Here's a post on the lipstick that I'm currently using more often, it's the Lotus Herbals Floral Stay Lipstick-411 Rose mary.

Directions For Use: Fill lips with color, working from the corner of the mouth towards the middle. Use a lip liner that is closest in shade to the lipstick color.

Price: Rs.345 for 3.4g

My thoughts: "Rose Mary" is like light Wine/Maroon shade with brown undertones, it's a matte lipstick. This comes in a classy case, the bullet is thin & delicate.Every time I apply this I have a feeling that it might break so I apply it very carefully with a light hand.

Color & Pigmentation: This color would be suitable for cool & neutral undertones. The pigmentation is medium to buildable, I need to swipe it 2-3 times to get a nice color on the lips.

Texture & Moisturization: It doesn't provide any moisturization since it's a completely matte lipstick, non shimmery & frost free. Had they claimed about the moisturization, I would have been upset because this shade is definitely not moisturising.

Fragrance: The fragrance is very mild & floral & fades away soon.

Staying Power: This stays on me for 3-4 hours without food or drinks. Sadly this fades unevenly after a full meal, however I still like the tint it leaves behind & thankfully this shade doesn't make the fine lines prominent.

Claims: It isn't kiss proof, transferable to glasses too & doesn't provide long wear. Complete list of ingredients missing.

Adore or Abhor it? Though this has 3-4 hours stay on me, I still like this lipstick because it suits my cool to neutral undertones & brightens my face. You can apply it little light for day wear & for night time you can swipe it 2-3 times to get a deep pigmented color.Pair this with neutrals to make your lips the star attraction!

Lanikai Orchid Vanilla Sea Salt Body Scrub

I have been using the Lanikai Orchid Vanilla Sea Salt Body Scrub for a long time & thought this is the right time to review it.

According to Lanikai Bath & Body Works: The nurturing Orchid Vanilla Sea Salt Body Scrub is made of oils from Hawaii Kukui & Macadamia Nuts,giving your skin a soft & polished glow.

Ingredients: Hawaiian Sea Salt, Maui turbinado Sugar, saflower Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E, Botanical Fragrance.

Free of animal ingredients & not tested on animals!

Word of caution: Don't use the scrub on face, sunburned, sensitive skin, open wounds or after shaving.

Price: $20 for 336 ml.( 12 o.z)

My Experience:

Packaging: The scrub comes in a plastic sturdy see through jar, have dropped it so many times but it hasn't damaged the jar.

Color & Texture: It's off-white in color & the texture is light & not too oily or not too thick.

Fragrance: The scrub smells fruity & isn't too overpowering! I have the opened the lid so many times to sniff it but it still retains the same fragrance from the beginning.

Ingredients: All the ingredients are natural.

Scrubbing & Moisturisation: The scrub is very effective in removing the dead skin & making it look soft & nourished. The granules aren't too abrasive! I have sensitive skin & noticed that if I scrub it with a heavy hand my skin becomes slightly red for a few seconds, so it better to scrub gently.

Final word: I like this scrub a lot, there isn't anything to dislike about it except for the fact that it comes in a jar & you have to dig your fingers in it to get the scrub out. It is a wonderful scrub with a pleasant fragrance that scrubs away the dead cells & makes my skin soft & supple. Though it has natural oils, it isn't greasy & gets rinsed off easily. The fragrance lasts for a few hours & I don't even need to use a moisturiser after using this because it hydrates the skin & doesn't dry out. All in all it makes the bath an uplifting experience.

According to the company: This soothing lotion with Lavender and Mint, moisturizes aching legs and feet, softening dry skin on tough soles and heels. Tea tree oil helps soothe and relax tired feet while the smell of fresh lavender and mint provide an uplifting aroma-therapeutic experience.

Directions: Massage on feet, focusing on heels and rough areas.

1. Softens the skin.

2. Very light in texture & gets easily absorbed.

5. It's huge 150ml tube, will last for atleast a month or two.

6. Decently priced.

Reasons to abhor this:
1. Though it claims it softens the dry skin on tough soles & heels, it hasn't done anything to my soles & heels. It just moisturizes the skin that's it!

Final word: I thought this would moisturize & soften my heels but it doesn't deliver what it claims!

Will I repurchase? No! I like the Oriflame foot cream over this!

These some minor issues that the technical team at medplusbeauty.com can take care of.

3. Suggest to get more affordable international brands which we don't have access to, though they already have got NYX but we greedy girls need more ;-)

The product review is based on my Sister-in- Law's experience. Hope my post helps someone who is looking for such a basket with all those essential items for baby care.

The contents of the Himalaya Baby Care Gift Basket are

1. Himalaya Moisturising Baby soap(115g): Mild and soothing soap that replenishes lost moisture while cleansing baby's skin gently. Enriched with Olive oil, which is rich in Vitamin A and E, and Almond that moisturizes the skin and is an excellent source of Vitamin D.

Ingredients Include:
Olive Oil (Olea europaea)
Almond (Prunus amygdalus)

The Almond Oil in the soap makes the skin super soft & moisturised, Olive Oil makes the skin healthy & hydrated. My Sister-in- Law liked this so much that she got a replacement as soon as she finished the soap from the basket. She says the soap doesn't dry-out the baby skin, it lasts long because it doesn't get soggy at all. It has a mild fragrance, smells like any other regular baby soap, as soon as my niece comes out of the bathroom I can sense a mild fragrance which isn't too-overwhelming. A baby's skin is very delicate, any product which is scented may harm the skin, since this is mild it works for my niece.

2. Himalaya Gentle Baby Shampoo(200ml): A specially formulated mild shampoo that gently cleanses the hair making it soft, shiny and easy to manage. Does not cause tears in the babies. Hibiscus extract softens, conditions the hair, natural proteins from Chickpea give shine and healthy shaft, and Khus-Khus cools the scalp.

Ingredients Include:

Rice (Oryza sativa)

Bengal gram (Cicer arietinum)

Shoe-Flower (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)

Vetiver, Khas-Khas (Vetiveria zizanioides)

Sometimes I bathe my niece & have noticed that only a dime size amount is good enough to wash her hair. It lathers well enough & rinses out easily & since it has all the natural ingredients, isn't too scented. Also, noticed it doesn't cause any irritation or tears. The 200ml bottle in the basket will last for at least 2-3 months. A definite repurchase!

3. Himalaya Baby Lotion(200ml): A gentle lotion specially formulated to restore the tender skin's natural beauty, leaving the skin soft and supple. It is enriched with Almond oil that restores skin moisture, Olive oil, which improves skin lustre, and Yashtimadhu and Country mallow, which soothe the skin.

Ingredients Include:

Country Mallow (Sida cordifolia)

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)

Tinospora Gulancha (Tinospora cordifolia)

Olive Oil (Olea europaea)

Almond (Prunus amygdalus)

My Niece's skin is extremely dry & as soon as she finishes her bath, the lotion is applied to lock in moisture & it does deliver what it claims. It provides deep nourishment & keep her skin soft & supple, however the smell is too over-powering for a kid. This is one of the products from the basket that is too scented. I don't think my Sister-in-Law will repurchase this because products with strong fragrance don't suit her baby.

Himalaya Baby Cream(50ml): A specially formulated soft cream for dry cheeks, tender nose, rubbed elbows and knees. Olive oil, enriched with Vitamin E ensures that your baby's skin is healthy and lustrous. Country mallow, an antioxidant and Yashti madhu protect and soothe your baby's skin.

Ingredients Include:

Country Mallow (Sida cordifolia)

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)

Tinospora Gulancha (Tinospora cordifolia)

Olive Oil (Olea europaea)

This is also has a mild fragrance & does its job well. You would just need 2-3 tiny dots for the entire face, can be used either during the day or night, however it is advised avoid the area around the eyes. It definitely worth the penny.

Himalaya Baby Powder(200g): A specially formulated cooling talcum powder that helps in excess sweating and relieving itching on the baby's tender skin, besides controlling the body odour. The baby powder contains natural zinc that has antiseptic properties and accelerates healing, sandalwood extract that cools and Olive oil that nourishes the baby's tender skin.

Ingredients Include:

Zinc calx (Yashad bhasma)

Sandalwood (Santalum album)

Vetiver, Khas-Khas (Vetiveria zizanioides)

Olive Oil (Olea europaea)

This is my favourite among the products in the basket, it smell so nice & not too-overpowering I guess because of the presence of Khas Khas which is know to provide cooling effect, my Sister-in-Law usually uses this when changing nappies or after bath. More than the baby her aunt( me :-) ) loves it a lot. Though it's huge 200g pack, definitely repurchasing it once it gets over.

Himalaya Diaper Rash Cream(20g): A specially formulated mild cream that treats rashes, inflammation and irritation caused due to rubbing of diapers against baby’s soft skin. Five-leaved chaste tree extract relieves pain, Zinc calx aids in healing the rashes, Aloe vera and Almond oil soothe the skin.

Ingredients Include:

Zinc calx (Yashad bhasma)

Barbados Aloe (Aloe Vera)

Almond (Prunus amygdalus)

Five-Leaved Chaste Tree (Vitex negundo)

Indian Madder (Rubia cordifolia)

My niece or for that matter any other baby doesn't like to be in nappies for longer duration, kids sometimes develop nappy rash & this rash cream works well in treating that. The cream smell like an Ayurvedic cream & is mild on the skin. It takes care of the rash & keeps the skin hydrated & free from irritation. This is definitely a must have for babies.

Himalaya Gentle Baby Wipes(72s): Made with hypoallergenic formula and containing natural ingredients like Aloe Vera and Indian Lotus, the wipes are the ideal choice for cleansing babies' delicate skin. The wipes gently clean and moisturize a baby's skin, and are pleasantly scented.

Aloe vera (Barbados Aloe)

Indian Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera)

These are gentle wipes to clean babies, they have mild fragrance & are very soft to use. They are very handy & can be carried by moms in their mommy bags to use anytime anywhere! I observed that over a period of time, the sticker that has to be peeled to get the wipes out, doesn't work & the wipes start getting dry. It is a must have in a mommy's bag.

Final Word: This is a very useful gift for a baby & the mother, it has all things that a baby needs! A perfect gift when you are in a hurry & can't pick any other item like clothes or baby bed sets because you don't have to look through so many things to find the color or quality you want, you just have to go to the nearest super market & grab it. I had been waiting for this sale for a long time because I wanted to pick stuff from the NYX sale & few days before the sale I realized I would be leaving the town on the same day when the sale would be up, but to my utter surprise I found out that it was going to be live at 12:00 clock in the night on 21st December. So like a crazy Harry Potter Fan queuing at the book store or a techno geek standing at Apple store to get an Iphone, I was waiting for the clock to tick 12! And I'm glad I did that because I grabbed the NYX Soft Matt Lip cream Sao Paulo & now I see it's Sold out! Alright I'll get down to writing my experience shopping with stylecraze.com

Customer Service: As soon I finished placing my order, I received my email about the order confirmation. Once the products are packaged & shipped an email is sent with the docket no & other tracking details. They are planning to introduce SMS confirmation of the order & shipping very soon.

Hello Beauties, In the month of September Lotus Herbals introduced 5 hot new glossy shades of Red, Pink, Peach,& Purple in the Seduction Botanical Tinted Lip gloss. I received this long time back along with Moist Petals Lipstick in Red Rover, review here but had been avoiding using it for the mere reason that I'm not much of a lipgloss person, so I though it's high time I use it & review the same.

Description/Claim by Lotus Herbals: Lotus Herbals SEDUCTION™ is a lustrous lip gloss which has a unique non-sticky & high sheen formula. It contains botanical extracts of Grapes & Jojoba that keep your lips soft & moisturized all day long. This premium innovative lip gloss is 100% vegetarian & free of animal products, making it absolutely safe. Its easy grip brush applicator ensures precise & accurate application on your lips. In addition, its long & soft bristles allow you to use the lip gloss as a top coat without affecting your lip color.

Price: Rs. 225 INR for 5ml.

Shades: 15 shades are available, of which 5 new shades are Lychee Squash(40), Strawberry Punch 41, Sappy Watermelon(42), WinterBerry Crush(43), Passion Fruit Splash(48).

My Experience: I just wanted to put my experience in points, so here it is

Packaging: The gloss comes in a see through transparent plastic sturdy tube, the small micro shimmer is very obvious from the tube. The sponge tip applicator provides ease of application, I personally don't like the brush applicator for lipglosses.

Fragrance: It smells like some kind of talc I have used, it isn't over-whelming, it fades away as soon as you apply & doesn't bother at all!

Texture: The gloss isn't gloppy or sticky & doesn't make the lips feel heavy unlike most of the lipglosses. It's very true to the claim that it's hydrating & provides a nice sheen. It has lots of micro multicolored shimmer which isn't coarse or granular.

Shade: The shade is like light salmon pink or bisque with lots of shimmer with brown undertones.This shade works best on top of a lipstick & would suit for festive make up looks.

Pigmentation: This doesn't look great on my pigmented bare lips if used alone, I usually use it over a lipstick I think the darker shades from this range look more pigmented.

Staying Power: The staying power of this lipgloss isn't that great, it stays for not more than 2-3 hours like most of the lipglosses however it leaves behind a slight tint with shimmer.

Final Word: This one of the best lipglosses I have ever tried, looks beautiful with festive eye makeup, I like the lipstick Red Rover more than this!

Honestly I have never cared to understand how these hand made soaps are different from the regular synthetic soaps. But after using this hand-made soap,I would say kudos to those people who put in so much effort to make these soaps.

So here's my experience using the handmade soap with the Guava scent.

What does the Lanikai group say about these handmade soaps: "Our Lanikai Bath and Body soap bars are handmade from scratch using the 'cold-process' method. Scented using only pure, aromatherapy grade essential oils. 100% natural. The gentlest, silkiest soap. In the most amazing Hawaiian scents"

Price: $6.50 for 4o.z Bar..

My Experience:
1. Colour: The color of the soap is like a combination of ripe & unripe guava & looks yumm!

2. Fragrance: Indeed, the soap smells like guava & isn't too overwhelming, it has this natural smell of guava that makes you feel like eating it :) The smell makes the bath an uplifting experience, unlike most synthetic soaps it doesn't make me sneeze because of the strong fragrance. The fragrance doesn't last for long, it stays good for 2-3 hours & I'm Ok with that because synthetic soaps do have a smell that stays longer because of the presence of chemicals & these homemade soaps are all natural without any chemicals.

3. Ingredients: These soaps are "Au Naturel"! These soaps are free from chemicals, parabens, sulphates(SLS), Alcohol, Animal Fat. They are hypoallergenic(meaning less likely to cause allergy), they include infusions of locally harvested flowers, herbs & oils. These are naturally Anti-Bacterial because of large concentrations of Coconut Oil & has Olive Oil which is rich in Vitamin E &other nutrients. The soaps are Bio-degradable.

4. Texture &Moisturization: The soap lathers & cleanses pretty well & rinses off easily & doesn't become soggy at all ( I thought it would become mushy but it didn't). It moisturizes well & doesn't make my skin dry, & like the Lanikai group claims it is indeed a gentle & silky soap.

5. Shipping: They ship anywhere in the world and are known for our beautiful gift wrapping (free!)- ideal for all occasions. They use USPS Flat Rate shipping, so it makes their shipping costs very reasonable.

Would I recommend this? Yeah definitely!

Hello Beauties,

I got these Shifei Deep Cleansing Nose Strips on my recent visit to a local beauty store & have been using them for a while so here's my take on the nose strips.

These nose strips are manufactured by a Chinese company called Guangzhou Shifei Cosmetics Co., Ltd which is a specialized cosmetic company which develops, produces, and sells professional skin care products.

What does the company claim about the nose strips: Shifei Nose Pore strips offer you a one step solution to help remove blackheads & unclog pores.

Price: Rs.90 INR for 10 Nose strips.

Ingredients:

My Experience using these strips: These strips are very easy to use, the pack has all the instructions listed on it, it's just like using the wax strips, you just need to peel off the strip, apply it on wet nose & wait for 10-15 minutes & peel it off. Everytime I have used these strips, I observed that most of the black as well as white heads come off, though there are few which are left behind. This works best after you have bath. I have attached a few pictures after the strip is peeled off.

Final Word: Although these don't completely remove all the black & white heads but I'm still happy using these because these are much better than the Biore nose strips that I have tried & are also less expensive when compared with Biore( Biore is Rs.35 for 1 strip & this is Rs.9 approximately). I'm definitely going to repurchase this until I find something that works better than these.

P.S Do you girls also sneeze when you peel off the nose strip! Yeah I do ;-)
