4 Billion People Don't Have Access To The Internet

New data released at the weekend by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the United Nations (UN) specialized agency for information and communication technology (ICT), show that over 3.9 billion people remain cut-off from the vast resources available on the Internet, despite falling prices for ICT services. ICT Facts & Figures 2016 shows that developing countries now account for the vast majority of Internet users, with 2.5billion users compared with one billion in developed countries.

Nigeria has more than 100 million internet users, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
But Internet penetration rates tell a different story, with 81% in developed countries, compared with 40% in developing countries and 15% in the least developed countries. According to ITU Secretary-General, Houlin Zhao, he said “Global interconnectedness is rapidly expanding, however more needs to be done to bridge the digital divide and bring the more than a half of the global population not using the Internet into the digital economy,”

The Director of the ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau, Brahima Sanou said its role is to facilitate the attainment of the 17 SDGs and their targets this year.

Based on another development by facebook, Zuckerberg and company are designing a flying drone that will provide Internet access in remote parts of the world, it's called Aquila. Their statistics shows that more than four billion people still lack access to the Internet, primarily in developing countries, according to the World Economic Forum. Lack of electricity and 3G coverage are major reasons and issues a drone might be able to address. But many people also lack the funds to buy devices that can connect to the internet, are illiterate, or speak a language not widely represented online.

Facebook is not the only company racing to tap this market. Google is also working on its own connectivity solutions, like its giant Project Loon balloons.

How to Browse With The New Simple Android Server on Your Smartphone – MTN BBLITE 5GB PLAN

It has been a while now that the Simple Server connection has been given many people a difficult time to browse and surf the net on their android smartphone, although the connection is still well going on PC. The reason for this is that the Simple Server (APK) has been changed from the old version to the new version and it’s now a totally different app. The Simple Server for PC is still the same, but if you don’t know how to set it up for your Computer then read this post - How To Browse unlimited with MTN Simple Server on PC.

Now, let’s go the main business…..

First of all, download the New MTN Simple Server on Google Play Store here on your computer if you want, or go to Play Store on your phone and search for it to download. After installation, click on play store> My Apps> then Simple Server to see if there is any necessary update, you need to make sure it is up-to-date before it will works perfectly. (As you are reading on, you will see some added links, don’t hesitate to read the added links in this post if you have not done what is expected in those areas, because that is the only way you can benefit maximally. I advise you read this post fully before you start).

Now, Navigate to your phone settings and set up your APN as follows:

Name: Simple Android Server
APN: web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
Proxy: 127.0.0.1
Port: 8080

(NOTE: Your phone must be rooted before the Simple Server will work perfectly well on your phone because this New Simple Server doesn’t use Auto proxy or Proxy Droid. If you want see how to root your phone click HERE or read How to root all Android Smartphone with KingRoot/Root Without Computer ).

After you have set up your APN, and your phone is well rooted, open the new Simple Server and set up the 5 categories as follows:

1. Set Connection – Select local server
2. Profile – leave it to the default Profile 1
3. General Setting – Proxy Settings

You may not want to root because rooting voids your warranty and there is a slim chance for you to break your phone (only if you don’t follow the steps), and you will lose your OTA (Over The Air) updates.

If you have decided to root your phone, I will give you two different tutorials on how you can do it. If the first doesn’t work, I hope the second one will work.

1. Rooting with KingRoot
KingRoot is a one-click rooting tool. All you have to do is just tap the root button and wait for the process to be finished. But you must install the app through an APK file first. (I advise you read this post fully before you start).

Step 1: Go to your phone’s settings> security> and click the check box to allow installation from “unknown sources” and save it. (If you can download the KingRoot app from Google Play Store, that will be fine just jump to step four)

Step 2: Enable USB Debugging in your Android device’s developers setting before you start. Go to Setting > About phone > Software Information or Developer options> tap it and turn on USB Debugging.

Step 3: Now download and install the app called KingRoot (click here to Download).

Step 4: Once you have installed the app, launch it and tap on “TRY TO ROOT” button. (Note: You must have Internet connection before the rooting can be successful)

Step 5: Wait for few minutes until it reaches 100%. After that your android phone is successfully rooted.

(If the process stops before 100%, check your Internet connection and repeat it some few more times until it gets to 100%). If you want to verify, then you can download Root checker app.

After several attempts, if you still can’t root your android phone, then try the second method below.

2. Root Android Without PC
This method of rooting is also similar with the one above, but here you will be provided with various lists of smartphones and their rooting method. Just follow it well.

Go to your Play Store and search for “Root Android Without Computer”. Or click here to Download It.
Install and launch the app. (see the app in the screen shot below).
Read the Step 1. Device Information and after that go to step Two to Choose Your Device from the list mentioned.
If your device is in the list of compatible devices, just follow the method. But if not click on My Device is Not in the Compatibility List and follow the process.
After you have successfully root your phone, If you want to verify, then you can download Root checker app.

Samsung re-launches Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 for 2016

Samsung has officially unveiled a 2016 reboot of its Galaxy A series. The new range includes the Samsung Galaxy A3, Samsung Galaxy A5, and Samsung Galaxy A7 rebooted for 2016. According to Samsung "The line-up reinforces the Samsung Galaxy design heritage, combining metal and glass to create a beautiful premium exterior with a narrower bezel, for an exceptional viewing experience. " The range "also comes equipped with an enhanced camera system for brighter and clearer photos and videos," said Samsung, "The advanced system includes Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) to prevent image blurring, as well as a front and rear F1.9 lens to allow users to take the best photos in dark conditions."

The Galaxy A3 is a 4.7in display, while the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 go up from here to 5.2in and 5.5in respectively, so there's something to suit everyone. They're all powered by octa-core processors, feature 16GB of onboard storage, and carry support for microSD cards up to 128GB. They also each feature a 13MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera, as well as Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Samsung Galaxy J3 (SM-J3109) has announced, features a 5 inch HD ( 720×1280 pixels) Super AMOLED Display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad core Processor with 1.5GB RAM. For graphics, it comes with a Mali GPU.

Galaxy J3 smartphone comes with a 8 Megapixel Autofocus rear camera with LED Flash. For selfies, it comes with a 5 Megapixel front camera with a LED flash. It comes with 8GB on-board storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB using MicroSD Card.

Its connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/AGPS, NFC, GLONASS, Bluetooth and Micro-USB. It packs a 2,600 mAh battery.

Have you ever dropped your phone and got scared of picking it up, thinking "my screen must have smashed to a thousand tiny pieces". The Moto X Force by Motorola might just be the right phone for you, because it is built - screen "shatterproof".

The phone is essentially a better-equipped variant of the Moto X Style (called Pure in the US), which was launched earlier this year. It's a 5.4-inch display with 2560x1440 pixel resolution, and an octa-core processor and also a 21-megapixel camera. An awesome 3700mAh battery capacity which will last for more than 2 days. It also support wireless charging and fast charging, using a compatible plug. Fast-charging will give a 13 hours of use after only 15 minutes of charging. It comes with 32GB of storage as standard, and it can be expanded to 64GB using the Moto Maker tool.

The Moto X Force will hit UK stores in November and will come with a £499 price tag for the 32GB model, or £534 for the 64GB model. In the US, it's tagged at a price $624 and $720 respectively, but it's currently only available on a Verizon contract. There's no pricing available for Australia yet, but the UK prices roughly convert to AU$1075 and AU$1155 respectively.

The huge Samsung Galaxy View tablet is finally available to pre-order for $600.

The large 18.4-inch display comes with FullHD resolution for a density of about 120ppi, hinting that it's not to be used at arms length. The Exynos 7580 SoC powers the Galaxy View, its processor clocked at up to 1.6GHz.

The specsheet goes on with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which can be expanded by popping in a microSD card up to 128GB. You get a 2.1MP front-facing camera with FullHD video recording, and thankfully you are denied the opportunity to use the View as a camera - there's no rear shooter.

There's a full connectivity suite aboard the View, with quad-band 3G and Cat.6 LTE, and a Wi-Fi-only model may be available too. Either way, the entire WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac range of standards is supported. There's Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS.

The battery inside the tablet has a rather modest 5,700mAh capacity, though Samsung promises 8.5 hours of video playback out of it. Not much detail is revealed on the kickstand, but by now we're expecting it to be a permanent fixture.

The Galaxy View runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by the Exynos 7580 octa-core 1.6GHz processor. There’s 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to an extra 128GB via MicroSD card. This gigantic tablet has a 5,700mAh battery which is capable of providing 8.5 hours of video playback. Also come with stereo speakers, Bluetooth 4.1 and a 2.1MP front facing camera. For $599, you’ll get an Android-based tablet 18.4-inch full HD 1080p display.

Although specifications don’t exactly scream ‘flagship’, given that its primary use will be to watch Netflix, or any other video streaming service, it should easily be powerful enough to handle it. What’s more, 1080p resolution at a few feet away will still look pretty sharp.

Samsung isn’t the only company to see the need for big tablets this year. Ignoring the comparatively tiny iPad Pro, Alcatel OneTouch teased a 17-inch tablet dubbed the Xess, which it’s expected to reveal in more detail at CES next year.

Adorama is taking pre-orders now, but hasn’t stated when customers should expect to receive their orders, but does state that any pre-orders placed will be shipped to customers on a first-come first-serve basis, and credit cards won’t be charged until the unit ships

Huawei made Google Nexus 6P will be available in India starting from November 2015. The smartphone was made available for pre-orders on Flipkart and leading Large Format Retail (LFR) stores starting 13th October. According to THE MOBILE INDIAN, the high-end Nexus 6P was announced for the Indian market earlier this month at a price tag of Rs 39,999 (32GB) and Rs 42,999 (64 GB) with two colors Aluminum (Silver) and Graphite (Black). The first batch of the smartphone will be available in India starting first week of November.

Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset which has a 64-bit 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 430GPU along with 3GB of RAM. The device is powered by a 3,450 mAh battery. It has a fingerprint sensor that are located in the back panel and a USB Type-C connector.

Apple watch, which was launched and now available in many countries in Europe and the US will now be available in India from November 6. It has been speculated that the Apple watch is a combination of WiFi and the use of the M8 motion co-processor.

The Apple Watch contains a built-in mic and speaker, which can be used to conduct various activities like dictating emails and instructing Siri. Apple watch and Apple watch edition comes with Sapphire crystal, which helps to protect the screen and sports version has a strengthened lon-X glass on the screen. Nexus devices are Google’s way of showing what the latest version of Android can do, made in partnership with different manufactures like LG (LG NEXUS 6 ), Huawei (Huawei Nexus 6P) and other manufacturers. They run Android as Google intends it, without modifications, and receive software updates first.

The Nexus 5X is the successor to 2013’s Nexus 5 – Google’s most popular Nexus device to date – and like 2013’s Nexus smartphone, the 5X is made by The Nexus 5X is the smaller and cheaper of Google’s new flagship Android 6.0 Marshmallow smartphones, and is billed as the phone for everyone. It’s still a relatively compact smartphone, but now has a 5.2in screen and a longer body than the Nexus 5, which lets it fit in a front-facing speaker at the bottom. The top and bottom speakers do not work as a stereo pair, unfortunately. It is 7.9mm thick, covered in a smooth soft-touch plastic, and weighs 136g, making it one of the lightest top-end smartphones currently available. The 6.8mm thick Samsung Galaxy S6, for instance, weighs 138g. The iPhone 6S is 7.1mm thick and weighs 143g.

It doesn’t feel quite as premium as the iPhone or Galaxy S6, but its plastic is high quality, warm to the touch and a lot easier to hold onto. The buttons on the side feel a little basic and cheap, but the rest of the phone feels very well built.

The 5.2in screen is excellent. It has a 1080p resolution, a density of 423 pixels per inch and is pin sharp. The Galaxy S6’s 5.1in 2K display with 577ppi is technically sharper, but it is very difficult to spot the difference at that size of screen.

The Nexus 5X is one of the first smartphones available running Google’s latest version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There are no software features that are unique to the Nexus 5X beyond the Nexus Camera and Nexus Imprint fingerprint scanner. Marshmallow runs smoothly, is well optimised and feels as if it was designed for the Nexus 5X, which it was.

ZTE Blade S7 - 3GB RAM - Specifications and Price

ZTE has announced quite a few interesting smartphones this year. The company has released their Zmax 2 4G LTE and also unveiled a number of ‘Axon devices' which are quite unique and compelling as well. ZTE tends to announce a ton of mid-rangers a year as well, and one such device has been announced recently and is already available for pre-order in this month of October.

ZTE Blade S7 is the new smartphone by ZTE. This smartphone is a part of the company’s mid-range ‘Blade’ line, and it’s quite interesting. Samsung Galaxy S7 Coming in January - Specifications

Samsung Galaxy S7 release date has been Leaked as confirmed by Samsung Electronics, with latest reports suggesting the handset will be formally unveiled in January. Samsung Electronics announced that in January 19, 2016 they will be announcing the next flagship model the Galaxy S7. The claims, made by the Electronic Times in Samsung's native Korea, cite supply chain sources and industry insiders in predicting this early unveil.

Compared to the previous Galaxy S Series models where announcements and releases are often done around March or April, the Galaxy S7 on the other hand might come out earlier than usual. As Samsung has yet to formally comment on the mooted Galaxy S7, or its potential arrival, however, we'd suggest taking these claims with a pinch of salt for now.

Expected to run a new, 3D Touch-inspired pressure sensitive display, the S7 has been rumoured to feature an improved camera and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Samsung will release 2 variants for the S7; "Premium" and "Sub-Premium". The S7 "Premium" will be powered by Samsung Electronics own modem and AP in one, the "Exynos M1", but the S7 "Sub-Premium" won’t be getting the same. It is also expected to come with a 4GB RAM (if not more) and no doubt runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A dual camera and internal memory of 64GB - 128GB.

In addition, rumors have already circulated about two different versions of the Galaxy S7 that are currently being tested. One has a 5.2-inch screen, and the other carries a 5.8-inch display.

How To Know Which Apps Are Consuming Your iPhone's Battery - How To Stop Them

Recently, many iPhone users are complaining bitterly about how their iPhone battery run low within a very short period. If, like every single iPhone user in the world, you also find your phone's battery running low sooner than you would like it to, then iOS9 gives you a way to make it last longer. In addition to Facebook, many other apps - such as news apps, weather apps and/or other social media platforms also drain battery a lot.

What Can You Do?
In order to make your battery last longer, you may need to turn Low Power Mode on. Besides this, it turns background app refresh off, meaning the constant updating doesn't eat up your battery or data.

However, by stopping background App Refresh, messaging or mail apps can be delayed. You might not mind missing yet another Facebook notification, but you'll probably want to keep up with your emails and WhatsApp messages.

To tailor which apps refresh, you need to go to Settings>General>Background App Refresh. Using the switches, you can choose which apps refresh in the background - so you might possibly want to turn Facebook off, but keep Snapchat and Gmail on, so you won't miss important mails.

The new iOS9 battery features are basically the same as what Android phones have been doing for years. Nonetheless, it's a nice feature, and you'll feel grateful for the few extra hours of battery life the customisation gives you.
