PPHN is a serious medical condition in which the baby’s circulation system fails to immediately adjust to working outside the womb, as defined by medical journals. It is characterized by insufficient blood supply to a newborn’s lungs and limited oxygen supply into the bloodstream. A professor of psychology in the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Janet Werker, leads the team of researchers in this study. Researchers grouped the participants of the study, all pregnant women, into three separate groups according to the specifications. The three groups are of women who were taking antidepressants, those who were not having any treatment and those who are not suffering from depression. It was found through the study that babies born from women who do not medicate their depression may develop a delay in the language development.

The way that Zoloft works is that is affects the serotonin levels of the brain, alcohol also affects the serotonin levels so combining the two may have mixed results.  The effects of alcohol has been known to be strengthened by combining it with Zoloft so you can feel drunker faster on the combination.
