Our two year old little man is literally turning into a little man right before our eyes!  It is hard for me to tell day by day but Big Red sure is growing!

ZJ Fun Facts version 2012:

• ZJ’s hair is still orange as a carrot but his facial features are becoming more pronounced.
• ZJ’s ability to move has progressed from walking to running.
• We have successfully trained ZJ to pee and poo in the potty which is quite advanced for his age
  .
• ZJ can count to 10 in English (although not always in the right order) and he has learned many of the numbers in Spanish.
• ZJ attended his second Boone Hall Oysterfest in January.
• We go to the Awendaw Green Music Festival almost every Wednesday and ZJ loves to dance and listen to the music.  He also loves S’mores.
• ZJ Loves to pretend he is different animals.  He is always saying “I am a… [enter animal name here]“.  So far he has been a Lion, Turtle, Butterfly, Snake, Lady Bug and a Rolley Polley.
• When ZJ goes to bed we can expect to be called back at least 3 times for “Sip a a water”.  When we leave the room he says Bye Bye the cutest way possible.  He also says.  I Love a You and I Love a You More!
• ZJ loves the ice cream man.  He gets super excited and runs to catch up to him.  This is getting quite expensive since the ice cream man comes to our neighborhood EVERY SINGLE DAY (sometimes two different ones do the same day!).
• ZJ loves to ride his bike.  Daddy likes to tell him to go “Really Fast” which he likes to repeat.  He also likes to ride his scooter which he calls his “cooter”

• ZJ’s favorite shows are currently Blues Clues, Little Einstein and Caillou.
• ZJ loves Macaroni & Cheese, anything potatoe, rice, french fries, chicken, cookies, cereal, ovaltine and oatmeal.
• ZJ’s Best Friends are Brody Windsor and Matthew Goldsmith.
• ZJ hasn’t been sick in a while! (knock on wood)
• ZJ had his first trip to the dentist and had a perfect checkup.
• ZJ loves catching Rolley Polley’s.
• ZJ likes to help Daddy feed his garden.
• ZJ’s favorite book’s are Firebears & I Spy.

We are looking forward to spending a week in Punta Cana next week but will miss our little lion.  This will be our longest duration of time away from him ever!  We sure will miss him but look forward to making Aunt Barie official!

In October Karen and I went to MD to go to our good friend Hans and Courtney Hergenroeder’s wedding.  Near the end of the trip we were gifted a photo shoot from our good friend and professional photographer Erin Shaklee Fiddler.  The location for the photo shoot was Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis.  The results were fantastic.  Thank you so much Erin!

I have been slacking on keeping ZJ’s blog up to date. I hope to get Karen up and running soon to help me with adding content. Since my last post was in May I thought I would start catching up by taking this post to capture some of our favorite summer memories with ZJ. Enjoy!

Our little man is 18 Months old and still growing strong.  During a doctor visit April 18th he weighed in at 25 lbs flat.  He is just like me,  skinny with a big belly

Fun ZJ facts:

1.  ZJ is still the biggest flirt in the world.  He loves people and just the sight of other children puts a smile on his face ear to ear.

2.  ZJ is a little troublemaker.  He plays my air intake vent like a music instrument and/or throws toys and then slowly looks at you to see how you will react.  He also stands up on chairs to get a reaction.  I have no idea why he desires so much attention.  He surely didn’t get that from me

3.  ZJ has a funny habit now where he throws his hands up in a “Pick me up” motion.  He does it to EVERYBODY.  Even the cashier at Walmart!  We have to keep an eye on him.

4.  I believe ZJ is starting to recognize pictures of himself.  He sure likes to watch video’s of himself.  I showed him the video below and he started cracking up.

5.  ZJ is a drummer.  We are going to have to buy him a set soon.  He loves music and loves to dance.  We still play guitar together but he is losing interest fast.  I guess it is time for me to learn some new songs.

ZJ’s Vocabulary:

Mama, Dada (sometimes he says Daddy Doo too), Nana, RoRo (Our Daycare has a Nanny named Rosa who the kids call RoRo), Bye Bye, Ba Ba, Kitty Cat, Tay Tay, MMMMMmmmmmMMMMMmmmmm (as in Yummy!) and most recently… Elmo!  He is starting to imitate our words at an escalated rate so it is time to retire the naughty words.
