The search for Zawiyah Foundation’s new home has been going on for awhile now. According to Imam Fode, recently a warehouse has been found suitable and is for sale for about $369 000. It is located on Westminster Highway close to the Knight Street bridge. Imam Fode is very interested in everyone’s feedback. Assalamu’alaykum,

We hope you are having a good week. The Day of Ashura which is the 10th day of Muharram, this year falls on Saturday, October 24. It is known as the most sacred day in the month of Muharram. Fasting is highly recommended on this day by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). According to a narration by Muslim, fasting on the day of Ashura expiates for the sins of the past year. Since the Jews also observe the Ashura, fasting on the 9th of Muharram was considered desirable by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to distinguish between Islam and Judaism.

We would like everyone to please take note of the different venue addresses of the activities this week. Jummah Prayer this Friday will be held at the Polish Community Centre on Fraser St. We ask that everyone please bring your own prayer mats. We are still in the process of securing a permanent home for Zawiyah Foundation. In the meantime these activities organized by Zawiyah Foundation continue to run and we will be sending out regular updates.

We are pleased to announce that the location of the Friday Prayer tomorrow, would be at our former location on Crompton Street. Please see the confirmed information below:

We would like to inform you that Zawiyah Foundation is moving out of our current location on Crompton Street.

We seek your understanding that Imam Fode will not be taking any appointments until further notice.

We will still be holding our weekly Dhikr Majlis tomorrow, Thursday October 8th at the Centre. It begins at 7.30 pm after Maghrib prayer.

Friday Prayer on October 9th also will be held at the Crompton Street location. Imam Fode will be giving an English lecture starting from 2 pm.

The location of Arabic and Tafseer classes on Sunday is still being determined. We will be sending out more information soon in our newsletter. InshaAllah. If you have not signed up for our mailing list, please do so.

This year Zawiyah Foundation is pleased to announce that Eid ul-Adha prayer will be held at Trout Lake Community Centre. Please see the information below:

Monthly Family Dars – Sunday, 27th September at 6 pm

Our monthly Family Dars will commence as usual this Sunday, 27th September at 6pm. Do come and join us to listen to an uplifting lecture by Imam Fode followed by a delicious dinner. Please bring your family and friends.

We would like to announce that the new Shawwal moon was not sighted tonight around sunset. Therefore Eid is going to be on Saturday July 18, 2015. We welcome everyone to join us at Zawiyah Foundation on Crompton Street for Eid prayer. Eid prayer will be held over 2 sessions –

1st Session at 8 am

2nd Session at 8.30 am

We advise everyone to arrive promptly. Should the first session be full, please wait outside the Centre patiently until the first prayer has been completed and the congregation has filed outside. We thank you for your cooperation in making this Eid morning a special and successful one

Please be informed that Tafseer class will be cancelled this Sunday, July 19.

Have a wonderful last day of Ramadhan. May all our effort in this beautiful month be accepted and we continue with doing our good deeds beyond Ramadhan.

We would like take this opportunity to wish everyone Eid Mubarak. Have a joyous and jubilant celebration!

It seems hard to believe, but this beautiful month, the best of months is almost coming to an end. It is not over yet. The door is still wide open for us to seek repentance, increase our worship and strengthen our relationship with the Almighty God.

Sunday class on July 12 is cancelled. Tafseer class students please take note. We will send out an announcement once class resumes after Eid.

Sighting of the Shawwal moon will occur on Thursday, evening of July 16 around sunset. Look out for updates here and you can also call the Centre to listen to a recorded message to find out when Ramadhan ends and Shawwal begins.

This year, Eid prayer will be held over 2 sessions at Zawiyah Foundation on Crompton Street.

The 1st Session starts at 8 am.

The 2nd Session starts at 8.30 am.

Please arrive promptly. In the event that the first session is full, please wait outside and join in the second session once the crowd has cleared. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in making the Eid morning a joyous and successful one.

May the Almighty accept our repentance, multiply our rewards and award us with the dress of Taqwa. We wish everyone a blessed and successful Ramadhan.
