadcasters that Staples will not offer a VIP red carpet line and that dignitaries and celebs will not have a chance to be interviewed. ABC has apparently gotten the entire balcony of the Nokia Theatre adjacent to Staples for its coverage, while positions on special high-risers near the arena’s entrance were reportedly going for $10,000 a pop to different media outlets.

The celebrities that will appear at the Michael Jackson memorial include Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Kobe Bryant, Smokey Robinson, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Hudson, Lionel Richie, Usher and John Mayer.
