Quiet Night

Today was the last day Penny and I could play together for a little while. Her humans came to bring her home. No more sleepovers, but wow did we have FUN!!! Playing in the woods, wrestling on the porch, chasing the big dogs around, watching broken ice cubes fall from over our heads... I wonder how my human got all that ice from inside the big silver box to outside...

These two were from today. She didn't take too many photos because she had to go somewhere and our other human watched us. He doesnt take photos of us much. He would rather play.

But OH did we have FUN last night!!! hehehehehe we sat with our human in HIS chair and watched TV, sort of. We play mouthed for a little, then I got down and sat with my other human, and then wanted to sit with Penny again on her blanket with my other human.

Then my other human thought it would be nice to give us each our own seperate bone to chew on to keep us from messing with eathother. Yah... No... That didn't work...

Mine! No, Mine! Give it up! No, It's MINE! She gave it to ME!

So I think my human thought to quiet the squabbeling and gave Penny a bone that I just got. I said it was OK to share it with her...Hehehe... Our other human has a sense of humor... Penny... Not so much...

We love you Penny.... Sorry for making you look silly.

In the end I let her have my bone and we finished watching TV... I miss you already Penny... who else am I going to play with now.... The big dogs are boring and my humans don't play like we do... I hope to see you again soon!

GUESS WHAT!!!

A couple of days ago, Benji's parents came by to visit and when they left they forgot to take Benji with them. ...wait... I should call her Penny. That's her name now... PENNY is here for a few days my human said. YAY!! SLEEPOVER!!!!

We have been having a BLAST! It's like we were really little all over again.

We played in the woods....

Then the next day we played in the house and on the deck because it was raining outside but still warm and my human didn't want us to catch cold for being wet... Umm... Human... I have FUR... I don't get cold as quick as you do... But I love you anyway!

Then today we went to the dog park (woo hoo!) and got to play with Max, the West Highland White Terrier (he was fun), Bunny, the Miniture Pinture, (he was a boy and his owner a little odd. We didnt play with him) Baby Girl, the dachound mix and Emma, the parti-colored Cocker Spaniel (that means 2 colors where one is white.... I learned that from the dog show. hehehe) Oh yah... that REALLY BIG white dog... in the middle photo on the bottom??? That's Avalanche. He is a Great Pyranese and a little grouchy. He said that he was our size when he was 8 weeks old!!! Now that he's all grown, he says his hips hurt a lot these days... he's really old... like 8 or something. (I'm not even 1) I asked him if we could play together and he said I was still too little and I might get hurt. He said he's clumbsy sometimes and didn't want to trip on me... his hips hurt these days you know. I really want to get big soon...

My other human kept trying to get Penny to get a stick, but I got in the way and tried to take it instead... in the end, he said she was visiting and she should get the stick.... is that part of having maners too??? I don't like that part. We were there for a really really long time, but it was warm so we didn't mind. We had fun playing with our new friends!

My human got a special letter from Scrappy's mom today!!! YAY! I have been thinking about him because we used to play together. She said has a big personality, is smart and is sneaky too... I wonder what she means by that. She says he's "A wide open pup". Thats good! Right? Means he's getting love and the right kind of food! Way to go supper scrappy! Scrappy power! (That's from Scooby-Doo... Scrappy... his son... remember??? Thats how he got his name here in the pen... Hehehe... My human told me that.)

Snowy 13.5 weeks old

"Obedience training is one of the most important things you can do with your puppy"

My human says this all the time. Why? If you ask me, I don't know yet. I'm just little, but SHE says its so when we go places, I'll be nice and mind my maners. I'm not sure what that means yet, so I asked.

What does "mind your manners" mean? She says it means a lot of things.

She has a list of what maners are... she always has a list...

When I walk nice on my leash next to her and not to pull.
Its to sit when a car (I know what those are now!) comes down the road so the human inside knows I wont run inn front of it.
Its when I sit for a treat and take it nicely and not to grab. (I don't get the treat if I grab)
When we are out away from home and the park, and when I meet new humans, I don't jump. I sit nicely and wait for them to say hello to me first.
I come when I'm called.
When humans come into my house I stay away from the door and wait for them to come in.
When I meet new dogs when on our walk I don't jump all over them or bark, I sniff nicely and say "Hello to you, I'm Snowy, What is your name?"
It's to stay in my own yard and not run away.
Its to stand nicely when I'm in my tubby and being brushed. (I like tubbies and being brushed)

yes... There's more... Ugh... she always has more...

Its when I am asked to stay out of the room she uses to make really neat smells in
It's to keep my paws off the counter and the table. :(
It's when we go to see the doctors that I'm brave and I don't fidget when he looks at me.
Its when I let my human or anyone else take away a treat or toy that I really want to keep. (I know I'll get it back)
I won't wiggle when being picked up.
I sit nicely and wait for her to ask me to come out of my den (crate) and don't paw at the door.

She says this is the big one... When I'm ready, I'm going to have to take a big test that shows other humans I can do all these things and more. I'm going to be a S.T.A.R. puppy! What is that??? HA! I'm glad you asked. My human says that all this work is to get me and my litter mates ready for the test. She put a link up... it's HERE. Suki has her CGC title... that's Canine Good Citizen. She took a really really hard test in front of lots of humans and other dogs. The AKC humans gave her a medal and paper that says she's a very good dog. I want to take that test, but my human says I have to take this one first. When I'm still little THEN I can take the big dog test.

And for our humans... She came across this poster on YOUR manners towards US. hehehe... finally!!

Humans - Mind your manners towards dogs

So My human took some photos after our class yesterday. The only one who was there was Deacon. (Sherlock) He did very good. He's gotten very handsome! He's getting big and his brown is very shiny.

His human is holding him... He just moved close to the park so I get to see him all the time! He says he's happy with his home and Kayak is his friend. When he first came Kayak told him not to be afraid and that he would keep him company.

So we "caught up" and played! A lot...

Puppy Update: Patches, Benji & Sherlock

Hay you guys! This is Snowy... I have some really cool news for you! I've been told all sorts of things about Benji, now Penny and Patches... I think her new humans kept her name, and Sherlock, now Deacon... but anyway I HAD to post some new photos for you! Both their families have been awesome with sending photos and updates. THANK YOU!!! So here they are!

Patches:

These are three of the photos Patches humans sent to us. The middle one was the first day she got to her new home. She's spoiled like me and gets to sit with her humans on the couch! The other two are of some of her playmates. The Golden is still a puppy too... he's a little older than one I think. I don't know how old the cat is, but I hear they are all getting along just fine!

Benji: (Penny)

This is Benji now... She's getting really big! I get to see her a lot because my human is teaching her humans how to teach her manners. She's super spoiled and gets to go to a place where she can play all day with other puppies! She calls it Daycare. Must be fun! She says she's very tired from playing when she goes home. She's pretty lucky. She had to go to the Doctors the other day because she had too much fun and missed her nap... She's ok now though and found she can fit in her green bed under the table. I get to see her for a few days soon because she's coming here to visit! Her humans are going away and we're having a sleepover!!!!! YAY!!!

Sherlock: (Deacon)

This is Sherlock getting all big and handsome! (He's the black one) His pal is Kodak. When his human came to pick out one of us, he brought Kodak with him. Sherlock wanted to play with those two and not us, so that's how he got his home. I was told that his humans litter mate will be bringing him to teach manners too! YAY! How wonderful!

When I have more information I will defiantly get my human to write about it for me!

Patches gets ready to go home

PATCHES

Hello there! Patches here... I asked my human if she could write something about me before I left for my new home. I really wanted to stay here, but some humans came to visit and they really liked me! I thought they smelled good too. They have other dogs... I could smell that... I have a good nose. I'm going to miss my humans here because they have taught me to be brave! I don't bite hard, I can sit, I go potty outside...mostly, I sometimes have mistakes when I drink too much water, and I behave when I take warm baths.

That's me snuggeling with Snowy. I'm telling her that she will be OK without me and not to cry too much. Thats also me as a newborn. I was so tiny! I was smaller than the thing my humans point at the big thing with moving pictures. I grew really fast! I'm 12 weeks old now and I've been told that I'm 20 pounds! HA! I'm not only brave but I'm BIG too! At least I think I'm big...am I big yet?

These are me too! My human says I was only 11 days old here. See there? I'm on my blue blanket with Weezer, he's the black one... Dot, She's the tan one... and Smudges, She's the other wite one. She got freckles like me but only on her face, I have spots all over! Little humans say I'm a firehouse dog... whats a firehouse dog? Sounds important. I wonder if I AM a firehouse dog?!?! How exciting! yes, I think I will be a firehouse dog when I grow up! I hope my new humans want me to be one. Firehouse dogs are BRAVE, and I'm VERY BRAVE! I'm not afraid of anything! Not even the big gray dog next door. He's really grouchy because he's jealous. He can't come inside. His house is outside and he has to stay in his yard. He barks at me and I bark right back! HA!

So I wanted to say good-bye to all the humans that read this. I'm glad you were here to watch me grow! Snowy and I were out exploring and we went too far away... My human wasn't mad, but she brought Suki our to come get us. I hope my new home lets me explore with their other dogs!

Family Reunion

Hello there! Patches here and BOY do I have a story for you today!!! My stories are GREAT!!!

We were going for a ride today... together... how odd. We always go seperately. Anyway... it was ok, I liked the company. Snowy knew where we were going and said she liked it there. She said it was really big and lots of room to run and play... no streams though. She was sad about that but I really don't like getting wet so I was ok with the idea. First, when we arrived Snowy and I had a quick day at school. We learned "Come" and "Sit". I already know this and showed off. Then... THEN.... wow! It was Benji!!!! YAY!!!!!!! Her parents came for a visit! oh wow! I was SO happy to see her! She's getting big like me! We didn't talk much because we had class again... I showed her all the things I knew, and she showed me things I couldn't do yet. She's SO smart! Her new name is Penny so I'll call her that from now on.

After class we all went into this really big place. This must have been what Snowy was talking about. There were lots of other dogs and their humans here too! Some were nice, some not so much, and others just wanted to stay with their humans.

There was this little human... there were a lot of them... he was nice... he kicked the leaves and snowy and I played in them. He was quiet when some of the others wanted to pick us up a lot. I was good and let them. We couldn't play with the real big dogs because we were still little, but that's OK... I didn't want to get stepped on. We were the biggest dogs in this area so I was the one who had to be careful.

Oh! Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!!! AUTUMN!!! Her new owner came by too! WOW! What fun! She had so many stories to tell me. She went home only a few days ago but wow the stories! She said she plays with balls and gets to sleep on her humans bed. She sleeps in her own box all by herself and has been very good for him. She showed me these round hard things. There were lots and lots. They all smelled different and they were cold. Perfect for chewing on! After playtime was over we were all really tired. Our humans took us back for the ride home, but we didn't go home... My humans didn't have food before they left like we did... when we got there they put all of us together... one of my humans too... she let us snuggle and nap next to her. Wow what a day! I had so much fun! I'm Pooped!

Snowy goes to the Vet

Hey there! Snowy here. The other day I wasn't feeling too well... it felt like I had to "go" all the time... My human was worried about me and kept me away from Patches and Autumn since they were being a little too rough for me when they played. I slept a lot, but never lost my appetite and drank lots of water, but it still felt like I had to "GO"... ohhh... I really wasn't feeling well....

That night my human gave me a shot of something that I really didn't like. I yelped a little but I was brave. It wasn't like the other shots, this was on my bum! I suppose it was worth it because I got to sleep in a BIG blanket in the kennel by myself. I was so comfy. See there??? on the door? That's my new toy. MY new toy. No one else gets to play with it...Aaand... I have a new collar. See there? It's brown and from the AKC...That's where the purebred dogs go.

My human is so good to me she knew exactly what was wrong with me, but to be sure, in the morning we took a ride to a strange smelling place. Not like the other place I went to with all the humans and other dogs and things, but this place was weird. I'm not sure I liked it, but my human wasn't worried so that made me feel better... She gave me another shot before we left... hmmph... I'm not liking shots... The humans that were there were really nice. One smelled really good! Like treats and stuff! The other... not so much. She smelled like too many smells, it made me dizzy.

This human was the one who looked at me and the other photo was where my human and I got to play in before he came in through that door. We waited a long time, so my human sat on the floor with me and we took a nap. Really... I did!

When he came in, he and my human talked to each other for a little and he felt my tummy... hehehe! It tickled! I liked his hand to say it was OK and he looked in my ears and mouth. Why did he do that? All I could understand was "Good". I guess I'm OK? I still feel bad, but not as bad as the day before. My human seemed ok and we left... how strange. I was still so tired, I fell asleep in my basket on the way home.

So that was my day yesterday... Today I got another shot... Really?? I feel fine now... I can potty just fine and I'm ready to play! I don't want another shot.

See??? I can play... That's me chasing Patches who's chasing Autumn... She's super fast and I have a hard time keeping up with her. The next photo is me sliding down the hill. I LOVE sliding! Patches is at the bottom first. She cheated though and didn't go all the way up. And SEE... the bottom photo is me after Patches pushed me into the water.. no, actually, I fell in by myself. I was clumbsy. I slipped.

Autumn wants to write a post...

Hey there, I'm Autumn, but most of you already know that. I asked my human if she would write something about me today. Hay... Did you know that if you click on the little photos, a window pops up with really big ones? My human showed this to me the other day when I said I couldn't see myself. You see, I move a lot and it's hard to get any type of photo of me.

I DO love to run really fast! I zoom everywhere and I leap like a gazelle...that's what my human says, but I don't know what that is... She says to take her word on it. OK (grin) I love the woods and after a little bit, I like car rides. I love when people come to pet me, and I'm a fast learner. I come when called and try to do all my business outside, but show me where the papers are just in case. I can hold my potty for 2 hours while I'm playing, but when I wake up from a nap, I really have to go! My human is so cool, she takes us outside right when we wake up and we're supposed to potty there.

If you've seen some of the video's you know I can run really really really fast! Maybe a game of flyball is good for me? I think I can keep up with those super fast Border Collies! I love to play inside and because of my sleek coat I get chilly easy... Maybe my new owners will put one of those really neat coats on me when I get big? That would be really cool!

I'm a little shy when it comes to seeing new things I haven't seen before... like when I was going to the big place that smelled like lots of dogs and things, I was a little scared at first, but then I was OK. If my new owners bring me to lots of places that are new I will be brave all the time.

Some of my favoritest things to do other than running and leaping is hiking! I love to explore with my aunt Suki. She's a Japanese Akita you know... straight from Japan... no, not really, That was a fib. She's from a place called Georgia. Anyway. She's really patient with me, but doesn't like it when I get in her mouth. She growls and I settle down because I know what will happen next. She'll get really mad and growl even LOUDER! That's scary! She's good with all of us though and we love her so much!

Every night after supper I get to go into a quiet room all by myself away from Snowy and Patches and our human has a little bowl of FOOD! She says words that are hard to understand, but when I do something right I get a piece! This game is a lot of fun! I know what to do when I hear her say "off", "sit" and "touch"... that one was fun to learn. She said the word... her paw was held out and when I went to sniff I bumped into it and all of a sudden there was food in her other paw for me. Hmmm.... lets try this again... ok... Paw out... I hear the word "touch"... I bump my nose on it... and BAM! There's food from the other paw! How does she DO that?! This is FUN!

WHAT??? We aren't staying here??? hehehe... don't worry. I know. I'm patches and I'll answer your question today. My human said you asked what will happen to this blog once we all find homes... well... Snowy thinks she will carry it on, unless the perfect home comes along, she's going to stay here. Lucky dog! Benji (now Penny) and Sherlock (still Sherlock) live really close to the park we all go to so they will all be able to play together. I hope my new home is close too. I would love to see my brothers and sisters!

So I think our humans will have plenty of material to keep the blog going. Maybe not every day, but definatly two or three times a week.

10 week old puppies and PLAYTIME!

This was us this morning.... We got to play in the house for a while now that we can hold our potty better. My humans say 1 hour for every month we are old... yah. Thats about right. We look sweet and quiet, but thats only because our humans let us play as much as we want! Mostly outside where we can run and practice leaping and climbing. Speaking of which, Check out this latest video they made of us today. We get to play a lot outside, but each video shows us getting bigger and bigger!

We hope you like the video. No one has asked about adopting Autumn or Patches this week... It's nice to be with Snowy but we really would like our own space to explore and maybe meet up at the dog park??

After exploring with Suki, my mom's walking partner, we basked in the warm sun!

2 Puppies Left - Autumn and Patches

Hay there! This is Patches and Autumn! We are the last two puppies left in our litter... I wonder why? We are both full of character and fun. We come when we're called and our humans have been teaching us all sorts of things. We go potty outside as much as we can, but we're still puppies and do have accidents sometimes, but for the most part, our humans have been letting us run through the house. It was SO nice to fall asleep where they stay than in our big pen or in the kitchen.

Autumn: Independent and slightly submissive, Good with older (12+) children who know when to give her her space, but not for the beginner family with children that may force affection on her. She needs time to warm up to new situations, but when she does she will be a very loyal pet! In the litter: Shes lively and bouncy and is a big cuddler and will wag...wag...wag that super long tail of hers! She has a very girly figure compared to her litter mates. Sleek and refined all she wants to do is please you! Staying focused is her thing. She will sit for affection and is learning not to jump. She's fast at learning to lick fingers, but when she's super excited, she can forget.

Patches: She is a special dog that can be dominant if you let her and needs to have an experienced owner to help keep her great sweet personality out. She's loyal to those she trusts and has high activity level. Adult households only please for her as she may be too much for children or the elderly. She will be good for agility, field work or obedience. In the litter: Patches was the alpha female in the litter and is very adventurious. Happy to explore her surroundings and not wander too far away from you. She can be patient and wait her turn when it comes to feeding. Now that more puppies are leaving the litter, she has become very sweet and loving. She would much rather be with humans. She's turning into a big heartbreaker here in the house. She also knows how to sit and wait to be given kibble and to lick fingers instead of nibble. She's a special girl who's ideal home will be one where she is queen and there are no other pets or small children.

Patches goes to Petsmart

Hey there! Patches here! What a story I have for YOU today!!!

My day started with a bath... it was warm so I really didn't mind. I didn't know what was going to happen after that, but I DO know that every time one of us gets a bath by ourselves they disappear and never come back! I hope nothing bad happens to them, but there's talk in the pen that it's not good. I'll find out today though...yah... I'm a little scared, but my humans are with me so I think it'll be different than the rest of the pups as they don't leave with my humans.

So here I am... kinda cold outside but tucked into my humans jacket, we go to a bunch of places with really interesting smells. Then I have to go potty... bad.. I wriggle in my humans arms to let her know and thankfully she's smart and knows I have to go. She puts me down on some fantastic smelling grass and whats this??? **SNIFF** Mmmmmm..... Tasty (it was a french fry) and another!!! Wait! Wait! Wait!! My human took it out of my mouth!!! Awwwww... It's soooo good. Drat. I piddled and we went back to where we were before.

After a long drive I fell asleep for a while and then we were HERE!

This place smelled like... like WOW! So many different dogs! I was so excited I accidentally piddled a little in my humans arms. (Sorry) So many other humans too! They were all over the place. I have never seen so many, and little humans too. They all smelled so different. I was good and didn't wriggle too much, but the smells were amazing I couldn't help it for a while. After a little I got used to it and my humans took me to see something I have never seen before... Hmmm... they smell neat, but I'm not really sure what they are. They make noise like the things that fly outside, but they are inside. Hmmph.. oh well... next please...

I didn't get to walk on my own because I didn't have what all the other dogs had around their necks and then is attached to their humans. I wonder what that is... They don't seem to mind. Where's mine I wonder? Am I supposed to have that too? The photo below is like what I saw on them...sort of. This one is attached to her back, but I think you get the idea. I was told this breed could be what my daddy was. She is a purebred Pointer and she wasn't feeling good. She told me she was hit by a fast machine while she was out migrating, and then her back leg hurt really bad, She crawled into a hole to cry, but humans found her and are making her feel much better. We chatted for a while longer and she said that things will be OK for her, and for me not to be afraid of anything. (I AM brave you know) She also said that I look like her a little and if i have her breed in me, then I will be very smart and should stay out of the place where the big fast machines go. That's where she got hurt ya know. I licked her on her nose and we went away and left her with her humans. She was nice.

So we wandered around this really big place again and I was getting hot. I needed some water... Good thing my humans are observant that I was getting pink on my head. They found water for me and I had just a little, I didn't want to have an accident again. So THEN.... after THAT... we came to this place!

LOOK WHAT I HAVE!!!!! I have what all the other dogs had around their necks! I don't know what it's called, but it's kinda itchy. My humans put so many on me until they found this one. Yes... I'm pretty now. Other humans won't think I'm a HE. I love it! This is where the other puppies must go, but I didn't see any of them here. Maybe they already left.

So you think this is it? NOPE! I have more to tell. yes there's MORE! hehehehe... I said it was a good story.

So we walk around some more and I get petted a lot by so many kinds of humans. I wag my tail and lick their fingers (but don't bite.. that's a no no) I love all this attention! Everyone has a smile on their faces and are really happy to pat me. I am too! Then we go to this other human and she's in a box like what I have at my home... she's nice and my human puts me on the top of her box and shows me a bowl like what I have at home... Whats this? **Sniff** Ooooohh! This is new... there's just one in here, but **crunch** it's **crunch** really **crunch, crunch** really tasty. **crunch, crunch, crunch**

So I think that's all... We leave and get back in the truck. I'm sooo thankful for a familiar smell... I'm sooo sleepy. I was awake for a really long time. I think it's time for a nap with my new thing. Good night, and thank you for reading all about my adventure today!

9 week old English Pointer Labrador cross puppies at play

Hello there! Autumn here! At the end of the video, that's me running really fast! Today was colder than some of the other days, but we still get to go outside and play. At least it wasn't raining like last time. The nights make the water really really cold! This was how much fun we have in the backyard at our house! This was before our littermate Benji went home to her forever family, but guess what??? Our humans get to see her because they are going to teach her manners. She'll learn how to sit and stay and roll over and jump and play frizbee and flyball and agility and fetch and... and... and... Oops.. Sorry, I got carried away.

What type of dog?

Hay guys! This is Weezer here, My humans had an idea about what breed exactly we were and what some of our traits may be. Well... This is what they came up with. Since my mom was German Shorthair pointer mixed with something they knew we were going to look like her a little... HA! FOOLED YOU! We don't look anything like our mom, ok well maybe the ears. They aren't very long, which means we look like our dad a lot. There was more than one dad and we don't know who got who. We think he was a Lab (?) or an English Pointer, we thought a boxer, but our noses and body type aren't right.

Here's what I mean.... The above photos are of my mom and a German Shorthair Pointer. Yah, the purebreds are Champion dogs, but the resemblance is still there... a little.

The photos below is of me and a a purebred English Pointer. Yah, he's a Champion also, but still... the resemblance is still there... a little. lol It's because I'm sleeping... this other guy isn't. We have the same slightly upturned nose, and I'm getting big dog jowls! Yay!

My humans couldn't find any decent still photos of us trying to point. (our tails curl over) That is their task when it stops raining. Maybe tomorrow... The bottom photos are Patches and a Field Lab puppy.. See.. not so much, that's why I think we are mostly pointers. YAY US!

Litter update - Snowy

Hey there! I'm Snowy and its my turn to tell you all about ME!

I'm an extra special puppy! I have a different daddy then the rest of my litter and my coat is nice and thick! I was different since the day I was born. Every one else had single layer coats, I have two! I smile when you wrestle with me and I'm always the last one to go to sleep. I make sure everyone is sleeping and is OK before I shut my eyes... unless we've been running outside then I'm the first one asleep. I eat my food slowly so I don't get tummy aches and I always use the papers to go potty...unless they get moved from the usual spot and I can't find them.

I'm full of life and will always come when you call me. My humans laugh when I run by because I pant when I run. I think they think it's cute because they usually laugh when I run by. I'm very smart and sometimes think of better ways of doing the things you want me to do. I'm very alert and after my initial excitement to see you, I'm very lovable. I get extra excited and go overboard sometimes. I'm also going to be the smallest in the litter too. Maybe 30 pounds or so? I would do very well in a small house or apartment, but remember I need room to run and play while we are outside. Maybe you have a park like the one I was at today? We had LOTS of room to play!

My humans fell in love with me for my personality and my spunk. I am not afraid of any other dog. I want to be the center of attention! I'm just THAT cute! My one flaw right now that my humans are working with me on is that I nibble a little too hard, (I LOVE a good game of tug-of-war!) so a family with little children probably wouldn't be good for me.. I may accidentally hurt them, and I wouldn't want to hurt anyone. I am trying to get better though. Really, I am!

Hi! I'm Dot. Wanna know WHY I'm called Dot? Because when I was really little, my humans said all they needed to do to make me stop crying was place their finger on the dot on the top of my head and I would stop.... yah... kinda embarrassing, but cute the same.

My sister Benji and I are very close to each other. We were born one after another too! Number three and four in the litter. I'm

the oldest and take my big sister responsibilities very seriously. I protect her and I'm the first one to tell her she better not climb out of the box... She does anyway.

I'm a pup that loves to be the center of attention so if my new home has lots of oppurtunity for me to do that, that would be fantastic. During my temperament test, I was a little shy to the tester. She smelled like a lot of big dogs and I was a little nervous, but as I'm getting older I'm realizing that some things make me feel shy, but I get over them quickly and I'm OFF TO AN ADVENTURE!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

My humans say I need obedience training already since when I get onto a scent, I have GOT to follow it! They say that that may get me into trouble, but I think (and I'm probably right) that if I've got the right human, I could be a great field dog! I can even point...sorta. I'm working on it. My human says I need to stick my tail out a bit more, but I lift my paw really well and stand really still. Then I POUNCE! hehehe.

HI! I'm Benji (left) and I'm Dot (right) We're here to answer your question about how many puppies are available to go to good homes. Our sister Smudges went home just a little while ago and Sherlock will go home later today too. Scrappy is already at his new home and our humans say his new name is Moose. LOL That's a good name for him. He's completely adjusted and hasn't had one accident in his new house! He's so cool... Brenny, Aka. Mr. Brenny Waddlebutt, is also in his new home. His new human named him Brewster. After a scary 1st night alone, we were told that he's taking over the house now and isn't afraid of anything!

So lets see.... that leaves us, Weezer, Patches, Autumn and Snowy

Autumn: Independent and slightly submissive, Not for the beginner family with children that may force affection on her. Good with older children who know when to give her her space. She needs time to warm up to new situations, but when she does she will be a very loyal pet! In the litter: Shes lively and bouncy and is a big cuddler and will wag...wag...wag that super long tail of hers! She has a very girly figure compared to her litter mates. Sleek and refined all she wants to do is please you! She's learning how to sit quiet and take kibble from my fingers... it took her a few tries to stay focused and she would cheat sit. LOL

ADOPTED! Benji: Will accept humans easily and is good for the average home that may have children or for the elderly. She may be a clown and a little lively. She will be a good dog for obedience. In the litter: Benji is the escape artist out of her whelping box. We here a "Thump" and then she comes running over to you for lovings! She enjoys the company of humans. She's a little submissive in the litter and would rather be left alone to chew her bone. She'll also be one of the first to fall asleep on your feet as you stand at the sink and do the dishes. She was funny with the kibble from the fingers game. She kept sliding backwards on the floor, but she would sit and caught onto the game quickly. (Benji is going home on 1/12/12 Congratulations to her new parents!)

ADOPTED! Weezer: Weezer was tested 3 days later then the rest of the litter because he was sleeping the day of the test. Although he was a little hesitant at first, he warmed up to the tester after she snuggled with him for a minute, he accepts human leaders easily and is best suited for the average owner. He has good energy and will be good for agility and children. In the litter: Sometimes gets picked on because he was the runt who has grown up. We believe his father was a boxer where the rest of the litter are labs. He was really tiny when he was born and was given special attention to gain weight. Now that he's bigger he's "just one of the guys" and can hold his own against his sisters. Fearless of new things and an adventurer who is always willing to run back to you when you call; he's always good for a great laugh and looks for the nearest warm lap to curl into. He's a quick learner and cought onto the game of taking kibble from my fingers while sitting quite well. He's got a soft mouth which was nice. I get to keep my fingers.

ADOPTED! Snowy: She accepts humans easily but because of her smarts, her energy and tenacity she should be placed with an experienced owner to maintain her training and focus. In the litter: She is usually the last one to fall asleep and a bundle of fun! She is also one with a different daddy as her coat is more plush than the others. She has high energy and has a high prey drive and will do well in a dog experienced household with no small children as she may be "too much" for them. Because of her "no Fear" personality, she'll be great for obedience, flyball or agility. She's the smallest in the litter and smiles when you play with her. She's learning to sit and take kibble out of your fingers nicely... when my finger tips grow back we'll try this again. Yeow! I think we're going to teach bite control first.

ADOPTED! Dot: She is a submissive girl who will need tender handling and a structured environment to maintain her confidence. She takes time to get used to new environments but once she's adjusted she'll be lively and very loyal. In the litter: She's the snuggler of the litter and the most demanding for attention. Confident and relaxed she pushes to the front of the pack asking to be one of the first to be fed and pet. She's also close to her sister Benji and most times they will be snuggled together. The two of them are always on an adventure when they go outside! The ideal home will be for the average owner who will give her time to explore quietly on her own before truly showing her personality. She is turning out to be quite the clown. She was sleeping during the kibble game... we will play tomorrow.

Patches: She is a special dog that can be dominant if you let her and should have an experienced owner to bring her great sweet personality out. She's loyal to those she trusts and has high activity level. Adult households only please for her as she may be too much for children or the elderly. She gets pushed around still by her sisters and her brother, but she would much rather be with humans. She's turning into a big heartbreaker here in the house. She also knows how to sit and wait to be given kibble as well... after the initial "Oooh! you have food" excitement. She will wait patiently for the next kibble for about 3 seconds before getting antsy. Good Girl!

Litter update - Autumn

Hello there! My name is Autumn. I was the last in the litter to get a name because I didnt really show my personality until I got older. I was paper trained since I was 4 weeks old! So I'm super smart!

I'm a petite girl with a sleek all black body. Not like my brothers and sisters who are more heavy boned. I'm going to be a superstar! I've got long legs and a super glossy black coat with a white blaze that runs from my belly all the way to under my chin. I've got dainty ears and a nice pretty bark. No need for a big mean bark with me.

My temperament test said I was shy and that I shouldn't go to a home with small children who may want to pet me all the time, but I think I will do ok once I get used to them. My super long tail is ALWAYS wagging, It reminds my human of a glow stick with my white tip. hehehe... whats a glow stick? I'm such a happy puppy... Maybe I was feeling a little "Off" the day of the test . I like to play, but I'm not overly excitable. Loud noises and unfamiliar dogs will send me looking for my master, but if you tell me I'll be OK I'll get brave too! Maybe thats what they meant by shy.

As I get older my personality is being influenced by my surroundings, so if your brave and show me that it's no big deal, I'll be brave too! I'm much better once I warm up to you. The perfect home for me will be with a calm family or a family with other dogs I can connect with. I LOVE attention!

Litter update - Weezer

Hay there! I'm Weezer! Hehehe... I have a funny name and everyone seems to like it. I got it because I was number 8 puppy born and almost didn't make it. My mom was too tired and my human had to help me breath. I was weezing because I inhaled some fluid.That's why I have my name. Weezer! lol. I was the runt of the litter and had a hard time gaining weight. My humans didn't have to supplement me with extra milk, but they did make sure I fed more than the other pups so I could grow up strong!

I'm a funny guy and my humans think my daddy was a boxer, but I don't think so. I'm super fast at running and am a trickster. I love to play. I'm just like Superman's dog Krypto! Daring! Brave! and Courageous! Not to mention cute too! My weakness is Kibble!

I'm looking for a home that will allow me to continue to be goofy and to be a part of the whole family! I'm a quick learner and always potty on the papers. Today I was playing with my humans other two dogs and when one growled (she's old and grouchy) I jumped up and grabbed her tail! Weezer - 8 Weeks Old

Hello there! I'm Patches. I was lucky number 7 born in my litter. I don't know if you can say I'm lucky since I do get picked on a lot, but I 'm tough and can take it. The photo of me looking all wet is the day I was born. I was so tiny! My mom was really tired from whelping us already, if my human wasn't there I may not have lived, so yah, maybe I AM lucky!

Today two of my litter mates, my big white brother (Scrappy) and my other big brindle brother (Brenny) went away. I was told they went with their new humans to live with them. I'll miss having them around. When I found out, I gave Brenny my favorite toy, my Kangaroo, to keep with him to remember us when he gets lonely. My other brothers and sisters and I re-ordered our pack tonight. I got bit a few times but not badly.... So what can I tell you about me??? Well, I'm little and I was born almost pure white, except for my black patches. The spots started coming out when I was a week old. My coat is exceptionally soft and my humans say that I feel as soft as a Dalmatian. LOL my spots run only down my back and on my face. I do tend to eat a lot and because I was picked on, I felt I had to guard my food so one one else bullied me around. Now that we are all eating out of separate bowls I am learning that guarding my food is a no-no... It's not easy learning, but if Autumn can learn, by gosh so can I! My human is doing a great job with teaching me. I'm hoping that this won't keep me from being adopted. I really am a sweet puppy and love to sit in your lap when it's nap time. I even go on the papers every time!

UPDATE:1/4/12 - Patches is coming along nicely and is learning that no one will take her food away from her. She will sit nicely and take kibble from your hand and allow you to scratch behind her ears as she's eating without much growling. Way to go patches! Keep up the great work!

Temperment Test and Availability Update

People have been asking about the pups now that they are on Petfinder! Furbabies Rescue is so nice to put us all up there to help us find homes. Here's the link: Zoe's puppies on Petfinder There is a rehoming/adoption fee involved. It takes a lot of time and costs a lot of money to make sure we are all healthy! There are two costs you can pick from. 1.) $75.00 per pup and you bring him or her to your vet to be neutered, or 2.) $125.00 and my humans will register them to be neutered in April 22nd through the Lincoln County Humane society's spay/neuter program. They will pay for it and the responsibility is yours to bring this little bundle of fur there. Just note that if the pup is not checked in on the 22nd, the fee that has been paid will go to the Humane society as a donation. My humans won't get it back. So it's a win win situation. Everyone gets helped!

They will be ready to go to their new homes on January 2, so please spread the word and write to my humans at Zoe@dogomania.com for all the details. Thanks!

These little guys were born November 7th, 2011 and at 7 weeks old each pup was tested using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test today to see how their true temperaments are when exposed individually to strange things, surroundings and people. Wow! These guys did GREAT! Here are the results:

ADOPTED! Benji: Will accept humans easily and is good for the average home with children or the elderly. She may be a clown and a little lively. She will be a good dog for obedience. In the litter: Benji is the escape artist. She's a climber not a digger. She's a little submissive in the litter and would rather be left alone to chew her bone, but she's the first one to escape and wake the rest of the litter. She'll also be one of the first to fall asleep on your feet as you stand at the sink and do the dishes.

ADOPTED! Brenny: He'll be a good family dog and will adapt well to new situations. He'll be good with children and the elderly. He may be a clown and will be a lively fellow that will do well in obedience. In the litter: He was the "Watter Puppy" big and plump when he was born. Dubbed "Mr. Brenny Waddlebutt" because he was just a stocky mastiff looking pup. He's on of the thinkers in the litter and will not be afraid to use his strength to push objects out of the way so he can make the mad dash to freedom!

ADOPTED! Scrappy: Submissive and less outgoing than Brenny and Benji, but independent and will explore his surroundings on his own. He will adapt well to new households and will train well. He'll be good for the average owner. In the litter: Scrappy is mellow and docile. He has a "soft Mouth" and is patient. He doesn't cry a lot, but when he does you know it. He's submissive but loves a good game of tug-of-war with his litter mates. Independent and is usually sitting quiet at the back of the pack watching what goes on.

Patches: She is a special dog that is dominant and will need an experienced owner to bring her great personality out. She's loyal to those she trusts and has high activity level. We have been working with her food protection and she's coming along nicely. Adult households only for her as she may be too much for children or the elderly. She will be good for agility, field work or obedience. In the litter: Patches was the alpha female in the litter and is very adventurious. Happy to explore her surroundings. ADOPTED! Smudges: Like Patches, she is a dominant high energy dog but she is also interested in people. She will need an experienced family with older children to keep her busy. She will be good for agility and obedience and will be loyal, cuddly and friendly. In the litter: She's our resident "tattle-tale" She's the alarm clock for the rest of the litter. Most times she's sitting straight up in the middle of the sleeping pack and will bark at whomever walks by. She loves nothing more to let you know she's here and she sees you!

ADOPTED! Sherlock: He accepts humans eagerly and easily. He will be good for the average household and will adapt well to new situations. He'll be inclined to be active and a clown. He'll be good with children and the elderly as well as for obedience and agility. In the litter: Dubbed "Espresso" for his espresso brown cape. He's the wallflower of the bunch. Often goes unknoticed because of his well rounded nature. Not prone to barking or bickering with his brothers and sisters, content to fall asleep first and to calmly eat his food.

Dot: She is a submissive girl who will need special handling and a structured environment to maintain her confidence. If you find that the pup isn't doing well in your home, please don't bring it to the pound or shelter. Bring it back to them and they will re-home him/her...but they are really good at matching humans with dogs so I don't think this will be a problem; and the second is to meet at the puppy park at least once a month for play dates! My humans say they are willing to personally deliver or ship them if your out of state, so if your considering a puppy send my humans a note and they will work something out for you.
